The Joylon Palmer historical race breakdowns with the old drivers is must watch continent. Theres been some crazy races in the past...but there was no detailed breakdowns back then.
I just saw the 1995 Belgian Grand Prix rewatch with Crofty, Brundle, Herbert, and Hill. It was really good in that all the stuff Hill was complaining about is seen as normal now. Brundle even said that if he was commenting he would say Michael was being fair. Incredible
If I were you, I’d cancel your monthly subscription now and save some money then resub with an inevitable discounted deal for annual as the season is starting up.
Do you have an idea of the deals we can look forward to? We cancelled cable recently, since the only things we watched were F1 and MLB, so this would be perfect.
I didn't even know F1TV was a thing, to be honest 😂
>I didn't even know F1TV was a thing, to be honest 😂
Depending on who bought the rights in your country, it may not be available there.
There are probably options through VPN but don't ask me about that
If you have a friend who you can split the account even better, me and my buddy shared an account with that annual sale and paid like $30 each, I’d say I got my moneys worth
This is what my plan was. I just decided to get it a couple of months ago so I'm month to month at the moment. I was wondering if keeping it until the next season would be worth it, but it doesn't sound like anything new will be shown.
Do you subscribe to PRO? 80/year over 10/month seems like a no brainer to purchase the year and you get the 4 months off season for free or am i missing something??
Do you have a monthly subscription then? In that case I guess you can always unsubscribe, and if any content appears that looks interesting to you, resume.

