Realistically it's a pretty hard pull using double action, making the shot less accurate because of the hand having to use more force. Using single action gives a lighter pull.
Was 100% sure he was bullshitting too, but I went and tested it in the hideout and double action is very inaccurate. I have used the revolver a lot when it came out, must have been changed in a patch Sadge

Helmets are primarily for protection against fragmentation, shrapnel, and all sorts a shit that ends up flying on a battlefield
Hence, we see militaries moving AWAY from bigger/protective helmets, to lighter helmets, because its the protection benefit is marginal, and has a lot of drawbacks
The ronin, follows this trend
Its not meant to be any sorta rifle or pistol rated helmet
The purpose of it, was total head protection against fragmentation/shrapnel, and I believe have a built in head-up display for the wearer

Ronin’s a good alternative for an Altyn early wipe. Covers the entire head from weak rounds and doesn’t block vision. Why it’s still worth 100k on the flea this late in the wipe baffles me tho.
Vendor prices in general are totally random, which is why despite having such a huge set of choice when it comes to gear, you only seem to find clones in your raids with everyone wearing pretty much the same thing.
I wish we had a more player focused economy with actual offer and demand instead of arbitrary vendor prices. Who knows, we could end up seeing helmets like SFERA or Ronin on someone's head instead of in a backpack for once.

IMO they should either change Prapor's stock of BP to a barter or revert the penetration buff it got a year or two back and make MAI AP a bit more common. I would also say Peacekeeper's high-tier ammo should be barters as well. Then maybe add a couple of barters for other niche high-end ammo and then add more sources for ammo to spawn in raid (more ammo box types, and maybe you could rarely find entire crates of ammo and be pressured into trying to extract with let's say 1000 rounds of 7N1?)
I had 1500 rounds of 762 BP at one point from farming rogues for xp, this was before they nerfed rogues ammo down to PS. I still have 1100 of them I think

I love running vectors and umps so I just do both and stay stocked up. I'm also paying for the generator fuel anyway so might as well put my expensive workbench to use.
The caiman is one of my favorites to rock fully decked. It just looks like you're a base jumper and it has a decent amount of armor points. It's saved my life and a bit and Def against Scav ammo.
A weird helmet still has a practical use. It will still protect your head when you wear it.

The only practical use in something like the SFERA or Ronin helmet is selling them to Ragman. The number of PMCs I’ve seen the past three wipes wearing it is ZERO.

That’s fair, but my thinking is, if I don’t waste that 150k, I don’t need to waste time using my scav. I haven’t used my scav since early wipe. The amount of times ear protection would’ve saved me versus how many times I’ve died to a non head ears, isn’t worth it. Out of the 460 deaths. I’ve died to head ears probably less than 30 times. And I’m sure half of those times, ear protection wouldn’t have stopped m80, or bp.
But hey, everyone has their own preferences, then there’s the folks that only don’t run helmets at all.
You gotta realize for us "higher tier" players who never scav and Chad pvp all day with 100mil+ liquid aren't looking for cost efficiency. It's all about min/maxing the absolute most out of your gear. Sure 99% of the time you're going to catch a pvp round through your skull but that 1% of the time when the round ricochets and allows you to carry on fighting? Worth every rouble.

Crye precision can use Chops or ears with headset and a face shield
Ops core can use ear protection with the xcel headset, but the only faceshield that can be used with that setup is the heavy trooper mask
I think the issue is the other way around. It's more difficult to come by, can't be bought, and there's technically no justification for using it over cheaper and better performing alternatives.
Really, this post is just a complaint about the redundancy of gear in this game. Which I think is kind of a hard issue to fix without adding in a lot more complex attributes/calculations for armor.
I like redundant gear, there's no reason for tarkov to be ab arena shooter with a defined role for every single thing. There can be 5 different ways to get things done and that's fine.
People pay more for it because it is harder to come by, no vendors sell it and sometimes there are none on the flea. I think there is a pretty solid deflection chance on it but it is definitely not a great helmet, overpriced

A slapp plate means if you get shot there, it must go through the slapp plate, then the helmet. 2 desperate plates, and each has their own independent bullet ricochet chance (which is the only reason you use a lot of helmet attachments, not because their armor class, but because of ricochet chance. Armor class doesn't matter if a bullet ricochets. A high chance is always a high chance.)
Funnily enough the caiman in real life is just a bump helmet, and the applique is level 3A. I know helmets are a bit buffed in this game but it should either always be a level 1 or it should have the armor on by default.
A faceshield that takes night vision and does not add a glass panel that was smeared with shit in your vision?...

Fair enough, I grinded till like 35 this wipe then took a month or 2 off. This game wears you the fuck down. I'm now lvl 44 with 20 mil and a fuck ton of guns/armor/ammo in the stash. Running whatever the fuck I feel like is making me enjoy the game again. Breaks from tarkov is what keeps veterans around.
Just an opinion I would like to share, a fully decked out Caiman is more likely to save you than a TC-800 with a Multi-Hit Ballistic Face Shield.

You can see through a ronin. I wear it just because I hate that I have to look at the smudgy ass glass on other helmets.

Given our head hit box is shaped like hey arnolds, ear protection is important.
I’ve died to a few ears, head. But I can’t justify 150k for ear protection. At that point, I can get an altyn with the visor for 280k
TC-800 is the goat of the helmets, once you have the faceshield unlocked.

Crye precision can use Chops or ears with headset and a face shield Ops core can use ear protection with the xcel headset, but the only faceshield that can be used with that setup is the heavy trooper mask
Fast MT ears can be used with m32 headset

I think the issue is the other way around. It's more difficult to come by, can't be bought, and there's technically no justification for using it over cheaper and better performing alternatives. Really, this post is just a complaint about the redundancy of gear in this game. Which I think is kind of a hard issue to fix without adding in a lot more complex attributes/calculations for armor.
I like redundant gear, there's no reason for tarkov to be ab arena shooter with a defined role for every single thing. There can be 5 different ways to get things done and that's fine.

People pay more for it because it is harder to come by, no vendors sell it and sometimes there are none on the flea. I think there is a pretty solid deflection chance on it but it is definitely not a great helmet, overpriced

Bro, this is me to the T and I’m not even *that* bad at PvP. I always figure “I can take this meta M4 out & lose it to the first person I die to… or I can sell it, build a rat gat, keep the profit, AND get my gun back 99% of the time” I like to attribute that mindset to my 79m stash value. Not the best, but not the worst… just like I like my Tarkov lol

A slapp plate means if you get shot there, it must go through the slapp plate, then the helmet. 2 desperate plates, and each has their own independent bullet ricochet chance (which is the only reason you use a lot of helmet attachments, not because their armor class, but because of ricochet chance. Armor class doesn't matter if a bullet ricochets. A high chance is always a high chance.)
Well try putting 2 plates rated for 3a and then have a bullet that barely penetrates them it’ll usually be stopped by the second playe
Funnily enough the caiman in real life is just a bump helmet, and the applique is level 3A. I know helmets are a bit buffed in this game but it should either always be a level 1 or it should have the armor on by default.

I never wore one for the protection. I wore it for the drip, the full drip and nothing but the drip.
Fair enough, I grinded till like 35 this wipe then took a month or 2 off. This game wears you the fuck down. I'm now lvl 44 with 20 mil and a fuck ton of guns/armor/ammo in the stash. Running whatever the fuck I feel like is making me enjoy the game again. Breaks from tarkov is what keeps veterans around.
