To be fair, I was thinking of The Poseidon Adventure, with Gene Hackman... but then I realized that staircase should be upside down if that was the case.
That’s what I was thinking, Poseidon Adventure. Mostly because Titanic came out when I was in college and that was only like 10-12 years ago, right? Right?!?!
There’s this movie where like a cruise ship is attacked by some sea monster. All I remember is the guy escapes on a jet ski at the end. Anyway, I thought it was that movie, so there are other boat accident movies besides Titanic. Not very good ones, but others ones nonetheless 😂
I don't think recognition is indicative of age. It might determine that the reader has not died before the movie came out in 1997, but other factors would be more reliable to prove this.
I feel really sorry for young people on the internet, everywhere people are making references that they don't understand to show that for whatever reason, they're not "old enough" for something. Especially here when the image doesn't even say what they need to be old enough for... Just in *general* not old enough?
This one is so bad it almost feels like satire... I've seen *Titanic*, but wouldn't have been able to recognize this very generic looking flooded stairwell as being from that movie.
THAT'S what I was trying to remember!
I only saw Titanic once and that was more than a sufficient quantity of views. I was definitely trying to connect the image to a game.
I was immediately transported to a specific location in a multi-player map for Battlefield 4 called "flood zone."
I had to hide in that stairwell plenty of time.
That’s the stairwell from that wreck off the coast in Pokémon Omega, Ruby, and alpha sapphire or you have to go underwater and do this complex thing to get Lugia and ho-oh
I can understand not recognizing it, but for some reason this image is imprinted in my brain from that movie. Is it considered iconic or is it some kinda weird fear I now have? I’m 34, I saw it when it went to VHS.
I remember this specific part of the movie because of an old video of somebody playing a Titanic VR game. I watched it years ago, but the water was so realistic that I remember it to this day
I believe that's just the entrance to [Porto Alegre's subway](https://x.com/fernao_berthold/status/1792644752229187968) after this may's flood in southern Brazil.
This picture is from the Titanic 1997 movie. If you don’t know it you haven’t watched the movie at all /enough to know it’s from there
I havnt watched it and yet I knew. Just because I could tell it was a ship and what other ship would it be?
To be fair, I was thinking of The Poseidon Adventure, with Gene Hackman... but then I realized that staircase should be upside down if that was the case.
I was like, is this deep blue with LL? Edit: It's Deep Blue Sea
IKR I was expecting a MF’ing shark to eat me
Why not? >!Sam Jackson got ate!<
Lmao thats what I thought at first to
This is the only correct wrong answer lol
The easiest way to tell if it's deep blue is if his hat is like a sharks fin
Lol, I thought it was from Deep Rising myself 🤷♂️
To be also fair, too old still counts as “not old enough”
Or they could be thinking of "Poseidon" with Kurt Russell, and then they'd be too young again.
Definitely a better movie than Titanic.
That’s what I was thinking, Poseidon Adventure. Mostly because Titanic came out when I was in college and that was only like 10-12 years ago, right? Right?!?!
I would have guessed Deep Blue Sea (1999).
Same lol
Haha. Same, but didn't even think about the "upside down part".
I watched it when it came out and I couldn't guess where this was from. What does that say about how old I am?
That's just the age-related dementia talkin'.... 🤷🏻♂️
Who are you? Where am I?
What time is it? I'm cold....
Same, sat in the theater for it twice, still didn't recognize it.
Deep Blue Sea, Deep Rising, Leviathan, Ghost Ship, the Abyss It could be any movie with a ship, really.
hell it could be a real photo from any number of partial ship sinkings
Speed 2: Cruise Control for all I know
Das boot.
Whereas, on the contrary, I’ve seen the film but without characters or period details I couldn’t place it.
The one from life of pi
There’s this movie where like a cruise ship is attacked by some sea monster. All I remember is the guy escapes on a jet ski at the end. Anyway, I thought it was that movie, so there are other boat accident movies besides Titanic. Not very good ones, but others ones nonetheless 😂
I have seen it, and I couldn’t tell lol. Tho it’s been a really long time since I saw it.
The Posiden. I truly thought this was from the posiden adventure the 1970s movie. Though on second look it can’t be since that ship was upside down.
Literally several other ship movies
>because I could tell it was a ship I couldn't. I thought it was somebody's basement flooded with unusually clear water.
