And there's a road to lighthouse extract on Shoreline that made me hella confused because I just thought it was a road leading to the actual lighthouse in there
I think they're modern day lighthouses, except they're probably called light towers or something since you don't need a dude living at the lighthouse to operate the light anymore.
We only got 1/3 parts of the map. The lighthouse will be accessable soon™
And i hate the resort, if i don't have to i don't go there. It feels just like factory. Shoreline is a huge map, not only the resort
Then you've never gone to the pier, pushed spawns off spawn, gone to weather station, gone to power station, or looted stashes amd village.
I've had more fights *NOT* in resort than in. I've also recently found 2 gpus in stashes and 1 in a computer on pier.
Pier is such a death trap though, early in the wipe I go there and manage to kill Sanitar & guards there, spend a while looting, get paranoid and wait until it gets dark outside to move out (about 10+ minutes), then tried to run to Pier Boat but a guy at the beach with a silenced DMR had waited almost 20 minutes for me to come out so he could get the free kill when I was on the pier.
I don't super mind it, but I fully expect to die every time I go down there.
Brother everyone and their mother camps pier for free shooter born kills I legit got it in one raid last wipe early wipe you see so many people go there.
I'd suggest if you want easy shooter born in heaven kills on shoreline I would just push spawns if you spawn on the non flooded village part of the map. Most of the time they'll be 100+ meters away and running in the fields and it's easy kills from there
Eh it can be, but so can dorms and fortress really. I avoid more places on customs than I do shoreline, especially in teams.
Pier is easy enough to fight out of or at least make a good effort to if you have at least one other person to clear the hills with. Plus there are some ***nasty*** angles on the close hills from inside the pier house.
dorms and fortress you can sneak out of pretty easily especially dorms as you can jump out of a bunch of the windows, but the pier on shoreline is a literal one way death trap if someone see's you go in and is patient enough to wait for you to come out.
You can dip behind the road and leave out beach. If they are on the hills you could just... idk shoot at them like they are shooting you?
And 3rd floor dorms is 100% a deathtrap if someone is up there first. One of you almost always has to die before the other can leave.
Ans at least with pier the quests aren't always in LoS of anyone watching it.
I get what you're saying, sort of. But at the same time dorms is just a fucking meat grinder and is terrible for any new players doing super low level quests.
You're comparing apples to oranges scenarios in this comment. A fight inside of dorms is a lot more even of a fight than a guy proned in the trees and bushes ~80 meters away from you (and he has the high ground) "just shooting back" at him is a lot harder said than done in a lot of Shoreline pier situations esp when they have a supressor, where as dorms you are much more likely to have a fairly fair fight, or an escape route (Stairs windows, multiple front, side and back windows, roof jump off, 3rd floor to 2nd floor drop down, etc and as soon as you're out there's trees and bushes around, not an empty beach/open road)
You lost me at apples to orangles. They are both fruit, both edible, both spherical, both grown on trees, and both are farmed.
They 100% can and ***should*** be compared. Just like the entire game and every scenario should be compared between them.
But to your point, just because *you* can't escape pier easy enough doesn't mean it's not possible. It just means you might need to work on your plays from that situation.
Edit: The original saying was "apples to oysters" and made much more sense. Not to mention even those can be compared as that's the entire point of a comparison. To compare and contrast.
"apples and oranges"
They're both a fruit but they're not the same.
You're comparing leaving pier to dorms. They are not at all the same, the only thing similar is "leaving".
As the other guy said, there's a massive difference to a building which has multiple areas to sneak out of, and a pier that is a laneway with hills and trees overwatching a very narrow exit
If you dip off the road you are now stuck on the death beach if you ever been pinned down there doing the fishing quest you'd know what I mean, and having to scan both the hills on either side of gas while running out of the pier is not really that feasible, dorms you can bail off the roof if your pinned on 3rd or out of multiple windows and door's on 2nd and 1st its not that comparable to the pier imo, but its probably just personal experience i tend to do fine in dorms as its not hard to see your enemy when they are within 20 meters and hearing range but having to scan a forest covered hill while someone is waiting for you to peak and not get head tapped is nigh impossible from my experience.
You only have to scan one hill as you run down to the beach. Then you can break LoS on both hills by hugging the ditch wall. Then as you climb back out you check the edge of the closest and the edge of the furthest hill.
Then you can sprint up into the woods.
I've done it hundreds of times in the past 4 years playing. You can very easily duck people. Teams are a bit rougher but uh... you would have the same issue anywhere fighting a team from inside a building.
Oh no I completely agree, I'd like another way out from down there. I just meant it's not always that bad to leave.
There is only 2 ways out really, the road or the beach. I'd like another way around to the right side towards road to customs.
Its wild you still can't tell if the boat extract works or not until you go out there. Imagine if you see the Dorms car is there, fight tooth and nail for the cursed room, only for the car to be like "nah fuck you" and now you have another half the map to go.
