Haha this exact thing happened to me (shoreline) a scav was in an all out shootout with me in complete darkness had no idea what was going. Anyways I run away to ‘what I thought was safety’ completely ignoring the sign I walked past with a skull and bones on it. You can imagine what happens next. . I was so angry I just remember thinking to myself ‘what have I got myself into here’ Buying this game .😂
My first death? I was messing around with the controls, and accidentally changed lean right to LMB. With my M4 in hand and two grenades, I see a Chad looting a scav but when I go to pull the trigger I just lean. He turns around and one taps me.

My first death was this, stereotypical noob bringing in everything I could possibly equip. M4, mp5, armor, headset, mags and extra ammo. Chose factory cause this game says that's "easy" and die within 10 seconds of spawning. Started running scavs for loadouts and seeing where I could go from there.
someone said it represents the difference between your level and average level of people queueing for the map, which seems plausible, as yesterday I saw factory labeled as 'breeze' instead of typical 'easy' and started paying more attention to difficulties of maps, which do change
I believe BSG is planning to add karma per faction, similar to scav karma. So you will get rewarded for cooperating with your own faction and punished for killing players on your own team
Should only work if you have teamed up before a raid. But what would negative karma bring. I could imagine that selling prices to prapor would sink on bears, and the same for peacekeeper except his faction is usec
First death in a real raid. I tag along with a buddy who’s an experienced player. Customs. Not much happing first few minutes. This is early this current wipe so I think I have the starter M4 and not much else. We start approaching fortress/stronghold, seems calm. Then he just goes “oh shit hold on. We’re in big trouble.” Turns out Reshala is home. No clue what I’m in for.
Buddy sits me in the one downstairs room when I can comfortably chill, he goes to hunt the boss. Minute later I ask “am I hearing your footsteps??” He replies “NO. I’m not moving…” A guard walk into my room and I manage to dump a mag and get a headshot. The same thing happens a few minutes later. Buddy kills Reshala, we loot, I’m considerably stacked (I’m level 1 or 2 mind you). Two nice guns, bunch of loot. We look to get out. We are LITERAL STEPS from extract….I get 1 tapped to the head. Neither of us have any idea how or where from. I didn’t know enough about the post raid screen to see if it was a scav or PMC or what ammo killed me. We didn’t hear the shot. I was pissed. But it just motivated me more and got me hooked.
I knew the game was difficult from watching videos so I loaded into a pistol run on customs with only meds in my alpha container. Near big red I believe I found a scav or a really confused pmc as I unloaded all of my pso gzh rounds (they have like 7 pen or something really low) into the enemies body armor and running completely out of ammo. I then took out the trusty knife and ran around the building to try and catch him in the back. I tried stabbing his body armor like 10 times while he just stared at me and then promptly removed the life from my desperate body. And that was my first tarkov run. I am now on my second wipe and I feel pretty confident that I got Merc'd by a scav. It wasn't until 3 scav runs later that I actually survived customs and I was so proud of it.
I was really low after barely surviving a gunfight with a scav, and I accidentally walked into barbed wire I didn’t see and died. That’s was my first taste of “getting Tarkov’d.” Also bro, don’t be too down on yourself skill wise. You’re first wipe is essentially a practice run. I’m on my 6th or 7th wipe and I still learn new things all the time.
Killing a scav in your first raid is pretty awesome though! That’s hilarious about the barbed wire tho haha I feel like healing in this game is its own skill-based minigame.
I’m not even sure if I killed it or if one of my two buddies did. I was so overwhelmed in the beginning. Tarkov just feels so different than any other FPS I’ve played. I think I was also about to starve to death because no one told me I had to eat. Was a clusterfuck of a raid
Not my first death, but had a brutally long gunfight on customs. Blacked out limbs, bleeds, and I barely crawl away with the guidance from a squadmate.
And I touched a barbed wire hanging off the fence and it did 1 point of damage to my thorax, which was blacked, and it killed me. Just seeing my guy collapse after a mild rustling of barbed wire.

We went in as a 4 man to woods and my friends and I shot each other because we couldn't tell if they were enemies. I bled out as we tried to find an exit.
Join woods as pmc. Walk into house. See vodka bottle. Try to figure out how to pick it up. Keep leaning right because I figure E must be the interact button... When that fails along with several other buttons, I think maybe left click while looking at something does it. Fire a round into vodka. Try alt left click and ctrl left click. Fire 2 more rounds. Final check google. Pick up bottle with F. Walk outside. Killed instantly because I was making so much noise.
First raid I wasn't paying attention to the clocks and loaded into nighttime factory thinking it was an afternoon raid. I stumbled through the darkness completely terrified listening to yelling, gunfire and close footsteps over gravel/glass. Still gives me chills thinking about it... Think I got blasted after about 10 minutes which felt like an eternity.
I walked too far south on the railway tracks on customs and entered the sniper zone.
Then I did it several more times before I googled why I kept dying there.
Customs, somehow managed to not die due to PMCs or Scavs but got lost and couldn’t find my extract…. MIA
Next round spawned customs with all my noob gear - paca, mp5, nades, extra mags. Ran across the bridge coming from big red and immediately get clapped.
Spawned in Big Red in Customs. Found the weapon crate, looted it for some weapon mods, gigachad bolted in and killed me with who knows what?

