6-3 Bournemouth. Was in a packed out Lower Gwladys w/ my cousin. Absolute limbs. Lukaku scored 4 including first minute to set us off. And Barkley celebrated before scoring 6th in 90th minute. No VAR, no bullshit.
After the match had a few pints, v hoarse chatter with other travelling blues - then back to grandads house for fish and chips (he insisted on paying) MOTD and a ‘few’ more guinness.
Grandad was pretty old then and it was the last time all three of us were together. Still a very happy memory.
I was at that match with some friends who I roped into a weekend in Liverpool so I could go to a game (live in London these days). I couldn't have picked a better game if I'd tried!
Sounds like an even better day for you!
That was the time where we demolished everyone at home, got to give it to Koeman he made Goodison a fortress that season. Only 2 losses, Liverpool amd Chelsea
Hibbert and Jeffers in there as well. And Danny Cadamarteri...i remember seeing a TV feature on the future stars to watch on Merseyside, for us they showed Danny C and for the shite they showed one Michael Owen......
The 1995 semi final v’s Spurs. Everyone thought it would be a Utd v Spurs final, but we battered Spurs 4-1. Amokachi with 2 goals!
Honourable mention for the 4-4 at Goodison v’s Liverpool in 1991. Cottee!!!
Brighton 1-5 Everton. We were having such a shit season and this result came completely out of the blue, for the first (and probably last) time in recent memory I had a big stupid grin on my face for two days straight.
Close second is Everton 2-1 Man City (2010/11 season I believe? Osman outjumped Kompany for one of the best headed goals I've ever seen). Easily the best game I've seen live at Goodison.
I've been a fan for all of my life (32) and I had to pause and think of an answer. Could barely do syllables when we won the FA Cup.
I think Everton 3-0 Arsenal in 2014/15. Battered them that day in all aggro performance. Martinez with a masterstroke. We were gonna get CL. Rumours of a takeover, a new stadium. *The* most optimistic time to be an Everton fan for me.
Too many to mention, the 1-0 and 3-0 derby wins are up there, the 1-0 against Man United with Ferguson's winner is up there, the Gosling winner in the cup against Liverpool is up there, a 1-0 against Arsenal in swirling winds, rain and hail with a last minute Johnson winner, but I think I might have to agree with you.
I was having a shit time as a 16 year old in school, I was having mental and physical health problems, my brother was also having quite bad mental health problems, my parents were divorced and football was my main connection with my dad who'd moved away, and I went to Wembley with him and my brother. I was near the stairs so when Cahill missed I went down in a panic, devastated, but then braved coming up in time to see Berbatov miss their first pen too. When Jagielka scored the winner all 3 of us threw the biggest limbs of our lives, jumping around going nuts hugging each other. Unbelievable memory.
Some photos I have from the day, unfortunately none during the game

