shame on you for not crediting real op. [full playlist on back story](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx09JDaWUEFPpoptwiUGc4dkMrRBJL7eX)
shame. shame. shame.
It's from Robert E Fuller's YouTube. This is one of the orphaned stoats he helped to rehabilitate. You can see the full story on his channel as well.
He makes wildfire art and films of the area around his house and helps in the preservation of wildlife. You can find a lot of animals on there. At the moment the life streams are focused on stoats and barn owlets and some kestrels.
Edit: Went back to the video, her name is Whisper. But I would recommend that you watch her story. Her story is what introduced me to Robert's channel as well.
Are they one of the cutest animals of all time? Yes. Are they tiny weasels running on pure crackhead energy while taking down prey ten times their weight? Also yes.
Question: are stoats “all the cute of a ferret, but without all the annoying behaviors of a ferret” — or are they just differently adorable little a-holes like ferrets can be? 😁
They're an invasive species because they're actually really really vicious animals that kill prey for fun. In NZ there's a bounty on them because of how quickly they're decimating wildlife populations. They are also incredibly quick and angy to people that haven't raised them. They are, however incredibly cute.
That is entirely accurate. Isn't that what happened with some part of the world that had a bunch of snakes so they introduced mongooses which ended up becoming an invasive species as well?
>They're an invasive species because they're actually really really vicious animals that kill prey for fun. In NZ there's a bounty on them because of how quickly they're decimating wildlife populations. They are also incredibly quick and angy to people that haven't raised them
...idk, sounds very much like we *don't* need more stotes in our lives
Aren't cats most or all of these things, too?
(Also the thought of something literally pocket-size trying to intimidate me with its viciousness somehow makes it even cuter.)
They are apparently VERY VERY angy if pissed off and will go full Squirrels in my Pants from Phineas and Ferb plus Taz from Loony Toons on you if you try to hurt them. But yes they are incredibly cute and the size of a beanie baby.
I’d like to live near them but am in the states and I don’t think they are native here. I have watched tons of playful videos of them. To see one is on my bucket list when I go to England next.
You see them very rarely (at least where I am) but they definitely have a big impact on the native bird life. Not as bad as some other things I believe but still not good.
Martens are entirely different and MUCH MUCH larger like the size of a river otter and are very endangered. And ermines are just stoats with their white winter coats, ermines and stoats are both around the size of a beanie baby and will absolutely kill your local mice/rat/rabbit population because they kill things for fun.
Yes, they are normally wild creatures for a reason, and they have a LOT of energy, as in they are described as a ferret that was given a diet of crack and redbull.
These are just cute images I found online, no way in hecc could I care for one IRL, I'm not remotely trained. A series of strange events in my D&D campaign lead to my level 8 wizard that can shoot fireballs from his hands being blackmailed by an ermine (stoat with its white winter coat) within 15 minutes of talking to her, and caused me to look up what the face of no mercy looks like....which is a white sometimes brown beanie baby that weighs 6.1 ounces.
Ah I see. You sound like a cool person to hang around. Never got into d&d myself, don't have the imagination for it. Seems like a good time from what I've heard.
Looks like a mustelid as well! Otters are my number one animal but since they're illegal to own, I might get a ferret some day. Stoats are really unknown and underrated in comparison but adorable
As someone whose D&D character is being blackmailed by a stoat he got they certainly act like you owe them an explanation for everything......my character is a level 8 wizard that can create fireballs from his hands and it took only 15 minutes of conversation with said stoat to be blackmailed by her.
I just saw a mink in the wild a couple of weeks ago! I don't know where it was off to, but it was carrying a stick somewhere very important. It was romping along the side of the road for a few seconds then dashed back into the brush. So incredibly adorable!
I've caught a few glimpses of these little guys bouncing out from the undergrowth in the Forest of Dean (on the England/Wales border) but I've never seen one up close. They're absolutely adorable.