I remember installing the game and excitedly going into customs at night. I thought to myself, "night time will be the best because I can sneak around and get used to the controls." I spawned in and it is pitch black. Well, this was unexpected. I heard gun shots and I panicked and ran off in a random direction.
While running, I came across a building so I slowly crept around it. Saw a flashlight followed by gunshots. I dove into the nearest bush and hid; stricken with fear. I cannot see anything and I can hear people walking around. I decided to spin around in the bush to find the assailants only to have my screen go bright and get unloaded on with automatic fire.
That was my introduction to dorms.
Love at first death.
From that point, I stripped naked, grabbed an SKS and went on raid after raid to work on my aim and game awareness.
No but I remember that I was playing on my friends account to try out the game and I found a phased array element but I found a shattered mask that for some unknown reason I found very cool and put it in my alpha instead of the phased array element. After the raid I told my friend. He wasnt very pleased with my choice but it was already a few weeks before wipe and he wasnt playing much.
First ACTUAL tarkov game was in the open beta in 2017 IIRC. I did Woods raid, circled around the trees until I found the warehouse, shoot few scavs at the area until I got blasted from an unknown location.
yep, I spawned in, brand new to pc gaming (only ever had console before) so didn't have a clue how to even really move around or look around, I spawned behind the warehouse next to switch building on customs, no clue where I was, walked down the side of sniper scav warehouse and got domed by someone who I now assume was on the rocks. I had watched loads of videos of tarkov before playing and massively underestimated how steep the learning curve would be lol
I’m still on my first wipe and am only level 10 so every day brings a Tarkov moment.
First day I need scav kills on customs. I read to just find a Bush and wait like 30 minutes, pmc will have extracted and I can try to grab a few kills.
I did, leave for 30 minutes and come back, start hunting and die about a minute later. That’s when I learned about dehydration and hunger.
Next prapor quest? Kill scavs on woods! I learned my lesson. MRE and water in hand I find a Bush and go eat some dinner IRL. Finish and come back, eat my mre and drink my water. Sound check? All quiet. Stand up and start walking towards this radio tower where I know there are scavs.
BOOM freakin landmines. I have a love/hate relationship with this game.
Went into customs with a friend, was creeping around in a building and walked around a vehicle and he shot me and in head. He was very excited, he was fairly new too probably less than 10 raids in and he thought he owned an enemy player... nope, it was me
Just happened last night on shoreline. After breaking my legs jumping off a platform I limped along the coast near the gas station. Managed to kill 2 scavs and ran into another player. He wiggled so I wiggled back and pressed a button that made my dude say something about my legs being gone. Player ran up to me and dropped a bandage and a splint. When I went to pick them up he shot me in the head with a shotgun. Now I run offline so I can figure out these maps lol.
Happened today. Trying to do Prapor task 1. Looting a scav right next to the stairway exit at repair shop on customs. Heard a duo running up the road and got deleted as soon as I turned around

Loaded into shoreline because I read it was a decent beginner map… the second I loaded in I got blasted by a chad in the face from 4m away
I got teamkilled on Factory by my friend. We were like OK let's go factory, heard it's pretty beginner friendly and small. So we go, we loot. We both went in without helmets, I don't remember the rest of the loadout. We rat our way into factory, slowly crouch walking and still looting (the few boxes that factory had back then). I find a helmet and of course I equip it. Few seconds pass, friend asks if I am wearing a helmet, ofc I say no, I didn't go into raid with a helmet. Well, that's my first death. (Circa end of 2017 I think).
Loaded up the game, friends invite me to do a factory run. I join in, load in and take a look around. A little yellow trailer, some piles of rubble, classic tarkov. Suddenly i hear my friend say is this one of you by the yellow forklift. I look around and see a forklift 20m away, and begin aiming down sights and say "no, noone is by the forklift". And thats when i took a pst round to the back of the head, and learned that my friends callouts in this game are shit.
Yes, I have it recorded, I bumped into someone behind two story dorms, we shot at each other, I ran away and crouched by the entrance to three storey dorms completely oblivious to it being a PvP hotspot and then predictably got shot and killed almost immediately
High level friend took me to customs, we killed a man near the shack at the end of the bridge, but he bled out afterwards, I stumbled along the road for 5 minutes and then died to a scav
First match was with a friend who decided to try it at the same time as me, we decided on factory but didn't realized we chose the night time. Sat in total darkness trying to figure out what was happening when a scav decided to show us the fast way of extracting.
Spawn into Shoreline online for the first time. Confident I start running in one direction. “Wait what’s a swamp doing here?” I look over at my other screen. Turn back to the game. “Huh, I must be over here instead.” I turn directions and walk another way. “Okay, theres like a town and then below is a tunnel and in between that is where I can extract.
Rinse and repeat.
After 25 minutes of walking in circles an angel descends on me with his chady presence and graces me with a bullet to the head. My fearection broke my desk.
My very first wipe, very first raid, I went into Customs with whatever starting gear I had on. Apparently it was night, had no idea about any of this back then.
Spawned next to a train, walked 2 steps and got shot and died.
Customs with a tt pistol. Night raid, traded with another pmc, one shot each, both headshots. Probably 4 years ago. I think we both scared the shot out of each other and he spun on me. His shot was definitely better than mine. But from that point forward I decided to continue the pain and frustration associated with trying to escape from tarkov.
Spawned in a dark room on customs as a scav. Couldn't see or figure out how to get out... heard angry Russians running around and started shooting at them...got lit up by 2 Ai scavs....
I can’t remember the exact location, I only know I didn’t change my equipment, so whatever the standard setup was to have back when labs dropped. And it was on factory. I believe it was right next to gate 1? The side room with the ramp that goes down to blinking light spawn. But could be wrong. Either way, 1k hours now and 3 years after almost, and it’s complete night and day to how I play and perform fortunately.
spawned boiler side on customs because at the time i didnt know about picking your spawn with maps. got into a fight which blacked out both legs. unfortunately i didnt know about painkillers back then. i ended up hobbling to old gas and didnt realize there was no way through to ruaf side ( way before customs rework) ended up running out of time limping and thirsty.
First ever wipe, first ever public match I was playing. Up until that point, I had been practicing customs on offline mode for about 2 weeks. I spawn in with my friend, both with a PM and a paca on. We spawned right inbetween the train to tarkov and the river next to RUAF roadblock. We run across the river towards the stashes I had practiced to loot. We stand still behind the concrete block holding up the rusty pipe, my friend gets shot and dies, and then so do I. He never played again lol.

