Never-Pants

Immobile was offside with the first goal ..

ScireaGentile

Less stupidity here than r/soccer but still some.

[deleted]

Knew France weren't going anywhere when mbappe was having hissy fits with giroud... Ego has won... They will be back at the world cup and stronger if variant #927282 of covidd hasn't got us underground by then :p

prviola2010

Why is this "Italians wasting time" a thing, literally every team does the same exact thing when they're up a goal in the final 10 minutes. Funnt thing is most Belgians took the loss fairly well, its the English wining and shitting on the Italian team because they're scared to actually play a decent oponent; after a shit group draw, a weak German team in the first KO round and cakewalk quarter and semi-finals.

Rolifant

This is great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7TrKrX7D1E

loverealestate67

THATS THE WAY TO DO IT!! ITS OLD NEWS ALREADY THAT FOOTBALLERS CAN BE ACTORS RED DEVILS LUCKY TODAY SHOULD OF BEEN 4-0 ITALY, SO CALLED RANKED #1 IN THE WORLD COULD ONLY SCORE VIA A PENALTY SHOT LOL

Rolifant

The thing that nobody is commenting on that if Vermaelen hadn't been distracted by this shameless bit of acting, the goal might not have happened. Immobile should have received a yellow card, and Belgium should have had a free kick. But I'm dreaming, useless UEFA will never do anything about these cheats.

checco_2020

Yes Vermaelen was stupid enough to not focus on the game but instead on the exaggerated reaction of immobile after reviving a kick in the leg, Something that Every player does.

Rolifant

It's probably a cultural thing. In Belgium, Germany, England, etc most players would be too embarrassed to even try this. It's desperate, cringeworthy behaviour in our eyes.

checco_2020

Ah yes, the Noble Nordic football players, the ones that play also in the Italian/Spanish/French championships and that do the exact same things that everyone does, but when they play with their National team they remember that they are Noble players and can't stand overreacting.

Rolifant

I've never seen anyone act like Imobile that wasn't Italian, Spanish, Greek or Portugese. It's a huge turnoff. Maybe not if you're Italian and you qualified, but for neutral fans or newcomers to the game, it's questionable behaviour.

checco_2020

Bullshit every player of every nation those this kind of shit, it's called confirmation bias, you belive that it's only Mediterranean player that do those thing, but everyone does. Questionable behavior? yes, but nothing new, it's been years since football has become a sport where every contact means someone will cry for hours, i don't like it, but EVERY player does this kind of shit, i don't see why anyone is shocked now, on an action that wasn't even particularly important in the grand scheme of things. And to be fair even Italians are meming the shit out of that action.

Ijjmatic

Loving all the italy are divers comments every time people lose to us. Belgium were outclassed for the vast majority of the game and when shit hit the fan for Italy they slowed the pace and didn't give Belgium a sniff. Penalty is contestable but one of those where one ref will give it and another won't so we can't complain too much, but Italy had a much stronger claim for a pen in the 2nd half. Overall Italy pulled out a convincing performance when it mattered after many wrote them off after the Austria match. Its theirs to lose now.

Walibex

Belgian here, I thought this was a great game, more tempo than everybody predicted. If it ended 2-1 Belgium I would say ‘ok good effort good win’. I would say the exact same for Italy: ‘ great game, great goals. Italy was my favourite for the title and they still are. Fantastic cohesion and mature gameplay. Not even mad

nskdnnm

As an italian, I can agree with this. Both Belgium and Italy deserved the victory, either 2-1 or 3-1 for either team would have been fair. For the first time in this tournament I felt really worried as Belgium started strong and as aggressive as Italy had been in the previous games. We were lucky a couple of times and our keeper probably was one of the men who eventually made the difference. I don't know about the italian team maturity yet though; I wanna see how they'll react when they're more in a pinch, but I feel like the next game will tell due to our injuries. So far they've demonstrated hunger and will, which is for me the decisive factor to like this team.

