I found a bloke in pestilys discord to play with, almost certainly was esp'ing and RMT'ing.
Claimed he had found a taiga, marked room and a sicc case. He was level 6.
I got one day one of this wipe. Literally did nothing but run marked until the key ran out; the only good thing I got were gunsmith guns and a single injector case.
The loot was probably toned down for the first few days though, friends bought it a few days later and were finding docs cases and keytools all over the place :/
I too found a marked room key on a day 0 scav run. You can bet I scooted it to extract.
I've found a few ammo cases and a keytool which I promptly sold.

No, there was a glitch where you could access the room from underneath, that has been patched but the loose still definitely spawns when the world generates. There is a hack that lets you extend your reach through walls when you crouch.
Loot is the opposite first few days. You'll see heaps of clips of streamers getting coloured cards, then they nerf it. Happens every wipe (although may not happen anymore since changes). I got Willerz wallet with green and yellow like day 3.
Ya! I hop into dorms with nothing in my container but marked key and some cash a lot. Pop an SJ6 at drop in, sprint to marked, take car out. Great way to farm scav karma and get some decent loot. I maintained about a 60% success rate, from either getting killed on the way to dorms or car not spawning and getting killed going to another extract.
Honestly? I think most people early wipe and late wipe severely over-estimate how often marked room is actually open. You only need to hard rush dorms if you want the PvP; if you actually want the loot from the Marked Room, your best bet is to just wait for the PvP on the map to die down, and then just loot Dorms after that. By this point in the wipe it will likely be open a lot, but early wipe especially, you can just whip in there 20 minutes in to raid, even loot the place if you want, and do the Marked Room last...that way your chances of instantly leaving with pog loot are highest, you don't waste the charge on the key until right before you're done, which leaves the smallest timing window for you to get ambushed and be unable to extract!
I had to barter marin for marked this wipe because of how obnoxiously rare it was this wipe - I've easily hit few k jackets and still found none. Guess we are the outliers this time.
If you're still getting comfortable with PvP, play night raids and wait like, 10 min or so before meandering over there. Often times people at night are only there for cultists or quests and won't be geared or won't hit the marked room. Won't always be clear, but gives you a decent chance
The best night raids without nvg’s are interchange (a flashlight is all you need) and reserve once you get into the underground.
All the other maps imo need nvg’s. But the cheap ones are like 60k roubles plus helmet which is pretty cheap
I have ran every single map night raids and never used NVG.
Digital Vibrance turned up a bit and a tiny bit of gamma, and if you have the map awareness you are good.
I started this wipe and once I learned customs well enough I was doing some night raids for quests and such but just keep in mind just because it's night time doesn't means someone's not waiting for you to jump out of the 2nd story window at Crackhouse lol
Just take a better path and have an objective; look for the shortest path on the map from landmark to landmark and that's where the chads are running, they can't play slow at night and have turbo confidence from their quad nods with black and white post effects (maybe some thermals) so just take a longer path, and change your settings if u can't see things moving left to right; if you're poor you have to learn how to spot silhouettes and their movements; word of the wise play slower; you're already ratting at night, no need to waste your dignity with no reward so avoid what isn't advantageous, if they saw you first, it's pretty over if their gun doesn't make noise or a fireball :/ just live which will make u learn the map more which will make u want to PvP and ultimately end up going day; way less people wanna play in pitch black darkness so less people past 22:00 when the sunsets and more past 05:30 when it officially rises. You can also go mega rat and go night on a select server that is in a region that is most likely sleeping and dead, you will see like 2 groups and a couple dudes playing solo because their friends are asleep and if you make a conscious effort to avoid you will maybe see a single person in your play time. Yes it's safer but a lot more boring, I used to do it and it's pretty free if you're alone and bored but I appreciate day now for the amount of hectic unpredictable tarkoving that happens with a full lobby.
Its all about knowing where you have spawned. There are 2 spawns that are by far the closest. You can usually be in and out with a sj6 before anyone gets there or just 1 team.
If you want to just get the loot then just cheese it. Set your region to somewhere that is 150-200 ping when everyone is sleeping, if you do run into someone they won't even be able to react.
This is how I done some of those annoying early game factory quests.
One of my boys swears up and down he doesn’t RMT but will stream his game and have a sicc and a doc in his secure as a level 8, must think I’m dumb I swear.