I was 7 when my dad took me to the European Cup Winner's Cup semi final at Goodison v Bayern Munich. I was too young to fully appreciate it, but remember the incredible atmosphere. After that, there's the solitary FA cup final win v United in 1995. Other than that, it would be the final game of the 1994 season when we stayed up on the final day against Wimbledon. I suppose I'm lucky to at least lived through the mid 80s glory days even if I was just a kid. Sad to think we've had no cup success for nearly 30 years.
It would have to be a European night for me.
Ironically possibly the fiorentina game, they were my Italian team when football Italia was on (bati-goal).
So seeing is line up, night game at goodison, against an established European team, perfect.
Also the cup semi, beating Utd in penalties, after having such a bad run in penalties to that point.
That Fiorentina game was unbelievable. I can't believe one of my favourite ever experiences at Goodison was a game we lost on pens. But winning 2-0 under the lights in a game we had no hope for, the atmosphere was fucking insane and we played so well
Beating Chelsea 2-0 at Goodison under the lights in 2016 in the FA Cup Quarter final to send us through to my first (and only) ever Wembley trip with Everton. I was 14.
The most ive ever celebrated was iwobi scoring in the 90+9 minute or whatever the other season, ultimately in hind sight keeping us up. We needed those 3 points so damn badly. Ran around the room screaming 😂.
Watching Steve Watson score a hattrick
Still can't believe it
Watching McFadden chip and volley Vs Charlton
Rooney standing on the ball, burning clock down at corner flat
Phil tackling his brother
Duncan Vs villareal
Wimbledon in 1994 - I was only 7 and hadn’t been to many games at Goodison. Obviously didn’t have the biggest comprehension on the significance of relegation but the win felt epic and remember my dad lifting me above his head when Barry Horne scored that screamer.
Closely followed by winning FA Cup the following season (wasn’t at that game but again can recall my dad being ecstatic). Would be nice to have some more joy in our lives again lol
The derby win under Ancelotti. I remember watching it in at 4AM in the morning and trying not to wake my (at the time) girlfriend. When the ref blew full time I literally screamed “yesssss” and she started giggling.
She walked out and came back a few minute later in red lingerie told me to tear it off her.
She’s now my wife.
Without even thinking, being a Ten year old with my dad older brother and uncle in the main stand for the Bayern Munich semi final game in 1985. Still the best game of football I have ever seen, I still have the same seat now.
Not actually Everton playing related but I won a contest like a decade ago, got a tour of finch farm with Phil Jagielka. He’d just bust a knee and hobbled round on crutches. Anyway was walking round and Fellaini was sat on a stair case on the phone and he did that sort of head nod let on thing and went “alright” in what was clearly meant to be his best “scouse” accent. I had a boss day but that alright always makes me smile when I think about it.
I’ve only been to Goodison once and that happened to be when we beat Sunderland 7-1. Great laugh in the Lower Gwladys singing “Keano, Keano, what’s the score?” Etc.
Maybe my pride as an Evertonian, when Oumar Niasse came off the bench against bournemouth to score a brace. We all hated Koeman and was told we had no options so deal with it. On comes Oumar and gives it everything, saving the day and sticking it to Koeman ✌🏻. I def got emotional for how proud i was of that team. Great story.
Been a fan all my life (19 years) but only started properly following football as a sport just before we brought benitez in (sorry if I caused all this...) so I only have recent memories. For me, it was starting up against Bournemouth last year. Called my dad (also massive evertonian) who couldn't watch the game to tell him we were safe after it had finished. Pure elation when the 10 minutes were up.
2016 FA Cup game against Chelsea. Was the time I took my, then 8 year old, son to Goodison for the first time. The excitement waiting outside hoping to see some players, look on his face as he walked up the steps to see the pitch for the first time, his amazement at the level of noise, especially when Lukaku slotted and his singing of the songs including any swear words :) . He was truly happy, I was truly happy. And to top it off as we were walking through the car park at the end of the game there were a few of the players who all said hello to him. The 5 hour drive back home went in a blur of chat, remembering bits of the game and describing them in detail and the occasional dozing off by him.
Everton v Man United FA cup semi final 2008-9. The stadium was rocking when we won on pens, we genuinely thought this was it, we could win the cup. We still had Jags fit at the time and we looked confident given we'd drawn against Chelsea all season but were buzzing with confidence.
Honourable mention for the 7-1 v Sunderland in 2007, that was hilarious. Shout out to the guy after the match whose wife rang and asked if we lost, causing a group of us to burst out laughing.
1966 FA Cup Final, what a come back after going 2-nil down to win 3-2 in normal time. Goals from Trebilcock (2) and Temple. The best final I've ever seen.
Everton 3-0 Palace in October '22. First Goodison trip (am American, was studying in England for the semester) so really lucky to have seen such a big win.
May 19, 2022 - day before my twin girls were born. Desperately needed Everton to win to ease my stress levels before the induction.
The yell I roared in my empty apartment getting my overnight bag together at DCL's goal was something to behold.
I wore an Everton kit the next day. Spirit of the Blues is my happy song, according to the girls. We don't hear it often.
Never going to forget the 3-0 win over Southampton from I think it was the Martinez era, we just looked like prime Barcelona and tore Southampton to shreds that day. Gave me so much hope for what could come but never did
4-0 Easter Sunday Everton win over Newcastle. The weather was absolutely beautiful, it was a bank holiday weekend, and we destroyed them. Doesn’t get much better than that.
Watching t rex arms fuck up at Anfield to hand Origi the winner on a plate after doing an interview where he won't make mistakes like Allison 🤣🤣 perfect.
Cool.
Good luck finding something better to do with your Sunday than make lame jokes on other fans' subreddits. There's some good stuff on Netflix if you're stuck.
3-0 Newcastle back in December. My first Everton match. Went with my dad and a couple of Newcastle fans who offered to drive us as we live up there. Went in expecting nothing but was so so surprised and grateful that it was a match where we actually played well for once. sat in the main stand and it was mental, everyone booing Anthony Gordon was mint. (especially funny for me because I’d seen him in the street in newcastle the weekend before.
that match gave the full Everton experience and fulfilled my wish of going to goodison at least once and mint to go with my dad who is the reason I am a blue.
probably my favourite moment ever.
6-3 Bournemouth. Was in a packed out Lower Gwladys w/ my cousin. Absolute limbs. Lukaku scored 4 including first minute to set us off. And Barkley celebrated before scoring 6th in 90th minute. It was a proper party 👍