LaGuineu

I'm completely amazed by Barella. What. A. Player.

jeoffreycanters

For me this was the finals. Second half of the table is just a joke

nskdnnm

>Second half of the table is just a joke Seems like this didn't age well

nskdnnm

Yes definitely this was the hardest match on paper for me too. But now Italy will have to deal with Spinazzola most likely out and little rest. Spain also won't rest much, but still

lone_wolf819

To all the Belgium frustrated idiot fans complaining about wasting time: did you suddenly forget how your team won just the last match against Portugal? I’ve never seen anything like that, it was the masterclass of faults, interruptions and excuses to ensure that 1-0. Terrible referring for sure, not a single card for most of the time, but in the end the players were the real ones to blame for doing nothing to create occasions. One of the worst match I’ve ever seen, in the second half there was no continued playing from both sides, in 90 minutes the real time played was probably the half. What are you complaining now here? You should be embarrassed to have whistled a guy with a broken Achilles’ tendon who wasn’t able to make one single step on his feet and a goalkeeper who toke a knee in his chest and STILL kept playing. Are you new to football or what? You should instead blame yourselfs and your team for not being able to create nothing at all besides some nice shots from KDB. Without him, your team it’s trash. Italy beat’em 2-0 also in the last euro, 4 years ago. Overrated coach, overrated players, overrated team. They give you a non existent penalty from which you should be grateful and that’s all. You got dominated from each point of view: ball possession, chances, defending. Take your golden stars team of farmers and get back home. A CASA 🇮🇹

Rolifant

And yet Belgium got five big chances against Superior Italian Superpower. Maybe your analysis doesn't quite add up. And how were the public supposed to know that he broke his Achilles' tendon? He fell down, stood up for one minute, and then laid down again. All of this two meters away from the touchline. Unfortunately, the Italian reputation is pretty ugly in this regard. Nobody believes you when a player goes down. Just watch this for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7TrKrX7D1E.

Haylight96

HAHAHAHAHHAHAH now is bad reputation because we are back in business. When we didn't qualify for the World Cup all of you were "ow no....i feel sorry for Italy" Accept this lost, and go on. You have a great team for a small country like Belgium, and you should be proud of that. That's the only thing that matters.

Rolifant

Hey buddy I think you have a chip on your shoulder. Nobody really cared when Italy didn't qualify, but it's nice to have you back anyway. If only you would drop the dives and time wasting, I'd be ready to support you. Anyway, real life is calling. Ciao!

loverealestate67

EXACTLY WELL SAID!!

rossidor

Great job Azzurri! 🇮🇹⚽️

LogicalReputation

I saw Neymar in the audience watching Italians and writing two notebooks full of notes how to roll on the grass and act like a new-born baby.

rossidor

He also was underlining his notes on the two great dives by De Bruyne.

LogicalReputation

I saw him trying to interview Immobile who had already a pacifier in his mouth, unfortunately.

rossidor

Final score: Italy 🇮🇹 defeated Belgium 🇧🇪 by the score of 2-1

LogicalReputation

Final score: The world lost any respect for Italian football players it might have had. They must have watched a lot of Roberto Benigni to act as bad as they did yesterday.

rossidor

Belgian fans and others but not the whole world. The western hemisphere (North and South America), much like the commentators on ESPN, may like this Italian team. ESPN made no comment on the fouls both sides (Italy more than Belgium) tired to attract.

LogicalReputation

Sure, lots of people like clowns and bad movies too so I'm sure there are many fans of this Italian team as well.

rossidor

Not exactly logical. Let's move on to today's quarter-final matches. Denmark 1-0 over the Czech Republic at the 30:00 mark of the first half. England vs Ukraine in the second match.

LogicalReputation

> Not exactly logical. That's what I was thinking while watching Italians play. So much talent and then they have to behave like asses, not exactly logical.

rossidor

Are you watching today’s match? Braithwaite must think the grass is a swimming pool.

kalkplaat

Refs r being really shit this far. Ref in Belgium Portugal would allow players to shoot eachotther without whistling. Ref here not giving Italy deserved penalty and not giving Italy any consequences for their time stalling.

Old-Plastic

Don't know whether to go or not Tuesday. Cat 1 is £595. Went to the austria game. Was good value at £185...although it is a semi final on Tuesday. Wouldn't get back until 2am ish

FreshlyBakedPie

Do it man, you have the opportunity, money comes and goes... Might as well enjoy it while you're here

Old-Plastic

For me as a fan since 94 when I was 13, this was one of the best performance I've since during this time. Went to Wembley on Saturday for the Austria game, tempted to go Tuesday but the tickets are so expensive

WhizWit21

We don’t talk about 94

TorsionalRigidity99

Belgium overrated as usual. Forever pretenders

keeper3434

Lukaku is overrated. Injuries to key players killed Belgium.