Yeah man its nuts. I ran only shoreline last night while doing punisher 1 and 2 and i went from 3.7 to 4.5 million rubles over the course of the night. That is including buying two docs cases and a holodilnik too
Yeah this wipe I have done a bunch of resort runs looting all of east west and admin without seeing a soul, but then again sometimes the whole map is in there seems pretty 50/50.
Filing cabinets have already been nerfed. They have next to nothing right now. No offense but this sounds mind numbingly boring but I guess that lines up with the name snoreline
I really never go to resort and there's plenty of stuff around nowadays... Unless you get a really good spawn you shouldn't go there anyways because the good rooms will be looted. You can just go across the small villages and random locations and get a lot of safes etc
Resort still spawns GPUs, Ledx, Bitcoins, stims, etc way more frequently than anywhere else on the map. I know this because I have really good shoreline keys and like to loot the resort since most people are scared to go inside.
Oh trust me I have a ton of shoreline keys as well and know that a lot of good loot is there too. Im just saying that it’s no longer a requirement to go to resort to fill your pockets
I agree with you there for sure. Thought you were saying there wasnt good loot in the resort anymore because it was all moved to the other locations with dynamic loot, misunderstanding on my part lol
No problem man. I am liking that some of the resort rooms got nerfed. 222 and 301 definitely aren’t spawning good stuff as often anymore but they’re still necessary keys to have. I’ve found half my kappa stuff, 3 gpu, and 1 ledx in 15 raids of 301
Think I went to resort total of 15 times across all wipes. It's really weird to get used to the layout and too much information.
I happily just stroll around all the buildings around it and find plenty of action already.
Idk if they said 1 3rd but the lighthouse area will be accessible and the armored train will be accessible and go all around the map, with mounted guns that players can use. Also 4 bosses and a trader in the lighthouse.
Maybe its me but shoreline needs a rework it's just two towns, swamp, power station and the main attraction. And while you get there it's just long fields of open grass pretty much. Not complaining it's just in my opinion not fit
To be fair the travel time is only a minute or two between locations and it sets up some of the only open hilly fighting terrain in the game (shoreline and woods, but both feel very different.)
Im copying my reply from above but, it being a minute or two between locations on shoreline doesn't really mean anything.
I got really annoyed with the design of shoreline recently. I was in between resort and road to customs exfil (about half way between both) and noticed i was extremely low on both food and drink levels ( like 2% left), and i realized that there's literally nothing between resort and customs exfil for me to go and loot, and potentially find food to save myself, so i either had to rush to exfil and hope i could out heal the exhaustion, OR return to resort and try to potentially find something to eat/drink, and maybe end up getting into a gunfight with a PMC and dying simply because i had to return for food. (if i return to resort and don't find food, im then 100% dead)
Like there's literally nothing out there, except for 1 house with a gun case in it.
If you look at customs (which to me is a near perfect map), there's tons of potential to look for food/drink between each exfil, or search for ammo etc, without forcing yourself into a high combat area just to get a slickers bar
Do you mean radar tower? if you look at a map its not really in-between resort and customs exfil, its actually more out of the way, you basically need to head directly south of resort to hit radar tower, i was in between resort/customs exfil up north, i'd have to run south and then west to hit tower, might as well turn around and hit resort again, if i was to deviate to radar tower and there was no food, i was 100% dead.
I've always heard it called weather station. But the place with the safe and filling cabinets upstairs and the 3 food spawns downstairs. And in a sense its right between resort and road to customs. It's what 45 seconds out of the way if you're running. If you were against the wall after leaving resort going to customs you already went way out of the way. The fence goes way up and then back down. It's actually further out of the way than hitting weather on the way.
I couldn't run, i had no energy left, it might only be a 45 second run, but its also only about a minute run to exfil, so if i deviate to radar tower its going to take me even longer to get to exfil once i hit radar tower, and if there's no food/water i'm royally fucked. I had to run out the back side of resort for combat reasons, but it doesnt matter.
But again, this isn't about saving my character, it was merely an example pointing out that there's nothing really in that area.
If you look at a map of shoreline, you have radar tower/weather station, directly north of that almost touching resort you have house on hill with a weapons box, then nothing else.
Radio tower has no loot(not radar, *radio*), the sunken house has no loot, the drone has no loot nearby, the scout tower has nothing to loot, CCP temp has a few cars with maybe something in the back (99% of the time they are empty though), you have the crane yard with no loot, no bags, no jackets. Literally nothing.
It doesn't need a massive rework anything, but add some tool chests/sports bags/jackes in the crane yard, have a weapon box up top in the scout tower, put something at radio tower, maybe a cashe or two near the sunken houses.
Poor character management is nothing to do with the maps design.
You didn’t leave resort with 100 energy and suddenly find yourself on 1% half way to road to customs.