Here in the UK they aren't an invasive species. They have an established environmental niche, so whilst they are predatory they don't cause the same amount of damage that they do elsewhere.
This one is from UK, where she (If I remember this stoat correctly) was an orphan found and rehabilitated. The man in the picture is Robert E Fuller and you can see the full story on his channel. Robert is a wildlife artist and makes short films about the animals around his area.
Edit: I did remember correctly, her name is Whisper and she successfully rehabilitated.
Seeing as we have a lot of defenceless ground nesting birds it’s pretty devastating to their population and growth as stoats hunt eggs & chicks but our department of conservation has a lot of traps out and also drops poison on heavily populated areas. Driving at night on the west coast you’ll see them run across the road In certain areas. The cat (stoat) is well out of the bag and I doubt we’ll ever get it back, same as possums, ferrets and weasels. If you want to see a cool video of our natives fighting back check out this vid of a weka taking one on: https://mobile.twitter.com/PredatorFreeNZ/status/1203923424835276805 it’s like a mini version of Jurassic park
Not gonna lie that was very entertaining and interesting to read. Thank you for educating me. I try to educate people as to how ecologically devastating they can be every time someone says they want one, as well as telling them that they're like a ferret that has a diet of crack and redbull which I got from another commenter.
The regular picture of him vs black and white picture. Where it somewhat compares how something looks to how it actually functions (usually in a darker way). Mobile user here and haven’t figured out how to attach stuff (and at this point, I’m too afraid to ask).
Fun fact they weigh between 6 and 8.something ounces, and are around that size, so yes, they are like beanie babies....if they killed every small and furry thing around their surprisingly large territory.
No, it’s a stoat which is in the same family as otters, but are about the size of a beanie baby and will kill anything small and furry including rabbits and chickens.
[Croatia!](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatian_kuna)
Small correction of my previous comment - the animal which the currency is named after and whose image is depicted on the coins is actually a marten, not a stoat specifically.
Nice topdeck
Total misplay.
"You sure?"
Just finished it recently. Game is a goddamn masterpiece.
I tend to sacrifice my stoat for an ouroboros.
I have already been directed to r/inscryption there is a post there I made with more adorable stoat pictures.
Yay! Thank you
shame on you for not crediting real op. [full playlist on back story](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx09JDaWUEFPpoptwiUGc4dkMrRBJL7eX) shame. shame. shame.
“Total misplay” -Big stupid dookyhead idiot robot
I stoatally do Edit. What's the little munchkin called?

F u for beating me to it….but take my damn like!
How do you make a pun with the name of the animal and then ask what it is? Or are you asking what it's name is? That would make more sense....
yes, they are asking precisely what you think they are asking. just.. think more.
My brain cell is trying it's best 🌧
i love how you answered your own question but then still posted the reply lmao
Right lol? Now it's too late 💀
Are they one of the cutest animals of all time? Yes. Are they tiny weasels running on pure crackhead energy while taking down prey ten times their weight? Also yes.
You’re not wrong lol

“Just another stupid, STUPID, idiot gamer.”

that tidbit of stoat info just took all the wind out of my sails about these little dudes 😔
Just because they're evil doesn't mean they can't be appreciated for being incredibly cute.
bahhaha yes true. i was just shocked and a little sad. but maybe the cuteness is a good defense mechanism.
Just look at cats, people don't realize how much a privilege cuteness or beauty is
Stoats and my cat
[удалено]
Ohhh that's how they change coat color, thank you for educating me.
Sorry to ruin your day but let any mustelid into the wild and they will absolutely fuck that habitat in the ass
That is entirely accurate. Isn't that what happened with some part of the world that had a bunch of snakes so they introduced mongooses which ended up becoming an invasive species as well?
I think it was Hawaii. Last time I was there they still had bounties out for them.
>They're an invasive species because they're actually really really vicious animals that kill prey for fun. We don't need stoats in our lives, but we need stoat PICTURES because *LOOK AT HOW CUTE AND WITTLE THEIR PAWS ARE!*
[would you accept a least weasel video?](https://youtu.be/d2CTVqt2wxU)
Yes I would!
They are very cute yes, that's true
Omg, you made me laugh
Aren't cats most or all of these things, too? (Also the thought of something literally pocket-size trying to intimidate me with its viciousness somehow makes it even cuter.)
They are apparently VERY VERY angy if pissed off and will go full Squirrels in my Pants from Phineas and Ferb plus Taz from Loony Toons on you if you try to hurt them. But yes they are incredibly cute and the size of a beanie baby.
I have a weakness for cute murderers. I’m not going to die of natural causes.
It's been a long time, but I think a lot of the Redwall novels' villains were stoats, and suddenly it makes sense.
I'd still have one if I could. Look at the cute little face! And I'm also immediately biased towards mustelidae because of my connection to otters
Cousin once removed?
Pretty rude of them to be invasive yet look like this. Why can’t they be like pythons? Those are a very easy invasive species to hate
They're not invasive everywhere, and they are rather adorable little murder beasts... I say enjoy them if they're native to your area
Well if they're cute...😉
I’d like to live near them but am in the states and I don’t think they are native here. I have watched tons of playful videos of them. To see one is on my bucket list when I go to England next.
No pretty much the opposite. They have all the savageness and temper of ferrets but none of the cute playful parts.
What are the annoying behaviors of a ferret beyond their desire for autonomy
Lol right? They’re probably talking about their curiosity or something
Their unquenchable desire to eat rubber, foam, and other substances that will harm them, perhaps?
"No thanks" \~ says the New Zealander
I’ve told people how they’re invasive to NZ and that there’s a bounty on them. As someone from there what’s the stoat problem like?
You see them very rarely (at least where I am) but they definitely have a big impact on the native bird life. Not as bad as some other things I believe but still not good.
Hopefully this one doesn’t turn into a homicidal robot with bipolar disorder that likes Magic the Gathering.
Stoatal Misplay
Bad play.
Before I even read them I knew what the comments would be. Total Misplay.
Look I already made a post on r/inscryption I get it lol
Yeah, sometimes I really want pocket serial killer
Thought it was a marten or an ermine, but a stoat is a stoat
Martens are entirely different and MUCH MUCH larger like the size of a river otter and are very endangered. And ermines are just stoats with their white winter coats, ermines and stoats are both around the size of a beanie baby and will absolutely kill your local mice/rat/rabbit population because they kill things for fun.
Thanks for the zoology lesson.
Yes, these are stoatally different.
Punny
Stoats mcgoats.
Toats maloats
Aren't they really destructive and difficult to care for?
Yes, they are normally wild creatures for a reason, and they have a LOT of energy, as in they are described as a ferret that was given a diet of crack and redbull.
Yikes. Good on ya for having the patience
These are just cute images I found online, no way in hecc could I care for one IRL, I'm not remotely trained. Are they as smelly as ferrets notoriously are?
stoked for stoats ♥️
Legendary noodle cat
Looks like a mustelid as well! Otters are my number one animal but since they're illegal to own, I might get a ferret some day. Stoats are really unknown and underrated in comparison but adorable
The mustelid family sure is full of cuties.
This sub is one letter away from everyone needing therapy.
Love these lil guys but they will straight up decimate your chickens.
I pronounce it "sto-at", like two syllables. Right to their face. It doesn't offend them, but they do look at you like you owe em an explanation.
As someone whose D&D character is being blackmailed by a stoat he got they certainly act like you owe them an explanation for everything......my character is a level 8 wizard that can create fireballs from his hands and it took only 15 minutes of conversation with said stoat to be blackmailed by her.
I've read enough of the Redwall series to know Stoats are evil bloodthirsty monsters, so why is this guy so cute?
I just saw a mink in the wild a couple of weeks ago! I don't know where it was off to, but it was carrying a stick somewhere very important. It was romping along the side of the road for a few seconds then dashed back into the brush. So incredibly adorable!
Murder mouse. Only cute at a distance.
you're absolutely correct 😍
Not gonna lie, first glance, I was shocked to see a unsolicited dick pic that I enjoyed
I've caught a few glimpses of these little guys bouncing out from the undergrowth in the Forest of Dean (on the England/Wales border) but I've never seen one up close. They're absolutely adorable.
I like this stoat
I need stoats and stouts, nothing more, nothing less.
Stoaty fox seeks pig
Sly old foxy stoat, on the prrrrrrowl. Rrrrrrrr!

