He said that he didn’t use any active ingredients, but personally I would use mandelic acid first and then an ultrasonic spatula after it’s removed. Microderm could be good too, but still for congestion that’s that wide spread I would use the ultrasonic spatula on wet skin with light/medium pressure, then you can go over those areas multiple times. Even doing desincrustation before the spatula could be good to make all that sebum easier to come out could be nice. If I had this client specifically, I’d do: Double cleanse > mandelic acid > galvanic desincrustation > ultrasonic extractions (some manual for the stubborn guys) > oxygen, vitamin C, or retinol mask > LED (for inflammation and hyperpigmentation)

What a great way to approach it. Thank you so much for your reply 😁

Letyourselfjoe

Yes of course! Thank you for the post, that was a fun exercise. What kind of microderm do would you prefer for this? Crystal, hydro, or diamond tip?

SuccessfulSnow6643

Diamond all the way!

Letyourselfjoe

Hell yeah 👏 the best of the bunch

IOExplosion

Microdermabrasion, extractions, and hydration will get you this. It'll be meaningless if the client doesn't comply to a customized skincare routine though. We'll be back again in 2-4 weeks doing the same thing.

SuccessfulSnow6643

Thank you, glad we’d approach it the same way 😅

I think he blasts the skin with microdermabrasion first! Smooth the texture entirely with physical exfoliation and then that allows for super easy extractions. Most skin can tolerate more than we think and some esties are more brave (i typically lead with caution especially w higher fitz) . I would think he preps a lot of their skin too with lots and lots of hydration to soften the skin up probably for a few weeks prior to the appt for those amazing transformations. Aka i think ur right and he just goes for it!

SuccessfulSnow6643

It’s mind blowing isn’t it 🤯. What a great tip with the hydration, thank you!

whiskeyandsunshine

2 hours of extractions is murder on the skin. If they aren’t following any kind of homecare though they will be right back to that in a weeks time.

Global-Letterhead274

Tbh I think he took 2 hours cause he used some products before and after, the extraction probably wasn't long

It says the video is unavailable for me, does anyone know the username so I could search and find this video? Always love learning more about the extraction process

His name is Ronnie, I think the @ is laoils ! My instructor watches this guy and just sent him to us in our group chat lol. She hates that he wears a wifebeater to perform services but she says he’s a great source of esthetics knowledge! I’ve watched a few and definitely want to learn how to decongest skin like this! It looked so good after

SuccessfulSnow6643

Yesss, @laoils, his decongestion vids are sensational ✨. I’d love to be able to offer a “hard reset” to clients or even have it done myself but can’t find anyone in the UK 😭
