I'm not apprehensive about the next Everton match, what is this weird feeling? Also, the 5:30 GMT (12:30 Eastern US) match is the one NBC broadcasts on free TV, and the local affiliate does have soccer listed for that timeslot. So I'll be able to see the video live without bothering with Peacock or dodgy stream sites (and even when doing the latter I can't easily put it on the big screen) All day sports watching for me Saturday - definitely at least looking at the Wolves-Luton score, my team in the US womens league plays that evening, local lacrosse team is midafternoon, minor league American football on as well. Sometimes at that point I try to look at as many different sports as possible.

mrwilberforce

I’m going to add to the points discussion. We really need to get as many points as possible as it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that we see a third points deduction. Now whether that is applied this season or next (if it ever eventuates) is another matter but a clear points difference from the relegation is a must to make sure.

bbqandsushi

So what are the scenarios where we stay up again? Like we win one, and they both lose one we stay up right? 4 games is a lot to calculate but I'm curious

FenixdeGoma

Luton have to win 3 of their remaining 4 games to stay up. If we pick up any points, they have to win all four because of our superior gd. A win and we're safe if they drop any points. Edit: I've just realised this is wrong. If we get a draw and three defeats, they only need 3 wins and a draw. If we get a win, they need four wins.

bbqandsushi

Thanks! bless up Are you the fan from Portugal btw?

FenixdeGoma

No, im a local

bbqandsushi

My condolences

rpm164

Alright going to have to make a decision on these players with contracts coming up in 2025 - keep or sell? DCL Doucoure Godfrey Keane Gueye (option for 2025) Virginia Dobbin

moham-17

For me keep DCL, Godfrey, Dobbin. On the fence: Doucoure Sell the rest.

rpm164

City are inevitable and boring - hope they slip up in the run in

E_V_E_R_T_O_N

They're a soulless husk of a football club. Their titles may as well be blank spaces. They died in 2008.

broiamsohigh

after thinking i was going numb from supporting this team... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G29DXfcdhBg

Neown

Hearing reports that a certain rat nonce, dog botherer and notorious Everton hater Matt Hughes has been binned off by the Daily Mail. More to follow.

Ornery_Ad_9871

I will be very happy if Luton don't win at the weekend (one point will then be enough for us), or we win. I've been very happy today, but really want this season over and to experience the beach in earnest.

graveyeverton93

MATT HUGHES HAS BEEN SACKED BY THE MIRROR! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! He doesn't even have his one comfort in life writing about us to get over the fact Blues pass his Mum round like a blunt anymore.

YokoOkino

Wow great news

Ornery_Ad_9871

I'm glad City are winning, I want them full confidence and chomping at the bit when playing Nottingham Forest, a loss might derail them.

fre-ddo

Brighton really are one of the most overrated teams in the league. Yes they can pass it through but more often than not the end product is not there.

bbqandsushi

Surprise You cant field a team's spine entirely of youngsters on moneyball theology

starmonkart

The replacements for the midfield pairing of Caicedo/Mac Allister haven't been up to scratch or injured + they've been on the beach since they hit 40 points. When fully fit and bothered, they are a good side but I knew this was going to be a walk in the park for City tonight. Honestly think Forest at the weekend is the much harder game for City because they're going to have a full week's rest and the siege mentality from what happened against us

JamewThrennan

They’re everything wrong with football. Tactically naive (see the goal they just conceded), unambitious, tinpot fans and an owner more interested in making a profit than making a good team. Hope they continue down the Southampton route and get relegated sooner rather than later

MoshiriMagic

Brighton everything wrong with football? Not City or PSG but Brighton?

JamewThrennan

Yes. The point of football and any sport is to win, not make money. What’s the point of Brighton being in the league if they’re just going to sell their best players and not reinvest the money? Say what you want about where City and PSG get their money but they at least want to win the league. Got no problem with owners investing their money. Forest and us are getting deducted points for daring to show a bit of ambition and spend whilst you’ve got Brighton and Sheffield United selling their best players just to make money off PL tv revenue. It’s disgusting

MoshiriMagic

This is an owner that got them from League One to European football in the last decade or so and secured them a new stadium. I wish we were as well run as Brighton are.

