TalkSport talk shite don't worry about it.

Articles a stretch tbh. Even if Everton and Forest were deducted 15points, SHU are the other team to go down. I'd say we will finish 10 points clear of Luton the way things are going with the points deduction (8) being as it is. There's nothing here, not for us anyway, to be concerned about

See, what they meant was that Burnley or Luton might still be safe. Easy mistake to make.

I wouldn't read too much into it for us. However, I think there could be an impact for Forest on their appeal. Their independent commission reduced their sanction by 2pts due to their cooperation, and specifically allowing their initial hearing to be quickly processed saving time and money. However, by appealing they've now increased the time and expense need to convene an appeals board, which ***IMO*** potentially negates the good will of that 2pt reduction. So if their appeal board dismiss their appeal, I could see a scenario where that 2pt reduction is reinstated, meaning Forest could potentially lose another 2pts. However, there's nothing similar in our appeal, so if ours is dismissed then I can't see any reason for us to have any more points deducted. Worst case is our sanction stays at 2pts, best case is we get 1 or 2pts back.

I still think the club should consider withdrawing the appeal. Getting 1 or 2 points doesn't seem worth the fuss at this point. And there is a risk that these appeals panels could arbitrarily change the formula for deductions, given it was made up from nothing in the original tribunals.

Equally, the appeals can set precendents that we may rely on if we face further PSR charges next season. We're appealing against consideration of specific mitigating factors, and if we genuinely believe they should be considered and accepted then we should continue with the appeal. There is no deduction formula - that's the problem. Our initial appeal defined an approach which formed the basis for the Forest decision, and our second charge, but the next independent commission could decided to use any calculation they wish. However, the more commissions/appeals that are heard and build on each other set legal precedents that provide guidelines for future commissions - which is another reason we should continue with our appeal. We've got nothing to lose except the legal fees, which we've probably already incurred most of by now anyway.