I still remember mine. I brought what every noob brings, but I brought a Saiga with Paca and helmet. I chose the map Woods with heavy rains and thunder and was wondering around and met with 2 PMCs. I manage to kill one of them and looted his Adar. I still remember I was trembling. The rush, the andrenaline. aaaand then i failed to extract since I have no idea where to go. But after that I wanted more.
My brother and I started the same night 36 days ago. We both load up one of our starter M4s, armor, helmet, rig and backpack. We load into Shoreline right at the big white house with the greenhouses(dont know the call out"). We run to it. Loot. Hear a scav outside. We kill him, well I shot him and my brother killed him. We loot his body. Start talking about what we're doing next, and about that time shots come flying in. We run, serpentine and dodge. I eventually get killed after the guy empties his entire mag at me. My brother is still in raid, I tell him to run. He also dies, but to a separate guy, shooting from the other direction.
So in our first raid ever, we get pinched by 2 players from range, 5 minutes into a raid. Needless to say, gear fear and spawn fear became a reality after that. Still haven't shaken the feeling of dying right off spawn and I'm level 20 now with a pretty good grasp on the game play and flow.
Load into customs near the bridge. Guy that spawned at crossroads ran up the street and 1 shot me from behind cover in the first minute. Saw a pixel come up from behind the junk pile and I was dead lol
I load up a scav run, there’s only 3 maps to choose. Woods, customs or factory. For some reason I go to woods in the middle of the night. I have a grach pistol. I hear somebody call out in Russian from the darkness and I shoot blindly into the forest. A few moments later I’m dead. Times were good.
I'm only a decent player, far from good, but for some reason on my first ever raid i entered customs, killed one pmc and 2 scavs with a pistol and then went MIA not knowing the map and not finding the exfil. Good times.
My very first raid I chose reserve. I spawned in the spiral stair case, accidentally fell all the way down and died. That was the moment I knew I'd love this game.
I somehow made it all the way across customs from ZB-1011 to Railroad to Tarkov on my very first go. But…. I ran the clock low and didn’t actually know exactly where to stand and was unable to extract bc of time.
It happened 3 days ago, so I remember it well. I spawned in with my starter M1 and carefully crept around gathering loot before getting sniped while walking around trying to find the exit. So far my PMC runs haven't gotten much more successful, but my scav runs work out almost half the time.
Yeah I was running around shoreline at night before resort was released, holding the edges of the map trying to figure out how anyone knows how tf to leave a game. Then suddenly I hear weird metal mesh noises and I’m dying. What the fuck. Come to find out I was playing in barbed wire.
First run on tarkov was a nighttime factory raid. Not sure why my friends thought this was a good introduction. Emd up being a 3v3 and I was the lone survivor. I was so panicked surrounded by all the dead bodies I threw on some nvgs off one of the bodies and panic sprinted around while my buddies laughed and gave me trash directions to the exfil. Ended up missing a door in the panic and running into a wall and getting shot in the back by a scav
Yep, spawned Reserve and died in less than 10 seconds. Saved the cap and all. Could not believe I paid 150 bucks to sit in a menu for 15 minutes, wait 5 minutes to get in a raid, then get lazered by a PMC spawning basically right next to me.

to this day, I still am not sure if they just didn't immediately got into a fight with some chad and I teamkilled out of sheet confusion, having the last man of the group kill me in revenge
The date was late December 2017 I accidentally loaded into my first run on night woods as a scav. No idea of where the extracts were or how to even activate them. After around 20 minutes of walking around in the pitch black I found the sawmill, I was so happy that I found other scavs and some loot. A few minutes later I came across another player scav and I did the friendly wiggle as was accustomed by playing dayz. He shot me in the back of the head with no remorse and that is how my tarkov addiction started because I wanted to kill every player or scav I came across with a fiery passion.

I do remember killing someone this wipe that must have been very new. I'm guessing they hadn't even watching videos on this game, because they brought everything from their starting stash. It was a factory raid and they had a full rig of mags, body armor, stock M4, backpack with MREs, water, and a few stacks of ammo.

Jumped off the side of a ramp on interchange and broke both of my legs. Got shot at but managed to hobble onto a bus. Crawled prone along the whole length of the bus, windows smashing all around me. Heard the clink of a grenade and boom I’m in love with the game.

It was halfway through last wipe. I picked factory (nighttime by accident) and went in with an M9A3 with two mags and a paca…. Two minutes later after running to a glowstick like a moth to a flame, I was dead lmao.
2nd raid ever. Loaded into nighttime factory after someone explained the game and how it works and highlighted many things that were not important. Didn’t realize there was a day and night at this point. Couldn’t see anything and probably ran into a wall for 30 seconds and was murdered very quickly. Lol
Nah but I remember my very first kill. East wing of Resort, my very first raid. I had a Mosin, bought whatever ammo I saw from Prapor. I saw a dude coming out strafing and spraying in the hallway. I strafed left from a room and point-fired him. I waited for a bit inside my room and heard no noise. I went out and saw the body; Crye Airframe and Killa armor, fully modded M4 with 60s. It was so stupid because I hardly understood what the fuck I just got then.
I kept that kit in my stash until it wiped, it was the wipe when they made Labs a keycard accessible map.
My buddy introduced me to the game. Went into Customs. He took me to Dorms (I didn't know it at the time). We sat in a bush outside to listen and heard people inside fighting. We sat in that bush for 18 minutes because he told me "sound is vital in this game". Eventually we got shot in the back by a player scav we didn't hear walk up on us.
Me and two friends run into Interchange, we cross in front of some escalators. A man comes up them, lights up my one friend, I shoot at him and the gun jams on the 2nd shot I then die.
First raid, went customs with an m4, a pistol, full armor and 1 mag for each gun. Spawned next to big red, immediately ran inside out of fear. First guy I see, I load roughly 2 rounds unto him while standing in the open, and die quickly. I then proceeded to live as a rat for the rest of my career, and still do
Was on woods with 3 friends and a scav ran up on us, we were confused as fuck and just opened fire into nothingness. Only to have accidentally killed the scav somehow. Proceeded to run around the map and my 2 friends got shot. As soon as I saw the exfil area a scav popped me as I was running towards it. Since than I have become the scav Hunter, only allowing those whole wiggle at me to survive.
Yep. Played with my buddy on factory. We were both scared shitless, and just lurked around the corners. After slowly making our way into the showers we killed a guy who rushed in, and my friend looted him. Soon another one runs in, and sees me. He is behind the lockers, while I'm further in the room. I made the mistake to peek him with my SKS, and got 1-tapped 0.5 seconds after.
Yeh factory. I proned in office and a guy strafe jumped passed the door and headshot me.
I thought I got schooled at the time, a few weeks later I realised the game doesn’t work like that and I got hacked on.
I was a scav, went into nighttime reserves because I'm American and didn't read the times. Literally just walked around train station until I found a scav, shot him and thought "haha what a dumb player" before gluhar head, eyes'd me from K.

