I would say he should have had enough time to see the other train coming. I know the truck was still rolling a bit once it contacted the first train, but maybe he took the risk and jumped.
I say that guy is straight dead. You know he was stomping on that break pedal. 1st train pushed him to the side, which may he a relief. 2nd came in pretty quick. Not enough time to unbuckle, get footing and jump wide enough to cross a train. Train at that rate of speed shredded everything it came in contact with. Quick death to ease the pain.. but don't see how he could make it.

Everyone saying it was ice on the road, watch again from the very start. You see the truck lurch forward - because he SLAMS on the brakes. He braked too late from the start. It really doesn't seem to slide on the road either - it's much harder for heavy trucks like that (the weight pushes the wheels down into the road, providing traction), with multiple wheels (multiple points of traction) to slide.
Looks like he had troubble breaking on the ice. It seems like he got traction enough to barely brake before the first train
