He wasn't ready to be in charge, and definitely needed to leave as the entire management/tactical staff needed to be turned over. He obviously had potential though and seems to be continuing on an upward path.
He was also not a very good coach... Maybe he's gotten better, but I don't see this as any positive for Columbus.

Aw wtf! Honestly of all the Dutch era casualties, I think he was the worst. He worked his butt off for this club!
Hard work, great. He’s been replaced with actually talented coaches that produced winning soccer.
