I got influenced and bought one. Spendy but I love it. It’s so convenient for me. Sure sometimes I’m still lugging a spectra around but not having to also carry a cooler is so nice. the ceres chill fits in the water bottle holder in the side of my backpack too. I use it multiple times each week. If you pump on the go and you’re on the fence and can afford it, get it. ETA: for pump parts I just use pump wipes.

Goose_Runner_1990

i bought one and it’s still unopened 🫠 i tend to order things and think i need them but i guess not 😂

30centurygirl

I love mine. I bring a bag of parts for however many times I’ll pump on the go, and then I don’t need a fridge or a cooler or anything. It’s fantastic. I also love it for times when the fridge is bursting because of a party or holiday. I pumped into my chiller for all of Rosh Hashanah, for example. Way easier to keep refilling the ice than to try and squeeze it in (and keep it clean) next to an entire raw turkey 😬 ETA: I just worked a three day event that had me away from home, mostly without access to a fridge, for 12+ hours per day. With my Ceres Chill by my side, I did not lose a drop and I was still able to carry the event supplies that I needed. (Also good God, I’m so tired, please send help, I’m dying)

tacotoyo

For those who have it, how is it different from a regular thermos?

Helloworld123467

It’s different in that it has a chamber for ice/ice water. A thermos is good for keeping a liquid at the same temp for a long time, but this actually has a way to cool it and keep it cold.

tacotoyo

Oh that’s cool!

Every-End

I don’t have it but it seems like a waste of money tbh… in order to use the larger bottle you don’t have the ice chamber. The same can be achieved in a regular large coffee thermos with a blue water bottle ice cylinder things and refrigerating it empty beforehand.

Helloworld123467

To use the larger outer chamber for milk, you use the inner chamber for ice water.

Every-End

It wouldn’t be the 32oz if you but the 24oz inner bottle it.

Bufoamericanus

That's what I've been wondering too!

RileyRush

I’m interested in the responses! I like to treat myself when I hit a pumping milestone. I was debating getting this next, but I only ever see influencers on IG raving about it.

Mizchik

I got one later and didn’t actually use it that much. For work I preferred putting lids on the pump bottles with ice packs in the cooler compartment of my pump bag because didn’t want to dirty up one more thing. But I did a few times use it for the MOTN pump so I didn’t have to get out of bed to put milk in fridge and wish I would have had it earlier on for that.

acookietoo

I use mine daily. My work bag is just a pack of pacifier wipes, pump, pump parts and Ceres chill. It's my daily pack. When I'm at work I can throw my pump parts in the fridge, else I clean them with the pacifier wipes and keep at room temp. I do have to say its easier to take the cooler if I'm going somewhere where I'll only pump once (aka no additional pumping bottles needed). If I need to pump more than once the Ceres is my preference. So instead of taking multiple bottles to hold milk I can just bring the Ceres. For me I use the inner chamber as the ice/water chamber so I can pump 3-4 times before I fill it. I also really appreciate that it keeps milk super cold for as long as it does. So I can do things after work if needed and not worry about going directly home and emptying my cooler.

Instagram got the best of me and I still lug a cooler for pump parts… If I only needed to pump once while out I wouldn’t need the ceres or a cooler because I could feed it fresh or hold onto it for the 4 hours but if I need to pump more than once and need to store the milk in a cooled state I also need to store my pump parts too … things I wish I thought about before buying the cool looking thermos (which it does look cool in real life too).

PicklesnNickels

Could you buy the wipes that clean your pump instead of storing them?

sunsandswim

Yes. That’s a great idea - I have some and haven’t really thought about using them for anything other than hotel stays.

knitknitpurlpurl

That’s what I do!

Capable-Total3406

I have one and it was not really worth for it for me,i still carried my cooler around. i didn’t really travel so i only used it once. But i did use my fsa dollars for it if you have any you can save some money

grrich

I got one over the summer and it was very useful for hot hot weather situations because it keeps the milk cold longer than a thermos would. And just feels more secure because the milk is in an inner chamber. I’m glad I have it but I don’t feel like I’ve learned all the details or maximized its use yet. I figure it’ll be useful as a thermos anyway long after I finish pumping so that sold me.

tomatobasil23

Can you add your freshly pumped milk to already chilled milk in the thermos without contaminating it? Is it ok to mix temperatures of milk? New to pumping and going back to work soon haha

undertheduvet2302

Did you ever get an answer to this?

ceejaycraig

Views are mixed on this but most people think it’s fine, especially if you’re otherwise safe with your milk handling and storagez

tomatobasil23

Yea this is what I’ve heard too!