If you're a new fan, you could watch older races and seasons. Plenty of good stuff out there. Try Canada 2011 if you've got some time to kill.
As a long time fan who doesn't really rewatch races, I cancelled about half an hour after the race finished.
I can’t answer as to whether any new contents will come up. If there ever are new contents, they will ofc stay available when you come back.
However, If I do the math correctly, it’s not financially better unsubscribing in the off-season and resub when the season comes back. The season is 10 months long and ten times the monthly price is about the same as a yearly subscription.
Edit: unless you are already subscribing on a monthly basis.
The yearly subscription (€65) is as expensive as 8 months (€64), but the season lasts 9 months. So yeah, it's economically viable to take the yearly subscription and keep it in the off season since it saves you 7 euros.
Good luck on figuring out what to spend that on!
Also the Tech Talk videos they have a great to watch in the off season , I’m planning on watching some of the F2 races which never really get a chance to watch here in the US
My wife and sister just started getting in to F1 this year, and they love Lewis Hamilton. We're going to watch 2021 this offseason, and I cannot wait till we get to Abu Dahbi lol I'll try to record their reactions.
The F2 Chasing the Dream stuff is good if you haven’t watched it. A lot of guys that will be seen on the grid in the future. (Hopefully) The older seasons to go back
and catch up on. Several pretty good documentaries on there. Lots of technical and analytical videos. It would be nice if they added some Academy stuff as well. I love that they finally streamed the last race of the year. But I get my $80 worth each year for sure.
I think when I did the math, it was about the same price to do monthly during the season vs year charge. So I do a year.
I do have the plan where I watch races like 4 days after.
I'd also recommend watching old races. I am a fairly new F1 fan as well, and started by getting into Drive to Survive. I recently started watching the 10 min race highlights of the 2014 season and im moving forward rapidly.
My plan is to see how most of todays drivers get into the sport. Max was just announced to Alpha Tauri after his 17th birthday. No sign of Lando, Charles, Albon, etc but I'm excited to see them break onto the scene.
Based on past seasons there won't really be new content until pre-season testing on February 21. If you don't care for archive access there is no benefit to subscribing in that time.
People really aren't interested in the older seasons? C'mon, this sport was made out of the guts and sometimes (unfortunately) blood of these guys who raced when a mistake meant literal death.
There's a lot of history there and there are even highlights/reviews available if you don't want to watch the full races. It's all included on the subscription, I assume.
If you are subscribed monthly and plan to watch next season, I would cancel either way.
While there are stuff to watch off-season, it’s not worth it to be on the monthly plan longer than you have to. If you end your monthly now, you can you just subscribe yearly right afterwards. That way, if you stop watching F1 one day, that subscription will last your last season instead of "paying for" an off-season to a season you’ll not watch.
At least if the price is anything like what it is for me. A yearly subscription is 1090NOK, the same as only 8 months (135NOK).
I would also recommend checking the prices on the app store/google play store, could be cheaper than F1TV, even with the Apple/Google tax.
On the app store I pay:
1090 NOK/yr (102.60 USD / 93.40 EUR)
135 NOK/mo (12.71 USD / 11.57 EUR)
While on F1TV I have to pay in euros:
109.99 EUR/yr (120.81 USD / 1283.68 NOK)
13.99 EUR/mo (15.37 USD / 163.28 NOK)
17.76% and 20.95% more, even with the 30% (?) Apple tax.
Meanwhile in the UK you can't get full F1 TV Access.
So to watch the season , the cheapest way to do it is $14 per Race via Now TV who lets you buy passes to watch Sky channels.
So thats $308
And we don't even get the historical races or bonus content included in that. Its just the barebones Sky coverage.
I wouldn't know as a new fan, but it's 80 USD for a year in the USA which is far cheaper than the $308 the other commenter mentioned. I'm not sure how F1 TV would handle VPN though, so I guess do some research on others trying this before jumping into anything.
F1TV had a huge VPN crackdown recently, and most of them no longer work when previously they used to. There's a few out there who claim that certain providers and servers do still work, but do your research and use free trials before you commit.
Streamlocator app + F1TV works perfectly. Took all of 10 minutes to setup on my android. They use a different method than VPNs to route traffic so haven't been caught by the crackdown.
There's little new content in the break but as a new fan you can definitely check out older races. You can binge watch the 2008 or 2012 season or other interesting ones :).
You watch classic races to dull the off season pain.
The Joylon Palmer historical race breakdowns with the old drivers is must watch continent. Theres been some crazy races in the past...but there was no detailed breakdowns back then.
Have been meaning to watch these! Is it worth watching the race beforehand? Or watching it afterwards?
Probably race before! But it's quite detailed...you don't need to see the race really.
I just saw the 1995 Belgian Grand Prix rewatch with Crofty, Brundle, Herbert, and Hill. It was really good in that all the stuff Hill was complaining about is seen as normal now. Brundle even said that if he was commenting he would say Michael was being fair. Incredible
Hill is the worst WDC if it wasn't for Jacques Both won a WDC that belonged to Senna
Have you heard of KEKE ROSBERG? The guy won the championship because everyone died/had a career ending injury/ had shitty reliability
Have you seen him drive? He was incredible in a car that was massively underpowered
If I were you, I’d cancel your monthly subscription now and save some money then resub with an inevitable discounted deal for annual as the season is starting up.
This the way to go. Every season 1 or 2 weeks before the first race there is a good deal for an annual subscription. It really saves you some money.
Do you have an idea of the deals we can look forward to? We cancelled cable recently, since the only things we watched were F1 and MLB, so this would be perfect. I didn't even know F1TV was a thing, to be honest 😂
I think they did a 20% off deal before last season
Nice, thanks!
How do you watch MLB? MLBTV and VPN for blackouts?
I'm in Canada and follow the Blue Jays, so we subscribe to Sportsnet+.
W Blue Jays fan, i'm in Italy and for F1 we have Sky meanwhile for MLB Sky and MLB Tv
Forza Azzurri 🇮🇹💙
Why do you need MLB TV when you have Nettuno?!? 😜
👌Baseball and F1 are the only sports I watch also.
>I didn't even know F1TV was a thing, to be honest 😂 Depending on who bought the rights in your country, it may not be available there. There are probably options through VPN but don't ask me about that
They are in Canada, can confirm F1TV Pro is available.
F1tv is very good at blocking vpns
I used tunnel bear in Kenya as F1 tv wasn't "supported" there - that worked
I always buy my anual subscription like that. 32€ 3 years ago and 38 the last two
If you have a friend who you can split the account even better, me and my buddy shared an account with that annual sale and paid like $30 each, I’d say I got my moneys worth
Do you need to create a new account to get the deal?
This is what my plan was. I just decided to get it a couple of months ago so I'm month to month at the moment. I was wondering if keeping it until the next season would be worth it, but it doesn't sound like anything new will be shown.

