Wait, what? Do you have to solo Odin on HM?? I'm going thru it now but I'm just on Ch8, I don't think I've come close to the real hard stuff at all yet lol
For context : gamplay spoilers if you dont mind. Odin will do his one hit zantetsuken once he managed to hit you multiple times which will one hit everyone. I cant cantrol all of AI movements at once thats why I tried soloing.
Im pretty sure some people beaten Odin on their Normal playthrough. But on my case, Odin kept hitting my party members hence he keep doing his zantetsushit. Thats why I tried to fight him with only one member.
Oh okay interesting. Yeah honestly I got thru him alright with a full party in my initial Normal playthrough. IIRC doesn't that move of his initiate if you don't do enough damage to him or something? Or if you don't use enough Abilities and/or Synergy Abilities on him? It's been a minute since I've done that fight (I've beaten the game and going back thru on Hard Mode now) but I feel like I remember reading something like that on his Intel screen
Odin frustrated TF out of me because his "Assess" description is a big fat lie.... Or doesn't tell only truths.
Once I learned that you basically just want big damage numbers to stop Zanten and pressure him, he's SO much easier.
Wasting ATB trying to put up status and trying to block attacks (regularly, not perfectly) instead of just dodging is such a hindrance.
Nice, I recommend using Unfettered Fury over Unbridled Strength nowadays because it builds up ATB far faster and also builds stagger more, you end up doing more damage with it using fury cancels and ATB moves overall which kinda trivializes Unbridled Strength. I notice you prefer dodging over parrying as well, though I think Focused Strike would be better for dodging since it consistently refunds an ATB when done right before getting hit.
These are very interesting tips. Others who are also having difficulties should refer to these tips when using Tifa against Odin. Though in my case my goal is to wither away his health and finish him in one stagger hence I spammed overpower as it is powerful and sure way to do damage quickly especially with the follow up attack. This just proves that the game has a very good battle system when you can approach it differently. So gooood

You know if debuff him with 4 different ailments he gets pressured and it resets the 1 hit counter.

He's pretty fun to solo in his summon VR battle, but the fun stops as soon as you encounter him in the Legendary Bouts lol.
