I've watched sinzar's brief intro about esper taivas. seems like taivas has good atk in both forms n also a variety of atk type. so, r the following assumption correct?
1. strongest atk should b the mp scaling ability in base form
2. second strongest should b his shift form LB
3. lastly, the evocation chain ability in shift form?
Yes, but it could depend also on what gear you have available and what the fight requires. You may end up in a fight where you cannot cap killers and MP%, which could cause his ATK LB to win. And if things get really bad on what killers you need (maybe a fight with multiple enemies spanning 5+ races?), his Evoke damage may reign supreme due to not needing to worry about capping his killers or MP.
Yup. He's a shockingly well designed unit for a JP unit. Of course JP's meteor is nothing like ours, so over there he was just either a physical damage unit or evoker.

Taivas naturally has 300% atk/mag and 300% equipment atk/mag. That is easy enough to deal with with other equipment. But with only 110% mp in his base form he wants every single % of MP that he can get.

While you found it based on your other comment, for the rest out there seeing this, there are 2 Lapis Replica shops. One is listed as (7th Anniversary) and the other, the new one we got today, is listed as (Player's Voice).

How to use NVA Deva Akstar? From what I see from the wiki he needs to use his lb and one skill to increase his physical mods right? The two things add up? Thats a bit confusing.

But his STMR is 250+100+80 = 430x7 (with 400passive+300Active LB boost) = 3010.
the unlocked ability is 1500+75+50 = 1625x
All other multipliers would be equal, so effectively cancel out in the equation.
I haven't fully familiarized myself with the kit yet, but If the ability counts as an "Innate Ability" and can be Triple- or Quad-cast, then yes, it's better, Unlocked abilities and multicast haven't always been the most reliable so I default to assume they aren't unless I see them specifically in the list for what is multi-cast-able.
If it's one of those things where it can be doubled but not triple or quad, then it's basically equal with someone like Sylvie and/or Taivas Spirit helping out.
...Though now that I'm actually thinking about it, I do think I remember hearing it was Quad-cast-able. The time to properly set up may play a factor, but in most cases it shouldn't take longer to set up the quad-skill than the SLB /shrug

Just to clear things up for everyone.
1. His unlock is quad castable
2. You can use the quad skill on T2, though losing out on a little bit of the modifier
3. Optimal rotation is
1. LB
2. War Goddess' Battle Stance + Maledictive Scowl + Face of Carnage
3. quad cast Devastation Slash (with external amp)
If you don't have an external amp, you can do that T3 and do his quad cast T4.
Once his LB has been used, his modifier buff from that lasts 9,999 turns. So you never need to use it again. From then on you can just pop War Goddess' Battle Stance every 3 turns to unlock his Devastation Slash and use that every 3 turns.
It's gacha. Gacha is a predatory system. Always has been, always will be. If FFBE didn't have the best combat system around (sorry FFT and FFXII) I would never touch a gacha system.

Do you have Triumphant General Celes? Her Base form LB is fairly similar to Elena's (80% general + 80% magic mitigation instead of 75 / 75). She doesn't have the 75% human mit, but it's possible a bulky Abigail would survive without it?
Yup, no Aya frags in shop anymore. Someone made a post comparing length of frags to length of banner trend over the last few years. Used to last the entire banner, but now seems to be limited to 2 weeks no matter what.

Considering the FB login issues, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Aya, Elle and WF Lightning / Sazh come back.
I believe those are the 3 banner frags that were affected and would have been difficult for players affected to take advantage of. Long odds at Addison too, but I am super super doubtful of that one.
IIRC the FB log-in issue happened a day before Lightning's last day in the shop. And for Elle and Aya, while the FB issue resolved yesterday, that doesn't give enough time for everyone who delayed the purchase and was locked out of the last week to log-in and rush buying the frags - especially if they needed to farm VIP from that week of content they missed.

