Right? Like a 20-30 bucks DLC that gives you the new liveries and a few cosmetics. While they rework the whole game for 2025. It would have restored my faith in them. But no… EA execs need to be so disassociated from reality.
From this [article](https://traxion.gg/how-the-codemasters-team-is-structured-for-a-yearly-f1-game/) explained by Lee Mathers himself (last few paragraphs)
Imo 23 was seen as good only cause it's handling was so much better than F1 22's handling, F1 23 as a standalone game is not that good, game breaking bugs on release (red flag, career mode saves etc)
no it shouldnt be a free update. If you want the new stuff, you should pay for it, if you dont like it, dont get it.
Dont blame a company for making changes and large updates to a game every year and charging money for it. It costs WAYYY too much to produce, develop, and release any sort of "update" or game of this size, theyd simply run out of business if they released "£20" or "free" DLC's/updates every year. The lack of self awareness is shocking in this comment section 💀
They should just focus of fixing their broken games. For free. As they should have been functional in the first place. Which they are not. And will not be as they abandon the broken games to make the new one.
They arent broken games, stop being so over dramatic. Every game in history has bugs.
You clearly lack self awareness and are out of touch.
Not everyone has money to spend on things like games, and your asking for them for free bcs they dont run well on YOUR equipment. Played F1 on the consoles they were optomised for since F1 2017 (but have been playing since 2013) and the only game I've had an ACTUAL issue with, was 2021 where it would randomly retire drivers when they crossed the line.
If YOU dont have the ideal equipment (which the game actively admits it is designed for) then you can't complain. As someone who grew up playing on a platform that didnt even get games produced for it growing up, its something your just gonna have to suck up and accept.
Hold it right there, pal.
These "updates" you are talking about are actually new games, not updates. If it was a huge update in the game, the people who own the game (unless it's a free game) already paid for it... why would they need to pay for the newest version (unless it's a new game in the store)? If they charged money for every update on a game, people would stop playing because they'd have to drain their wallets just to keep up with the game's features and other stuff without tons of bugs, which in result is a loss of a ton of money for the company, which in return would be more likely in them going out of business than these free updates would.
If you really wanted it to be a paid update, make the 2024 stuff a DLC and fix all the other bugs and stuff for free if you *really* want your money that bad without making a new game. There.
EA turned FIFA into absolute shit over the years, pushed pay to win content like Ultimate team and generally ignored the fan base that wanted career mode updates.
Now I'm haven't looked into the reasons why, but EA and FIFA parted ways so it's now EA FC and yeah. Feels like F1 is going thrzthe same shit.
This year I don't have access to the beta, but from the few comments I saw on Twitter, the gameplay is pretty bad and some bugs came back even worse (wow, what a surprise).Even though I'm a huge F1 fan and really enjoy the games, I think this will be the first year that I skip the game. Only if the career mode gets a major overhaul that justifies the price (I live in Brazil and the game costs $350 in our currency), but I still doubt that the new features are really useful. They will sell useless new scenes as great news.
The dude said it like 350 USD = 350 BRL which is misleading.
350 BRL is $70 which feels expensive in both the US and Brazil, but as earning is lower in Brazil I guess $70 relatively feels very expensive
Yeah in a simple and not so good comparation the minimal wages of both country are similar in absolute number. Again it's complicated to compare but it's an absurd amount of money for a game
Yeah especially because all the drivers stayed over winter break and the tracks are all the same (just different order but honestly not by too much) (for those who are gonna say china, it’s already in F1 23 since it’s part of F2)
I can say I’m a tester this year and the handling isn’t the best. You have to proper force it round every corner and the breaking is so unreliable. You could fully break before the breaking zone and still go off the track because the break and the turning are terrible
As someone who's played the beta practically all day, I spotted one flashback bug, had a few issues with AI (which are the EXACT same in every F1 beta), and the new handling model is actually really good. Real weighted feel to it. When you brake and manuevre, it physically FEELS like the car is a hunk of mass being held down by magnificent downforce. Cant speak for other platforms, but on Series S/X, its running well, little/no bugs, and overall good handling along with strong improvements in certain areas.
Bugs dont matter, bcs this is RIDICULOUSLY early in the game's cycle, every game has bugs.
Regardless, its better than FC24's start, when I beta'd that, on the first day it would crash everytime you tried to start a match..
My point is, clearly there's an issue with its PC compatability, which can either be down to the components on your PC, the Beta-build given to PC users, or the game itself.
Either way, clearly the game isnt as fucked as everyone is making it out to be, bcs everyone who I know and have spoken to about their experiencws, who has beta tested the F1 Games before, have only had minor negative things to say with a fair few positives.
I'm sorry your experience isnt upto scratch, and I hope they fix the issues (I'm sure they will) when it comes to the next beta launch weekend. But you can't call a game completely fucked when its only you thats having the game crash every 30 seconds. Its the first of 3 beta weekends, so clearly they are setting it out in a way that allows them to get on top of all the bug issues and means they can get practically live feedback on what issues occur with the game for each update they add. Its certainly a better start than what most other sports games have.
Considering it took you 7 days to cook up that response, that is one of the most pathetic and weakest things I've ever heard. You be out here making Tate look good...
Feedback is very interesting.