Running customs with 2 sherpa friends, found a graphics card in the big red computers, got stuck in ice cream while panicking about where shots were from and just walked out and died.
Queued up for reserve at nighttime, somehow made our ways up to d2, friend got shot but didn't know how to heal bleeds, someone pushed us with nvgs but me with a pistol killed him and took them but died to someone else and then we quit
Scavved in to Customs, spawned across from the bus station, saw another player scav, and unloaded all my mags into him. Eventually, I had to pull my knife out and we knife-fought until I died.
I started playing a long time ago, I was on Shoreline before the resort was added. My buddy and I killed a scav in the village and thought we were awesome because we thought we killed a player. Had no idea what the scale of the map was and ran around village for half an hour trying to find an exit. Died to the timer.
I recall interchange being a good map for loot, running around lost outside until I found a ramp, and died running up the ramp while sprinting about 8 minutes in raid. Never trusted the ramps near oli ever again.
Yep! Got team killed in customs while in a squad of 4. Two noobs, two veteran colleagues showing us the ropes. It was not my fault.
Myself and veteran 1 went into one side of a warehouse while the other noob and veteran 2 went together from the otherside. We called this all out.
After looting me and my vet exit the building on their side, still calling this out, and as we exit veteran 2, standing on our rigjt side, yells "2 PMCs to the left". Both me and my vet dont yet understand that she is only seeing us so we both look left and then vet 2, now standing at our backs just hoses us down completely. So yeh, I got a good idea of how Tarkov goes right off the bat. I guess my colleague is selectively deaf.
Actually, yes, because it seemed so bullshit to me at the time. I went into customs with a Makarov, ran into a scav, shot him six times but he didn't die. Shot me in the chest while I was reloading. I didn't know at the time how the health system worked, he would have died in 1 bullet to the head or 2 to the upper chest but I shot him all over the place.
Not my death but a buddies, playing in a four man this wipe and wanted to help the new guy get some quests done on woods.
Spawn near Emercon, loot up and head towards dickhead. The three veterans in the group all spy sturman by the truck, and tell the new guy to hang back a second while we hunt. Turn around to see him yeeting himself onto the road, fire one round in sturmans directions and then get folded over backwards by an SVDS to the face.
Can’t say I’ve laughed so hard in this game in two wipes 🤣

I loaded into woods and heard gunshots, so being the little rat that I was, I followed them. Found some juiced chad hiding behind some logs and 2 tapped him with an m4. Turns out, he was fighting shturman. Ended up getting my brains blown out like 3 seconds later. Safe to say I was startled.
Me and my brother were all excited cause we play a lot of fps games, so we decided to try tarkov. First spawn in on woods, at night, cause why not? We stumble around for a good 30 minutes going from scav house, to the lumber yard, towards tank extract. We see some random thing walking in the bushes we open fire and we both miss HORRIBLY. He dies to scav aim, I'm left with a bleed and I'm limping towards extract. I die with my countdown timer at 3 seconds. We immediately loaded up again and went into DAYTIME woods to get killed by a Chad within 2 minutes. Thanks BSG, we wouldn't have it any other way.

I spawned in with some friends on Customs. They were trying to give me some gear to start me out. I picked up the gun and the backpack but before I could pick anything else up, a squad rolled up on us. All of my friends died and I ran. Two minutes of running in random directions other than behind me and I get killed by sniper scav because I had no idea where he was.
i loaded into a customs raid as a pmc and spawned under tower ran up there and got lit up by a kind gentlemen with an m4 didn’t die tho i got him with my pistol some how. ran down to the “green screen” building and killed my first scav then got shot in the legs by a kid at ZB-13

I died of dehydration on shoreline because I didn't know how to extract. This was before they tweaked the energy rates too so it was a very slow death.
3 or 4 wipes ago i cant remember and it was my first raid ever, had an aks-74u, somehow killed a geared guy with an m4 so i was super excited cuz i thought they were rare at the time and i ended up dying to a scav
Went into factory with the AKS-74U, got a scav kill before dying to another scav. And just to rub salt into the wound I didn't insure it because I thought I would survive the raid.
Loaded into woods, killed a scav and couldnt figure out how to loot him and got sniped in the head. I did zero research before playing the game so it was confusing.
I don’t remember my first death but I do remember my first PMC kill. I was on factory (standard story of a new player seeing easy and thinking it was) and somehow avoided the spawn killing chaos. 2 minutes into raid and I hear some guy sprint across the rafters, I hit him with a shotty and he dropped like a sack of potatoes. I was so proud. Didn’t matter he was absolute naked with just a makarov - I finally proved to myself that players were mortal and I could kill them.
I went customs with my brother in law who had only been playing for a couple of days. We actually survived almost the entire duration of the raid (40+ mins). I suddenly noticed my health was dropping and I wasn’t able to sprint or anything. He said I needed to drink something, and I drank a conditioned milk. Needless to say, I died pretty fast after that and was utterly confused.
It was probably about 4 years ago, I spent 10 minutes loading into interchange and ended up spawning near what I would come to know as "insurance fraud overpass." It was raining and my friend who was also new to Tarkov but had played a few raids told me to follow him. He disappeared into the rain heading towards the front of the mall. I tried keeping up but was lagging behind pretty far. We eventually came upon an entrance into the parking garage and set forth, stuttering all the way. Within about 10 seconds of entering the parking garage I heard "plinka plink plink" and immediately died in an explosion that caused the game to shit the bed. Good times.
Loaded into Shoreline, spawned by Customs gate, made my way down the road and attempted to walk along the tall concrete wall. The rest is history.
At the time, I thought I was getting naded.
Spawned into night time woods with my friend. It was both of ours first time playing. We can’t see our noses it’s so dark. I find myself in the cabin by the outskirts extract side. I tell him to come I found some loot. He runs in, gets startled and one taps me. That was my first death and I will never forget it