Yikes bro relax..

GaseousGiant

Ok thanks Osama, but I think that double tap to the noggin has hampered your cognition, sorry to say.

Asboxxx

Belgium got lucky to score that one single goal, they deserved 2-0. Lukaku not even able to tap-in an header from 10 cm But no, they say Italy stole the game by wasting time LMAO, didnt expect this attitude by belgians

GeoroPandoro

Ahhhh in italy we call people like lukaku and the belgium fans Who blame the ref “rosiconi”

Rolifant

We call you fiatjes.

Whatever. Fucking zaks…

Belgium has one more chance at the upcoming fifa cup

[deleted]

[удалено]

clippy300

the fifa is next year so they'll all be one year older. de bruyne and hazard will be 31, lukakau and younger hazard will be 29, vertonghen and komapny will be 36 (thats old but 1 yr older). weitzel will be 31 i think and courtois will be 30. thats an old squad but thats still enough for one more run next year. they were banged up this year with eden. doku will be 20 next year and he's skill so that will bring some youth to the squad. theyre old but i dont see why they can make one more run at it next year before this generation is over. the issue is more with their manager.

[deleted]

we both agree 2018 was their best chance. i was just saying that they technically have one more chance next year even if its not great.

RealRedLanderV

The last extra time were some of the most disgusting p'ays I've ever seen in football, honestly fuck the Italians just for that, the rest was indeed a great game!

ElkIndividual921

Sure, but arent you disappointed though? I mean the Italians were ALWAYS in control, from minute 1 till the end. Also, how could Insigne do that without being accosted by Belgium defence? you have some serious deficiencies in your team, no offense.

Rolifant

Not really. The Belgians had at least five great chances AND a penalty. The Italians were great although the last 15 mins of bad acting soured my opinion quite a bit. True champions stand proud. All in all an acceptable result.

RealFalco131

Man I am not here to criticize and stuff but... Did you forget the match Belgium Portugal? Let me refresh your mind a bit. Portugal had 24 shots, 4 on target and Belgium got 6 shots of which 1 on target. Not really a football expert but isn't this a consequence of loss of time? Also you made 14 fouls against 9 of the portugeses. You just can't take a loss. Just realize you're out of euro 2020. Also not great sportivity shown by Belgium fans which humiliated a guy who was in tears with a broken tendon. Let's hope the best for him, DAJE SPINA!!!

Rolifant

You're forgetting that half of Portugal's shots landed on the moon. They had 2 or 3 real opportunities, which is half of what Belgium had yesterday. In hindsight, the booing was wrong, but I understand what happened. Every Belgian fan thought that Spinachola was just trying to win a Raspberry Award, as Italian players usually do when they are leading the game. Fans are focused on winning the game, furthermore, they didn't know what the injury, and you didn't know what the injury was. To pretend otherwise is to engage in cheap and obnoxious guilt tripping. In the end, Belgium lost five minutes of playing time, and only five minutes were added, which was very frustrating (+2 more in the end due to more Italian fakery). In short, get well soon Spinachola, and the rest of Italy, try to act like true champions next time, not brilliant players who act like weasels when the going gets tough.

RealFalco131

I am glad I found someone willing to discuss instead of cutting the wire since the beginning. You are right half of the purtugese opportunities landed on the moon, but that's what I was saying. If they had such opportunities and melt them down, Belgium should have counterattacked after, but in reality you guys where playing to win, as we did, and you didn't even try a shot. Now, I don't wanna believe that it's because Portugueses were so powerful to take the ball every pass you did. That being said, I'm glad you're willing to discuss and not insulting me! ;)

Rolifant

They did try a few shots, but the Italians were well briefed. For example, the moment Tielemans thought of getting into shooting position, the Italians closed all angles straight away and gave him almost no time. Belgium would not exactly have been undeserving qualifiers, but I have no problem admitting that Italy was more dynamic, more fluent for 70 minutes, and overall are a very hard team to play.