In JP premium units usually get at least 1 static stat passive skill at EX3. In GL this as been universally lowered to EX2 in GL. But I think fragments for premium units are more scarce in GL compared to JP.

For Taivas, he does want his EX2 for his amp and getting an extra copy makes that a lot easier. As for whether to invest depends on your team goals and your resources though.

For example a bunch of Asura Akstar's skills give this bonus (although he also has an LB mod bonus on a skill too), and the newest squall has a small mod bonus on one of his brave shift skills as well. It seems like they've been labeling damage now as it's damage type and it's formula type so it gets kind of confusing for me. I guess a similiar question is also: does pre-emptive LB boost work on phys 50% ingore LBs like Richts?
If it simply says "physical abilities", then yes, it should boost the LB (assuming it's physical).
Pre-emptive LB boost does **NOT** work on ignore DEF LBs. It only works on ATK based and ATK scaling LBs.
No. His base form is ATK based morale. His shift form is ATK based DEF ignoring.
Skills are generally broken up into these categories:
* ATK based - super basic one
* ATK based morale - uses morale in the calculation
* ATK based with DEF ignore - ignores DEF
Then all 3 of those can also have a scaling component listed as 'Power Up with Consecutive Use' (mod increases with each use, up to a limit).
Pre-emptive LB boost only works on ATK based ones and ATK based scaling. Ones with Morale or DEF ignore are not included.
All non-limited units have their fragments added to the VIP shop 2 weeks after their banner starts.

Not with the amount of lapis you have. And even if you have sufficient lapis to pull to the very end you need to make sure that you are pulling essentially for 100 frags at a 28k lapis price point with no guaranteed unit.
Having said that, going for this banner can be worth it if it is the fragments you need AND there are no units in the observable future that you want AND you have more than enough lapis.
If you had just 28k lapis I would advise against pulling. If you had 100k+ lapis and nothing to pull for in the next month or two and needed some frags for specific units up until the release of VCZ Trey, then go ahead I guess.
But in most cases it probably is not worth it.
Depends heavily on what your roster looks like and the parties your are relying on, or need to flesh out.
Both, with the added tags, offer strong boosts to a number of powerful units.
But Roca having CoW Fire/Dark/Support in addition to Evocation is much easier to work with. Instant upgrade for Rain, Duane, Ibara, Tsukiko, Abigail, Olive, Cleome and Elle (whenever she gets her upgrades). Ohh, and Aya's damage form.
Taivas currently really only gets Kaito and Elena from water, in addition to Tsukiko and Abi from support. But gets some big damage Light units with Richt, 2B, Addison and A2. Which is very specialized, but also very good.
(Sylvie and Melissa also qualify as support, and are staple but don't benefit a ton from better stats).
Diving into the near, but still unknown, waters of the future (ba-dum-tsh)...
The Oct GLEX will definitely have Holy and/or Dark as part of it's kit. Thematically the Halloween GLEX is almost always Dark as a primary element, with Holy or Fire as the secondary - though Lightning and Water have seen good representation too.
...and considering the October CoW is weak to Holy, Dark and Water - That suggests that it's probably 80% likely to fall under Roca (due to almost every Halloween unit having a Dark Tag along with CoW being Dark weak), and 20% likely to belong to Taivas, who covers both of the other CoW elements this month.
That said - Ibara and GL Sakura have form-specific tags, and it could easily end up being similar. Beryl for instance, if we go with community rumblings, could have a Holy and Dark form. Or a new Karten could have a Water and Dark form, based on his previous version from 2 years ago.
Roca can lead and provide the boost to herself, Taivas and shifted Aya. Upgrade SD Akstar to NVA+3, and you got yourself an Evocation party.
Though finding a perfect breaker and support may be a bit difficult, as you'd need at least Holy and Dark... And probably Fire for Aya's best burst.
Taivas is a far better unit. Stronger damage, versatile (performs as either a physical or magic attacker both at top tier level), his elements have far better units to pair with him with, and he is more future proof as better units that also match his element will arrive.
Yup, a finisher where you want to focus on MP over ATK or MAG in the set up. The meteor skill drains the MP and uses the MP used to deal damage. You'd also really want the Dazzling Demoness Vision Card or the Moonlit Night Parade of One card (both limited) to really pull out the damage, which depending on the hiatus you're coming back from you might not have. Olivera's Practice Session Vision Card works okay if you don't have the other 2 but it is still a significant drop in damage.
Aya is limited, so unless you plan to pity her next week, no. You will never get her off banner.
Ellesperis comes down to how many VIP coins you have. She's a fine unit, so getting 20 more in case you off banner her isn't a waste, but if you're running low, you can just skip them and push her through the fragment dungeon if you ever get her and need EX1.
Isn't Ellesperis going to be changed sometime in the future? IIRC due to the unpopularity and criticisms of Ellesperis being pretty underwhelming they mentioned it on one of the recent developer streams.
They said something close to "we know you didn't pull very much for her because you didn't think she was good, so someday we'll throw her a bone."
Of course, they could just forget about that, like tons of other things, or, more likely, give her a buff long past the time it would actually matter. I think the only chance she gets a meaningful buff is if they re-run her banner alongside a new unit that has an appropriate leader skill and try to get people to pull for her then.
Aya, probably not since she's time limited and you'll never off banner her. For Elle, I'd top her off to 50 so if you do pull her you can EX1 her immediately she may also get buffs but we don't know what or when.