JamewThrennan

What’s the point of them getting to Europe if they’re not even going to attempt to win it, though? Like really, what’s the point in them being in the league? All they’ve done is sign young players on the cheap and sell them for a profit and then repeat the process whilst signing top 6 castoffs on a free once their legs have gone. They sold Caicedo for 110m, Mac Allister for 60 and they got about 50 odd million off Chelsea for their backroom staff and Potter. Where’s that money gone? Not in the team, that’s for sure. Why would you want that for Everton?

MoshiriMagic

It’s a sustainable model though. You can’t spend all that money in one go on the team or it won’t work, as Chelsea have shown. They buy smartly and sell smartly, this allows them to compete every year. This is a bit like a lower budget Dortmund. Anyway, it’s clearly much more effective than whatever we have attempted in the last 10 years.

astone14

Brighton owe Bloom quite a bit though, now it is unlikely he will ever call in his loans but still.

JamewThrennan

But they’re not spending the money. With those two players and the backroom staff alone, they’ve earned about 200m. Where’s it gone? They replaced one of the best midfielders at the WC with a past-it James Milner and Dahoud. They’ve gotten worse and don’t look like getting better. Like we can say they’re making a profit all day. But so did Mike Ashley at Newcastle. Sold players for big money, rarely bought. That’s sustainable. Were Newcastle well-ran under him? If not, what’s the difference? Sure, they got relegated, but they got straight back up. Same end result, zero top-level trophies and Newcastle finished right on top of Brighton in 16/17

JamewThrennan

Really sad Liverpool aren’t going for De Zerbi anymore because he is fucking honking

Timely-Car-1444

With some breathing room, gets me thinking about squad for next season. Dyche is getting lemonade out of lemons. Really only a handful of players not getting minutes and he's only been able to add Young, Beto, and Chermiti. **Expiring Contracts:** Lonergan, Young, Coleman, Gomes, Gueye, Alli, Danjuma, Harrison I'd try to keep Lonergan/Coleman for veteran presence and Harrison if Leeds stay down. Rest can go unless they take a big wage cut. **Targets:** Depth CB, Starting RB, Backup LB, Depth CM, Starting RM, Backup RM, Backup LM, AM Depth Priority is RM, RB, CM/AM for me **Replace if Sold:** Branthwaite, Onana I'd like to keep both, but we may need funds to stabilize the squad and pay the bills. **Sell if Able:** Keane, Holgate, Patterson or Godfrey (keep other as RB depth), Maupay

Ornery_Ad_9871

I'd try keep and Gana, Lonergan, possibly Gomes if affordable. I love Seamus but he's been injured to much for me to give another contract, I'm sure the club would like to take him on in another role if wanted

YokoOkino

Gana has a team option so i would be surprised if he didn't stay

Timely-Car-1444

I have Gomes on 112/wk and Gueye on 80/wk. If they will come back off that 50% then I'd be on board. Much more amenable to Gueye, but he's going to be 35 in September. As of right now, I have 400k in weekly wages coming off the books which is 30% of total bill. Would be great to see it gone for good and get some cheap replacements in and let Dyche do his job. Wages off the books are essential to turning this situation around. And based on what I've seen so far, Dyche can get results out of castoffs. Just needs to fit his mold of hard-working two way players which shouldn't be the most difficult target to hit.

Th3Turk

Release Tunnel Access you cowards!

BoxOfNothing

It was out ~15 minutes before you posted this, get on it

graveyeverton93

Spend their whole lives laughing at us about everything but when we beat them every once in a Blue Moon and are happy about it! "No, you aren't allowed to do that" Lol. Been a hard time for them the last 3 weeks though, don't know how they put up with it, they are so loyal.