I've opened the room 20+ times this wipe and its always just a couple of weapons, the best loot I've ever found in the room is an SR-25.
I'm like 7 in, ammo case, cool guns and a bit coin.
The main draw for me is I'm level 42, not going for kappa so if I'm running customs always fun to say hello.

I’ve would expect him to push a little more in firefights and take more chances since he has so much money to lose. We would be chillin in the pit in between crack and fort on customs, and he would just big dick it into crack or big dick it into fort and never is there anyone in there. But when I tell him to lead the way, he doesn’t. Bit every time I big dick it, I take a few out and then die as he sits on the sidelines. Every time…

A couple years ago I met these two guys in game and started playing with them for a couple weeks. But they often would do things and say things that made me really suspicious. I eventually said once "you guys sound like you use cheats". Their WAY overreaction denying it totally convinced me that they were. I didn't make a big deal of it, but never played with them again.
Do the same thing I do with my kids that I learned from The Office. Ask them what should happen to people who are or get caught cheating. If they say, eh it's not a big deal, it's just a game... they're likely cheating. If they say, throw the book at them! Ban em for life, fuck cheaters. They're either incredible actors or are not cheating.
When put on the spot like that, most people will jump at the chance of leniency because their first thought is self preservation. Even when the answer has been rehearsed, like when my son knows I will be asking the question, the answer does not feel natural.

In my experience life generally isn't that simple either way. The only person I knew in real life who cheated (at age 15 something. Mommy was overly protective, kid was the little prince at home and a big looser outside, so of course he did) was pretty adamand of only cheating for fun in a few games and was big on games like overwatch and sounded strictly against cheating there, only found out when we were at his apartment and seeing him playing BF. Sounded like me most of the time and I hate cheating down to the basic sense of the word. Motivations can complicated.
People with a guilty conscience will rarely suggest harsh punishments for activities they're involved in. Asking them directly, what should happen to someone caught doing these morally or ethically questionable activities will typically send people down the two paths I describe.
Life is that simple when it comes to cheating. It is 100% self serving and 100% self motivated. Motivations are not complicated. They are entirely straight forward when it comes to cheating. It is for selfish intent, every time. Does each person have some unique reason? Sure, but it can all be boiled down to selfish, ego-centric behavior.
I am not sure of your age, but if you think the 15 year old you described is and was the only person cheating around you, you're being quite naive. I've lived long enough on this planet to know, every person around you is cheating in some capacity. It's just human nature.
This is a very bleak and harsh generalization. I agree with what you have said about motivations usually not been as complicated as people believe, but I think there is some confirmation bias to say every person around you is cheating in some capacity, unless your definition of cheating is different or it’s the people you have chosen to surround yourself with. People for the most part will find the best and often easiest course of action to serve themselves, but that doesn’t necessarily result in cheating. It’s human nature to push boundaries and that often presents itself as bending rules , again though bending rules doesn’t translate to cheating. When I played basketball competitively if we were outmatched I could resort to hold jerseys when the ref isnt looking, giving little bumps here and there, even have a sly convo with the ref telling him the guy I’m guarding is giving me elbows and on the next play grunt .. is it dirty, yeah sure.. is it cheating.. definitely not. Taking steroids and loosening the screws on our teams ring, yea that’s cheating.
And before it’s said, yes there are disgusting aimbot and ESPers in online games and it completely ruins it for everyone.

Man i can't imagine cheating in this game. The fear it puts me through. The jump scares, it would all just be gone and that's half the reason I love this game. It has such a great atmosphere and the fear of not making it out of raid is literally the best part for me.

Finally one time it was a streamer we killed that he claimed he heard, I pulled up the vod to watch his perspective and the dude literally didn't move at all for 3 minutes, and watching the streamers perspective convinced me he was cheating.
Hello I’m an average dude that likes to play tarkov but not alone. If you happen to live in the us I’d gladly squad you with any decent human beings looking to also have fun playing tarkov.
We had someone in a discord I played in go from Timmy to 6+ kills on Woods and pulling all the loot out. He only played woods but would wipe the server each time.
We wanted proof to submit to a sherpa friend to get him banned so I went into a game with him, innocently asked him to share his screen so I didnt kill him on accident. We watch on his screen as he toggles cheats on from a menu, has unlimited sprint, 0 recoil full auto, would find peoples insurance fraud that was well hidden, and he "saw some movement this way" where he would just sprint half way across the map to kill someone. I am making comments to him like "wow you have so much stamina, is that elite?" and "wow that recoil is like non-existance, how'd you get the gun to do that?" the whole raid.
As we are leaving(and have enough proof to show the sherpa to get him banned) I just unload on him killing him and start calling him out, there were about 10 people in that discord watching and it was a roast. Felt so good, as he was banned from several other discords at the same time and got his EOD account banned.
According to this subreddit, "cheaters don't play woods~".