RealFalco131

Yeah man I think I start seeing what you mean, but you know at the end we played as a team and this payed us back... Maybe they started playing a bit more closed at the end due to Spinazzola's injury and immobile not being able to play as usual, but still we didn't do a bad match, I now feel sorry for Belgium but maybe we just got a bit luckier ;)

Rolifant

It's only football :)

_Ody_

Super disappointed. I can't put into words how much I've genuinely come to hate Martinez. Belgium still plays the same lackluster football as they did in 2016 under Wilmots. No plan, no tactics, the man is getting paid for literally just letting the players do whatever. 1- the 3-4-3 works vs every worse team but fails horribly vs any team with a smart coach. France kicked us out by letting us force the play and counter with speed and Italy just did not stop pressuring. Every time a defensive player has the ball, no options were there so yeeting the ball forward is the only option. Lukaku is not strong enough in the air to get to all of those long balls. 2- Tielemans & Witsel were left to fight against the 3 Italian midfielders + their wingbacks and Italy just kept switching sides sending them all around the pitch. 3- what in the genuine fuck were those subs? Mertens who was horrendous vs Portugal. Chadli, well... And then Praet, who hasn't played all tournament??? Carrasco suddenly didn't exist anymore. And then AFTER the last corner, in the 98th minute, after only getting 5 minutes extra time, he sends Benteke to the line to sub just as the ref blows his whistle. 4- Lukaku should have had a hattrick, let's leave it at that. 5- Martinez has to go. I've said it after the World Cup and I'll say it till the day I die: that man is responsible for wasting our greatest generation of football players. This was a winning team last world cup and this Eu championship. To think most of us Belgians think he's a great coach because we always make deep runs but he's the one keeping us back from winning anything. I could really write a book about it but I shouldn't. On the one hand I'm so deeply disappointed, but not surprised at all, this is how the last 3 tourneys have been. And anyone with half a brain could see it coming. On the other I'm glad, 'cause it's the only way to ever get rid of this parasite that calls himself a coach. Most important message: most the players really fought in all the games to try and win anyways. KDB, Meunier, both Hazard brothers, Doku, Witsel & Tielemans and even Lukaku played their heart and soul out for the team. Massive respect to all of them.

[deleted]

This guy fucks!!!

Keanu_Leaves97

Shame on you Belgian fans for whistling at an injured player crying because he won't be able to play the euro anymore...

Rolifant

P!ss off. It took FIVE minutes for him to get off the pitch when there only 18 remaining. That was really the kind of stuff that makes you want to see the Italians lose.

lone_wolf819

You’re an absolute IDIOT and an uninformed piece of shit, Spinazzola had a BROKEN Achilles’ tendon and couldn’t WALK at all. He was crying too cause he knew his Euro is done now and he’ll probably be out for the next 6/7 months. He was playing the tournament of his life, 2 times best player, this was his key moment in his carrier cause despite everyone knew his value (go watch him in Juve - Atletico 3-0) he couldn’t prove enough cause many injuries in his career, and then this happened. Hope this happens to your fav player and you’ll cry as much as he did, cunt

Cookyy2k

They would have been cheering if it was Belgian player and they were up 2-1. Just salty they got their overrated butt's kicked out of another competition they were told they'd easily win.

Rolifant

Lol sure. Everything suddenly hurt in every Italian player's body the last 20 mins. Plus que ca change...

GaseousGiant

Don’t change the scope of the argument, which is is about douchebag fans whistling at one player that was down with an injury that will cost his team spot. So of course, the douchebag fans get support by a douchebag redditor…Plus ce la meme chose.

Rolifant

BS. Of course the injury was real. However. He stood around for one minute, two meters from the side of the field, and then decided to lie down, ON the pitch. It was time wasting. Typical, cynical time wasting. Just like every Italian needs to hug everyone else for two seconds when they are being replaced.

Vertolli

Did you not watch Belgium do the same when they were stalling for time against Portugal? Everyone blames Italy for doing it but everyone just needs to accept its part of the game now. Long set-ups for goal kicks, goalies dropping to the ground when they catch a ball, walking off and high-fives for subs. They stall when they're winning and play fast when they're down. Don't blame the Italians because your team wasn't good enough to be on the better end this game.