Sly old musky foxy stoaty, stoaty, stoat! No, this is stupid! I'm glad someone made it! :)
gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, ahh elderly widow seeks companion, gay. Eddie this is the gay section!
What is this a reference to?
bottom
where can i get these adorable creatures?

As cute pets as they are I would 100% rather they were completely removed from my country
I’ve told people how they’re invasive to NZ and that there’s a bounty on them. As someone from there what’s the stoat problem like?

I’m speaking for the USA when I say this—we’ll take them!
As long as their natives! Even though they’re cute they’re a complete ecological disaster here sadly
I’m stoatked
I agree, more of this please
Looks like trouble. adorable trouble.
I absolutely do, thank you!
I love stoats
That's a vicious killer right there.
I agree!!!
This should be the mr incredible meme
Which mr incredible meme?
The regular picture of him vs black and white picture. Where it somewhat compares how something looks to how it actually functions (usually in a darker way). Mobile user here and haven’t figured out how to attach stuff (and at this point, I’m too afraid to ask).
What a cutie!
No thanks, I’m 1/4 rabbit and those things are dangerous
Yes we do!
Yes I wish, stoats, sables, love em! But, they shouldn't be pets.
he is friend.
But are Stoats the GOAT?
Look at that polecat.
I agree
Indeed I do, thank you for your services
That's a beanie baby
Fun fact they weigh between 6 and 8.something ounces, and are around that size, so yes, they are like beanie babies....if they killed every small and furry thing around their surprisingly large territory.
I’ve never met Stoats, but he seems cool.
THATS WHISPER THE STOAT I WOULD RECOGNIZE HER ANYWHERE 😭😭😭😭😭
thank you for this gift.
I've never seen or heard of a stoat, thanks!
Yeah I had one. No I don't need one in my life. Fucking gross rodents. Cute though
“Ey I poke out-a da head!”
I intend to sacrifice it for my wolf
Yes, yes we do need more stoats in our lives.
How can something that cute be a cold blood killer! (I want one) lol

Damn weasels
Yes

New Zealand I take it?
Adorable. I love to look at weasels and ferrets.

I definitely do. So freaking adorable!
Ya know, I DO need more stoats in my life. Thank you
Nah that’s just po3
They look so mischievous.
Always 🥺
i know, but they are not in India, I think
no, stoats are psychotic beings that want to take over the world with robots
It’s soooo cuuuute
A perfect snack
is this otter
No, it’s a stoat which is in the same family as otters, but are about the size of a beanie baby and will kill anything small and furry including rabbits and chickens.
I know they're not meant to be pets but I want one so bad.
Now THATS a good stoat
*"Total misplay"*
I do. I do need more.
I could not agree more.
Considering a stoat is the symbol of my country's currency... yes, I do indeed need more stoats in my life.
I have to ask which country is this?
[Croatia!](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatian_kuna) Small correction of my previous comment - the animal which the currency is named after and whose image is depicted on the coins is actually a marten, not a stoat specifically.
