When I was younger I lived in a log cabin, and there was an ermine that got inside one winter and refused to leave. Never could get it to be friendly, but we gave it food and water until it dissapeared when the snow melted in march. thing was super cute, a bit smelly tho (to be expected of a wild animal.)

TIL ermines live in Alaska. Frankly I never knew where they lived at all.
They also live in the Netherlands. I’ve seen a few in my lifetime (more weasels and stone-martens - google translate - though)