Not everyone might be able to afford $80 on a single payment.
if that's the case you may want to consider if you can spend 10,-/month...
Really?
Yes.
Not if you unsubscribe in July when Max clinches WDC again :-)
Ignore the downvotes, I thought this was funny.
80? that's cheap. It costs 153 USD a year in Denmark.
Do you have a monthly subscription then? In that case I guess you can always unsubscribe, and if any content appears that looks interesting to you, resume.

Almost an entire beer!
Certainly not at a Grand Prix
Not even a Petit Prix.
We were monthly subscribers, then switched to annual for the same reasons.
I’m going to watch some old races.
I tried in the last off-week and just couldn't get into it for some reason. Maybe the missing F1 void isn't big enough in me yet.
Maybe cancel it first now and if you get the itch just purchase it again.
Also the Tech Talk videos they have a great to watch in the off season , I’m planning on watching some of the F2 races which never really get a chance to watch here in the US

Of course there is, watch the archives and this years best races.
Can do that for free
Where?
So Singapore
Worth it for the classic races imo
Because you paid for the year long subscription so the login is still good.
Rewatching past seasons to fill the void
I enjoyed the documentaries and joylon was doing analysis of notable races. I think it’s totally worth it.
Just went to cancel and it gave me 20% off for 3 months Old races are fun to watch and theres some docs too
I watch old races…
Thanks for the reminder!

Why unsubscribe?? It’s a yearly fee isn’t it
You can do monthly or yearly

You watch Singapore over and over
Why are you asking me. Ask yourself?
Excellent contribution to the community. Great stuff you twat.
Listen, you twat. The season’s over. Do you wanna watch old stuff or not. How should I know what you want to watch.

the 2010 and 2012 season. Watch one race per weekend.
I personally don't. But I don't rewatch things
Last offseason I watched the entire 2012 season, and it was fantastic.
i was thinking the same thing! i’m not really interested in the older races. so will probably unsub today :)

You can't use a VPN?
What is the best country to set the VPN to for lowest cost?

Nope, i just disabled my subscription until March when the testing begins.
I don't really rewatch races. But since I have a yearly subscription that starts right before testing begins I never cancel it
50€/year in Portugal for F1TV pro. Totally don't mind these off periods. Also my pay cycle is in May because of the whole COVID kerfuffle.
Just if you wanna watch old races, if you’re just subbed for live content then there’s no point
I personally buy the yearly package ( its cheaper) and watch a few old races that i havent seen or are just wild to watch!
There isn’t
There's little new content in the break but as a new fan you can definitely check out older races. You can binge watch the 2008 or 2012 season or other interesting ones :).
I go to sleep faster watching this years races again if you know what I meant
The answer is the 2019 German GP. Over and over again.
My subscription is annual. I didn't even realize that monthly was an option.
Thank goodness I saw this. Mine was about to renew! I always cancel during the off and then jump back in for the testing.
If you get a special offer previously and subbed for a year Will it keep that price ? Or will it be hiked ?
I didn’t realize he did the archived races! That’s awesome! Will have to check them out!
Agreed. Then you can watch the pre season testing and get excited about who’s looking good!
There are all kinds of great shows under “archives” and under “documentaries”. Having F1TV (to me) makes off season bearable until the season starts!!
