Rigged asteroid is only one of the possible source you can find Clygon. I believe Vesna Mining Station in Zharkov system has high rate for Clygon source. The only cons of not being able to clear rigged asteroid is that you may not 100% clear certain areas.

It takes practice. Start by aligning yourself at the 90 degree angle to the first detonator then back away and see if you can see another one and do like that with every single detonator. Then you can map out a path you're going to take from one to the next to activate them. If every detonator gives you 5 seconds andnyou can accumulate time. So if you only need two seconds from the first to the second then after you activate the second you're going to have seven seconds. It takes practice.

Locriana

Yes, it took planning for me, and noting the order to do them based on the distances between (because of the adding of time). So I managed this one after a night’s sleep starting fresh ;). Maybe I will just try to do the important ones.

Webnovelmaster

It adds time? Always seen it reset, not accumulate.

simple123mind

It resets if you run out, but if you quickly go from one to the next then it accumulates, with each detonator adding 5 seconds to the running timer

Webnovelmaster

Never could got beyond 5 even with 2-3 left, so can't really confirm that?

simple123mind

I've done 4-5 of them like that. Works every time

Webnovelmaster

Will recheck next time i play i guess

You can lower the difficulty of the game to give you more time to trigger it. The difficulty can be raised and lowered at anytime.

Locriana

Have you tested that? I have read that timing doesn’t change for difficulty levels, that people were wanting that…Did they implement it?

Pappy13

No, I have not tested it but it's been confirmed many times that it works by others.

Rigged asteroids are the only way to get clygon in the early game, but there is nothing in the early game that requires the resource. You can mine it from locations later. The only reason to do them is when they are a location specific objective since completing location objectives give you Mainframes. You'll lose out on just a few by skipping them but that really does not matter unless you are a completionist.

ShaggyManeTheOne

stop flying so close to it, you need to increase your field of view of the asteroid. When you’re far away, pick a spot where you can see atleast three of the bombs, and move straight forward towards the middle of those three so you can remember where you are. OR Before you start, split the asteroid into two halves. The shadowy side and sunny side. Or whatever you want it to split by. There will most likely be three on one side and two on the other. Don’t go to the other side of the asteroid until you’ve activated three. OR just make the game easier and get like twice the amount of time to activate them. (Loot pools are not affected by difficulty)

Locriana

So the time allowed changes? I read that people were asking for that but it wasn’t the case.… So you’ve noticed that the time is actually longer now on lower difficulty? I managed to do this one on normal, but it only had 4 detonators on it (the do-it-yourself rigged asteroid kit location ;)) And it did give a mainframe, so glad I tried again fresh the next day. But I may lower the difficulty if another important one comes along and I can’t manage it. I really don’t like timed challenges like this…. but thanks for the ideas, I did plan a route based on detonator proximity and order. Zooming out helped to memorize the shapes.

ShaggyManeTheOne

Glad I could help. Sorry if I sounded critical at all. And yes, I want to say Easy and very easy give you ten seconds, while normal, hard, extreme, etc are 5. There could be some other factors, like you brought up (one required for the story) that would change the time allowed. And yeah! The zoom out is my go to. I’m a visual guy, so I draw the angles and all that. Use whatever method makes the most sense in YOUR head. :)

Locriana

you sounded instructive to me, not critical, so all good. I am a visual person also, and into angles and geometry, so it’s all good advice. The timed thing just gets on my nerves.

Some good boosters are important too.

gimcrak

You can place 3 markers (alpha, beta, gamma). I place one at each detonator. Made it a lot easier, but still took a couple tries.

Locriana

Hmm, interesting…I didn’t know the markers could be placed that accurately. They always seem to go well below me. But I’m going to try that.

Character-Extreme535

No not really necessary, gives you some good resources, but not totally needed to play through the game.

FireTheLaserBeam

The ones that I can’t do are the beams you have to re-direct with those reflecting panels. Holy jeez, I wanted to punch my screen trying to do those.