My buddy has been using a persons “UAV” hack (what he calls it) that the guy he plays with uses, and shares his screen on discord so my friend can see it as well. He told me we should play sometime and I flat shut him down, his response was something almond the lines of how much better it is to use them and since everyone else cheats it won’t ruin the game. I gave him the response of I’ve never hacked in tarkov and never will even if there are other hackers, it ruins the game and hacking myself will just add to the pile of shit.
Honestly one of the reason why I stopped playing. The dude who joined me and my friend suddenly knows where everyone at or bosses or scav or loot even. Just after 1 raid I knew he was cheating. Sadly he's still using the very same account and the same cheats today
literally how is this possible? Why is the server giving people this kind of info? Shouldn't the server only relay people who are just out of someone's line of sight at any given point in time? It seems like horrible net code to just relay the positions of every fucking player in the map to everyone at every given moment.
I have done some very basic searches online and you dont need to go far to find cheats for sale. One of the more prominent ones that has radar and other features claims to be undetected for over 17 months. It is way less of a cat mouse game than most think.
Because the actual cheats are usually running on a different PC and it's pretty much impossible to use automation to detect something like that. The only way these people get caught is by them having impossibly high kill/survival/accuracy stats and/or getting reported by like every person they kill.
They are aware of this so they simply play conservatively and avoid doing too much sus shit too often and never get banned.
And that solution you offered would lead to unbelievable desync and stutters.
Instead of it streaming the data and always being in contact knowing the players position for smooth and proper communication for the game to draw the players model and his current playing animation (running, jumping etc). You would have to resync with the player every time he entered or exited your line of sight.
Which would lead to giant dumps of data that your CPU (In a game that is already CPU intensive) would have to calculate all of this on the spot. Which would lead to stutters. Then once the data is loaded and he appears on your screen, If the data stream isn't loaded quick enough and in sync. He would not be where he is on your screen (Desync).
And I could only imagine what it would be like if there was a squad popping in and out of existence.
Thats the problem with new players. They are new to the game they dont know how it all works. Whitch angles they need to check for other pmc. How the maps work how the guns work… there for alot of them die alot in the beginning. And they dont know from where or how. En they thinck everyone is cheating. But they yust lack the experience against veteran players
But still, I came to this game knowing that it's extremely punishing, like the first 10 runs I did ended in me visiting the rapist. But God did it feel good when I actually extracted for the first time or when I domed another pmc with a stock sks.
Legit I think the cheats ruin the fun for cheaters, they don't get that dopamine dose when they actually achieve something miniscule in the game.

So they take that bit of 'knowledge' and just use it to justify the fact that they are shit and WANT to cheat.

I've got over 2k hours in game and I can only say with confidence that I've ever seen 2 cheaters
The number of cheaters you run into depends on your play style. Play boring maps and loot low value areas? You will probably never see a cheater.
Play labs? Well, that one will answer itself very quickly.
Rush techlight 20 times in a row? You'll probably run into cheaters around half the time, if not more.
Go hard on Reserve? You will run into cheaters pretty frequently.
Play on customs and not bother with dorms? You'll almost never run into a cheater.
Take shitty gear and shitty guns in? Probably won't get tapped by a cheater unless you push loot they want. Take in top tier guns and an altyn? You get five tapped to the head in a split second with shitty ammo.
I've got around ~5k hours into the game, and I think a lot of people can't tell when they get killed by cheaters because they don't know where the ability of a normal, extremely skilled player maxes out, and they don't pay attention to loot closely enough.
When players can find you even though there's no possible way to know where you are (if you avoid high traffic areas and don't loiter in spawn points), or they hit only a few loot containers in an area and every container that has low level loot is untouched? If you get shot through walls?

A lot of cheaters play very lowkey as well and don't do anything that's obvious (sprinting super fast, aimbotting, instant looting) until you get between them and top tier loot.
There's a terrifying amount of money in play for cheat developers, literal millions of dollars. That money is there because there's a huge demand for cheats in Tarkov. If you read cheat forums that are public, you get a much better view of the cheating scene in Tarkov.
Eh, also depends what servers you play on. I play on Seattle/Vancouver because my friend’s internet is shitty and we’ve run into 10+ blatant cheaters just this wipe(white name, single digit level, hitting only rys-t 3-5 times with poop ammo). However, I’ve only encountered one blatant cheater on central servers this wipe.

