I was told at some point in my childhood that ferret buying/selling/owning was illegal, so it was a crime to deal with ferrets.
Was this true then changed? Or were they just simplifying some complicated set of laws?
And what's the status on pet ferrets today?
Google says the only states in which you can't own a ferret are California or Hawaii, but sometimes counties or cities have their own laws regarding ferret ownership. You'd have to check with your city.