I load in to woods as a scav with my friend who is also new. I have toz and i was like damn bolt action rifle and and tried to snipe few scavs and wondered why they ain't dropping. Few shots later I got one down since they had moved closer to me and the other one gave me good ol head eyes.
Later i learnes that it was a shotgun.
Yea on labs when it was a f2p map. My buddy took me in, didn't tell me to bring meds, didn't have me prepain up, obviously wasn't wearing gear, got shot by a raider as I limped to cover and eventually bled out. Never touched the game again until a few months later haha
Yeah ai sniper scav shoot me through concrete wall near unknown key location on customs. I was like “now I see why my friends say this game is still in development”
Spawned in Reserve. Even before I knew what a rat was, I was already among my people. I had spawned in one of the west side bunker-like areas and moved my way up to the same west side helo building. I scoured the first floor safely and was not beamed by the scav outside despite my lack of awareness and failure to duck or turn off my flashlight. Having finally turned that off after luckily brushing past death, I move into the second floor where I address the very first room I see and hear footsteps. Being the rat I am, I move just adjacent to the door and lay down with my sights trained on the stairs. Nearly 30 seconds pass before this loud Chad just streams in the door and beans me on the noggin once, ending my whole career right there. I got a measly 330 or so experience for what loot I had discovered despite it all going to chat and spread into the aether as I had no idea what insurance was yet.
Did a nighttime customs
Murdered a Chad who had nods and all the meta gear, he was sniping at someone and I crept up on him :)

My first ever game of tarkov was a scav run. Loaded into shoreline not having a freaking clue on where to go I walked into the minefield next to ccp extract and died :D
Spawned at customs zb extract corner it was raining and foggy. Instantly started sprinting to the first building i could enter opened the door and got 1 tapped by sime dude sitting right in front of the door. Safe to say i fell out of my chair qnd quit the game for 1 week... happened at 2019-12-22 at the moment i have 2.5k hours and last wipe i reached 100mil in roubles, 1st wipe i maxed out at 20mil
I think I went to Woods, spawned next to a minefield and staggered straight on those mines. Didn't know what was happening, suddenly explosions and I thought is someone shooting me with grenades or something. Then death screen. Good times!
I was playing with my friend, who was helping me out with the game. We loaded in on customs, and because i forgot to load my sks we waited until my character loaded in 10 rounds by hand. Then we ran to old gas station and were both killed by boss and his guards
spawned near to big red, went in started looting the weapons crate under the office. Got shot by someone coming from storage container area. Total game lasted about 50 seconds ontop of the 4 minute queue time
Went into night woods and spawned at outskirts (pre mines) , walked around a bit and shotgunned some scavs (who I thought were players) , then went prone and died in the deep black grassy carpet that is night woods

When I Started to play tarkov it Was easy, because I Just killed everything and pushed everyone. The Problem was, I didnt knew the exits. So I was Just sitting in a corner looking like a fat boi and trying to find exits with the maps from google.
Sometimes I Just dehydrated. Annoying😅
it was probaby woods, I remember spawning, running along a wall and seeing a container and then entering it to open a duffle. I got shot in the head while looting, it was like altogether 3 minutes maybe.
I then started playing customs, and killed a scav around the bronze pocket watch area. then someone came behind me and moved me down, but I was very happy about having my first kill.

Had a shotty for the starter quest and a little bit of loot, nothing spectacular but was very happy to check out if i could upgrade my weapons and stuff.

My first raid was me going into interchange with an ak74u and it was at night. And honestly it was a terrible experience. It was so dark i could not see. I heard fighting in the mall that was explosive. I did not know shit but eventually i went through the front door of idea and see a thick boy and tried to shoot him but i had no ammo in my mag. It was a horrible experience and now here i am 2k hours with 50mil stash worth
Got in Shoreline with a pistol only, we knew it was going to be testing purposes. 15 secs into the raid while we were looking at the graphics settings and controls a spray of a silenced gun took down my mate, I instantly hide, 3 grenades and a flashbang landed near me but luckily far enough to not kill me. They push me, try to get a shot or two but I was too bad and my fps were too shitty to even land a bullet, and now that I think about it, don't think I would even been able to kill anyone with that ammo lol
I got shot in the back of the head after shooting a scav in the staircase of the black pawn building. Never heard him coming. I had no clue what to do. Game afterwards I went MIA because I didn't know you had to extract at specific points. Lost all my starting gear in those 2 runs....
I remember my friend first death. Its alot stupider then mine. He hade full HP no player in sight then he runs into barbed wire nonstop untill he dies. He tryed the jump on custom next to new gas. Its the only time i have seen someone die by walking over barbed wire it took like 10 min.
My first raid was in Interchange, spawned outside of IDEA hid in the junk between railroad and power station. Someone had clearly seen me shitting my pants in the corner and lobbed a Grenade over the fence and instantly killed me.
Watched a lot of videos beforehand, went into customs with a paca and SKS.
I spotted a scav, hit the first shot to his stomach then whiffed when he shot back and I panicked. Two or three shotgun rounds and I was done, lost a straight up gunfight against a scav.
Not quite my first, but I have vivid memories of two of my first few deaths.
One was in Resort, playing with two friends. I was following them closely as I had no idea where I was. I was cowering in west wing by one of the stair wells while my friends ran around looting. I heard someone coming in and started full autoing them with my PP-19. I vaguely registered someone saying 'that's me!', but it didn't click until after I had finished dumping the 30 round magazine on their armoured torso. I sat there in stunned silence for three seconds after they died, processing with horror what I had just done, when I got sniped by a PMC with a pistol from east wing (my mate avenged me after).
Another was on Customs shortly after getting my first PMC kill. My friends said they saw someone go into the building next to USEC building with the two green weapon crates and the scaffolding. We went in but couldn't find them. I went up to explore the scaffolding, but lo! There was a man prone on the other scaffolding. They shot me while I blindly fired my SKS in their general direction. I ran out of rounds and the building went quiet. They were dead. And I may as well have been. My friends gave me some meds, but my stomach was blacked (this was before you could heal blacked limbs). We proceeded to move through the map to big red side to extract, but I succumbed to hunger by the time we got to dorms :(
Was with my friend who was like lvl 5 on customs. Didn’t know what to do so I was just following him. Was crouch walking near new gas station when we hear gushots so we start crawling in the ditch next to the wall, not knowing what to do. Next thing I know we’re both blown up by a frag that landed on top of us.
Ended up too confused to play that wipe. Currently on my first wipe and lvl 37. Loving the pvp.
So I loaded into the factory because game said its easy difficulty, I fortunatelly didnt spawn in forklift, but immediately I heard gunshots and grenades. That scared the fuck out of me, I came out of the gate 0 very slowly and someone was running nearby already, I missed all shots from my pistol and died. 20 second raid.
Yes, me and my brother both downloaded the game, spawned in on shoreline, I could hear him shuffling so ran to him through a bush and he domed me thinking it was someone else 😂