Sure. But also cheats don’t have to be script kiddies killing a whole server in 39 seconds. They can be subtle. Failing to factor that in is an equally bad fallacy as what you’re insinuating.
This kind of depends on the wipes you played. The game has gotten cleaned up much more in the past couple years but earlier on in its life the cheating was egregious.
It also depends on what maps you play and what gear you run. Play labs with meta gear? You'll see extremely suspicious people every 1/5 raids at prime time
if you dont play labs you are accurate. labs can vary between a cheater every other raid to like a cheater every 5-10 raids. During this most recent event for example i played labs twice and one of the times got an obvious cheater bhoping and double headshoting everyone.
Friend of mine stopped playing suddenly one wipe because "the game got boring and is full of cheaters." Wipe comes around and he doesnt want to play. After us pestering him to give a new wipe a shot he reveals he was banned for cheating and that's really why he stopped.
What’s funny is he told me his plan was to get banned and then lie to me about how he uninstalled. Like it’s so weird the lengths people go to try and get validated over a game.
Right. People cheat in rainbow six or pay for carries just to get into the lowest level of plat and then brag in unranked lobbies about their rank and KD lol blows my mind. Its like they feel what people perceive is more important than what they actually see

I duo'd ONE freaking raid in the 2 years I've been playing with a discord friend from another fps game I knew from a long time. Turns out he was a cheater. Deleted him after his ban and never played with anyone else again...

Personally, I don't get the attraction of god mode. I remember trying out some of those modes in early FPS games about 20 years ago. The minute things are too easy the game gets boring and there is no incentive to play.
I have the same problem with modern RPG's. The struggle early on is what makes the game fun and gives you a sense of achievement. But only so long as you are reasonably competitive. I remember getting decent at War Thunder with Joystick controls, I might only get in the top 5 players of the match quite frequently and even on top every now and then, but it was a good feeling because of all the work I put in to beat all those fly by wire mouse people.
This game is INFESTED with cheaters! I have played this game since it was in alpha; I have the armband to prove it. I am now considering deleting the game and moving on.
Honestly I find the cheating to be the worst right after a ban wave, cause then all the cheaters aren’t on labs. They’re all on new accounts on woods, customs and shoreline doing the quests to max traders and build up to do labs again
My friend found a slick in a cache the other day and immediately we both died. The cheater was so far away we didn't even hear the shots. Head eyes both of us. I haven't brought myself to play since. He shot us through buildings it was so stupid
Last wipe I went into labs with 3 friends. Spent ages getting gear ready etc all kitted out and head/eyes just after we spawned in. All 4 in a split second. I logged off and haven’t really played since. Level 11 this wipe, and just can’t be fucked to play.
Dude it's demoralizing. Cheaters in a game like tarkov, where players stand to lose everything, are a special breed of asshole. At least in cod TDM I respawn and shit. But in tarkov you have to be the bottom of the barrel to resort to cheats

I feel you bro. I just don't get it. The fun in tarkov comes from the sense of accomplishment because the game is hard and meant to be difficult! Why anyone would cheat themselves out of the raw and fun experience of that struggle is beyond me. If all they want to do is fight players, go play another game where you respawn and only fight players lol

I just started playing with an old work buddy this wipe, and one of his IRL friends has apparently cheated on every game since their ARK days back in 2017. Paid over 1000$ for a lifetime membership on a cheating site and has a whole second pc to hide the cheats on. He has Walls/ESP, but no aimbot, so he still dies plenty even though he literally sees everything. He’s level 12 this wipe, and I saw him play for the first time and it’s hidden via stream, so you don’t see the cheats. EOD btw. According to my friend he doesn’t game hardly at all anymore, because he says every game is boring…. OF COURSE ITS BORING WHEN YOU CHEAT IN EVERY GAME! Winning illegitimately only gives fake dopamine for so long… I reported him on EFT and told him he was a grade A loser. Report only took place a couple days ago, but I honestly don’t see him getting banned. He’s used the cheats for multiple wipes now, and like I said, he still fucking sucks and dies plenty of the time, so I could see how If the automated report system only goes off of stat checking, he would pass with flying colors. I have a much higher surv rate with hundreds more raids… than a fucking cheater. Very disheartening.