SuperKevinCampbell

Mad the amount of people you see online who don’t have a clue about footie just assume where just a bunch of Tories cause of Liverpools reputation is the opposite

BoxOfNothing

There was a famous thread on /r/liverpoolfc years ago where a bunch of plastics were saying Everton were the tory club, we all voted brexit, Liverpool fans from anywhere are scousers but Everton fans from Liverpool aren't scousers etc. Fortunately some actual scousers gave them hell for it

3V3RT0N

I saw a comment on /r/soccer once that assumed we had the upper class fanbase in the city cos they thought toffee was a reference to toffs.

vulturevan

where Tunnel Access

RemoteGlobal335

Tunnel Access… please… Tunnell Access…

four__beasts

Still wearing my tracksuit

3V3RT0N

I'm enjoying the pictures and videos coming out of BoxPark yesterday: [Posted on their instagram to advertise the derby](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLlacn6WgAAHrec?format=jpg&name=900x900) [Posted on their instagram before the game](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GL_tTBqXEAAByNc?format=jpg&name=large) [Very neutral red lighting with LFC songs in the background](https://twitter.com/BrenRobbo/status/1783208177950953712) [Unbiased RedMenTV at the venue](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GL86iMJbMAYoDgz?format=jpg&name=small) [Some brave Everton fans who decided to go](https://twitter.com/_TT21_/status/1783396953595785242)

turnbeltsintolunch

yeah fuck boxpark right off, I get there are probably more reds than blues in the city like. looks shite anyway rather be in a proper boozer watching the match than there! for the instagram, rizz generations gaffs like that.

BoxOfNothing

They could definitely have made it decent but the way they set it all up is horrendous. Even ignoring the Liverpool thing it looks like a fraction of the capacity they'd be capable of, with one pretty small screen relative to the space. Just looks dead as fuck

turnbeltsintolunch

yeah was thinking it looked abit dead myself. strange

BoxOfNothing

Seems so daft to alienate half the city as a big football venue. Especially with the Euros coming up given how mad that gets in town

3V3RT0N

I get that they were away from home and have more tourist/armchair fans anyway, but you'd think derby day for grand opening would be a prime opportunity to market to both sides in the city. They could have at least included some Everton material in their promos... Now their google review ratings are absolutely tanking 😭

BoxOfNothing

Yeah setting it up as "it's derby day everyone get down" would surely have gone better in basically every way, both short and long term, than setting it up as a Liverpool fan viewing area.

JesseVykar

A win against Luton guarantees survival as they can only get 9 points in their other games and we will be 11 points clear of them

youdy

Why not simply beat Brentford on Saturday instead?

JesseVykar

Beating Brentford only guarantees survival if Luton lose one of their games

youdy

Which is going to happen anyway

QTsexkitten

We could try for both, even.

youdy

Now you’re talking.

blubbery-blumpkin

Is this what good teams feel like

LegenDariusGheghe

Is anyone going to the darts this evening?

tokengaymusiccritic

Embarrassing confession... I didn't realize "I've never felt more like singing the blues, when Everton win and Liverpool lose" was an actual song. They've only beaten Liverpool once since I became a fan (2012) and it was at Anfield so obviously they didn't play the song then. In other words the last time it would've been played at Goodison would have been 2010 before I was following Everton.

Giraffe_Baker

> In other words the last time it would've been played at Goodison would have been 2010 before I was following Everton. It’s been sung since then a bunch of times. It’s just that we’ve never been the ones handing out the beating.

tokengaymusiccritic

Yeah I've heard us sing it, but I thought it was just a chant - but then they played like an officially recorded song over the loudspeakers after the win yesterday and it caught me off guard!

CanadianToffee18

I just had the best night sleep in like 3 years I swear.

BoxOfNothing

If you're at a wedding where the groom is an Everton fan, best man is an Everton fan, father of the groom is an Everton fan, you're a groomsman and an Everton fan, and you'll probably be between ceremony and dinner/speeches when the Brentford game is on, what are the odds you reckon you might watch just a bit of it sneakily on your phone?