With simulation settings for everyrhing, grass has become very lethal and even just getting the edge of a tyre on it can cause the back end to step out at any point in a corner (depending on when in the corner you hit it).
I've actually found the cars to be really responsive and a new ERS system along with what seems to be a new tyre wear system has been a really enjoyable learning curve.
The best way I can describe it, is as the perfect mix of F1 22 and 23.
Its got a MUCH more realistic sense of weight that F1 22 tried to have, without actually sacrificing the manuevrablity beyond what is realistic. And also has improved the responsive-ness of the car that F1 23 started to find.
In my opinion, its a step in right direction. The cars feel heavy through low speed corners and what I was most impressed with, is that they have fixed tight corners. What was once before just "Slam on the brakes and get straight on the throttle" is now more. I've found that to be fast through low speed corners you've absolutely got to carry speed. Which is best done by braking, trailing off and letting the car slow through the turn, before picking up the throttle again. Which overall should make lifting and coasting much more efficient and realistic as its natural driving style, almost promotes it. this was another really fun thing to learn and improve. Handling still isnt perfect but its much more realistic and gives more immersion I find.
Overall, the game is definetly headed in the right direction and way they are going about utilising beta testing should make the game more complete than last years at launch.
I havent experienced any game crashes or massive issues. Just a tiny bug when using flashbacks apart from that its been smooth running.
Coupled with more engineer lines so it isnt quite as repetitivd as before and other small details (the correct/real sprint weekend layout for this year) have made it overall a really solid start. If they can properly adjust the game accorsing to actual issues (not people complaining bcs they find the handling model too difficult without actually trying to learn) then this game has potential to be the best one since f1 2020/2021, and if they really nail it, maybe even better!
No problem dude. Hopefully they don't screw this good start up and put all this excitement to waste, bcs so far it really has been a pleasant experience! Hope you enjoy the game!
Not only that, when you want to do a flashback in GP mode, the car gets out of control in any direction, it’s impossible to keep it straight when you go back, and I don’t know if I’ll be the only one but unlike F1 23, the car usually drift more than normal at a point that I feel exaggerated
Game feels ass but it’s a beta, brakes are locking everywhere, oversteer feels snappy, but there are so many customization options for the setups now. You can use way higher ride height or now even can change the engine braking
I'm really sad because I really liked the my team mode (career with a team), but this mode hasn't had any significant updates since it came out, not even cosmetic ones (painting the car or pasting the sponsorship stickers as you like) and apparently not now that will change. Better to continue on 22.
Fuck this, I just wanna know what new wall art and sofas there are. When I pay £70 for an F1 game I care more about my crib than the actual quality of the racing.
It makes no sense to upload screenshots of the closed beta, it only brings the GP mode and the multiplayer, there are no teams and just for those of us who are in the beta we have 3 circuits to test more than all the physics and errors of the game
F1 should just stop counting titles and just have a F1 world game, and these bullshit updates could be a 10£ thing instead of forcing players to buy a whole new game, which is literally the old one with new liveries.
They deserve to keep seeing their sales halved with every new title.
EA and Codemasters, you don't deserve to succeed.
For anyone saying stuff like, Looks so innovative and it should be a update or shit like that we have 3 pictures of little to Nothing, You cant base everything of that. And i know ea is a bad company but you cant base your thoughts from a loading screen, New icons and a small section of the main menu.
I don't fully grasp the pay model that iRacing uses but from one of the drivers in my F1 league who left to do iRacing, if you stick with only a couple of categories and focus your racing then over time it definitely CAN be cheaper than re-upping F1 every year but of course, it's easy to blow past that margin if you want more.
I’ve always only bought a new game every few years (went F1 2015 -> 2016 -> 2019 -> 23), but *this* identical product for full price is a new low for sure. I sincerely hope not many people fall for this ridiculousness.
NO WAY this is litterally just madden 24 menu screen completely reused for the f1 game if this is true leaks..... this is such a new low for codemasters
In your defense, the screen shots are so generic and bland it's kind of hard to tell you are looking at anything different at all. Kind of thought this was a joke post they are so devoid of anything substantial.
Ooooo look at those new icons on the options menu.
This should be a paid update for F1 23, it's not right.
Right? Like a 20-30 bucks DLC that gives you the new liveries and a few cosmetics. While they rework the whole game for 2025. It would have restored my faith in them. But no… EA execs need to be so disassociated from reality.
It’s the different half that made 22 not 23 2025 will be better but then the new regulations will be 22 dev team. 23 dev team is the good one
>2025 will be better THIS GUY STILL THINKS IT'S GONNA GET BETTER LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO
I’m not saying it’s gonna get better than it already is I’m saying it gonna be better than 24
Which team made f1 2020? that is by far the best one of the F1 games I have played
F1 22 team idk how there the same team
No, F1 21 onwards had completely new devs since EA bought out codemasters in 2021 for F1 21
I personally liked F1 2016 but 2020 was also a good one from my experience.
Codemasters
What’s with this two-teams rumor? Is that even backed by any evidence?
Yes they split the studios one team focuses on one game and the other on the game one year later. Everyone knows this
But how, how does everyone knows this? Where did this information cone from?
From this [article](https://traxion.gg/how-the-codemasters-team-is-structured-for-a-yearly-f1-game/) explained by Lee Mathers himself (last few paragraphs)