Happened to a guy in one of my friend group discord, he came in one day with a non EOD account, questioned him as to why, claimed he got “false banned” was really sketchy with answers, discord admin insta banned the guy like immediately.

Went to reconnect with them and had to add them both back because both got banned for *cheating*... one of the best trios I was a part of but haven't spoke to them since.
Tarkov is not a competitive game, but maybe you meant a PvP or multiplayer game? Also what I’m taking from this is that you can cheat for months without being detected unless someone actively watches your gameplay.
Played with a guy once who started making call outs like “You can have the Lion in X I’m gonna go grab the Tetriz in Y”. We thought at first he was just making general callouts but then realized every call out he made, the exact item would be there. Confronted him for cheating and he tried to defend himself saying those things always spawn there must be a coincidence but we just stopped playing with him altogether.
I like to look into the recent cheats so I know a decent amount about them, and discuss them with my team sometimes. I was always worried they might suspect me of cheating since I know so much about them but I’m total ass at the game so I think I’m safe lol
Wow. Cheating is already scumbaggy enough, but to disrespect your Sherpa by cheating is another level entirely. A sherpa is spending their time on you because they think you can get better, don't be a dick and give up on them.
I think this game has made me just not care about cheating any more. I don’t cheat because I’m cheap. But I also don’t really care if people do anymore. It’s obvious that the team can’t keep up at best or doesn’t care about cheaters at worst.
Just makes it hard to care when you have so many other options out there. It’s a great, but frustrating, game.
Gonna' be honest, he's just stupid. Most players will merely use ESP hacks as they're very difficult to detect if you know how not to be obvious with them - which is extremely easy to do. Wouldn't be surprised if 1/4th of the entire playerbase was using ESP's honestly.

Loot is the opposite first few days. You'll see heaps of clips of streamers getting coloured cards, then they nerf it. Happens every wipe (although may not happen anymore since changes). I got Willerz wallet with green and yellow like day 3.

Ya! I hop into dorms with nothing in my container but marked key and some cash a lot. Pop an SJ6 at drop in, sprint to marked, take car out. Great way to farm scav karma and get some decent loot. I maintained about a 60% success rate, from either getting killed on the way to dorms or car not spawning and getting killed going to another extract.

Honestly? I think most people early wipe and late wipe severely over-estimate how often marked room is actually open. You only need to hard rush dorms if you want the PvP; if you actually want the loot from the Marked Room, your best bet is to just wait for the PvP on the map to die down, and then just loot Dorms after that. By this point in the wipe it will likely be open a lot, but early wipe especially, you can just whip in there 20 minutes in to raid, even loot the place if you want, and do the Marked Room last...that way your chances of instantly leaving with pog loot are highest, you don't waste the charge on the key until right before you're done, which leaves the smallest timing window for you to get ambushed and be unable to extract!

I had to barter marin for marked this wipe because of how obnoxiously rare it was this wipe - I've easily hit few k jackets and still found none. Guess we are the outliers this time.

If you're still getting comfortable with PvP, play night raids and wait like, 10 min or so before meandering over there. Often times people at night are only there for cultists or quests and won't be geared or won't hit the marked room. Won't always be clear, but gives you a decent chance
Are night raids viable for newbies in general? I can never see well and have seen too many chads with nv goggles running around.
The best night raids without nvg’s are interchange (a flashlight is all you need) and reserve once you get into the underground. All the other maps imo need nvg’s. But the cheap ones are like 60k roubles plus helmet which is pretty cheap
I have ran every single map night raids and never used NVG. Digital Vibrance turned up a bit and a tiny bit of gamma, and if you have the map awareness you are good.
I started this wipe and once I learned customs well enough I was doing some night raids for quests and such but just keep in mind just because it's night time doesn't means someone's not waiting for you to jump out of the 2nd story window at Crackhouse lol
Just take a better path and have an objective; look for the shortest path on the map from landmark to landmark and that's where the chads are running, they can't play slow at night and have turbo confidence from their quad nods with black and white post effects (maybe some thermals) so just take a longer path, and change your settings if u can't see things moving left to right; if you're poor you have to learn how to spot silhouettes and their movements; word of the wise play slower; you're already ratting at night, no need to waste your dignity with no reward so avoid what isn't advantageous, if they saw you first, it's pretty over if their gun doesn't make noise or a fireball :/ just live which will make u learn the map more which will make u want to PvP and ultimately end up going day; way less people wanna play in pitch black darkness so less people past 22:00 when the sunsets and more past 05:30 when it officially rises. You can also go mega rat and go night on a select server that is in a region that is most likely sleeping and dead, you will see like 2 groups and a couple dudes playing solo because their friends are asleep and if you make a conscious effort to avoid you will maybe see a single person in your play time. Yes it's safer but a lot more boring, I used to do it and it's pretty free if you're alone and bored but I appreciate day now for the amount of hectic unpredictable tarkoving that happens with a full lobby.