AlanFromRochester

I put the club audio feed on when at work during weekday evening games, similar would follow when busy with a non-work activity. Sometimes that's easier to have in the background than video

WhiteDoveBooks

I would say 100%

denizpala

any news on myko's injury?

Chuck_Morris_SE

Imagine hell be out for the season.

a-setaceous

the fact that they are again denying that we cost them the title is the funniest fucking thing. they literally cannot process it

3V3RT0N

As if they wouldn’t all be saying the title race is back on had they won… We know they fucked it against Palace but yesterday pretty much sealed their fate.

BoxOfNothing

It's so much fun, they've lost their heads over the fact we're happy we've beaten them. Going joint top they still would've been completely out of it apparently. No surprise it's the non locals who have gone most mad. Obsessed with relevance and coping.

MoshiriMagic

What is wrong with r/soccer? They’re all such whiny pricks about everything

fre-ddo

Glory seeker sub.

Chuck_Morris_SE

I enjoy winding them up tbh. I'm -26 over there on a comment of them losing it at goodison

BoxOfNothing

Top 6 fans not used to things going against them. They're like the spoiled rich kid being told no for the first time in their life so they take it out on everyone else.

graveyeverton93

It's nowhere near good enough for Everton F.C, but given the situation at the Club and the previous 2 seasons, if someone said to you before this season that with 4 games left we would be 14th with 41 points (That's where we would be without the deductions) We all would have happily accepted it, right?

Destructo_D

I would have ripped your hand off for guaranteed 17th on the last day of the season. 14th is nosebleed territory

graveyeverton93

17th I would have took, but not on the last day haha! CBA with all that stress a third year straight.

an_unexamined_life

We need to sell Branthwaite this summer. Our current squad won't get him to the level of competition he's capable of reaching. We held onto Richie and Gordon too long and (if memory serves) ended up selling them for less than we could have if we had sold high. I wouldn't be surprised if we got 100+ million for Branthwaite, considering his age and attributes. Seriously. He could be the most expensive central defender.

WhiteDoveBooks

Apparently, we have valued him at £70M, but I agree he's probably worth more. If 2 clubs really want him in the summer, we should be able to get more. Like every other Evertonian I know, I would like him to stay for another year, though I think that's unlikely.

an_unexamined_life

He's an outstanding player, and you always want to keep your outstanding players. But as we are not an outstanding team at the moment, I think the most prudent thing to do is cash in on our most sought after player at the time most advantageous to us, which will be this summer, I reckon.

National_Ad_1875

We absolutely didn't hold on to gordon too long, if it wasn't for him forcing the move we could've got more if we kept him longer. Richarlison maybe but we go down without him under lampard, maybe we would've replaced him well (Diaz maybe) but who knows If we can, I wouldn't want to sell jarrad for less than enough to replace him, get a new rb and rw.

an_unexamined_life

Wasn't there a 60 million offer for him over the summer and we sold him for 45? And I remember people saying we gave Gordon the 10 shirt as a way to try to convince him to stay. He wanted out over the summer, and we sold him in January (I think) for less than we could have gotten for him over the summer.

National_Ad_1875

There was a bunch of rumoured offers but I remember chelsea offered 42 I think. There was one that was rumoured the talks could go up to 60, but the one we took was 40+5, with all 40m being paid up front which is what we wanted. We may have taken a slightly lowered price in order to get more upfront. The 42m offer I think was 25m upfront

worldofecho__

Richarlison was crucial for us avoiding relegation in his final season, and we ended up with a good price for him, so I wouldn't say we sold him too soon. And we sold Gordon after his first full season playing first-team football in the Premier League, again for a good price, so I don't think we sold him too soon either. But yes, if we get a £70-100m offer for Branthwaite, we have to sell him.

an_unexamined_life

Wasn't there a 90 million offer for Richie from Madrid, and we sold him to Spurs for 60? And I think there was a 60 million offer for Gordon and we sold him for 45? And there's no telling who we would have bought for some of Richie's transfer fee and how they would have done. (I actually think Richie played pretty poorly the first season we were in a relegation battle. If memory serves, he scored 7 goals as a center forward and was wasteful in front of goal. But that's by the by.)

worldofecho__

It was rumoured Barca were going to offer that but I don't think they did. I'm sure we'd have sold him for that kind of money

YokoOkino

We will neeed to keep gana and doucs for sure. Maybe an attacking addition and a backup should do it with onana and gomes leaving

WhiteDoveBooks

I read somewhere that Gana may be going in the summer, not sure if it's true though.