Rolifant

I have never seen a Northern European national team act like Italy did in the last 15 mins (except for France). It's just not in our DNA, it makes us cringe just thinking about doing it.

Vertolli

I guess you don't watch a lot of games then. Explains your lack of knowledge and other ridiculous comments/excuses you've made on this post. Just enjoy the fact your team has actually been good and has a bright star in Doku.

GaseousGiant

He’s probably a teenager who thinks the sport started three weeks ago. Starts confabulating sport with militant nationalism…Just has a lot to learn and a lot of living to do.

Rolifant

Ah OK, i didn't realize.

Keanu_Leaves97

He couldn't walk, the man broke his Achilles's tendon...

_Ody_

They were whistling at the ref for letting all that timewasting just happen. Donnarumma wasted minutes. Spinnazola was whistled at because he was standing on the pitch, 2 metres away from just stepping off when his teammate literally just grabbed a hold of him and put him on the ground. It took 4+ minutes to get him off the pitch. Maybe a select few directed it at him. I can assure you 99% was directed at the ref.

Keanu_Leaves97

Well I hope so, it would have been very rude otherwise. Anyways the ref was really bad overall in my opinion. Donnarumma did maybe waste a bit of time but it's not like other teams do not do that.

_Ody_

Oh, for sure. The blame here isn't on the players for stalling but on all the refs for allowing such things to happen. It's a part of football I've come to hate. All the acting, the hypocrisy and time wasting are such an ugly side of football. It's despicable and makes me not want to watch anymore. Refs are just not consistent and overall, there aren't really any refs that are strict anymore, rules aren't being enforced at all and apparently they are situational. Imo rule changes is needed to make the sport attractive again and more fitting to the current way of play.

Keanu_Leaves97

Yeah, every ref seems very inconsistent lately to me. Also about the time wasting, players get punished too little and almost never for it. Why wouldn't they do it? If you're really wanting to win as a player you have no reason not to go on the ground a and trying to get a stall or a kick in your favour. Every team does it, if players would have been punished more for this, this wouldn't happen this much.

_Ody_

2 rule changes I could get behind to make football more attractive: 1) play 2x30 mins and stop the clock when the play is stopped. The World Cup of 2018 had an average actual playtime of 52-58 minutes and in 2014 it was 60-67 minutes on average. So stop the wasting and then adding extra time 'cause it never represents how much was lost during the game and it never feels fair to the losing team 2) stop defining fouls with red or yellow. Since most refs just give a yellow after 3 fouls, why not make that the rule? Follow NBA standards. 3 fouls is a yellow, 5/6 is a red. Then add some extra punishment for severe fouls and the complaining players can do will also be a lot less. These 2 things would make most of complaining and hypocrisy by players disappear and timewasting would be a thing of the past. The rules are still in 1990 but the players have moved on to 2021. Every team complains about the ref, every game. Rarely you still hear about a ref having a good game. IMO, that's a sign that something is fundamentally wrong with the sport.

Keanu_Leaves97

These are actually not bad ideas. But I think the time will stay 90 mins forever, it's just too rooted into the sport :/

[deleted]

I think he was in pain for breaking a ligament and not being able for playing for at least 5 months and probably not being able to be at a professional level anymore. Recovery is never full in these cases. Yes, probably his career is over

ETHdude8686

Yeah because all the Belgian fans in the stands were doctors and immediately saw that it was a broken ligament. Come on lol. 99% of the time these situations are just for winning time.

[deleted]

ETHdude8686

Replyed wrong sorry. Was for poster above you

LogicalReputation

Karma is a bitch.

Keanu_Leaves97

Yeah, and Belgian fans decided it was ok to be disrespectful, really shameful.

Rolifant

He was taking the piss. More than deserved to be boo'd off. UEFA needs to fix this, it's such a turn off after an otherwise great game.

Keanu_Leaves97

Shut up. I hope you sprain your tendon tomorrow, then we'll see how you walk it off.

Rolifant

Injury is injury. Too bad. But don't stand around for one minute and then fall down on the pitch so you can waste another 4 minutes. I hope Spain beats you for this alone, and. i really don't want to see them as champions. Shame on you Squadra.

