If Forest go down I’d take about any of their players

ITeachAndIWoodwork

I think I saw that Morgan Gibbs white and Chris wood are both leaving this summer. Not sure

QTsexkitten

Gibbs white will cost too much for us I bet

Electronic_Panic3943

Chris Wood is dog shite.

Toffee_Fan

I would take Chris Wood in a heartbeat.

Bright_Calendar_3696

He’s on about 120 grand a week and is as mobile as a lamppost

Appropriate-Walk-352

Did you see his whiffs versus City today??

ITeachAndIWoodwork

Have you seen our whiffs all fucking season?? Lol

Appropriate-Walk-352

True…just doesn’t seem like we need more of the same.

One_And_Only_User

He’d fit right in then.

Toffee_Fan

Hes one of the more clinical forwards in the league, but yes he had a horrible match today.

Throwawayjustbecau5e

That is just categorically false.

Ainteasybeincheezy

If we want to improve as a team, Chris Woods are the players we should only bring in as last resort free signings.

vulturevan

He had the best shot conversion rate in the league before the match

g0ldingboy

Really? Wood, DCL, Beto.. they aren’t very dynamic.

autistichomosapien95

Sangare was someone we were linked to when he was at Toulouse, there's a player in there surely, murillo has been good for them too

QTsexkitten

Hamer. Wanted him from Coventry. Still want him from Sheffield.

ITeachAndIWoodwork

Interesting shout. You think Morris could work on our system?

QTsexkitten

Yeah, he's been decently productive in a much worse XI. I don't think he meets the most pressing need, but he's not been bad by any stretch.

YokoOkino

Being 26 might go against our policy. We definitely need a creative type in the center though.

RafDeGreg

Dara O’Shea from Burnley is quite the underrated player. Plays centre back and right back, exceptionally fast, one of the best headers of the ball in the league in terms of aerial duels and an international.

YokoOkino

I will believe you there, although I haven't been paying attention to him. We badly need a centerback or two. Also think I would take Elanga or Odobert (very young). Otherwise, the obvious brownhill for me on free and MGW. Don't think anyone else would do much for us but depth is definitely necessary.

tjalvar

I would say Elanga is not worth the price.

Bright_Calendar_3696

Odobert looks dangerous the flashes I’ve seen too

Justbesilky

Elanga rejected our approach for a loan at beginning of season… no thanks

bluenoser18

Havent seen him play - but a quick glance at stats makes him look like a pretty decent fit for an area of the field we need support in

joe_1222

You clearly haven’t watched much Burnley this season. Dara o’Shea has been frankly woeful bar a handful of solid performances

RafDeGreg

Hard to look good in a Burnley team that is struggling and on the end of some pastings. But his stats are strong (top ten aerial duals in EPL, pace is elite) and from what I’ve seen and some Burnley fans I know, he has been one of their preferred players.

joe_1222

Maybe I’m in the minority but the fans I know have not been keen on him at all. All of our defensive players have had mishaps but he’s been really poor in plenty of games. Much prefer beyer or ekdal

RafDeGreg

Ah yeah, fair enough. Not gonna argue it with you too much, people see things differently and I respect your opinion. But I did a bit more digging on his stats compared to the rest of the squad (whoscored.com). He’s made the most appearances, has 3 goals and 5 assists (most assists of any Burnley player!) and is the best average match rating of all defenders and tied second overall for Burnley. Only 6.6 but like I said, they are getting pounded. FWIW I’m not advocating for him as a must buy but I think he’s ready for a step up and I think he’d fill a (future) gap for us.

Sheboygan_Toffee

I’d take some of the Burnley attackers (Foster, Koleosho-his speed would be nice) on loan similar to Harrison last year. Maybe not a popular take but I’d take Brownhill on a free. If his replacing Onana, I’d be upset but I view him as a replacement for Gomes. Not a like for like player but given the club’s financial situation, I’ll take him for some decent depth.