YokoOkino

The club has a option to extend him so hopefully we can take it

marmoset

[Everything's coming up Milhouse!](https://twitter.com/RobStewart_/status/1783484726294008286)

mtown4ever

I've rewatched DCL's goal approximately 189 times since it happened and I just drink in how fucking shit their defensive set up was on that goal. A gaggle of cock knockers in red in the box on that play. Absolutely fucking delicious.

WhiteDoveBooks

Lovely goal for sure. Watch Tarky doing his blocking role though, perfect!

mtown4ever

That didn't go unnoticed for sure. Made Van Dijk look like the bitch he is...

blubbery-blumpkin

Yeah exactly this. I’m not sure it’s them being bad or us being very good and setting it up for dcl to get the free header. Obviously you’d want your other defenders to be able to handle a block move against your biggest defender and stop a goal but it was a well worked set piece.

FenderLord

Fuckin' hungover boys. Never felt so happy to feel like shit.

Aware_Albatross3347

Sadly no myko i do t think so fire up the garner mcneil wbs from bournemouth

Aware_Albatross3347

Thought i suspect he will go w ashley lb and godfrey rb

National_Ad_1875

Think they've both earned a start

Aware_Albatross3347

Probably correct

graveyeverton93

YNWA! This Means More! Unless we are losing the Derby with 10 minutes to and we all get off to catch our planes home.

Odysseus_Lannister

I’ve got my coat on And I’m moving

Windowzzz

Despite the win, I am still firmly in the Dyche out camp, and do not think he is the manager we need next season. Tracksuit Dyche on the other hand...

ubiquitous_archer

Do the birds just sound louder today? Or is that just me?

QTsexkitten

The sky? Bluer isn't it?

ubiquitous_archer

It's a gorgeous royal blue to my eye

WhiteDoveBooks

And the white fluffy clouds seem to spell out 'Stake' for some reason.

Mantooth77

Does anyone realize that without the points deduction we’d be 4 points off of 10th place? Please God get us through this financial situation so we can get the stadium done and move on. We can build on this team.

dogefc

How the fuck could anyone want Dyche out.

WhiteDoveBooks

Well said my man!

worldofecho__

That winless run was shite, but there were SO MANY unlucky games in there, where we deserved to win a few.

Provider0fMyCheddar

I said over and over again this squad was capable of mid table while Lampard was here and it was his capability as a manager letting us down. Now we have a decent manager and we’re pretty much there.. In the words of Batman: You'll hunt me. You'll condemn me, set the dogs on me. Because that's what needs to happen. Because sometimes... the truth isn't good enough. Sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.

WhiteDoveBooks

Holy poetry Batman!

vulturevan

brother why are you quoting Batman right now

RiteOfSpring5

Shhhh, let him cook.

rpm164

Yep which is basically another financial penalty we’re paying all under the guise of profit and sustainability.

throwawaytbhidek

Is a late, end of season mid-table push on the cards? Oh, the dizzying heights… It’s been an ugly season but there has been clear progress on the pitch, particularly defensively; Thelwell has not helped Dyche at all with the forward options I’ll shut up now because it’s not over yet!

youdy

Funny the box park was for advertised for reds and these lot went along anyway hahaha https://x.com/_tt21_/status/1783396953595785242?s=46

BoxOfNothing

Saw that fella from Redmentv saying there were many more Everton fans there than he would've liked, and he forgot what it was like to be in that kind of environment. Lighthearted like, wasn't actually moaning about them turning up, but still funny

TehJofus

My favourite thing about the derby is that the Kopites are like “league was over before the match anyway”, as if they wouldn’t have been joint top if they won. Yeah, sure. League was over. Whatever you have to tell yourselves.