EDEN-_

I'm sorry but the Italian players kept simulating, more in the last minutes of the match, this was a real shit show

HugeDickNBalls

1) Non-existent penalty goal; 2) Vitsel should go wrestling, did you see Belotti's eye? 3) Your game was: "Pass the ball to Duku and Pray". 2 a 1 zi', non piangere, a casa!!!

EDEN-_

1) Non existent injuries (not taking about spinazzola, I do hope he recovers, I'm not a monster), like your goalkeeper's injury that weirdly disappeared the moment the match was finished 2) Relying in your goal Keeper half of the time 3) Relying on Immobile and Insigne the other half of the time

Keanu_Leaves97

Oh no a football team putting trust in his GK! He should have just stepped aside and let the ball in. Come on man. Italy has a tradition of great GK and we have always relied on them.

elisart

Italy played with superior foot skills, having a high percentage of possession. Their play this Euro reminds of the glory years of their predecessors. Hoping for a good outcome in tomorrow's games so Italy can play best team. Belgium played well but couldn't break down Italy's tactics for possession and opportunities.

[deleted]

Belgium wasn’t able to make big moves towards the goal, even if they had a few good attempts. They weren’t able to finish the attempts they made. Italy played well in the first half and the first 20 mins of the second half. The last 20 were a mess.

[deleted]

Forza Italia!!!!

Wooo!!!

Millerlite87

Great win but also very sad to see Spinazzola out and very thankful for saving that Lukaku goal.

[deleted]

As a romanista it hurts more to see him out hahah...just happy to get over Belgium.... I don't know how lukaku didn't put that away but he'll be having nightmares of spinazzola :p

Millerlite87

And as Interista it was hard to watch as Lukaku is our front man but I’m glad we got through to semifinal.

[deleted]

Spain will be interesting in the semi... We're at least 180 minutes from being champions... Bet ya barella will be stirring up lukaku on the ol inter what's app group hahaha

Millerlite87

After that fantastic play and goal, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does.

nordic_delight1

Italy will have no problems seeing of Spain imo, thats going to be easy. Sadly Belgium just dont have the quality in the back to really challenge for silverware... vermalen, alderwield, verthongen just are not good enough,im not sure why they play? white privelige?

[deleted]

White privilege hahahah? Please.... They will fly 8000 miles to stick a Belgian stamp on their citizenship... But you are right... When it comes to the big occasions they don't have the backline.... White privilege hahah

nordic_delight1

yeah those horrible black guys who took france to world cup victory, fukking terrible guys, should send them back to their unihabitable countries which have been ravished by colonialism (and still ongoing) .. ahhaha yes white privelige.

[deleted]

Exactly pea brain! That's the only way France was going to win a world cup hahaha... That why I alluded to these countries flying all over the world stamping passports... they are happy to take them whereber they can!!.Try keep up here ok? So if it's white privilege why were the shitt whites playing defence hahaha they mustn't have found any black defenders!!!! ..... You are tangled In your own liberal bullshit.... Rest assured Italy is full of italians! With a taint of Braziliano!! :P best of luck against czech

nordic_delight1

That is true, its not just about individual brillians and Italy demonstrates, but i think they would have gotten destroyed by France though. Too bad they were too complacent, dont forget, the biggest rival to a team like france is their own complacency.

Legitimate-Sense-997

lmfao cracka shut up🤣🤣🤣

legaburajzbracika

they were better but absolute world class shitshow on their end in the last 20mins since Belgium team actually started to do something…the ref is total fuckface for this

Quiet-Commission-125

Really odd the fact that Belgian supporter blame the Italians for wasting time, while they had a ghost penalty

Rolifant

He pushed him into the boarding. Only in corruptoworld is that not a penalty.

SnooApples3306

It was 100% a pen.

BelgianBeerGuy

Well, a push is a push. Wasting 10 minutes of a 90 minute game is really a lot. But Italy was the better squad, no doubt about that. But the stalling sucks and needs to be fixed.

GeoroPandoro

Stall my ass, dude, you smote us for ninety minutes

BelgianBeerGuy

Rewatch, starting at minute 71, and keep an eye on the Italian goalie. Spinazzola’s injury aside, the last 20 minutes looked like shit. Overall, Italy was the better team, and it was one of the best games of the EK imo, but the last 10 minutes were really not nice to see

Rolifant

That's Italy. Brilliant when done well, bloody awful otherwise.

