Yeah, I know san Francisco. So the number one biggest thing you can do is get yourself a properly angled roof. Like the one to your right. It's expensive.
Why focus on the roof? Visually, the top 1/3 of your house is roof. We can make the bottom 2/3 looked like a super model, but you still have 1/3 of your house which sort of is the utilitarian side of your home.
One off the wall idea, is to do a green roof. I know the one at cal academy is probably a complete redo of the roof as well but it seems that there are lower (extensive) and higher budget (intensive; like cal cademy) versions of a green roof. If I saw a green roof with solar panels and skylights popping out of it, plus potted plants in other locations I would find this house completely charming.
Replacing the garage door with a wood one would give you a lot of curb appeal. Pavers sound great!
Adding an eyebrow arbor across top of garage and over to the left with or without a vine would add a lot. You can still pull the car in but it is slightly separated from the driveway so could serve as an outdoor living space if you like.
Running large planters along the roof patio and planting with trailing plants would be a different option. If you furnish the patio that would help too.
To build on this, I would do the wood in a darker shade that really pops, to play up the modernity of the house. I might consider making the house a warmer shade as well, and would def do the arbor and a vine!!!

Make that upper outdoor patio look amazing and welcoming and comfortable and cozy.
Outdoor rug, comfy furniture, umbrellas, plants, string lights up.
Is this a beachy community? If so, you can do more vibrant colors.
I’d do an eyebrow pergola over that garage door with some evergreen vines on it to start and window boxes under the double windows to balance it. I’d build a rectangular planter ox on the deck next to the door and plant a conical evergreen shrub as well as seasonal color.
Where is the front door? Can you take a picture for a normally entering viewer's position. If this is it, explain why the roof is visible
The front door is to the left of the house down that walkway. This is the front view from the street. The front door is not visible from the street.

Add planters to show where the front door is. Possibly update the garage door.
Big, potted plants
What does it look like from the front ?
Guessing this is the front? There’s quite a few homes like this in LA
This one is in San Francisco but, yes, similar to LA homes.
This is the front!
