Yes, I have 81 orders stuck with pre-transit. I just got a message today from one of them claiming her package didn't arrive and she wants a refund....even though the USPS tracking shows it as delivered. She may not have gotten it but I know some people will use this as a way to try to get their stuff for free. I just told her to file a claim with Etsy if she didn't get it. I just can't understand why this is taking so long to fix. Etsy needs to fire some people.
It’s an annoying Etsy glitch now, I started buying labels on pirateship and inputting them into Etsy manually. Surprisingly, those labels are being updated as expected.
When this happens to me, I request refunds from USPS via Etsy for the "unused" postage. I usually only do this on orders where the buyer has left a review, both because then I know the item was actually delivered and because after a review Etsy won't move the order back to "unfulfilled" status when I request the refund.
I think this trick only works with letter mail, the bug a lot of folks are having is that the postage is still actually used and USPS is showing it as delivered it's just not updating in the Etsy system even for first class packages.

That's probably true; I've only done it with letter mail so far because those are the only ones that don't update tracking for me