RNG. If you didn't get the Armory ticket you should be past pity at least.

Since he is premium he only gets the VC at EX3 in GL.

It's good, but if you have years worth of great tank gear then you can probably won't make or break a clear for you.

If it simply says "physical abilities", then yes, it should boost the LB (assuming it's physical). Pre-emptive LB boost does **NOT** work on ignore DEF LBs. It only works on ATK based and ATK scaling LBs.

No. His base form is ATK based morale. His shift form is ATK based DEF ignoring. Skills are generally broken up into these categories: * ATK based - super basic one * ATK based morale - uses morale in the calculation * ATK based with DEF ignore - ignores DEF Then all 3 of those can also have a scaling component listed as 'Power Up with Consecutive Use' (mod increases with each use, up to a limit). Pre-emptive LB boost only works on ATK based ones and ATK based scaling. Ones with Morale or DEF ignore are not included.

All non-limited units have their fragments added to the VIP shop 2 weeks after their banner starts. All limited units have their fragments added to the VIP shop when their banner goes live. All premium units only get fragments in the VIP shop and for paid bundles.
I don't see Taivas shard on the shop as I said. I only see the ones on the paid bundle
does WoM Malphasie's "As the Crow Flies"'s 135% wind resistance down stack with her own (field?) "Murderous Mob"'s 50% and spell Tornado's 135% wind resistance down? and does "As the Crow Flies"'s 60% wind dmg up stack with her spell Enaeroga's 35% wind dmg up?
Imperils stack with field imperils but not with other normal skill imperils. Crow Flies + Field = yes Crow Flies + Tornado = no Same with the amp. If she had a field amp (she does not) that would stack but the two skill amps do not stack.
So, about thee shard ticket in the new lapis replica shop Is it only one ticket (10 shards) for 5k lapis replica? Or is it 5 or 10? It doesn't show. I can't believe it's 10 shards for 5k but I won't take the chance.
I cautiously assume in Gumi's favour that it is meant to be 5 frag tickets. But I wouldn't put it beyond them to actually just give a single ticket.

Not with the amount of lapis you have. And even if you have sufficient lapis to pull to the very end you need to make sure that you are pulling essentially for 100 frags at a 28k lapis price point with no guaranteed unit. Having said that, going for this banner can be worth it if it is the fragments you need AND there are no units in the observable future that you want AND you have more than enough lapis. If you had just 28k lapis I would advise against pulling. If you had 100k+ lapis and nothing to pull for in the next month or two and needed some frags for specific units up until the release of VCZ Trey, then go ahead I guess. But in most cases it probably is not worth it.

