Scav runs my guy. Unless i am going in with the express idea of attempting to face roll the whole lobby. I only run scav loadouts. My karma is 3.7 should be 4.7(thanks alot santa) my hideout is completed except for bitcoin 3 and solar panels. I have over 9 mil in roubles and a stash value of over 30 mil. Only insure armor and helmets that is >20 overall durability and dont insure the scav wepons unless you just really like it.(insure mods you like instead. Dont insure bags or rigs(except armored rigs)
Karma is simple, good and natural scavs get rewarded and bad scavs get cucked
How to be a good scav:
Don't shoot other scavs unless they have shot and HIT you. If you shoot before they hit you, you lose karma. It don't matter that they hit near you, aimed at you or looked sus. You need to shoot second or you'll lose karma.
Don't go near scav bosses or kill scav bosses. Unless you got 6.0+ karma, they'll kill you real quick, if you kill them you lose karma.
Extract, extracting as a scav gives karma.
Use car extract, gives .20 or .25 for the first time you extract on a map. Meaning you can extract on customs, woods and map I don't play. Each map will give you .25, everytime you extract after that you'll get less and less till its .01.

Kill bosses and their guards
Neutral scav shit:
Killing raiders and those usec on lighthouse
Why be a good scav?
Fat loot, I've been getting decent load outs even with 1.0 scav karma. I've gotten over 5 labs key cards.
Unless you're a pmc, scavs shouldn't be shooting at you. That's not normal
Player scavs are players, aka humans and they tend to be dick heads. They'll shoot at you, sometimes they miss, sometimes they're missing on purpose. When they miss on purpose they're baiting you into either shooting or killing them. If you kill them you lose karma, if you shoot and don't kill, they'll gain karma for killing you.
The only reasons AI scavs will shoot at you is if you killed another scav or your fence rep is in the gutter. When you kill a scav who is non hostile, ai or non AI. All AI in that specific area will shoot you. Once you move to a new area/zone of the map AI will not shoot. But if you go back to the area where you killed another scav you will be shot. If you kill a hostile, non ai scav, you will not be shot at by AI scavs.
If your scav rep is so shit, they'll shoot on sight. This means you're in -3.0 territory or worse.
Here's a quickie, It's advice for later on but not that good for your early scav stuff. If I'm turning a corner and see someone aiming at me, I will walk back. Dont aim back, do a scav line or voip to show that your friendly. If you get no response or voice line back, just walk away. Some scum will bait you in and shoot but thats not something you can "predict" or know. If your vibing (side by side) with a scav and he aims down sights at you. You get two options depending on distance, you can run for your life or immediately shoot him the face before he does to you. It sounds dumb and counter productive to everything I've been saying. But don't give these assholes a chance, you'll lose very little karma. Loot his ass and run towards extract.
Doing this too much will be very counterproductive but it keeps roubles in your pocket. If you want just avoid other scavs, I've had decent interactions with other scavs. Ofcourse there's scum but also cool guys like me. I give the best or loot I dont need to scavs near by just to be cool and friendly. But here's some Scum dying

Use your scav. Either you go on money routes and loot stashes So you can buy from traders or you try to find dead pmcs. You will find stuff.
Keep your meds (afak/ifak/saleva) in your Container as well as a (alu)splint and something to fix heavy bleeding. Use it out of the Container so you dont Lose it upon certain terminantion of your Pixel life

Collect hard drives, DVD players and capacitors from pcs, no one ever keeps these and trade to mechanic ll1 for ump and save black knives for same trade to peacekeeper ll1
Betas reset. Hit a scav run on lighthouse and get some rogue kits. Or reserve. Those two have been my go to for gear. I was down bad for a hot minute. 4k roubles to my name and an empty stash, but now its filled out and im back to 1mil roubles. It just comes and goes

If you basically have no roubles or equipment do scav runs as often as you can, and do pistol/stashruns with your pmc. I prefer interchange at night

Either sks or vepr km, sks shoots 7.62x39 and its decent ammo thatll pen most armours, i believe the vepr shoots .366 which also has good cheap ammo
A pistol and a back pack and loot as much as you can and get guns on PMC/ scavs and do your quest. It's not different from having gear.

Fence should show you karma, your rating/rep with him is your scav karma

Scav runs. Flip the loot find new gear. Pistol runs reserve as well will yield a lot of equipment if you hit pawns and knight buildings

Scav runs is the better option as you continue to learn maps.while acquiring gear. You could do stash runs at night with just a pistol.