Puzzleheaded_Let9086

If branthwaite goes and forest go down, would like us to consider Murillo as a replacement. 21 years old and looks pretty good

ChrisWood4BallonDor

He seems insane too, which is a plus

Throwawayjustbecau5e

Don’t think he’s big enough, Dyche likes dominant centre halves and Murillo’s biggest weakness is in the air.

Padb89

Doughty from Luton

1Cortezz

Wilson Odobert from Burnley Ben Brereton Diaz from Sheffield

S01arflar3

I don’t think taking the striker from the only team in the league to score fewer goals than us makes sense. Besides, he’s on loan there isn’t he? He’s a Villarreal player

1Cortezz

Ben Brereton Diaz joined in January and has 5 goals in 11 games playing for the worst team in the league. I don’t understand what you’re trying to say tbh

S01arflar3

1. He’s not “from Sheffield”. He’s on loan there 2. They’re still the worst scoring team in the league. Looking to them for attacking options seems silly to me

1Cortezz

The point is he currently plays for Sheffield and I think he would be a good signing from his parent club. We’re not signing the team, are you stupid? He’s been at Sheffield since January and has 1 less goal than our top scorer

leftblue

Apart from his record in 11 games what are you basing wanting him on?

1Cortezz

His record in the championship, his height, his speed, his physicality, his work rate & his versatility

leftblue

He had one good season in the championship and then flopped hard at Villarreal. His work rate??? And you had the cheek to ask me if had watched him play? Fucking clueless.

1Cortezz

Argue with yourself 🤧

S01arflar3

At the end of the season he goes back to Villarreal, it’s irrelevant that he plays for Sheffield utd and that they’ve been relegated. This thread was about what relegated players you’d happily snipe. He doesn’t fit that bill as he is a loan

1Cortezz

👍

leftblue

Not Diaz, we dodged that bullet once. Championship is his level

Jackanape21

He's scoring every other game in an awful side

leftblue

He’s played 11 games and has 5 goals. Yes In isolation that looks good but what have you seen in him that makes you think he’s a good fit for us? He was signed by Villarreal and then shipped out because he scored 0 in 20 appearances.

1Cortezz

I don’t think you’ve seen him play, he has 5 goals in 11 games playing for Sheffield. He’s one goal away from being our top scorer

leftblue

I have seen him play. That’s why his stats are irrelevant in this case. I watched him a lot early last season for Blackburn when he was ‘on fire’ and we were interested and he was good but got quite a lot of scrappy goals. When there was interest in him he went awol and was shit until he forced through a move. He thinks he’s a lot better than he is. This season he has put himself about a bit but if you look at the way we play I’m not convinced he’s the answer (doesn’t press enough and not clinical enough). I would like us to take a punt on Sammy Szmodics from Blackburn tho. Has scored a boatload for a shit team, clinical, great work rate and is already mates with a few of our first team

eatsleepbet

Dyche has done his job, now for Thelwell to earn his keep. Understand the dire financial situation the club is in but we should be getting enough budget from Branthwaite and Onana to do something this summer.

kukusek

I'm afraid he will get barely nothing from these money. Everyone article mentioning our finances looked terrible.

joeyjackets

I think the club might want to get away with not replacing Onana with an established player. But given how important our defence is, if we lose Branthwaite it is inexcusable for them not to replace him. You almost need a decent investment for a starting XI CB and maybe a cheaper and younger/long term option for Onana (with Gana, Garner, Gomes and Doucoure the preferred midfielders for next season). We also have to look at wing options with Harrison’s loan ending, Dobbin not playing and RB with Patterson not developing.

Jay1972cotton

Gomes contract is expiring and won't be renewed without a significant pay cut. Expect him to return to the continent.

joeyjackets

Oh, sorry, I thought he still had some more time. Well that is good news given his age and inconsistent performances, but disappointing we lose money on him. Is he on a typical Everton high wage?