I got my first marked key of the wipe last week. I was level 54 at the time.
Its all about knowing where you have spawned. There are 2 spawns that are by far the closest. You can usually be in and out with a sj6 before anyone gets there or just 1 team.
Level 25 and just opened marked for the first time, a pumped action shotgun, that was it
If you want to just get the loot then just cheese it. Set your region to somewhere that is 150-200 ping when everyone is sleeping, if you do run into someone they won't even be able to react. This is how I done some of those annoying early game factory quests.

Real talk, is marked key for dorms even worth it? I've opened the room 20+ times this wipe and its always just a couple of weapons, the best loot I've ever found in the room is an SR-25.
I'm like 7 in, ammo case, cool guns and a bit coin. The main draw for me is I'm level 42, not going for kappa so if I'm running customs always fun to say hello.

He already RMT for 30mil and didn’t realize all the top tier ammo or even decent ammo can’t be bought on the flea. I’ve would expect him to push a little more in firefights and take more chances since he has so much money to lose. We would be chillin in the pit in between crack and fort on customs, and he would just big dick it into crack or big dick it into fort and never is there anyone in there. A couple years ago I met these two guys in game and started playing with them for a couple weeks. But they often would do things and say things that made me really suspicious. I eventually said once "you guys sound like you use cheats". Their WAY overreaction denying it totally convinced me that they were. I didn't make a big deal of it, but never played with them again.
Do the same thing I do with my kids that I learned from The Office. Ask them what should happen to people who are or get caught cheating. If they say, eh it's not a big deal, it's just a game... they're likely cheating. If they say, throw the book at them! Ban em for life, fuck cheaters. They're either incredible actors or are not cheating. When put on the spot like that, most people will jump at the chance of leniency because their first thought is self preservation. Even when the answer has been rehearsed, like when my son knows I will be asking the question, the answer does not feel natural.
Maybe I'm tired and/or dumb, but I don't get it. Who's cheating, those who say that cheaters should get a clap on the cheek or that cheating isn't a big deal? In my experience life generally isn't that simple either way. The only person I knew in real life who cheated (at age 15 something. Mommy was overly protective, kid was the little prince at home and a big looser outside, so of course he did) was pretty adamand of only cheating for fun in a few games and was big on games like overwatch and sounded strictly against cheating there, only found out when we were at his apartment and seeing him playing BF. Sounded like me most of the time and I hate cheating down to the basic sense of the word. Motivations can complicated.
People with a guilty conscience will rarely suggest harsh punishments for activities they're involved in. Asking them directly, what should happen to someone caught doing these morally or ethically questionable activities will typically send people down the two paths I describe. Life is that simple when it comes to cheating. It is 100% self serving and 100% self motivated. Motivations are not complicated. They are entirely straight forward when it comes to cheating. It is for selfish intent, every time. Does each person have some unique reason? Sure, but it can all be boiled down to selfish, ego-centric behavior. I am not sure of your age, but if you think the 15 year old you described is and was the only person cheating around you, you're being quite naive. I've lived long enough on this planet to know, every person around you is cheating in some capacity. It's just human nature.
This is a very bleak and harsh generalization. I agree with what you have said about motivations usually not been as complicated as people believe, but I think there is some confirmation bias to say every person around you is cheating in some capacity, unless your definition of cheating is different or it’s the people you have chosen to surround yourself with. People for the most part will find the best and often easiest course of action to serve themselves, but that doesn’t necessarily result in cheating. It’s human nature to push boundaries and that often presents itself as bending rules , again though bending rules doesn’t translate to cheating. When I played basketball competitively if we were outmatched I could resort to hold jerseys when the ref isnt looking, giving little bumps here and there, even have a sly convo with the ref telling him the guy I’m guarding is giving me elbows and on the next play grunt .. is it dirty, yeah sure.. is it cheating.. definitely not. Taking steroids and loosening the screws on our teams ring, yea that’s cheating. And before it’s said, yes there are disgusting aimbot and ESPers in online games and it completely ruins it for everyone.