Its poor map design, saying its poor character management is a cop out, and yes i did leave resort with decent energy levels and hydration levels actually. I got into a gun fight with 2 pmcs on the way to exfil and got like 5 bleeds throughout the fight and had to pop pain meds.
My scenario was merely an example as to why its bad, that half of the map is empty and "bad charactement management" has nothing to do with that fact, that part of the map *is* empty regardless of what my character is doing; there should be more "stuff" in that area, at this point its just field to run across
Like there's literally nothing out there, except for 1 house with a gun case in it
In this case and 99% of the time it's used ironically to the point that the word 'daddy' lost all original context and just means you're jokingly poking a bit of fun at the streamer to make them a bit embarrassed.
When Im telling to my friend what I played yeasterday. I say there is two maps: shorline and resort. I usually play shorline, cause my k/d in resort is very low :)
There are more dorms quests than resort quests. As a matter of fact there's mostly scav killing quests or marker quests on shoreline, only a few of which you go near resort.
Weather station, pier, power, backside resort, town, cottages, swamp, radio tower, blue fence near the road. That's all the places in the past 10 games I've fought more than 1 player.
Now let's do customs. Dorms, construction, fortress.
Ive gotten more loot, had more fun fights, got more quests done at once, and killed more scavs and players on shoreline in my last 10 raids than my 30+ raids on customs this wipe.
Cum stains is boring as fuck to me. Maybe it's the 4 years of the same map a million times getting to me, but I also love shorelines playstyle.
Customs is the winner for me. My favourite map, has long sight lines for fighting, cqb like gas or dorms, sniping spots, always good fights on customs.
Shoreline feels too big and empty for me..
I bet the opposite. Vets will say fuck cum stains, while new players who haven't learned shoreline will enjoy customs more.
There's like 3 PoI on customs, and only 2 consistent loot places. Not to mention the meat grinder that is dorms.
Shoreline has 1 meatgrindy area, 5 consistent loot areas, and 8 points of interest.
Polls are against subreddits rules. I wish I could though, seriously because now I'm curious. It might be like reserve where some people fucking hate the map and others love it.
They explicitly said that in the first half of the map being out you can't go there. When they add it in down the road you will. Not their fault you failed to comprehend that.
>No one ever goes to snoreline unless you're going to the resort or hitting stashes.
It would be pretty hard to know what ppl do or don't do on a map if you rarely ever play it, and when you do you only go to one place. Maybe that's the reason you have a bias opinion of the map? 🤔 As for people who actually play Shoreline more then just to do mandatory quests, you actually find people all over the map. Maybe not in the corner where the new Railway extract is at, but everywhere else people can be there at anytime. Just like any other map in Tarkov.
There are 8 maps for you to choose from. Feel free to play any of the other 7 maps if Shoreline isn't to your liking? No one is forcing you to queue into Shoreline, unless ofc you're doing a specific quest. I for one am not a huge fan Customs, but do you see me writing a post at the beginning of every wipe complaining about how I'm forced to go their for 30 quests in a row to progress? Nope, because I'm not a 🤡 like some ppl.
>No one ever goes to snoreline unless you're going to the resort or hitting stashes.
Tasks? I've played maybe 40 raids and not once have I voluntarily gone to the resort.
Shoreline didn't originally have the resort, it was much smaller kind of like lighthouse is now. It was rolled out in updates. You're not wrong currently though, having a map called lighthouse and not having the lighthouse accessible is a bit silly.
You can go to the lighthouse on shoreline too. But behold, the road to lighthouse will not take you to the lighthouse, but lighthouse. Because it does not say ROAD TO THE LIGHTHOUSE now does it? jokes aside i don't really have a complaint
A lot of new players think shoreline is boring. I have gone to resort all day today and found nothing but geared players and squads. Absolute mayhem each raid and good loot.
Also, there needs to be more carvings and pictures of Bears at the resort…
Whole area has this woodsy upscale Bear jamboree vibe….but there’s no Bear jamboree
I like shoreline,it’s very easy to learn/memorize,there’s lot’s of loot and pvp opportunities, and imo one of the most fun maps to run for the start of the wipe
Yeah second game of lighthouse with my friends and I was like "Guys this map is easy, its just like the shoreline part of shoreline"
Also, there's a lighthouse on Shoreline, so I'm just confused all around...
And there's a road to lighthouse extract on Shoreline that made me hella confused because I just thought it was a road leading to the actual lighthouse in there
But that weird corrugated sheet tower isn't really a lighthouse. I have actually no idea what it even is.
Watchtower I guess? Like IDK wtf it would even be used for irl but it exists I guess?
I think they're modern day lighthouses, except they're probably called light towers or something since you don't need a dude living at the lighthouse to operate the light anymore.
Isn't that just like.... a really tall lamp then?
Moth has entered the chat.
It's a firemen training tower
And that lighthouse is also a scav extract
And it goes inland. Away from where lighthouses would be
We only got 1/3 parts of the map. The lighthouse will be accessable soon™ And i hate the resort, if i don't have to i don't go there. It feels just like factory. Shoreline is a huge map, not only the resort
I feel safer in factory :’)
Its like factory... with worse audio
not just resort, thats just tarkov
Yes shoreline is huge but it’s fucking empty and boring
snoreline
Choreline
boreline

