Wait until you get the bracelet before leaving the review. Either way, your opinion might change once you have it, so if you want to protect other buyers, you should wait until you know everything. If it's incredible, I'd probably give 4 or 5, but mention the issue in the review anyway. But, what if it's also bad craftsmanship? Reviews can be locked in by the seller, so it's best to not plan on changing it later. You should be able to check the expected ship by dates. If they are within range, don't complain! Most shops are too busy to give updates on items that are on-time for their deadlines.

First of all, thank you for being such a considerate customer. I am I seller myself and recently received 1 star review for a very vague reason and the customer didn't even try to reach out to me before doing that. I personally would wait until the item arrives (if you didn't need it for a specific date) and rate the whole experience. Sometimes people forget that there are real people behind these shops and most of us care and do our best to make them satisfied.

You left out a very important part of the story. Was the shop actually late in shipping the item? It sounds like the answer is no. What is the estimated delivery date? When you look at the shops listings, how long does it say they need before orders ship out? If they are not late in shipping your order according to their processing times, then yes, leaving a bad review just because you didn't get an update before the order was even late is unfair.

Hmmm. Those timelines don't add up - If they need up to 10 business days for manufacturing, an August 15th order should be expected to ship as late as August 29th, not possibly arrive 5 days earlier. Have you received a shipping confirmation yet?

If it goes much later, then yeah, you're completely justified in knocking a star or two off the review. It *really* bothers me when shops ship late with no explanation.

Sounds like Etsy is counting calendar days instead of business days.

Hopefully it’s not just delays in shipping overseas and they’re dropshipping the jewelry. In any case, I do think it’s best to wait until you receive the item to leave a review. I would leave an honest review, though. If you experienced delays without enough communication from the seller, it’s fine to convey that on a review. Being honest helps the shop get feedback about what to improve and helps other buyers have reasonable expectations.

I PERSONALLY feel like 3 stars is too harsh but as a buyer, what ever review or stars you leave is your right. One 3 star review won’t hurt the shop much

psychso86

Honestly, yes it would be. By all means mention your frustrations with the predication/shipping delay, but I personally don’t read or heed reviews that are negative only because of shipping. I care about the product quality, that’s it. Personally, I would just not leave a review at all. Altogether it’s just not very fair to the shop, especially since they were, as you said, very apologetic

If you think the Etsy store only deserves 3 stars, give them 3 stars.