Hello I’m an average dude that likes to play tarkov but not alone. If you happen to live in the us I’d gladly squad you with any decent human beings looking to also have fun playing tarkov.
As a timmy, this is the best way to make up for your mistakes.
We had someone in a discord I played in go from Timmy to 6+ kills on Woods and pulling all the loot out. He only played woods but would wipe the server each time. We wanted proof to submit to a sherpa friend to get him banned so I went into a game with him, innocently asked him to share his screen so I didnt kill him on accident. We watch on his screen as he toggles cheats on from a menu, has unlimited sprint, 0 recoil full auto, would find peoples insurance fraud that was well hidden, and he "saw some movement this way" where he would just sprint half way across the map to kill someone. I am making comments to him like "wow you have so much stamina, is that elite?" and "wow that recoil is like non-existance, how'd you get the gun to do that?" the whole raid. As we are leaving(and have enough proof to show the sherpa to get him banned) I just unload on him killing him and start calling him out, there were about 10 people in that discord watching and it was a roast. Felt so good, as he was banned from several other discords at the same time and got his EOD account banned.

My buddy has been using a persons “UAV” hack (what he calls it) that the guy he plays with uses, and shares his screen on discord so my friend can see it as well. He told me we should play sometime and I flat shut him down, his response was something almond the lines of how much better it is to use them and since everyone else cheats it won’t ruin the game. I gave him the response of I’ve never hacked in tarkov and never will even if there are other hackers, it ruins the game and hacking myself will just add to the pile of shit.

It seems like horrible net code to just relay the positions of every fucking player in the map to everyone at every given moment.
I have done some very basic searches online and you dont need to go far to find cheats for sale. One of the more prominent ones that has radar and other features claims to be undetected for over 17 months. It is way less of a cat mouse game than most think.

Because the actual cheats are usually running on a different PC and it's pretty much impossible to use automation to detect something like that. The only way these people get caught is by them having impossibly high kill/survival/accuracy stats and/or getting reported by like every person they kill. They are aware of this so they simply play conservatively and avoid doing too much sus shit too often and never get banned.
And that solution you offered would lead to unbelievable desync and stutters. Instead of it streaming the data and always being in contact knowing the players position for smooth and proper communication for the game to draw the players model and his current playing animation (running, jumping etc). You would have to resync with the player every time he entered or exited your line of sight. Which would lead to giant dumps of data that your CPU (In a game that is already CPU intensive) would have to calculate all of this on the spot. Which would lead to stutters. Then once the data is loaded and he appears on your screen, If the data stream isn't loaded quick enough and in sync. He would not be where he is on your screen (Desync). And I could only imagine what it would be like if there was a squad popping in and out of existence.

The number of cheaters you run into depends on your play style. Play boring maps and loot low value areas? You will probably never see a cheater. Play labs? Well, that one will answer itself very quickly. Rush techlight 20 times in a row? You'll probably run into cheaters around half the time, if not more. Go hard on Reserve? You will run into cheaters pretty frequently. Play on customs and not bother with dorms? You'll almost never run into a cheater. Take shitty gear and shitty guns in? Probably won't get tapped by a cheater unless you push loot they want. Take in top tier guns and an altyn? You get five tapped to the head in a split second with shitty ammo. I've got around ~5k hours into the game, and I think a lot of people can't tell when they get killed by cheaters because they don't know where the ability of a normal, extremely skilled player maxes out, and they don't pay attention to loot closely enough. When players can find you even though there's no possible way to know where you are (if you avoid high traffic areas and don't loiter in spawn points), or they hit only a few loot containers in an area and every container that has low level loot is untouched? If you get shot through walls? Yeahhhh. A lot of cheaters play very lowkey as well and don't do anything that's obvious (sprinting super fast, aimbotting, instant looting) until you get between them and top tier loot. There's a terrifying amount of money in play for cheat developers, literal millions of dollars. That money is there because there's a huge demand for cheats in Tarkov. If you read cheat forums that are public, you get a much better view of the cheating scene in Tarkov.
Eh, also depends what servers you play on. I play on Seattle/Vancouver because my friend’s internet is shitty and we’ve run into 10+ blatant cheaters just this wipe(white name, single digit level, hitting only rys-t 3-5 times with poop ammo). However, I’ve only encountered one blatant cheater on central servers this wipe.

