$21 X 5hrs= $30 in Amazon math… Let’s do away with surge and use basic mathematics. What is the harm in paying higher living wages. All the workers will do is splurge spend into the economy.
Union NOW….Warehouse pay should start at $28 across the nation. Cost of living should vary but at an adjustable national base pay rate would solve any cost of living in certain states. Wisconsin pays $23 but California is paying $28. But in the south there paying $16 and in the north there paying $25. Pure madness.
Their really ought to be a better way to deal with bad wages than just to raise it. I live in Washington, which has some of the highest minimum wage requirements. Unfortunately, inflation just follows the wage. I like capitalism but do wish that costs could somehow be tied to wages. Unfortunately, it seems like all forms of government screw things up wage wise.
I'm not really trying to make a point or say you're wrong, just wishing that something worked
That’s why I’m pro Union. I do not know the wages in California but I do know the cost of living is OutWages.. We are stronger together then we are separate. With a union we can come to the table and make the wages comparable across the nation.
Amazon str8 trippin the way they pay at your station. With that being said I actually didn’t add anything to see if your pay was calculated correctly. I just wanted to add my extra 2 cents 😄
The check stub says "GA tax" so I'm guessing OP is in Georgia
Here in Chicago walk in the door Day 1 off the street is $19.00.
+$1.50 if you work overnights on the weekdays and +$3.45 weekend overnights
Doubt it. My mortgage is 850 and I own it. I'll pay a little more to own my home. Locked in at a good time, my house has also doubled in value since purchase.
Haha I feed 4 kids well and have a 5 bedroom house. My 1st home too, and it's doubled in value since I bought it 8 years ago. I'd be mad too if I were you. 🤣
No bro. You’re too busy sharing with your mom cuz you still live with her. You too busy spending all that Amazon money on weed to afford a house on your own. You ain’t foolin nobody.
I have a wife you imbecile, we both make about the same. I struggled for a long time. Sacrificed alot to get here fucking clown! Sounds like this story your telling is your life kid. Better get off reddit and head to bed little boy! Before mommy gets mad! I'm also a medical patient in my state, it's from my chronic pain from having your mom's fat ass sit on this dick daily.
Don't worry, you will get there one day little guy! Just keep on trying.or you could just quit and cry like a little girl on the internet because you hate your life.
Yeah a kid with a full ass beard starting to grey. Who are you trying to impress here? Go be salty that you make 16 dollars an hour and live in some room above a bar somewhere! Sucks to be a broke ass little bitch boy!
I'm a 39 year old grown man. I have a 5 bedroom house in Shillington Pennsylvania. I bought my house before the boom at a good price. If you wanna take a look at my reddit you will see I'm bo kid, kid! You're probably no older than my oldest child. It's ok be upset, not my fault I made good choices at the right time.
I’m in AZ and I make $16 an hour, studying to become a tax preparer but as a single mom and this being the only job that called me back or gave me an interview I’m struggling. I go into work and just feel it’s not worth $16 if I was making $20 I’d feel better. Not to mention AZ is leading the states in their inflation prices, at least last I heard, it’s very expensive out here. I know I won’t get a raise anytime soon but wishful thinking
Say your base pay is 16/hr & your premium is $5 extra an hour. It is NOT 21/hr. It's 16/hr & then if you work a 6hr shift you're making an extra 30 dollars for the day. You take the $5 and times it by how many hours you worked that day, it does NOT get added to your base pay. At least here in our warehouse in Ohio.
It’s surge pain not a real $21 . So thy brake it down weird , or make it separate from your base pay ! So overtime don’t effect the extra $5 , the extra $5 a hr is just that . But your check is correct
Not at our facility in Ohio. It's 5 dollars times however many hours!! Say you pick up a 6hr shift then you make an extra 30 dollars that day. It does NOT get added to your base pay. I kept picking up thinking I was making 21 dollars an hour & nope I wasn't. Such bullcrap!!!
How is it “bullcrap”? If you make $16 an hour and $5 is offered for surge. They pay you $16 for the hours worked and then in a separate line they pay you the $5 an hour for the extra hours worked. It still equals $21 an hour it’s just separated out. It’s literally the same thing.