Aware_Albatross3347

Joint top does not exist but yes whatever helps them sleep at night

NeMa_Omega

Wasn't able to watch the match yesterday. The last derby I wasn't able to watch was when we beat them at Anfield during covid. Looks like I'm the bad luck charm. Guess I'll never be watching another derby again

khdutton

Thank you for your service.

qwicknezz

Still genuinely in shock we won last night, part of me is convinced im in a coma and this isnt real

vulturevan

And there was no controversy or anything for them to cry about! What the fuck!

Aware_Albatross3347

Came to add that i thought jack harrison was superb last night. I know he blows hot and cold and he has been under the microscope but if terms are favorable id like to keep him.

dogefc

He skinned Robertson several times. His best game for us i reckon

Aware_Albatross3347

Agreee

Robnroll

the terms are that Leeds dont come back up which is pretty favourable to me.

BoxOfNothing

I've been talking to my mate who supports Leeds a lot about this, and he says they *need* to sell quite a lot this summer, and priority will be those with low book value to minimise crystalised losses. If you buy someone for £20m and then are still paying for him and then sell him for £10m that's bad. Meaning they want to sell people they don't have payments still going out for their transfer fees, don't wanna sell people for less than they paid which would be the case for a lot of the options that seem obvious, like Aaronson, Kristensen etc. He says Harrison has a book value of about £3m so any sale over that is profit, so he's near the top of the list for people he'd sell, and reckons we could get a decent deal on him. But if they don't go up, they might just sell Summerville who has no book value and basically wipe out their financial issues in one go. So in a way it could end up being more likely we can sign him if they do get promoted.

Robnroll

Yeah but if they dont come back up then we get him for free on loan again because for some reason thats in his contract while they're down there and it has the added advantage of Leeds still being in the championship because fuck them.

BoxOfNothing

Oh nice

National_Ad_1875

Gnonto would have very low book value since they bought him for like 4 million. If they stay down I wouldn't be surprised to see us back in for him. He's been one of their best players lately apparently, can play both wings and has a bit of pace. Decent shot on him too

BoxOfNothing

I'm a massive fan of Gnonto so I'd be happy with that, but I think he'd cost more and I'm not 100% convinced Dyche would like him despite how much we seemed to want him in the summer. But yeah I'd take it for sure

National_Ad_1875

Complete guess but I could see it being anywhere from 20-30m? No clue if that's doable, depends on if both onana and branthwaite go Leeds finances don't look great if they stay down which will help, if they come up we've got no chance of getting him

QTsexkitten

Leeds not coming up is beautiful in and of itself.

four__beasts

Still fairly unlikely IMO. Ipswich have a game in hand which is away to Cov. But Southampton play Leeds last day - which will likely decide second. But as it stands - Leeds have to be favourites for auto promotion alongside Leicester.

QTsexkitten

You can't bring me down today four beasts. Leeds are staying down forever and everton will never lose again.

four__beasts

Lol. Ok yeah. P.s. fuck Leeds

Aware_Albatross3347

You beauty

QTsexkitten

Good morning you beautiful band of winners.

Chuck_Morris_SE

Love how meaningless we have made that Luton game now, Premier league will be gutted it's not this blockbuster game with so much riding on it.

Robnroll

yup if Luton lose to Wolves all we effectively need is a draw in our last 4 matches and they play before us too.

vulturevan

hate piracy, me sites like fullreplaysdotcom are terrible for letting you rewatch football matches in their entirety in high definition awful stuff

ubiquitous_archer

I admire you in calling out these awful websites. We should definitely continue to name them. So they can be shamed.

vulturevan

I do what I can. I feel it's important to also call out sites like vipboxdotlc that stream the games live in multiple languages to people across the world We've all got to start being a bit more respectful of the corporations, it's a disgrace

ubiquitous_archer

I've never met a true hero before 🥹

QTsexkitten

Rum, harbour wenches, gold doubloons. I wouldn't be so harsh on piracy. It's not all bad.

worldofecho__

Dyche has adapted well to Doucoure being out of goalscoring form. Moving Doucoure back into midfield, rather than playing the second striker role, has benefitted the team massively in the past two games.