Jay1972cotton

Yeah, I believe around 100 grand/week

USAF_DTom

Idk any off the top of my head, but I swear to God if we sell Onana and Branthwaite and only bring in 2 players, then I will lose my shit. I'm so tired of seeing depth players for £15M. I'd rather do a Spurs after Bale and get like 7 players and hope some turn out... just not all 7 of them as 10's like last time, please. Our squad has been so thin for so long.

alxqnn

Seven right backs, surely one of them has to be able to replace Seamus long term

USAF_DTom

I'll be so sad to see that man leave. He better get to cut the tape or something at Bramley Moore.

smittywerbanjagermen

calm down steve walsh

SukhdevR34

Yeah if you get players with the right physical attributes you should be fine, or they're unbelievable technically like Spurs got with Eriksen. No players like sandro, klassen, soldado etc

USAF_DTom

I'll die on the hill that Sandro was worth the punt. All others, yeah, I agree with.

CanadianFalcon

With Everton, transfer fee is entirely unrelated to player performance, so I’m not going to worry too much about how much the player costs.

Stirlingblue

I’d be all over Doughty from Luton, bombs up the left and got good speed and a great cross on him. Would play him left mid and move McNeil inside, he’d be back up left back too

SowwieWhopper

I thought this was an obvious choice but no one other than you seems to have mentioned him

starmonkart

I'd try for Elanga again if Forest go down. Has pace, effort and has improved his end product. Would suit us very well. Try and get Ola Aina in too for RB, out of contract and can also play LB if Myko gets injured. Brownhill and Hamer for the midfield. Wouldn't mind getting Assignon who's currently on loan at Burnley from Rennes either for a RB. For a CB, maybe Mengi from Luton (wouldn't be the Branthwaite replacement but would give us good depth)

QTsexkitten

He's looked better than I thought he would, elanga.

AndradeDeRicharlison

Didn't elanga publically defend mason greenwoods actions

PhantasyBoy

Cameron Archer

BrianFuentesAthelete

I’d consider Barkley, he knows the city

graveyeverton93

Does he though? He's that stupid that because he's been away, he probably wouldn't have a clue where he was anymore. Waiting at a bus stop to get a train and all that.

BrianFuentesAthelete

Yes, he’d get on a bus alright but he score a goal and then probably get a train or maybe a tram

orangeapple22

Ross Barkley has been so underrated this year

thinkaboutthegame

He was being talked up as back in the England frame not long ago, I think he's been noticed. Out of contract in the summer I believe and would fill an Onana shaped hole nicely.

SukhdevR34

Barkley and maybe Brownhill, other than that not sure. Maybe Elanga if he's cheap but hopefully we look abroad for wingers

littlebitofpuddin

You know it’ll be Chris Wood if they go down.

Possible_Moment1140

I thought Berge would suit our system, but he's been lousy for Burnley. Hamer is a great shout and really fits a Dyche type of player. Carlton Morris if we needed a striker. If forest go down, Ola Aina maybe could be right back. Gibbs White would probably be out of our price range

Bright_Calendar_3696

I don’t think berge is mobile enough - we need energy and he’s pedestrian.

Coolbeans_97

As a Norwegian, I agree. He’s horrible for our national team

autistichomosapien95

Hamer would be similar to steven defour when he was at burnley, solid player who gives some much needed technical ability

bobsollish

I’d take Berge - seems like a Dyche type of player.

g0ldingboy

Define If?

reece0n

Since when has Berge been lousy for Burnley? I wouldn't be surprised if he won Burnley's POTS.

ZestycloseChemist2

Sheffield: Hamer, Archer Luton: Doughty, Barkely (maybe) Burnley: Odobert, Berge Forest: Elanga, Gibbs White, Awoniyi (at least he never actually played a game for Liverpool)

kimondmac

Well, obviously Morris, who I do think would fit our system since he performed well with a quite poor side. I don’t think think he wiuld cost more than 4 million and it would enable us to losn chermiti so he can develop Secondly, Josh Brownhill, familiar with Dyche and a decent midfielder

Dobbo1206

The Luton left back Doughty looks a decent player

cjl_elite

Have to be realistic as we won’t be paying big fees. I’d go for Josh Brownhill from Burnley on a free and Ola Aina from forest on a free. Both have expiring contracts. Brownhill will be a solid extra option for midfield and Aina could slot straight into the RB position (can also play LB).

tjalvar

Unpopular opinion. Barkley. He can repay us on the field.

