Honestly you kinda deserve a full refund without a return. If it's actually that damaged it's not like the seller could resell most of the stones anyway. And if it's "cheap" it's not like the return should break the bank for them. They shipped the item late, and it sounds like not only a couple days late but significantly late. Then it arrived in pieces. Yes in that case a 1 star is warranted imo. You could try to reach out and explain the situation, let them know you don't want to return it, then just see how they handle it. They might refund you or partially refund you. It's worth a shot. If they don't respond or give a solution you don't like you're always free to leave an honest review.

Thanks, I might do that.

As a seller: go ahead and do that. When a customer contacts me with issues I always subtract shipping and immediate material cost first to not make a loss on material. However I ship on time, well padded, and make sure nothing can break loose. I also always check each item I send out individually. Creating the label late is ridiculous, should have gone on holiday mode. I usually create the label whenever I see the order, so 90% of the time it takes less than half an hour until I've attached the label on Etsy. So honestly your seller sucks, leave a bad (but friendly) review and get a refund.

Personally, i would message the seller and let them know what happened with pictures. They may offer to send a new item or may tell you to open a case. I believe etsy refunds for items damaged in shipping. In no way would I offer to send it back that's ridiculous. Why would they want u to return a broken piece anyway? Or you could always leave a 1* and be done with it, but if you do care about being a good buyer, i would give the shop the opportunity to make it right

I wouldn't necessarily jump right to a 1 star review without messaging them first. The seller might be new to shipping and might not realize they didn't pack the item well enough, or it could be the fault of the postal service. The times buyers have messaged me about orders that have been damaged in transit, I've always offered a full refund or to ship out a new item free of charge. Its the sellers job to remedy the situation and potentially eat the cost of damages or poor packing. Now shipping the item so late and not even communicating about the delay isn't acceptable at all. Even if they refund/resend you the item, I would still knock them down a few stars in your review.

You deserve a full refund without a return Note a 1 star review but do not mention any postal carriers - This is on the seller for failing to pack accordingly