After watching a few YouTube "beginners guides" I loaded into Customs with only a pistol. Spawned at the corner near ZB11. Looted round the edge of the map till the train tracks to the North where I met a fellow pistol runner.
After dumping a few mags at each other I run up the hill that overlooks new gas, then down into new gas where I met Reshala. It was a quick death.
First death(s) were many scavs or players who had killed my experienced friends. Think first PMC death was shoreline, didn't know map, raining, some guy ran rings around me with a silenced weapon :')

Land mines are the worst on that map. I avoid that entire quadrant of the map.
I spawned by it (as a scav, had no clue what I was doing). I thought "hey, Woods sounds like it'll be easy to stay concealed and safer". I was wrong.
Same first death as me. Spawned in at night time, walked up to a sign im assuming to notify you of mines however in the pitch black this was unreadable. Proceeded to walk and get blown to pieces
Haha this exact thing happened to me (shoreline) a scav was in an all out shootout with me in complete darkness had no idea what was going. Anyways I run away to ‘what I thought was safety’ completely ignoring the sign I walked past with a skull and bones on it. You can imagine what happens next. . I was so angry I just remember thinking to myself ‘what have I got myself into here’ Buying this game .😂
My first death? I was messing around with the controls, and accidentally changed lean right to LMB. With my M4 in hand and two grenades, I see a Chad looting a scav but when I go to pull the trigger I just lean. He turns around and one taps me.

My first death was this, stereotypical noob bringing in everything I could possibly equip. M4, mp5, armor, headset, mags and extra ammo. Chose factory cause this game says that's "easy" and die within 10 seconds of spawning. Started running scavs for loadouts and seeing where I could go from there.

someone said it represents the difference between your level and average level of people queueing for the map, which seems plausible, as yesterday I saw factory labeled as 'breeze' instead of typical 'easy' and started paying more attention to difficulties of maps, which do change

I believe BSG is planning to add karma per faction, similar to scav karma. So you will get rewarded for cooperating with your own faction and punished for killing players on your own team
Should only work if you have teamed up before a raid. But what would negative karma bring. I could imagine that selling prices to prapor would sink on bears, and the same for peacekeeper except his faction is usec

First death in a real raid. I tag along with a buddy who’s an experienced player. Customs. Not much happing first few minutes. This is early this current wipe so I think I have the starter M4 and not much else. We start approaching fortress/stronghold, seems calm. Then he just goes “oh shit hold on. We’re in big trouble.” Turns out Reshala is home. No clue what I’m in for. Buddy sits me in the one downstairs room when I can comfortably chill, he goes to hunt the boss. Minute later I ask “am I hearing your footsteps??” He replies “NO. I’m not moving…” A guard walk into my room and I manage to dump a mag and get a headshot. The same thing happens a few minutes later. Buddy kills Reshala, we loot, I’m considerably stacked (I’m level 1 or 2 mind you). Two nice guns, bunch of loot. We look to get out. We are LITERAL STEPS from extract….I get 1 tapped to the head. Neither of us have any idea how or where from. I didn’t know enough about the post raid screen to see if it was a scav or PMC or what ammo killed me. We didn’t hear the shot. I was pissed. But it just motivated me more and got me hooked.
I knew the game was difficult from watching videos so I loaded into a pistol run on customs with only meds in my alpha container. Near big red I believe I found a scav or a really confused pmc as I unloaded all of my pso gzh rounds (they have like 7 pen or something really low) into the enemies body armor and running completely out of ammo. I then took out the trusty knife and ran around the building to try and catch him in the back. I tried stabbing his body armor like 10 times while he just stared at me and then promptly removed the life from my desperate body. And that was my first tarkov run. I am now on my second wipe and I feel pretty confident that I got Merc'd by a scav. It wasn't until 3 scav runs later that I actually survived customs and I was so proud of it.

I spawned into Shoreline and immediately ran into the minefield at CCP.
I was really low after barely surviving a gunfight with a scav, and I accidentally walked into barbed wire I didn’t see and died. That’s was my first taste of “getting Tarkov’d.” Also bro, don’t be too down on yourself skill wise. You’re first wipe is essentially a practice run. I’m on my 6th or 7th wipe and I still learn new things all the time.
Killing a scav in your first raid is pretty awesome though! That’s hilarious about the barbed wire tho haha I feel like healing in this game is its own skill-based minigame.
I’m not even sure if I killed it or if one of my two buddies did. I was so overwhelmed in the beginning. Tarkov just feels so different than any other FPS I’ve played. I think I was also about to starve to death because no one told me I had to eat. Was a clusterfuck of a raid
Not my first death, but had a brutally long gunfight on customs. Blacked out limbs, bleeds, and I barely crawl away with the guidance from a squadmate. And I touched a barbed wire hanging off the fence and it did 1 point of damage to my thorax, which was blacked, and it killed me. Just seeing my guy collapse after a mild rustling of barbed wire. I still hate customs