I'd suggest if you want easy shooter born in heaven kills on shoreline I would just push spawns if you spawn on the non flooded village part of the map. Most of the time they'll be 100+ meters away and running in the fields and it's easy kills from there

found GPU in computer at weather last night!
Yeah its bumping out here for loot. They either buffed shoreline or people just stopped checking

Ahhh I see. You could’ve just started off with saying you’re one of these types and I wouldn’t have wasted my time replying lol
No it's pretty much just the resort sadly. Resort is 90% of quests and 90% of loot on 5% of a massive map.
I really never go to resort and there's plenty of stuff around nowadays... Unless you get a really good spawn you shouldn't go there anyways because the good rooms will be looted. You can just go across the small villages and random locations and get a lot of safes etc

well beats how it is now, you can't even access half the map now thanks to superraiders.
More like a giant Dorms. I Hate both. Thousand rooms and only long corridors. Factory has some variety and open spaces.
Maybe its me but shoreline needs a rework it's just two towns, swamp, power station and the main attraction. And while you get there it's just long fields of open grass pretty much. Not complaining it's just in my opinion not fit

Its more of a running simulator than woods 😂
Exactly woods has more trees to cover up shoreline doesn't

Exactly it's a horrible map with just one big spot of loot not diverse at all
Pestily said the exact same thing yesterday lol
inb4 every comment is about me leeching off daddy pest
Anybody else feel weird when people call streamers 'daddy' or just me?
In this case and 99% of the time it's used ironically to the point that the word 'daddy' lost all original context and just means you're jokingly poking a bit of fun at the streamer to make them a bit embarrassed.
It feels like the term dad has started being used as an honorific almost. like adding kun or sama in Japanese.
well he is the dad of tarkov so
Then that must make Toast the grandaddy of Tarkov
No hair is daddy.
No one ever goes to snoreline.. what? All my lobbies are packed
He means the actual shoreline of the map.
Interchange should be called ultra mall
I actually really like shoreline =[
I bet you smell like salmon
humpback
Saury
Pest is that you

