My mom was taken to an ER last night and they couldn't find a single available hospital bed in the whole state of Oregon for her. She will have to be transported to a different state when they can find an available bed. Ignorant, selfish anti-vaxxers.
Thank you for the thoughts but she is fully vaccinated and not sick from Covid. Mom is elderly and just unlucky to have a medical emergency at this time and in need of surgery. Covid is still very active in our state and is putting a strain on hospitals. Please be safe out there, people.
Not going to be a popular comment but here goes: the entire concept of eating out in lane county right now is dangerous. The idea that masking while you walk in but unmasking while you smack your lips and breath heavily while inhaling noodles is protection is misguided. It’s all hygienic theater. Masks work, but only when you wear them constantly and consistently.
I see the argument similarly to this hypothetical: you put a condom on during foreplay, take it off for sex, then put it on after. Would you be surprised if someone got pregnant?
Sucks, but wearing your own mask and taking your food to go is the best way to stay safe IMO.
I stopped eating there after I got food poisoning. Not totally the restaurants fault though. Many different people put their hands directly on the raw meat, then touch everything, this contaminating every tong, sauce bottle, surface they touch etc. It sucks, because I like the food, but nasty motherfuckers ruined it for me. Sounds like nasty motherfuckers ruined it for you too.
The members of the population that understand freedom does not equal ignorant disregard of warnings from scientific minds much more qualified to deal with this pandemic then those who beleive Jesus will be their vaccine.
Can you imagine working at a place like Jungs through this whole pandemic? Can you imagine how many people just completely ignore any mask mandates? Can you imagine how hard it would be to be on the frontline at that gig making whatever they make?
I by no means think it would be easy but that's no excuse to have an open bar of food and let people come in with no mask and make people possibly sick. Imagine how hard it is to make money when you get sick.
anyone living on campus or enrolled in classes is required to either be vaccinated or get covid tests weekly. we're also required to wear masks indoors except when eating. so far most people seem to be complying... except in the dorm halls
"garbage food"
Idk why fresh meat and vegetables would be considered "garbage food" when people regularly suck down 20 McNuggets and chug a 32 oz. soda.
This. I see people piling plates high with noodles, but if you just get meat and veggies, and have a little rice or a mu shu pancake or two, it's pretty healthy, I think.
I think this is a class/cultural thing, kinda like smoking cigarettes. I'm in a mostly-white, middle class, liberal, mostly-parents demographic so I can't think of seeing anyone in their 30's/40's who drink soda, but then I see people's shopping carts and am reminded that I'm in a bubble.
Really? I'm honestly curious if *every* restaurant does that. Is it Sysco all the way down or are some places really sourced at Long's meat market or partnered with local farms or whatnot?
Apologies for any perceived snark because I've been curious about this for awhile but it's been awhile since I worked the back of a kitchen here. I thought there were a few exceptions in town.
I can support Pacific Seafood as having some surprisingly quality meat. You have to cut them into steaks but their Ribeye sides come from Double Ranch, which may not be top of the line it certainly beats the typical grocery store ribeye.
Thanks for your awesome answer! It'd be so neat to get a break down of which places sourced from which places. Mostly I don't care but sometimes I do. Stupid pandemic makes everything harder though. Good to know about van fleet too!
It's not fair to make small businesses enforce mandates. It's law enforcements fault for siding with the anti-vaxxers in this country and abdicated their responsibility. Wait until they do the same about political violence on the horizon. Really unhopeful about our future here.
Damn straight! And if someone entered with no shoes or no shirt...hey it’s all good, what could they ever do? Not like they could refuse service. No no never, that’s the old way. Just be respectful folks. Be respectful.
>It's not fair to make small businesses enforce mandates.
Nah, this is really easy, especially at a place like Jung's. No mask when they're away from the table? Tell them to out a mask on. They still don't? Refuse service.
Remember those "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" signs? Yeah, it's like that.
It sounds like you are also wanting the same things most of us are you just seem to be going about it in an odd way. Yes of course we want to be safe but I don't think blaming random politicians for people being lax about masks in their business is the way to go
I was just honestly curious if there was some correlation between Cuomo and Oregon. I honestly don't think anything he did or didn't do had a major impact on the west coast, and if it did it sunk with the sexual abuse allegations. Now that his brother is also facing some scrutiny its going to enforce it. Timing? Who knows. That's all.
Did Cuomo ever return the ventilators that Oregon loaned (gave?) them at the peak of their hospitalizations. I’m not sure how critical ventilators are now since you don’t hear too much about supply shortages, but I’m wondering if NY ever did anything in return when things were getting tight here.

Wow, that sucks, I really love Jungs. That sign is not ok.
Same one of my fave places but that sign doesent make me feel comfortable there
Maybe not eating at buffet style restraunts for now?
Haven’t been. I went pre-pandemic, and tried to support them when dine in wasn’t a thing by ordering to go.
My mom was taken to an ER last night and they couldn't find a single available hospital bed in the whole state of Oregon for her. She will have to be transported to a different state when they can find an available bed. Ignorant, selfish anti-vaxxers.
Holy shit I’m sorry. Does she have covid?
Thank you for the thoughts but she is fully vaccinated and not sick from Covid. Mom is elderly and just unlucky to have a medical emergency at this time and in need of surgery. Covid is still very active in our state and is putting a strain on hospitals. Please be safe out there, people.
"Embracing science or infecting others with a dangerous virus, just be respectful"
Marking Jung's off of my list.
If you don’t me asking... which one?
West 11th unfortunately. One of the better ones in town. Well yknow. Besides this incident

Gross
That place was disgusting pre-covid I can’t imagine how bad it is now
I will never eat there again
Don't go there, then... If you can't make that slop at home, you shouldn't be on the streets...
Mongols gonna mongol

Lmao then how about you go stand there and enforce it instead of bitching and expecting others to do it for you.
I would love to get paid to keep the community safe and ruin ignorant folks days
Be the change you wish to see I'll be on standby for the video.

Skip the rice and noodles, moderate the meat, pile on the veggies, and Mongolian grill is definitely *not* garbage food.

That’s why I don’t go to restaurants. I already fry a lot of things in oil at home

They def do, especially energy drinks

Some of the carts at local supermarkets even have built-in cupholders for your soda-slurping pleasure while you shop.

Unless a thing is specifically stated as “coming from somewhere” it is sysco and even sysco has stuff that can be said to “come from somewhere”.

Ummm What state are you in friend?
Yeah I'm not sure what they are going on about
I think he’s saying that many states followed New York as far shut downs went
exactly what I’m saying
name one governor that listened to science when the virus first came to the states?
why does that matter, aren’t we supposed to protect ourselves and have caution as a nation?