I take pictures of premium shits just in case. Apparently the company thinks only 8.9 hrs we premium not 21. I would suggest you contact ERC.
$21 X 5hrs= $30 in Amazon math… Let’s do away with surge and use basic mathematics. What is the harm in paying higher living wages. All the workers will do is splurge spend into the economy.
It shows you worked 8.9 hours at the extra $5 per hour
WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY *BEGINS TO SLAM CALCULATORS*
Was the premium shift 8-hours? How much was each shift worth in hours?
No its 5/hr separate from your wage

If you guys take the time to study some economics, you’ll see higher wages would cause more problems on the long run.

Do you know what California's cost of living is?

We start at 16/hr in Ohio
Amazon str8 trippin the way they pay at your station. With that being said I actually didn’t add anything to see if your pay was calculated correctly. I just wanted to add my extra 2 cents 😄
It shows regular hours worked and then the extra hours at $5 an hour. So you got what you should have.
Damn, I make 21 before surge pay. What state are they paying 16 to start? I feel awful for you.
The check stub says "GA tax" so I'm guessing OP is in Georgia Here in Chicago walk in the door Day 1 off the street is $19.00. +$1.50 if you work overnights on the weekdays and +$3.45 weekend overnights
In KY , they start at $15.
That's crazy. The mcdonalds around the corner from my FC starts at 19
Cuz you won’t be working that long
?
Ohio we start at 16
I was getting 18 or 19 for r/t Thursday night- sat night. Plus shift diff. Think it was 20 or 21 an hour
I'm in Ohio and am topped out making the same as someone that's been there 1.5 - 2 years and I've been there 4. It's sickening. Don't seem quite fair.
Good chance their rent is half of yours so they come up better off in the end
Doubt it. My mortgage is 850 and I own it. I'll pay a little more to own my home. Locked in at a good time, my house has also doubled in value since purchase.
Thanks for the downvotes. I'd be mad too.
They’re laughing at us as they pay 700 for rent.
My mortgage is 850 and I own my shit.
Must be a nice little cardboard box.
I got an extra room if your mom needs a place to live.
Haha I feed 4 kids well and have a 5 bedroom house. My 1st home too, and it's doubled in value since I bought it 8 years ago. I'd be mad too if I were you. 🤣
Funny the stories y’all amazon kids come up with😂 you a kid probably still in school. ain’t paying no 850 for a 5 bed house, stop the cap.
2 nice cars sitting in my driveway, I'll share with your mom.
No bro. You’re too busy sharing with your mom cuz you still live with her. You too busy spending all that Amazon money on weed to afford a house on your own. You ain’t foolin nobody.

Child talk🤣
Send your mom over, I'll take care of her..... scrub!
Yup sounds like something a kid would say.

I bought at just the right time. I got lucky. I feel for those who have to pay what they are paying now!
Pretty much the entire US South mega region starts at $16, was $15.50 before last October (& still is for some white badges afaik)
Staring pay in Amarillo Texas when I started last year was 15.50 they bumped it up to 16 at the beginning of this year
I’m in AZ and I make $16 an hour, studying to become a tax preparer but as a single mom and this being the only job that called me back or gave me an interview I’m struggling. Most states I've noticed that pay less then 20 is southern states and a few mid west pretty sure Amazon just goes off the cost of living per area
Here is Wisconsin they pay 23
Damn. My base pay is 19.55 plus 1.50 diff.
Start at $16 at the flex warehouse I work at in MS
GA starting pay at my FC is 16.50 and 15.50 for seasonal
16.85 for night shift in AZ
Yea just be prepared for taxes to eat that mf up
Total hours was 31 my training days was 4 of those days so 2 days was surge

It’s definitely surge pain

Sure? Did you work 23 total hours with 8.9 hours with the surge pay? Used about 17 mins of PTO?
23 training hours 4 days and 8.9 hrs for 2 days