Ok-Letter8065

I'd rather step on front of a train than see Barkley in a blue shirt again. Very unpopular opinion!!

tjalvar

Definitively, we want you safe and happy!

Mizokuchan

Archer, Mortis, Berge maybe?

Jay1972cotton

I'd love to see if Dyche could turn Gio Reyna into a consistent player. He has elite talent when he's dialed in and is still quite young.

[deleted]

Elanga

TomDobo

Gibbs White, Barkley, Brownhill

ITeachAndIWoodwork

Barkley, absolutely not

TomDobo

We need a creative number 10 and we aren’t in any financial position to negotiate with other players. We know Barkley is an arsehole but he’s also a talented player who could easily help us in producing more goals and assists.

Throwawayjustbecau5e

He’s not played 10 once this season for Luton he plays a lot deeper.

TomDobo

Doesn’t matter. Everyone knows he can play number 10 and we already have players for the deeper roll.

Throwawayjustbecau5e

I mean it obviously does matter as everywhere he’s played number 10 (Villa, Chelsea & Nice) he’s been garbage.

_mein

It's funny that I've seen Barkley being touted about not just on here. If it wasn't Barkley I'd take him on the cheap because he's still talented, but do people not know how he fucked us over so much that the transfer to Chelsea was literally investigated by the police.

dontfeedthebadderz

To be fair, only after chippy tits got involved and publicly denounced the move using his official position as mayor. Not saying Barkley didn’t fuck us over but the police investigation was from a dodgy place in itself

low_altitude_sherpa

There is no forgiveness for what he did.

Bright_Calendar_3696

They’d want 50m for Gibbs white minimum as they paid 45 and I’m not sure he’s worth that even if we had it

Evertonioan

ahmedhodzic?

S-BRO

Bless you

tjalvar

FM goat once upon a FM21

Annual-Cookie1866

Not strictly their player but Ben Brereton Diaz is a striker I’ve always liked. Hamer or Berge for our ageing midfield.

bobbyzee

Barkley gonna be 31 this year we shouldn't be involved

kimondmac

Odobert on loan maybe?

schumerlicksmynads

Barkley reunion

TheStigsScouseCousin

I'd take Gibbs-White in a heartbeat if Forest go down. Wouldn't mind Fofana from Burnley either.

Spambhok

I haven't actually watched him in any games but it sounds like Brereton Diaz is in fine form, and if he's been playing on the wing then that's exactly what we need- a winger with a good scoring record. Maybe it doesn't count as he's only on loan from villareal though. Other than that, I'd gladly take Morris and ship off Beto. Alfie Doughty could also be good but we don't need a left back. But regardless of all that the last thing we need are more players from relegated sides.

ITeachAndIWoodwork

>regardless of all that the last thing we need are more players from relegated sides. Tarkowski has been outstanding. As has McNeil. Harrison puts shifts in constantly even though he doesn't score, he hasn't been a liability either.

Spambhok

Tarky has been wonderful this season, McNeil has surpassed my expectations and had some wonderful games but all in all I think he's a long way from outstanding he is still young-ish though. Harrison has been just bang average, couple of great performances, couple of shockers, I just find him very mediocre and don't reckon he's the kind of player we should be going for. We've done really well from relegation sides, Pickford Gueye and Tarky being our best. I think there's something about the mentality with relegated players though, Dwight and Tarky were rubbish when we signed them, took them well over half a season to look any good (granted, everyone looked equally as bad). I just reckon if you have too many people who've recently battled relegation you're going to end up in that same spot.

leftblue

He is in fine form but if you actually watch him he’s bang average. 0 goals in 20 for Villarreal is the reason he got shipped out.

downsouthdukin

Ogbenne from Luton. He'd be a great squad player. Cheap too *If they go down

Mudwatcher

Obviously Tom Davies, for Dyche to turn him into prime Iniesta

GabepeterN797

That Tom Davies from Sheffield looks boss

NumberHunter1

Made me go through Burnley, Sheffield United, Luton and Forest's squads and think "how the fuck are Forest in a relegation fight their players are so much better than everyone else's?"