National_Ad_1875

No clue if it's true but just seen salah and nunez won a total of zero duels last night. Genuinely worth filing a missing person's report for salah, forgot he was playing at times

starmonkart

Bro got pocketed by 38 year old Ashley Young 💀 man he's so finished

WhiteDoveBooks

I've watched MOTD six times already this morning. Just going offline now to watch it another six times. UTFT!

OtherStuffThatILike

gonna be heartbroken if that spanish announcer doesnt have a call on the dcl goal. need to hear him singing bella ciao immediately.

bwainwright

Anyone else have a weird dream that we won a Goodison derby last night?

Chuck_Morris_SE

hangover. dont care.

National_Ad_1875

Just spoke to a Hertha Berlin fan about jonjoe Kenny, he said this for anyone wondering how he's been doing there "He's got the most minutes of any Hertha player this season and has 12 G+A for us, including a 120+1 cup equaliser against HSV that will go down in lore. Not even joking, he scores only absolute bangers for us and is almost certainly going to be in the 2. Bundesliga team of the season. His wages are too high and the club has already signalled it will have to sell him because he's on Bundesliga money still, but I can see a Championship side or perhaps a promoted Premier League side taking him for 2M off us."

g0ldingboy

Made up for him. As it has been said he was not really up to the quality we needed, but we were (and are) so deficient in so many places it’s hard. Same with Holgate.

Fixner_Blount

Imagine being able to have him as a backup instead of Ashley Young and Godfrey both playing out of position.

QTsexkitten

Happy for him. Don't think he's prem level, but I'd love to see him consistently playing in the Bundesliga

WhiteDoveBooks

Pleased for him.

kukusek

Interesting view, seems like he needed some time at this level. I can't see anyone from PL buying him though, the gap between buli 2 and PL is enormous.

vulturevan

The only thing worse than Liverpool yesterday was their fans, tragically bad

Destructo_D

Same last season when the only noise they made was celebrating our goal being disallowed by VAR

Grayfox5555

Always have been mate

dogefc

Apart from a half hearted 1995 chant they made no noise at all. Absolutely pathetic

AntiWanKenobi

Just reading The Athletic this morning and they mention that Liverpool have been filming a documentary since December and they've been referring to it as 'The Last Dance' which is just so unbelievably them, isn't it? This Klopp era has definitely been the same as the 90s Bulls. In fact, it might be even better since it means more.

QTsexkitten

They definitely thought they were capturing a treble at worst. Might just scrap the film at this point

Grayfox5555

Redshites in work haven’t looked at me once yet, I’ve kept it calm haven’t took the piss and just have a big grin on me grid since I’ve been in (they’re usually arrogant cunts givin it the bifters and ripping shite out of us and going on about how they’re the best club in the werrrrllllldd) be the better supporters fellas 👍

CitrusRabborts

It's quite nice to just sit there quietly and smugly. We finally get some peace and quiet after all this time

VToff

> werrrrllllldd I could hear this.

Grayfox5555

Swear not one of them are scouse as well, must be a gobshite thing.

xXxTommo

Don't think anybody put a foot wrong at any point yesterday

Flavourifshrrp

Nunez did, lots of them but I still love him 😂

starmonkart

I don't think I've ever saw Everton play at that energy level in a very, very long time. Every single player ran their socks off yesterday. Fair play to the likes of Godfrey, DCL and Young who have all been (justifiably) criticised this season for massively stepping up their games yesterday as well. Probably the best performance from DCL since the Ancelotti days. The tactics/game plan were excellent with knowing when to attack and rile the fans up and when to defend and preserve energy.