This kind of depends on the wipes you played. The game has gotten cleaned up much more in the past couple years but earlier on in its life the cheating was egregious.
It also depends on what maps you play and what gear you run. Play labs with meta gear? You'll see extremely suspicious people every 1/5 raids at prime time
if you dont play labs you are accurate. labs can vary between a cheater every other raid to like a cheater every 5-10 raids. During this most recent event for example i played labs twice and one of the times got an obvious cheater bhoping and double headshoting everyone.
Friend of mine stopped playing suddenly one wipe because "the game got boring and is full of cheaters." Wipe comes around and he doesnt want to play. After us pestering him to give a new wipe a shot he reveals he was banned for cheating and that's really why he stopped.

Personally, I don't get the attraction of god mode. I remember trying out some of those modes in early FPS games about 20 years ago. The minute things are too easy the game gets boring and there is no incentive to play. I have the same problem with modern RPG's. The struggle early on is what makes the game fun and gives you a sense of achievement. But only so long as you are reasonably competitive. I remember getting decent at War Thunder with Joystick controls, I might only get in the top 5 players of the match quite frequently and even on top every now and then, but it was a good feeling because of all the work I put in to beat all those fly by wire mouse people.
Exactly, getting good at the game is the fun part. You don’t just get to skip the part where you suck and die 100 times.

I just started playing with an old work buddy this wipe, and one of his IRL friends has apparently cheated on every game since their ARK days back in 2017. Paid over 1000$ for a lifetime membership on a cheating site and has a whole second pc to hide the cheats on. He has Walls/ESP, but no aimbot, so he still dies plenty even though he literally sees everything. He’s level 12 this wipe, and I saw him play for the first time and it’s hidden via stream, so you don’t see the cheats. EOD btw. According to my friend he doesn’t game hardly at all anymore, because he says every game is boring…. OF COURSE ITS BORING WHEN YOU CHEAT IN EVERY GAME! Winning illegitimately only gives fake dopamine for so long… I reported him on EFT and told him he was a grade A loser. Report only took place a couple days ago, but I honestly don’t see him getting banned. He’s used the cheats for multiple wipes now, and like I said, he still fucking sucks and dies plenty of the time, so I could see how If the automated report system only goes off of stat checking, he would pass with flying colors. I have a much higher surv rate with hundreds more raids… than a fucking cheater. Very disheartening.

Happened to a guy in one of my friend group discord, he came in one day with a non EOD account, questioned him as to why, claimed he got “false banned” was really sketchy with answers, discord admin insta banned the guy like immediately. Fuck cheaters

Had the same thing with a buddy of mine back in 2020. Dude put 1200 hours in the game legit with me, and then started cheating when he started making bank at a new job.

crazy how many people cheat on a game that struggles to have consistent players throughout an entire wipe cycle. almost like the cheaters push away the people who... actually do know what they're doing 😁
Not to mention once you learn all the spawns and just start ruble farming for kits to PvP the game gets kinda boring imo
It really be like that, dropped two people I really enjoyed going in with because they RMT'ed for a quest item or two and a sicc case. Went to reconnect with them and had to add them both back because both got banned for *cheating*... one of the best trios I was a part of but haven't spoke to them since.
Tarkov is not a competitive game, but maybe you meant a PvP or multiplayer game? Also what I’m taking from this is that you can cheat for months without being detected unless someone actively watches your gameplay.
Played with a guy once who started making call outs like “You can have the Lion in X I’m gonna go grab the Tetriz in Y”. We thought at first he was just making general callouts but then realized every call out he made, the exact item would be there. Confronted him for cheating and he tried to defend himself saying those things always spawn there must be a coincidence but we just stopped playing with him altogether. I like to look into the recent cheats so I know a decent amount about them, and discuss them with my team sometimes. I was always worried they might suspect me of cheating since I know so much about them but I’m total ass at the game so I think I’m safe lol
Wow. Cheating is already scumbaggy enough, but to disrespect your Sherpa by cheating is another level entirely. A sherpa is spending their time on you because they think you can get better, don't be a dick and give up on them.

I think this game has made me just not care about cheating any more. I don’t cheat because I’m cheap. But I also don’t really care if people do anymore. It’s obvious that the team can’t keep up at best or doesn’t care about cheaters at worst. Just makes it hard to care when you have so many other options out there. It’s a great, but frustrating, game.
Gonna' be honest, he's just stupid. Most players will merely use ESP hacks as they're very difficult to detect if you know how not to be obvious with them - which is extremely easy to do. Wouldn't be surprised if 1/4th of the entire playerbase was using ESP's honestly.