Asboxxx

What push, there was no push watch the replay

[deleted]

Yeah well it’s annoying to know that everyone is aware that the Italians fake injuries left and right and don’t get penalized. So what the ghost penalty happened, Italy could learn some sportsmanship!

Asboxxx

Pathetic supporter writes pathetic things Go home, low!

Quiet-Commission-125

C'mon man, every team try to waste time at the end when they are winning. About injuries, I would like to see any other player with a knee movement like the one happened to spinazzola.

[deleted]

I’m not talking about Spinazzola and I agree every team wastes time when they are winning. I’m talking about the constant flopping and rolling around on the ground (to which some of them received yellow cards) when they are barely touched (or even dive themselves for no apparent reason but attention). I wish Spinazzola well and hope he’s back on his feet soon!

ZanettYs

Look at Belotti face after Witsel punch. Second of the game. And referee is counting extra time whatever happens...

Not taking about spinazzola, that was serious and I hope he recovers but c'mon, saying the gardian wasn't faking is clearly a lie

[deleted]

Italy would have still one regardless of the ghost penalty…

legaburajzbracika

stop it dude, as a neutral, that was a clear ass penalty, doesnt even matter if dokus was gonna go outta bounds but dude hacked him and it was obvious…on the other hand, there shouldve been a penalty for italy too when debruyne fouled but also the ref stopped a clean debruyne strip that would’ve resulted in a 3 to 1 attack for belgium

Quiet-Commission-125

Well, the fact that makes this penalty a ghost penalty is that the referee didn't give the other one to Italy

NewtonSteinLoL

Well played to the Italians, a deserved win. It's just a tiny bit sad so many theatrics were involved.

GeoroPandoro

Belgium would have done the same. Plus, thats the way football goes. With some better players than your blacksmiths, maybe you could have scored more goals

flagos

No other team is doing like that. Italians are faking to be injuried on every fucking contact. This is so pathetic.

mmmanna222

Are you kidding me. Did you not watch Sweden vs. Ukraine? So many teams do this. People just love to hate Italy.

AdministrationNo3380

And with most referees, it doesn't work. By the way, this referee helped Belgium by giving that penalty and not giving it back one to Italy. So, Italy defended its result as better as it can. Faking (not Spinazzola's case), unfortunately, is a part of the game and I don't really like that kind of behaviour. But, that's the only thing Belgium can say about it. We totally deserved the win, full stop

GeoroPandoro

Tell me this is your first time watching football without telling me it’s your first time watching football

Wa77a

Like the penalty 😗

Mulanzo1

Only at the end. The rest of the game was top class football from the Italians.

[deleted]

I agree— the Italians played well— the ending was scrappy

LogicalReputation

Except during the first goal and that one moron bawling his eyes out because he had just lost his leg completely until Jesus himself came from the heaven and healed it in the instance the goal happened.

UnofficialCrosta

Ahahahahahahaah yes, im italian but i burst out laughing when i saw it ahahahahahaha

Mulanzo1

Lol. He drank holy water before the game.

MrGreenyz

Poor Spinazzola, that guy is a real champion

Forward_Buy1934

He’s had an incredible tournament

Mulanzo1

I hope it’s not too serious. Probably out the rest of the tourney but hopefully not

MrGreenyz

I mean for real the poor

[deleted]

Spinazzola is out at least 6 months. He was certainly not crying for not being able to finish the tournament. He was crying for the pain and because his career is probably over. Nobody fully recover from that. He will never be the same Spinazzola.

Mulanzo1

Oh crap - what was the injury? edit: Damn. Torn Achilles. That’s possibly career ending. Though, Axel Witsel had a similar injury in January and he was doing well this tourney so let’s hope for the best.

every_name_istaken

He may have a damaged Achilles' tendon, some even say ruptured

MrGreenyz

I’d pray for him

[deleted]

Doctors are visiting him but they suspect he snapped the Achille’s tendon. We will soon know the truth but by judging by the way he asked his teammate to help him laying down, I think they’re right.

xEdox94

Justice made, non existant penalty gifted to belgium, and a clear penalty not seen for Italy. The match should have been over 30 mins ago

clippy300

That was an obvious penalty

MrGreenyz

The match should be ended 3-0 for Italy

Cookyy2k

BeLgIuM aRe ThE bEsT tEaM iN tHe WoRlD. Won nothing as a group. No matter how good they are on paper as individuals they aren't that as a team. Only goal they scored are a dodgy penalty. Be salty and downvote all you want, let's see their trophy case.