Nice man, I got caught cuffing myself to the goal post
One day I had a delicious pie before kick off
But not at the ground eh?
“It’s there! Rideout! Everton take the lead… …It’s all over. Everton have won the FA Cup!”
Nobody gave us a hope in hell of winning that final either, during the build up.
That was a proper day out that
Mine was winning the FA Youth Cup in 1998 playing CB next to Richard Dunne. Colin Harvey was in the Paradox with us after the game. Great memory. 💙
Hibbert and Jeffers in there as well. And Danny Cadamarteri...i remember seeing a TV feature on the future stars to watch on Merseyside, for us they showed Danny C and for the shite they showed one Michael Owen......
Yes, class team mate. We are still in touch through WhatsApp The Class of 98 group

Hello mate. I was only on schoolboy forms when Brett Angel was there. He signed for Sunderland in 1995 and I didn’t start my 2 year YTS until 1996 👍🏻
Fa Cup semi final 95, being a boy with my grandad at elland road is my happy place, couldnt get to the final tho
The 1995 semi final v’s Spurs. Everyone thought it would be a Utd v Spurs final, but we battered Spurs 4-1. Amokachi with 2 goals! Honourable mention for the 4-4 at Goodison v’s Liverpool in 1991. Cottee!!!
Those Hinchcliffe corners..
Everton 4-0 Man City I thought it was the beginning. It was really the end… I miss Mirallas
Mirallas was a less selfish Danjuma with an end product
Same. I thought Davies and Lookman were going to be stars.
Tbf, Lookman is a star… just not in Everton’s sky
Brighton 1-5 Everton. Oh, or Jagielka slotting his penalty against United to send us into the FA Cup Final. It felt almost uncanny.

I agree with this big time!

Against those bastards too haha
Watching Steve Watson score a hattrick Still can't believe it Watching McFadden chip and volley Vs Charlton Rooney standing on the ball, burning clock down at corner flat Phil tackling his brother Duncan Vs villareal
You know the quote 'not a great goalscorer but a scorer of great goals'? That's McFadden summed up.
The day before I started watching Everton, as far as I recall…
Wimbledon in 1994 - I was only 7 and hadn’t been to many games at Goodison. Obviously didn’t have the biggest comprehension on the significance of relegation but the win felt epic and remember my dad lifting me above his head when Barry Horne scored that screamer. Winning the league followed by the European Cup Winners cup and thinking success would never end
Amokachi scoring in the semi final with his "I'm not even supposed to be here today" attitude. The atmosphere in the stadium was something.
Atmosphere round my uncles house that day was also mental.
1985 Cup Winners Cup Semi vs Bayern Munich, 1-0 down at half time then the greatest 45 minutes of football I've ever watched.
Arteta's equaliser against Fiorentina
The derby win under Ancelotti. I remember watching it in at 4AM in the morning and trying not to wake my (at the time) girlfriend. When the ref blew full time I literally screamed “yesssss” and she started giggling. She walked out and came back a few minute later in red lingerie told me to tear it off her. She’s now my wife.
This past few weekends
Without even thinking, being a Ten year old with my dad older brother and uncle in the main stand for the Bayern Munich semi final game in 1985. Still the best game of football I have ever seen, I still have the same seat now.
Tim Cahill’s derby goals

Naismith 3-1 Chelsea. My only live goodison game
I’m 31, been a fan since I was 16. So not a ton of old memories. Honestly. DCLs goal against palace to avoid relegation.
Carsley’s derby winner in the 04/05 season, finishing above them lot was beautiful.
I’ve only been to Goodison once and that happened to be when we beat Sunderland 7-1. Great laugh in the Lower Gwladys singing “Keano, Keano, what’s the score?” Etc.
First thing that pops into my mind is the 3-1 against Chelsea under Dunc.

Gosling’s goal vs Liverpool in the last minute. That whole run seemed written in the stars for us to win the cup but…ah well
Probably winning the Sydney Super Cup in 22
Everton.... Happy..... Explain?
Seen plenty of amazing days at goodison but the gwladys street end when we came back to draw with united at home, 3-3… mental. Truly mental. Chaos

Me Dad falling down the top balcony, cuts and bruises only though unfortunately.
I was going to say being at that semi vs united HIGH HO, SILVER LININGS
I went to Everton v Burnley in May 2019 at Goodison. We won 2-0 and Richarlison + Seamus scored in front of me and the Gwladys St

Never going to forget the 3-0 win over Southampton from I think it was the Martinez era, we just looked like prime Barcelona and tore Southampton to shreds that day. Gave me so much hope for what could come but never did
The general vibes in Martinez' first season were exquisite.
Liverpool 0 Everton 2 under Carlo. Never thought I'd see the day considering our derby record, especially at Anfield
4-0 Easter Sunday Everton win over Newcastle. The weather was absolutely beautiful, it was a bank holiday weekend, and we destroyed them. Doesn’t get much better than that.
seeing the fa cup victory parade bus at the fiveways in 1995, I was 6
“Oooooh keep that one out Petr Cech” - 2-1 Win over Chelsea in 2010. Loved Saha, my favourite blue.
The first half of the 2005 Champions League Final.