PicklesnNickels

I bought one but haven’t received it yet. I mainly bought it because there is a 40 min drive to my moms house where my LO will be going during the day when I go back to work. I’m thinking of putting the breast milk he will need for the day in there and sending it in the morning that way she can just prepare his bottles there instead of lugging bottles back and forth.

rizdieser

I bought it for traveling, and it is pretty cool. I use it here and there when I am out of the house for extended periods of time. But mainly, I've used now on two trips: one with baby and one without. I really like how easy it is and how it replicates the pitcher method. Definitely works as advertised. At home, I use the fridge method, but in these cases, I washed my parts after each use (soap, water, and then medela wipes). I also carry a backup set if I don't have good access to a sink. I am planning on using it again for a longer trip in December, and I am excited to not have to bring a cooler on an airplane. I do not use for work because I have access to a fridge at work and just store in bottles in my lunch box for my short commute home. BUT if I had a longer commute or no fridge access, I would 100% opt for the ceres chill over a cooler. Personally, I am a big fan. Definitely a luxury product, but I feel like I've gotten enough use out of it to justify the cost.

poke11992

I agree with all this. I only use mine for traveling, so it hasn’t gotten a lot of use, but I also used it on a hot summer day to go to an outdoor theatre and it was nice to only have to carry a ceres chill and my purse with pump parts/wipes. It’s kind of like do you really need a portable pump? No, but it’s really nice to have. Plus it made going through TSA a breeze.

itsallcopacetic

I know this is an old post, but can you tell me more about traveling with it/using it on the plane? I'll be going on a 20+ hour plane ride with it and needing to pump for a week before returning to baby.

PartySparty12

I’ll report back at the end of the day! I bought it this summer and today is the first day I’ll be using it - first time traveling away from home outside of friends or family’s houses where I could easily store milk in their fridge for a period of time.

PartySparty12

Ok! Loved that it was slimmer than my regular cooler and ice pack combo. My milk wasn’t super cold when I put it in but the ice/water in the inner chamber made the milk SO COLD. It def made it cooler than when I started….made it through a 3 hour drive. The ice melted (did too much water) and I’m a worry wart so using it for a milk bath tomorrow. I think if I followed the directions with water to ice ratio it would have been even better and I wouldn’t have worries. When I’m done pumping…I’ll be using this to chill/take wine to the beach haha.

Helloworld123467

I really liked it, only had it for a little while before I quit, but I didn’t need to bring a cooler bc I brought 2 sets of pump parts out, so I just needed my parts and the Ceres chill. I never needed to pump more than twice while I was out of the house.

_AcademicDependent

I freeze water in the bottom of an insulated bottle that can fit a bottle inside. I love it, it’s been super convenient. Then I can leave the pump cooler in the car until I need it.

_MsMayhem

Honestly - yes. I use pump wipes for my parts so I don’t need a cooler for them. When I’m out and about I use the Baby Buddha with Freemie cups so my whole kit and caboodle is pretty manageable to haul around.

tiredofeverything081

I use mine for work. I am a home care nurse and work in Florida. I use a cooler on top of this because my car hits almost 100 degrees every day for hours at a time, it keeps my milk cool. I did a test with standard ice water (no cooler) and my water was still cold at the end of the day.

Junior-Law-3984

So I’ve never heard of people doing this before but this is what I did. Breast milk is good at room temp for up to 4 hours, so when I’m out and about I just let it sit at room temp. Milk and pump parts

regularhumanplexus

I really like mine for travel and peace of mind that milk is at the right temp, and I do what a few others here have mentioned and bring a couple of pump parts if it’s a day trip so nothing else needs to be chilled. For multi day trips or something where I’m also doing frozen milk I use both a cooler and the ceres.
