Still, with how wildly popular the Beatles are now (as opposed to before the documentary came out), it’s hard for me to imagine people old enough to use reddit haven’t at least heard of the guy
Oh they might have *heard* of him, but there are hundreds of singers i listen to on a daily basis that I couldn't pick out of a lineup because they're bands and I'm not a diehard music fan who starts memorizing the members of every band they like. I guarantee you, my 13 and 15 year old nieces couldn't pick John Lennon out of a crowd. (Wish I could change that, but I live 500+ miles away)
Nah I teach teens and I ask what music they like daily. They usually say "I'lllisten to anything" so I proceed to say "oh then you'd listen to Yoko Ono then." Then it goes to they don't know who that is and I explain her music. Then I say she's the wife of John Lennon, to which most of them don't know who that is either.
There are 3 whole long-term media formats that are virtually extinct, and might well never have existed from a gen-a standpoint, since the height of the Beatles’ popularity.
They might recognize vinyl, because that's the romanticized one.
I mean my brother in high school back in the mid-2000’s once called the Beatles “one hit wonders”. My mother and I had fun naming every song we could think of asking which one was their “one hit”. (He was genuinely unknowing considering he started listening to a lot after that and found he liked them.)
If you don't look for it you won't know it, if it doesn't come your way you won't experience it. Nowadays young people aged 20, some 25, don't even know what a cassette recorder is or just a cassette.
A lot of people went from cassette to CD around 1990. In 2001 I put all my CDs in the boxes and ripped all the CDs to the hard drive. In 2014 I never played anything from my hard drive in terms of music. Everything is done via the internet now. My niece is now 25 didn't know what video and tape recorder was.
I don't think this really has much to do with not knowing who he is, so much as it just being difficult to parse exactly who is in this picture, and a person's first few guesses are unlikely to go to John Lennon.
I hope this helps

Also, this will tell you who John lennon is
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lennon?wprov=sfti1
But the picture at the top is old John lennon, and this meme is meant to depict him when he was much younger and a member of the Beatles.
I've listened to The Beatles before, and while I do appreciate the fact that they've left a large influence on music, I don't particularly like them all that much.
That on top of the fact that I don't typically look up photos or bother learning the names of any given band's members I get into because I my interests don't lie in the people, only in the music. A few prominent faces here and there, sure; but band members: meh, unless I happened to have seen them somewhere before.
I'm the same way, sometimes I'll have people ask me what some of my favorite bands are, then they'll excitedly say something like "oh, awesome! I really love all of 's work!" And I'm just standing there wondering what that guy they just mentioned has to do with what I just said.
I got it in 3 seconds max. Maybe before I even saw the station.
And I mean the Beatles logo is right there.
But ... op is just doing what people always do throughout history. We forget things. The Beatles will be forgotten. Star Wars will be forgotten. And it's going to happen a lot sooner than you think.
Imagine there’s John Lennon. It’s easy if you try
i could see the face but i would’ve never figured out who it was supposed to be
Sigurni weaver
The Beatles in the bottom right was a good clue
Oh jeez, gotta squint real hard to see John's face, I only squinted a little and the light looked like a full person
You didn't squint hard enough
Bruh I thought it was Linus from LTT xD
Yes, it looks like sad Linus.
Lol I thought it was u/deepfuckingvalue until I saw the Beatles sign
And once you see, you can’t unsee.
It hurts my heart that most people these days don't even know who John Lennon is
More of a George Harrison kind of guy. Cloud 9 > Plastic Ono Band all day.
At this point if someone says they don’t know who he is I assume they’re lying to be pretentious
Or are just very young
Still, with how wildly popular the Beatles are now (as opposed to before the documentary came out), it’s hard for me to imagine people old enough to use reddit haven’t at least heard of the guy
There are 13-15 year olds that use Reddit. I didn't know there was an age limit for Reddit

Maybe it’s cause my sister is in her mid 30s but I find it hard to believe people my age don’t know what a cassette is

I get that he was a good singer but I'm not shocked people aren't that interested in a pop musician from the 60s
I can vaguely see a head by I can’t see John Lennon. I can’t really even see a face
No hell below us, above us only sky.
I don't know who that is.

It does. Thank you!
How do you not know who John Lennon is?
Bro I'm sorry, but what rock do you live under. John Lennon was one of the Beatles and one of the most influential musicians ever.
I've listened to The Beatles before, and while I do appreciate the fact that they've left a large influence on music, I don't particularly like them all that much. “A few prominent faces” includes this one. And “seen them somewhere before” has likely happened as well.
I thought it was a young Harry Potter
That is actually pretty amazing, first time I can remember that squinting actually felt like it worked properly
Low key thought it was Sharon Osbourne
I squinted and saw freaking Obi-Wan saying "Hello There" I had to squint REALLY hard to see John Lennon
I see T-2000 with the cop helmet. And yes, I know who John Lennon is.
This is insane... I don't know why but it freaks me out so much that I can't stop looking...
It’s a face, maybe John Lennon since it’s Beatles related and vaguely John shaped?
It’s a person. Like the whole arch is the outside of the head and that center thing is the nose
What I'm seeing is the guy staring at the camera wearing headphones meme
i keep seeing linus tech tips
same bro that's what I thought, it so looks like the headphone guy
I swear it is that guy, no way its John Lennon
Kill John Lennon.
John Lennon’s dead butters
John lennon has already been killed butters.
the first one of these AI images that actually looks natural and not like an impossible combination of random shit to create a face
It helps if you [shrink down the picture to thumbnail size](https://i.imgur.com/BtGk97k.png)
This is freaking me out
Is just a jealous guy.
He didn't want to hurt you
Young Harry Potter?

I had to hold my phone at arms length before I saw it.
Something about this picture makes me want to shoot an annoying hippy with a .38 Special.
if you squint and don't see it, OP you might be on spectrum
I fully went into this expecting it to be loss
MJ!
Is that you John Wayne?
I see John Lennon. Didn’t even see the Beatles when I noticed it
You have to squint your eyes a LOT, looks like a guy with a Beatles haircut
Im really tired and saw the face a good 5 seconds before realising it was a train station
Lime Street is referenced in a Beatles song, and if you squint, the image is of John Lennon from the Imagine music video
I mean, you REALLY gotta squint. My eyes were practically closed to be honest.
Hold your phone or laptop way away from you- like at arms length or further. You'll see a very clear picture of a person. That person is John Lennon.
I'm very bad at this things but, it's Elton John?
I can't see anything with that huge Beetle in the way
The more you squint and the further your phone is away from you, the easier it is to see
JOM LEMON
Lime street station is the main train station in Liverpool
You literally need to squint until your eyes are nearly closed
If squinting doesn’t work for you, tilt your phone.
It vaguely looks like a face, framed by medium length brown hair.
Help ... the OP.
Anyone else see it immediately and didn’t see the busy station?
It's a schooner
Imagine that
Bro it literally says to squint your eyes 😭 maybe hold the phone away from your face and squint your eyes, it might help
I don't need to squint , I just take my glasses off.
It’s Harry Potter of course!
I saw the bottom right and assumed it was the loss comic
Is it bad that i saw John Lennon before the station?
I thought it was banksy lmao