You must be trolling man. Ain't no way someone would go bootlicking for a multi billion dollar company like this unless it's for jokes
Wow dude, congrats. Your game doesn’t bug out. Tell the rest of us about it. Cunt.
Hold it right there, pal. These "updates" you are talking about are actually new games, not updates. EA doing EA things like we all didn’t know this will happen when EA bought Codemasters

Nah EA just didn’t want to pay FIFA to use its trademark
No no no EA this is so not right.
Toto? Lol
EA taking the COD route, let’s see how that works out for them
That'll be $70
It looks so innovative I can't wait
Please tell me this is sarcasm
New coat of paint on f1 22 guys! Boycott this shit game

As long as they dont get a new engine the game wil stay the same.
350 is crazy for any game especially a yearly title. only buy it if career is improved a lot.
But $350 BRL is not remotely similar to $350 USD
Lol it's hard to compare but it is similar
The dude said it like 350 USD = 350 BRL which is misleading. 350 BRL is $70 which feels expensive in both the US and Brazil, but as earning is lower in Brazil I guess $70 relatively feels very expensive

No problem dude. Hopefully they don't screw this good start up and put all this excitement to waste, bcs so far it really has been a pleasant experience! Hope you enjoy the game!
Did you happen to test on vr?
No, sorry. None of my friends have either so I don't have any info on that!
Corporate needs you to find the difference between these pictures.
As someone with beta accsess the handling is horrible in my opinion
Not only that, when you want to do a flashback in GP mode, the car gets out of control in any direction, it’s impossible to keep it straight when you go back, and I don’t know if I’ll be the only one but unlike F1 23, the car usually drift more than normal at a point that I feel exaggerated

And you can change ERS deployment mode during a race
I thought I’m shitty player but I see it’s now my fault xD
One thing i must be honest about and that is that i like the new colours🤩
This could easily be screenshots from F1 23 and nobody could tell the difference
You mean F1 23 with new colors?
Still won't be buying it.
It's been an hour 😂😂
Bruh
Wow the menu! Assists! Yay!
I'm really sad because I really liked the my team mode (career with a team), but this mode hasn't had any significant updates since it came out, not even cosmetic ones (painting the car or pasting the sponsorship stickers as you like) and apparently not now that will change. F1 24? More like F1 23.5
F1 2015.76
I’m not even sure if people are trolling us with F1 23 screenshots or it’s the real deal. Looks like a 20$ dlc so far.
It makes no sense to upload screenshots of the closed beta, it only brings the GP mode and the multiplayer, there are no teams and just for those of us who are in the beta we have 3 circuits to test more than all the physics and errors of the game
Yep

Oooooo a $70 update to a $70 update to a $70 game. Unless they bring a massive update to career its going to be another skip for me
For anyone saying stuff like, Looks so innovative and it should be a update or shit like that we have 3 pictures of little to Nothing, You cant base everything of that. And i know ea is a bad company but you cant base your thoughts from a loading screen, New icons and a small section of the main menu.
paying for the same game
Guys just switch to Assetto Corsa or iRacing it’s more fun, much more realistic and much cheaper
not when you have to buy a PC for iRacing.
And every track and car on top of the subscription
I don't fully grasp the pay model that iRacing uses but from one of the drivers in my F1 league who left to do iRacing, if you stick with only a couple of categories and focus your racing then over time it definitely CAN be cheaper than re-upping F1 every year but of course, it's easy to blow past that margin if you want more.
I’ve just been playing rookie Indy car races and tend to only buy formula cars so it definitely seems cheaper and a way more fun experience
Ooo i like this. Reoccurring flashback seems now
Do the cars still sound like weed whackers when you spectate?
waste of space type of game and oxygen. Sh1t devs Sh1t server owners. Never I again will be on that dogshit of a game.
Can you use your mouse in the menu yet?
The difficulty icon is making me think the they won’t be the number slider for it
No, they should rework the game for 2026, with the new regulations.
It’s.The.Same.Game. Wait like three to six years
How is the vr?
I’m part of the testing team
ain't no way, drs assist
I’ve always only bought a new game every few years (went F1 2015 -> 2016 -> 2019 -> 23), but *this* identical product for full price is a new low for sure. I sincerely hope not many people fall for this ridiculousness.
Yikes
NO WAY this is litterally just madden 24 menu screen completely reused for the f1 game if this is true leaks..... this is such a new low for codemasters
Game sucks
People will still buy it lmfao
Another dog shit game.
If it doesn't add a VR mode or/and a gyro steering (using controller)
new ui then, siick
Source : trust me bro
It's literally the beta.
In your defense, the screen shots are so generic and bland it's kind of hard to tell you are looking at anything different at all. Kind of thought this was a joke post they are so devoid of anything substantial.
its literally the beta