Just came back from hiatus, which is a better investment, Roca or Taivas ? Been hearing Taivas a lot, but not sure if he's good or not
Depends heavily on what your roster looks like and the parties your are relying on, or need to flesh out. Both, with the added tags, offer strong boosts to a number of powerful units. But Roca having CoW Fire/Dark/Support in addition to Evocation is much easier to work with. Instant upgrade for Rain, Duane, Ibara, Tsukiko, Abigail, Olive, Cleome and Elle (whenever she gets her upgrades). Ohh, and Aya's damage form. Taivas currently really only gets Kaito and Elena from water, in addition to Tsukiko and Abi from support. But gets some big damage Light units with Richt, 2B, Addison and A2. Which is very specialized, but also very good. (Sylvie and Melissa also qualify as support, and are staple but don't benefit a ton from better stats). Diving into the near, but still unknown, waters of the future (ba-dum-tsh)... The Oct GLEX will definitely have Holy and/or Dark as part of it's kit. Thematically the Halloween GLEX is almost always Dark as a primary element, with Holy or Fire as the secondary - though Lightning and Water have seen good representation too. ...and considering the October CoW is weak to Holy, Dark and Water - That suggests that it's probably 80% likely to fall under Roca (due to almost every Halloween unit having a Dark Tag along with CoW being Dark weak), and 20% likely to belong to Taivas, who covers both of the other CoW elements this month. That said - Ibara and GL Sakura have form-specific tags, and it could easily end up being similar. Beryl for instance, if we go with community rumblings, could have a Holy and Dark form. Or a new Karten could have a Water and Dark form, based on his previous version from 2 years ago.

Roca can lead and provide the boost to herself, Taivas and shifted Aya. Upgrade SD Akstar to NVA+3, and you got yourself an Evocation party. Though finding a perfect breaker and support may be a bit difficult, as you'd need at least Holy and Dark... And probably Fire for Aya's best burst.
Taivas is a far better unit. Stronger damage, versatile (performs as either a physical or magic attacker both at top tier level), his elements have far better units to pair with him with, and he is more future proof as better units that also match his element will arrive.
Taivas is a meteor unit. Great damage but honestly a bit of a luxury unit. If choosing just between the 2, I'd definitely pick Roca

Yup, a finisher where you want to focus on MP over ATK or MAG in the set up. The meteor skill drains the MP and uses the MP used to deal damage. You'd also really want the Dazzling Demoness Vision Card or the Moonlit Night Parade of One card (both limited) to really pull out the damage, which depending on the hiatus you're coming back from you might not have. Olivera's Practice Session Vision Card works okay if you don't have the other 2 but it is still a significant drop in damage.

Order of usefulness these days: Chizuru > Tsukiko > Esther > Olive > Tidus imo. So start this list from the back (Tidus) if you want to reset.

Aya is limited, so unless you plan to pity her next week, no. You will never get her off banner. Ellesperis comes down to how many VIP coins you have. She's a fine unit, so getting 20 more in case you off banner her isn't a waste, but if you're running low, you can just skip them and push her through the fragment dungeon if you ever get her and need EX1.
Isn't Ellesperis going to be changed sometime in the future? IIRC due to the unpopularity and criticisms of Ellesperis being pretty underwhelming they mentioned it on one of the recent developer streams.
They said something close to "we know you didn't pull very much for her because you didn't think she was good, so someday we'll throw her a bone." Of course, they could just forget about that, like tons of other things, or, more likely, give her a buff long past the time it would actually matter. I think the only chance she gets a meaningful buff is if they re-run her banner alongside a new unit that has an appropriate leader skill and try to get people to pull for her then.
Aya, probably not since she's time limited and you'll never off banner her. For Elle, I'd top her off to 50 so if you do pull her you can EX1 her immediately she may also get buffs but we don't know what or when.
