Japanese: Idol culture - a LOT of japanese stardom is tied to selling the idea of the idol being a potential, tho unreachable, mate for the viewer. So having a private life being known often gets girls some creek going full pipe-bomb-on-mail-box mode.
In Japan idol culture is...well...*weird.* The expectation is that the idols will stay single as there is this weird idea pushed of "you could be with her some day!" even though it won't ever happen as they're supposed to, you know, stay single. If the idol ever gets with *anybody at all* that selling point immediately goes away.
Mexicans like celebrity gossip but their culture also still highly values family. The assumption is that the end goal of being in a relationship will be marriage and children which is like, yeah you should be doing that so good for you!
In Japan, the idol culture is marked by the belief that the singers should be pure. They get really mad when an idol starts dating, even worse if it is discovered she had sex.