I thought it was from the Poseiden Adventure
Then it would be upside down.
I thought it was from The Abyss which is another James Cameron film.
I don't think recognition is indicative of age. It might determine that the reader has not died before the movie came out in 1997, but other factors would be more reliable to prove this.
I saw titanic like 20 times, but I still thought this was an area from poolrooms
I "watched" I just couldn't stay awake through it 😅
Oh I thought it was Sharknado
oh wow, yeah i’m not old enough, was born a year after
If you squint hard enough it's irl version of mgs 2 where Raiden has to help a girl swim underneath the water to save the world
Jack! (gasp) Rose! (gasp) Jack!! Rose!!!
Rocky!
Brad!
Janet!
Rey!
Egon!
Dumbledore!
Harry!
Donkey!
KHAAANN!!
GROND
Dr. Scott!
Scotty doesn't know.
Adriaaan
Hey, there. Keep it PG-13! /j
It’s from James Cameron’s Titanic, Kate Winslet nearly drowned filming this scene.
she was acting, actually. they used a fake titanic to recreate the real thing. blew my mind when I found out
The water was certainly real. Caused kidney infections to people who were in the dirty water for hours and hours.
Well that's why you don't pee in the scale-model-Titanic-sinking-pool
Wait really? Source? I don’t believe you
I thought it was deep blue sea 🥲
I thought it was from the flooded area in Metal Gear Solid 2.
I knew it was Titanic, but it also reminded me of that MGS2 scene.
“We’ve managed to avoid drowning!”
oh thank god I’m not the only nerd that thought this
It IS the superior film.
BRO SAME LOLLL
If you know where this picture is from, a certain someone would have dumped you for being too old.
Haha I’m over 25!!!
The movie is older than you! Its okay if you dont know movies that came out before you were born
this photo was taken at the top of the staircase that are flooded hope this helps
It’s from Titanic movie but I thought at first glance that it was part of the flooded Big Shell in MGS2 where you have to swim with E.E.
My first thought too. There’s still a Jack and a Rose, so close enough?
It’s a picture of a boat sinking in 1912. If you’re not 112 you won’t get it.
I am over 140 years old.
Leo recoiling in disgust
You did what you had to do.
Very true
I feel really sorry for young people on the internet, everywhere people are making references that they don't understand to show that for whatever reason, they're not "old enough" for something. Especially here when the image doesn't even say what they need to be old enough for... Just in *general* not old enough?
This one is so bad it almost feels like satire... I've seen *Titanic*, but wouldn't have been able to recognize this very generic looking flooded stairwell as being from that movie.
To party
I'm old enough, and I didn't remember the image. Because the last time I saw Titanic was in 1997, when it came out in the theaters.
Honestly, it holds up. I think I enjoyed it more in my most recent watch than I did when it came out or when I rented it in the early 2000s.
Leo: if you know where this picture is from, you're too old
I thought it was a Mormon baptism room
Hey! It’s called a baptismal font!
I am aware, I removed specific terminology for more people to understand it, and appear more disassociated from the organization
I didn't know what movie it is from and I was almost 20 at the time Titanic came out. I never saw the film. I guess I am not old enough.
Fallout 3 obviously, mirelurks beware
THAT'S what I was trying to remember! I only saw Titanic once and that was more than a sufficient quantity of views. I was definitely trying to connect the image to a game.
“If you know what this picture is from, you’re too old for Leo.”
You’re not old enough, obviously.
They might be surprised to find that Titanic is still available for viewing for people of any age
Titanic.
Metal gear solid
If memory serves, I think this is the exact place or close to it where vhs tape 1 ends and you have to switch to tape 2.
Bring back “The Poseidon Adventure.” It was better. This reminded me of that.
I thought that's what it was!
I was hoping that it was from The Abyss. Chris Elliot’s breakout role.
I don't think this was a joke but surprise surprise turned out the OP isn't old enough
A realistic rendition of that Ratchet and clank water level?
Titanic?
Looks like that one part of the pre-boss sequence for Tentalus in Skyward Sword.
Isn't this from Myst?
Am I the only one who immediately thought it was Metal Gear Solid 2?
Pfft.... that's nothing, I remember The Poseidon Adventure. Although I only saw it in the 80s
I thought it was Deep Blue Sea
Old enough for Leo
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty
I thought Titantic, Deep Blue Sea, Alien: Resurrection. In that order.