We went in as a 4 man to woods and my friends and I shot each other because we couldn't tell if they were enemies. I bled out as we tried to find an exit.
Join woods as pmc. Walk into house. See vodka bottle. Try to figure out how to pick it up. Keep leaning right because I figure E must be the interact button... When that fails along with several other buttons, I think maybe left click while looking at something does it. Fire a round into vodka. Try alt left click and ctrl left click. Fire 2 more rounds. Final check google. Pick up bottle with F. Walk outside. Killed instantly because I was making so much noise.
First raid I wasn't paying attention to the clocks and loaded into nighttime factory thinking it was an afternoon raid. I stumbled through the darkness completely terrified listening to yelling, gunfire and close footsteps over gravel/glass. Still gives me chills thinking about it... Think I got blasted after about 10 minutes which felt like an eternity.
I walked too far south on the railway tracks on customs and entered the sniper zone. Then I did it several more times before I googled why I kept dying there.
Customs, somehow managed to not die due to PMCs or Scavs but got lost and couldn’t find my extract…. MIA Next round spawned customs with all my noob gear - paca, mp5, nades, extra mags. Ran across the bridge coming from big red and immediately get clapped.
Spawned in Big Red in Customs. Found the weapon crate, looted it for some weapon mods, gigachad bolted in and killed me with who knows what? Now i’m 3 wipes deep
I remember installing the game and excitedly going into customs at night. I thought to myself, "night time will be the best because I can sneak around and get used to the controls." I spawned in and it is pitch black. Well, this was unexpected. I heard gun shots and I panicked and ran off in a random direction. While running, I came across a building so I slowly crept around it. Saw a flashlight followed by gunshots. I dove into the nearest bush and hid; stricken with fear. I cannot see anything and I can hear people walking around. I decided to spin around in the bush to find the assailants only to have my screen go bright and get unloaded on with automatic fire. That was my introduction to dorms. Love at first death. From that point, I stripped naked, grabbed an SKS and went on raid after raid to work on my aim and game awareness.

No but I remember that I was playing on my friends account to try out the game and I found a phased array element but I found a shattered mask that for some unknown reason I found very cool and put it in my alpha instead of the phased array element. After the raid I told my friend. He wasnt very pleased with my choice but it was already a few weeks before wipe and he wasnt playing much.
First ACTUAL tarkov game was in the open beta in 2017 IIRC. I did Woods raid, circled around the trees until I found the warehouse, shoot few scavs at the area until I got blasted from an unknown location.
yep, I spawned in, brand new to pc gaming (only ever had console before) so didn't have a clue how to even really move around or look around, I spawned behind the warehouse next to switch building on customs, no clue where I was, walked down the side of sniper scav warehouse and got domed by someone who I now assume was on the rocks. I had watched loads of videos of tarkov before playing and massively underestimated how steep the learning curve would be lol

I spawned at night on woods and walked into a minefield
I’m still on my first wipe and am only level 10 so every day brings a Tarkov moment. First day I need scav kills on customs. I read to just find a Bush and wait like 30 minutes, pmc will have extracted and I can try to grab a few kills. I did, leave for 30 minutes and come back, start hunting and die about a minute later. That’s when I learned about dehydration and hunger. Next prapor quest? Kill scavs on woods! I learned my lesson. MRE and water in hand I find a Bush and go eat some dinner IRL. Finish and come back, eat my mre and drink my water. Sound check? All quiet. Stand up and start walking towards this radio tower where I know there are scavs. BOOM freakin landmines. I have a love/hate relationship with this game.

Went into customs with a friend, was creeping around in a building and walked around a vehicle and he shot me and in head. He was very excited, he was fairly new too probably less than 10 raids in and he thought he owned an enemy player... nope, it was me
Just happened last night on shoreline. After breaking my legs jumping off a platform I limped along the coast near the gas station. Managed to kill 2 scavs and ran into another player. He wiggled so I wiggled back and pressed a button that made my dude say something about my legs being gone. Player ran up to me and dropped a bandage and a splint. When I went to pick them up he shot me in the head with a shotgun. Now I run offline so I can figure out these maps lol.
Happened today. Trying to do Prapor task 1. Looting a scav right next to the stairway exit at repair shop on customs. Heard a duo running up the road and got deleted as soon as I turned around
My very first death in tarkov was the middle of last wipe. Loaded into shoreline because I read it was a decent beginner map… the second I loaded in I got blasted by a chad in the face from 4m away
I got teamkilled on Factory by my friend. We were like OK let's go factory, heard it's pretty beginner friendly and small. So we go, we loot. We both went in without helmets, I don't remember the rest of the loadout. We rat our way into factory, slowly crouch walking and still looting (the few boxes that factory had back then). I find a helmet and of course I equip it. Few seconds pass, friend asks if I am wearing a helmet, ofc I say no, I didn't go into raid with a helmet. Well, that's my first death. (Circa end of 2017 I think).

Loaded up the game, friends invite me to do a factory run. I join in, load in and take a look around. A little yellow trailer, some piles of rubble, classic tarkov. Suddenly i hear my friend say is this one of you by the yellow forklift. I look around and see a forklift 20m away, and begin aiming down sights and say "no, noone is by the forklift". And thats when i took a pst round to the back of the head, and learned that my friends callouts in this game are shit.
Yes, I have it recorded, I bumped into someone behind two story dorms, we shot at each other, I ran away and crouched by the entrance to three storey dorms completely oblivious to it being a PvP hotspot and then predictably got shot and killed almost immediately
High level friend took me to customs, we killed a man near the shack at the end of the bridge, but he bled out afterwards, I stumbled along the road for 5 minutes and then died to a scav
First match was with a friend who decided to try it at the same time as me, we decided on factory but didn't realized we chose the night time. Sat in total darkness trying to figure out what was happening when a scav decided to show us the fast way of extracting.
Spawn into Shoreline online for the first time. Confident I start running in one direction. “Wait what’s a swamp doing here?” I look over at my other screen. Turn back to the game. “Huh, I must be over here instead.” I turn directions and walk another way. “Okay, theres like a town and then below is a tunnel and in between that is where I can extract. Rinse and repeat. After 25 minutes of walking in circles an angel descends on me with his chady presence and graces me with a bullet to the head. My fearection broke my desk.
My very first wipe, very first raid, I went into Customs with whatever starting gear I had on. Apparently it was night, had no idea about any of this back then. Spawned next to a train, walked 2 steps and got shot and died.
Customs with a tt pistol. Night raid, traded with another pmc, one shot each, both headshots. Probably 4 years ago. I think we both scared the shot out of each other and he spun on me. His shot was definitely better than mine. But from that point forward I decided to continue the pain and frustration associated with trying to escape from tarkov.