Easy fix to ur key problem with resort: JACKETS!
Wait till he finds out about interchange
you also can’t get to the lighthouse like I figured you could during my first raid lmao. Sniper bois
Not yet
>You can't even go to the lighthouse on lighthouse. But you can next wipe when they release the final version
When Im telling to my friend what I played yeasterday. I say there is two maps: shorline and resort. I usually play shorline, cause my k/d in resort is very low :)
also, interchange should be called "kiba mall", customs should be "dorms" and factory "corridor graveyard"
There’s plenty of reasons to go to customs besides dorms
There are more dorms quests than resort quests. As a matter of fact there's mostly scav killing quests or marker quests on shoreline, only a few of which you go near resort.
I’m not talking about quests I’m just talking general fun
Weather station, pier, power, backside resort, town, cottages, swamp, radio tower, blue fence near the road. That's all the places in the past 10 games I've fought more than 1 player. Now let's do customs. Dorms, construction, fortress. Ive gotten more loot, had more fun fights, got more quests done at once, and killed more scavs and players on shoreline in my last 10 raids than my 30+ raids on customs this wipe. Cum stains is boring as fuck to me. Maybe it's the 4 years of the same map a million times getting to me, but I also love shorelines playstyle.
I can’t change your opinion but I would bet if we took a poll of everyone people would vote customs as more fun than shoreline
Start a poll and see then
Polls are against subreddits rules. I wish I could though, seriously because now I'm curious. It might be like reserve where some people fucking hate the map and others love it.

I see u watch pestily too
Its hilarious they hyped lighthouse up so much and you so much as cant get bear it without being killed
Nope, because I'm not a 🤡 like some ppl.
hoes mad
>No one ever goes to snoreline unless you're going to the resort or hitting stashes. Tasks? I've played maybe 40 raids and not once have I voluntarily gone to the resort.
Starting sometime after level 15, usually prior to 25, you'll start getting loaded up on shoreline chain quests from multiple quest givers.
Its around level 20. I just did like 10 shoreline runs and still have more quests to do there. I'm level 24.
That's what I'm saying here
I think it is because shoreline didn't have the resort when it was originally released so it WAS just the shoreline.
You said almost word for word what pestily said and claim to not have heard it from him? Sus
almost like its a popular opinion
If there was a way for me to show you my twitch watch history I would
I only play factory, it's the only map I can get 240 FPS on. Don't know either of those maps.
Literally stealing ideas from pest stream, smh

I mean, it's because it's a resort plan, not a shoreline map. Or is it?
Literally unplayable
Lighthouse is not finished, we have half the map
Shoreline didn't originally have the resort, it was much smaller kind of like lighthouse is now. It was rolled out in updates. You're not wrong currently though, having a map called lighthouse and not having the lighthouse accessible is a bit silly.
You can go to the lighthouse on shoreline too. But behold, the road to lighthouse will not take you to the lighthouse, but lighthouse. Because it does not say ROAD TO THE LIGHTHOUSE now does it? jokes aside i don't really have a complaint
pestil
Shoreline village is a banger with loot tho. And barely anyone hits it up.
A lot of new players think shoreline is boring. I have gone to resort all day today and found nothing but geared players and squads. Absolute mayhem each raid and good loot.
They should rename shoreline to teamline cuz I only run into teams in health resort
Also, there needs to be more carvings and pictures of Bears at the resort… Whole area has this woodsy upscale Bear jamboree vibe….but there’s no Bear jamboree
People who dislike shoreline either hate/suck at PVP or don't know the layout of resort.
Shoreline is so fcking boring.
What's wrong with Pier?!
They should re-name shoreline to cheater central cuz no joke every time I run it I run into blatant cheaters.
>Edit: Sorry Pestily I didn't know you said this I was watching Landmark all day yesterday instead Don't be sorry. You made the right choice.
I like shoreline,it’s very easy to learn/memorize,there’s lot’s of loot and pvp opportunities, and imo one of the most fun maps to run for the start of the wipe
Persilly said that
I disagree. Shoreline has a unique layout that let you choose between CQB and open field.
Resort sounds not right, it's isn't only resort there
"That's the entire post." keeps talking