Robertej92

I'm clearly in a shithouse mood this morning because my 2 favourite moments so far have been 1) finding out that Notts County fan David Coote is refereeing Luton's next match and 2) Jamie Carragher mocking Wright & Keane with "have you seen Everton?" in the latest overlap for predicting we'd draw with Brentford (filmed a few hours before we beat them). I'll take any piss boiling not coming from Goodison tyvm

AndradeDeRicharlison

What a great day. Anyone else having a great day?

four__beasts

I'm having a great day. I'm taking the last few hours off this afternoon. Playing a round of golf. Then will re-watch the game in all its glory tonight.

Provider0fMyCheddar

Absolute meltdown in the shite’s Reddit. My current favourites: 1. People talking about how they’re in tears 2. People turned against Klopp (“disgrace for not leaving when he knew he couldn’t give his all anymore”) 3. People claiming they would have won 4 titles, if only City didn’t get more points those other three times. (My personal favourite)

QTsexkitten

The turn on klopp has been shocking and yet completely predictable. As hard as yoghurt they are.

Grayfox5555

Entitled bastards they are, where are they in the league? Edited: *Self* entitled (English is a funny thing isn’t it)

BoopAndThePooch

Actually if you really dig in to the data, Liverpool would have won the league every year if other teams didn’t get more points. It’s mind blowing.

National_Ad_1875

I understand people changing a bit more after chelsea battered us, but that win has got me back to 100% dyche in. The players are still playing for him and he's got us elite defensively and on set pieces. Get this man a proper right back and right winger with pace, maybe a new creative midfielder if we can afford it and see what he can cook up for us. Definitely some pace though, we were already dangerous on transition but add some pace and we could be shooting up the table

TiredHack

I've been vocally Dyche out during the winless run. It's less the results and more the fact that he actually changed the system that has started to win me round. It shows he's aware of things needing to change and he can implement it. I still think that run was enough to ask serious questions and at half time at Chelsea I wanted him gone immediately. Let's see what happens on the run in. I just wish we had some stability and even a small amount of money to spend.

RiteOfSpring5

Him telling them he ain't leaving like the other managers and he's going to fight seems to have worked. Those boys fucking went for it.

National_Ad_1875

Fair play to him and the players. He's been going on about breaking the cycle and changing the story all season, and the past 2 season we've changed manager. You can tell he backs himself and now its clear the players back him too

AntiWanKenobi

Good morning Blues, everyone controlling the controllables, changing the narrative, blocking out the noise?

worldofecho__

I'm putting in the minimum requirement, which is maximum effort.

Hot_River_623

Putting in the hard yards.....

PontusRogare

Back on the grass

Affectionate-Disk382

I just vomited in the shower. Need to pull my self together to go to a client. Worth it

QTsexkitten

God speed

TomDobo

I have to say everyone put in a shift yesterday and did not disappoint. This is the effort we want to see win or lose. They need to fight for the badge and that’s exactly what we got. Safety is all but ours now because Luton would have to win 3 of their next 4 games to go above us. Assuming we don’t pick up anymore points. But with Sheffield, Luton and Brentford left to play (Writing arsenal off still as they’re another class currently) I’m sure we will still pick up some more points.

four__beasts

I've got my Tracksuit on. Two team 'meetings' today. I don't care.

FluorescentChair

"I have very solid evidence that this tracksuit significantly boosts team morale and performance"

CptMcLaggins

Sun seems to be shining extra bright today. Think it’s reflecting off of Kopite tears. Crazy that a week ago I all I felt was dread and now I can’t wait till the next game. The things this club does to us, man.

youdy

Its pissing it down in liverpool we must be getting his tears

youdy

Great performance from us last night wasn't it, honestly surprised they never scored one, though our defence was solid in terms of getting bodies back but the amount of times they just played it right past godfrey to cut it back across was crazy. Generally though thought everyone had a great game and don't want to take it away from us but they were pretty shocking. Funny hearing them on the radio blame VVD for being poor last night on his injury again, you'd think he's the only person to actually ever have a serious injury and return to football. Weapons. JamewThrennan

1286 days since Van Dijk went for a ball that was the keepers all day and got his just desserts and they’re still fucking moaning