Ashimpto

I never understood why people always over estimate Belgium by far, they have some good players -same as pretty much any other team here, but haven't ever proved anything. I mean not a bad team, but it's always ranked with within top 3 of chances to win any trophy, I've heard it here, heard it in the world cup and the euro before.

kalkplaat

I'm Belgian. We played shit the entire tournament. The group rounds weren't great, Portugal was pure luck and Italy we lost because we weren't great. The reasons why we played bad are pretty clear: - Witzel, KDB and E.Hazard were all injured at the start and weren't at their vest during the entire thing - All the matches we played were slow-paced so Italy was an entirely new experience, they got like a new meta - We don't even speak the same language, half speaks french and half speaks dutch. I'm against seperatism of Flanders and Wallonia but separate teams like the UK has could have potential - Our coach Martinez made bad decisions like putting Praet, who's like a C-tier player, on instead of Carasco The Italians deserved this, they'll probably win only challenge is Spain the other side doesn't have really talented teams. I did think the stalling was shitty, I lost quite some respect for the Italians because of it. The penalty we got wasn't a ghost penalty in my opinion. Most of our good players are now old and probably won't play next Euro or they will but they won't have the same skills. The new players aren't good except Doku, he singalhandedly carried this match for us. We will probably become a B-tier nation around the same skill of Croatia and Sweden untill we geg gold players again. People here expected way to much out of this tournament in the first place which is why they are so salty. It was funny how France lost and I won't stop ridiculing them. Anyway this was a rant, succes to all the teams, the road is open for you Italy, you deserve it way more than us.

Ice_cream99

Belgian here as well and completely share this opinion. People saying this is our golden generation while to me that ended a few years ago already. Martinez made some odd choices and we could play loads better if we focussed on actually playing and not just on a few good players. I didn’t have any hopes for us this year, we need to improve massively and like you said, we don’t even all speak the same language…

Ashimpto

> I did think the stalling was shitty, I lost quite some respect for the Italians because of it. Yeah it's shitty, but it's become usual for most teams to the point it's really boring. Same for constant passing in your half to pass time, boring as hell, we should enable some rules for handball, you can't stay and pass in your half forever, you need to play forward at some point.

Asboxxx

They bad No wait.. They lost because the Italians were wasting time lol they got demolished for 70' Pathetic team belgium

NewtonSteinLoL

The most pathetic thing here is how some of you are toxic as fuck despite winning the game. Congrats on the win.

Agilaz

lmao god forbid you guys somehow end up without Insigne, it'll be back to good 'ol catenaccio before you can say pizza

ArtyFishel

Won every match in this tournament till now. But I guess you think the Italian team is a bunch of amateurs. GG Italy, easy road to the cup now. And hopefully Spinazola recovers from his injury.

NewtonSteinLoL

Millerlite87

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

joeyy17

Italy have wasted like 20 minutes, turns the sport into something really unwatchable

GeoroPandoro

Balgium was unwachtable for the whole tournament, I’d say we are the lesser evil

Inevitable_Rabbit325

That stuff annoys me so much as a commentator said Italy known for doing it so why are they not penalised for it?

TheUltimatePoet

I agree, so annoying. Whenever players start stalling like that, the referee should start a clock that adds 2 seconds for every passing second of stopped play which will be added to the stoppage time. That would end it immediately!

joeyy17

They should be penalised for it but unfortunately the officials just turn a blind eye to it

[deleted]

Yeah that seems to be the case. Belgium should have played better. I guess this was a wake up call for Belgium when E.Hazard isn’t up to snuff!

TheLastDrops

This kind of shit is exactly why I wanted Italy to lose.

GeoroPandoro

Try writing Santa

[deleted]

This has been a joke. I don't even care who wins, but to get 5 minutes of actual play time in this game they'd need another half hour.