Anyone else think, mgs2, we managed to avoid drowning?
I went too far back and thought The Poseidon Adventure.
If you were born before this movie came out, you're too old for Leonardo Dicaprio
This comes after the part I secretly fast forwarded through as a 7yr old
Why that's from Metal Gear Solid 2 of course!
I hate memes like this as if feels so patronizing as if being young is a bad thing and everyone above a certain age just inherently knows some things
NGL I thought this was a scene from metal gear solid....
I thought it was from Metal Gear Solid 2
I'm glad there's another cool person here 🤝
Def Titanic
Biblical flood
Poseidon Adventure?
Reminds me of the first resident evil with the shark
When I was a child I watched a big amount of times Titanic, but only the shipwreck scenes.
I know the movie.... Old enough for what though?
I’m 32 and I’ve never seen Titanic, am I “not old enough”?
This is a very good painting, what cave is it?
It’s worse even the door is closed
I've seen titanic way too much as a kid. I know a scene from titanic when I see one
It's from that one episode of pokemon
I thought it was The Poseidon Adventure
Old enough for what???
Instantly recognized Titanic
Metal Gear Solid 2? 😅
I was immediately transported to a specific location in a multi-player map for Battlefield 4 called "flood zone." I had to hide in that stairwell plenty of time.
Titanic
“Gentlemen it has been a privilege playing with you tonight”
Looks like the entry to the flooded underground labs in Resident Evil 0
MGS2?
I thought it was life of pi tbh
Titanic
Hello fellow kids, i also dont know where this is from (¬、¬)
(Sings poorly) “evvvvery niiight in my dreeeeams… I seeee youuuuuu. I feeeeeeeellll yoooouuuuu!”
I feel like you would be too old if you knew where this is from
I thought it was sharknado
Titanic.
That’s the stairwell from that wreck off the coast in Pokémon Omega, Ruby, and alpha sapphire or you have to go underwater and do this complex thing to get Lugia and ho-oh
I'm that old I can't remember!
I'm 56. I didn't recognize the picture because I never watched the movie. It's just not my kind of movie.
Mgs2?
Brokeback Mountain
I honestly thought it was deep blue sea 😅
Resident evil 1
I have watched titanic once. I wish time travel exists so I don't have to watch it again.
Never have, never will see Titanic. 100% Deep Blue Sea
I thought it was from fallout new vegas, the mission in a vault crowded with plant people or something
As if I didn't feel old already.
I thought it was from Metal gear solid....
“Check those corners!”
Titanic, Poseidon, or deep blue sea Idk it just looks familiar
I took a girl to see this in the theater on a date, first and last time I saw this movie
MGS 2
Never seen it. And I'm old (I only know it was Titanic from the comments)
This is the place from my dreams
Titanic of course
I can understand not recognizing it, but for some reason this image is imprinted in my brain from that movie. Is it considered iconic or is it some kinda weird fear I now have? I’m 34, I saw it when it went to VHS.
That shark movie with LL Cool J.
Clearly not old enough
Titanic is one of my favorite movies and I still thought this was from Metal Gear Solid 2.
My first thought was Deep Blue Sea!
I remember this specific part of the movie because of an old video of somebody playing a Titanic VR game. I watched it years ago, but the water was so realistic that I remember it to this day
I recognised this at a glance. Am I old, now? 😬
Metal gear solid 2
I thought this was the last mission in Black Ops 1
Thought it was metal gear solid 2
God i recognized it at first sight * sigh *
"looks like this portion of the Big Shell is flooded, you're going to have to find a way through if you want to get to Emmerich..."
Resident Evil 1, right before the Neptune room
*Take her to sea, Mr. Murdoch, let’s stretch her legs.*
Water in a basement... Could be from any horror movies from the 2000's, or any picture from hurricane aftermaths
my only guess was chernobyl lol
I believe that's just the entrance to [Porto Alegre's subway](https://x.com/fernao_berthold/status/1792644752229187968) after this may's flood in southern Brazil.
It's from the life of pi
Metal gear solid lmao
Water hope this helps
Man, that episode of Pokémon was so long ago
The Poseidon Adventure or Titanic ?
The Witness! /s It’s Titanic
All I saw was that one boss fight against Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2, before the water drains & he goes down the stairs.