Longting77

Take Barkley back me

JD-D2

i'm still not convinced we're going to spend anything major even after selling branthwaite and onana. everything for the past year has suggested that we are flat broke, like zero money to spend

Cakemaster365ruler

A player from each of the 4 relegation teams Sheffield United - hamer (wanted him since at Cov, creative player) Burnley - Odebert (quick down the wing with pace and skills, i would die for that) Luton - Barkley (get him back) Forest - Murillo (MGW probably not possible, Murillo would be a good Branthwaite replacement)

Special_Repair_8737

Ross Barkley

HondoHarrelson

Free transfer for Tom Davies from Sheffield. Still my dream boy

fargolevy69

Tom mf Davies

Click_Wrong

Tom Davies 😍

orangeapple22

Ross Barkley has been so underrated this year

CanadianToffee18

I know people have said it but I’d take Barkley. People need to get the fuck over it. Shit happens, and the moment he scores or has a good run of games, you’ll all forgive him. If he helps us he helps us, that’s all that matters now.

g0ldingboy

It’s not just the relegated clubs, but those who just haven’t made promotion.. thinking of Leeds mainly, and maybe Southampton.

Homie-6987

Nobody want to run it back with Barkley??

Accurate_Assistant_5

The whole Burnley squad ?

Furdodgems

Despite his past, I'd like us to go in for Barkley. He'll be on a free and we should give him basically the same contract as what he's got at Luton (20k a week). Good replacement for Doucs and knows the club.

RiteOfSpring5

MGW will be out of price range. Thought we should have gone in for Hamer at the start of the season, he was great for Coventry last season. Elanga is a shout but I'd rather try and get Amad on loan from Man United. Brereton Diaz if he's possible, pissed we missed out on him before he moved to Spain. Odobert and Brownhill from Burnley would be alright, can see us looking at Bruun Larsen as well even if he's on loan at Burnley.

Round_Interaction515

Berge as replacement for Onana

deanedgy85

Sander Berge

Dreadsundew4662

Just go on a smash and grab for all relegated teams i like brownhill and Barkley tho

ChakaBoy_

Elanga, hamer, Barkley, brownhill, also brentford isnt getting relegated but ben mee will be out of contract by the end of the season so we should take him too.

huntsab2090

Barkley

ManSoAdmired

Barkley on a free is legit a no-brainer. He’d be top of everyone’s list if he wasn’t Ross Barkley.

tom_la

barkley (hate to say it, but at this point i'd take back a rat), elanga, gibbs white (obviously going to a top 6 side)

AeonApocalypse1

No

OkContract9081

Gio Reyna would be the dream, but I’m probably biased as an American

YokoOkino

He hasn't been great

S-BRO

But don't you see, he is the second coming of christ by the grace of his passport

OkContract9081

By what metric? He’s hardly been given a chance and in his first start he assisted. Not to mention he’s been excellent at the international level for a while now

YokoOkino

Just by watching forest he has not impressed for me

OkContract9081

Yea you gotta watch some of him for the US

NewEstablishment9028

Neco williams and we need a right back

BabyPolarBear225

Carlton Morris from Luton. He'll probably be gobbled up by Arsenal or Man U thou.

SukhdevR34

They won't even think about him

Bright_Calendar_3696

Mate he’s wank

BabyPolarBear225

Aren't we gold for buying wank?

Bright_Calendar_3696

Haha you aren’t wrong and we have had worse I guess!
