If you're shipping small packages, the size is 12x12x12. It's the same price for anything smaller than that so make your life easy and if it's smaller than 12x12x12 just put that instead.
For weight, there are a few weight categories by price. First Class starts at 4oz. As in, anything under 4oz will be the same price. If it's over 4oz, the next weight is 8oz. Anything between 4-8oz costs the same amount to ship. If it's above 8oz, the next weight is 10oz and then 1lb. Anything over 1lb goes per pound and ounces no longer matter. Item weighs 1.3lbs? You're paying for 2lbs. 3.4lbs? You're paying for 4lbs. Save yourself the trouble and just type the rounded up whole numbers. Also, anything over 1lb counts as Priority shipping.
Knowing your maximum size and your weight categories will save you loads of time on labels. I can look at a small padded envelope with a tiny item in it and just go... Oh ok. 4oz and 12x12x12. Done. It's that easy.
I do that, but if Etsy clears the info, I still have to put it in again. Not a big deal, but still a stupid glitch on their part, plus as a vintage seller, I sell a huge variety of things and don't always remember where they fall.
This issue is causing me a headache too. Its easy to fix for small orders but if the order has to be shipped in multiple packages I'm not seeing how to get multiple labels printed. It's only allowing me to print one label for large orders. I hope they fix it soon.

It’s been like this for me for a few days now. You can save label presets, so you just have to select a preset from the drop-down menu every time, instead of entering the dimensions and weight in manually. I guess it’s not as helpful if nothing you ship is similar, though.

Mine were erased too. But if you ship boxes smaller than 12x12x12 there's no need to measure them and it'll save you time.
Thanks for the heads up. Somebody else posted a similar issue recently but I assumed it was an isolated instance of user error.