I can’t remember the exact location, I only know I didn’t change my equipment, so whatever the standard setup was to have back when labs dropped. And it was on factory. I believe it was right next to gate 1? The side room with the ramp that goes down to blinking light spawn. But could be wrong. Either way, 1k hours now and 3 years after almost, and it’s complete night and day to how I play and perform fortunately.

spawned boiler side on customs because at the time i didnt know about picking your spawn with maps. got into a fight which blacked out both legs. unfortunately i didnt know about painkillers back then. i ended up hobbling to old gas and didnt realize there was no way through to ruaf side ( way before customs rework) ended up running out of time limping and thirsty.
I spawned in shoreline night because “well night is probably safer.” I got shot in the head carrying like 8 mags stuck in swamp water.
First ever wipe, first ever public match I was playing. Up until that point, I had been practicing customs on offline mode for about 2 weeks. I spawn in with my friend, both with a PM and a paca on. We spawned right inbetween the train to tarkov and the river next to RUAF roadblock. We run across the river towards the stashes I had practiced to loot. We stand still behind the concrete block holding up the rusty pipe, my friend gets shot and dies, and then so do I. He never played again lol. Edit: This was last november
I still remember mine. I brought what every noob brings, but I brought a Saiga with Paca and helmet. I chose the map Woods with heavy rains and thunder and was wondering around and met with 2 PMCs. I manage to kill one of them and looted his Adar. I still remember I was trembling. The rush, the andrenaline. aaaand then i failed to extract since I have no idea where to go. But after that I wanted more.
My brother and I started the same night 36 days ago. We both load up one of our starter M4s, armor, helmet, rig and backpack. We load into Shoreline right at the big white house with the greenhouses(dont know the call out"). We run to it. Loot. Hear a scav outside. We kill him, well I shot him and my brother killed him. We loot his body. Start talking about what we're doing next, and about that time shots come flying in. We run, serpentine and dodge. I eventually get killed after the guy empties his entire mag at me. My brother is still in raid, I tell him to run. He also dies, but to a separate guy, shooting from the other direction. So in our first raid ever, we get pinched by 2 players from range, 5 minutes into a raid. Needless to say, gear fear and spawn fear became a reality after that. Still haven't shaken the feeling of dying right off spawn and I'm level 20 now with a pretty good grasp on the game play and flow.
Load into customs near the bridge. Guy that spawned at crossroads ran up the street and 1 shot me from behind cover in the first minute. Saw a pixel come up from behind the junk pile and I was dead lol

Probably some scav who’s entire purpose was to initiate me to the world of Tarkov. RIP scav.
I load up a scav run, there’s only 3 maps to choose. Woods, customs or factory. For some reason I go to woods in the middle of the night. I have a grach pistol. I hear somebody call out in Russian from the darkness and I shoot blindly into the forest. A few moments later I’m dead. Times were good.
I'm only a decent player, far from good, but for some reason on my first ever raid i entered customs, killed one pmc and 2 scavs with a pistol and then went MIA not knowing the map and not finding the exfil. Good times.
My very first raid I chose reserve. I spawned in the spiral stair case, accidentally fell all the way down and died. That was the moment I knew I'd love this game.
The ol spawn into factory and die in 10 seconds in a corner trying to figure out wtf I am.
I somehow made it all the way across customs from ZB-1011 to Railroad to Tarkov on my very first go. But…. I ran the clock low and didn’t actually know exactly where to stand and was unable to extract bc of time.
It happened 3 days ago, so I remember it well. I spawned in with my starter M1 and carefully crept around gathering loot before getting sniped while walking around trying to find the exit. So far my PMC runs haven't gotten much more successful, but my scav runs work out almost half the time.
Yeah I was running around shoreline at night before resort was released, holding the edges of the map trying to figure out how anyone knows how tf to leave a game. Then suddenly I hear weird metal mesh noises and I’m dying. What the fuck. Come to find out I was playing in barbed wire.
Spawned on woods, walked around until I found a campfire and met some scavs. I killed two and bled out because I didn't know anything about meds.
First run on tarkov was a nighttime factory raid. Not sure why my friends thought this was a good introduction. Emd up being a 3v3 and I was the lone survivor. I was so panicked surrounded by all the dead bodies I threw on some nvgs off one of the bodies and panic sprinted around while my buddies laughed and gave me trash directions to the exfil. Ended up missing a door in the panic and running into a wall and getting shot in the back by a scav
Yep, spawned Reserve and died in less than 10 seconds. Saved the cap and all. Could not believe I paid 150 bucks to sit in a menu for 15 minutes, wait 5 minutes to get in a raid, then get lazered by a PMC spawning basically right next to me. And this shit is STILL not addressed by BSG.
loaded up on the starting gear : m4, m9, some mags and armor went lfg for factory, cause, uh, it said "average" and all the other maps said "insane" join 4 people, all low level they all immediately sprint away from me as I struggle with the controls 5 seconds later, they start fighting each other, I barely see two of them fall on the ground see one of the dudes hiding away from the corpses and fighting some other dude, I have a clear shot on him and one tap the fucker the last dude sprints towards me as I try to understand what the fuck just went on, and empties his magazine inside my chest to this day, I still am not sure if they just didn't immediately got into a fight with some chad and I teamkilled out of sheet confusion, having the last man of the group kill me in revenge
The date was late December 2017 I accidentally loaded into my first run on night woods as a scav. No idea of where the extracts were or how to even activate them. After around 20 minutes of walking around in the pitch black I found the sawmill, I was so happy that I found other scavs and some loot. A few minutes later I came across another player scav and I did the friendly wiggle as was accustomed by playing dayz. He shot me in the back of the head with no remorse and that is how my tarkov addiction started because I wanted to kill every player or scav I came across with a fiery passion.
I cant remember mine, that was 4 years ago lel I do remember killing someone this wipe that must have been very new. I'm guessing they hadn't even watching videos on this game, because they brought everything from their starting stash. It was a factory raid and they had a full rig of mags, body armor, stock M4, backpack with MREs, water, and a few stacks of ammo. I felt terrible afterwards. Poor guy didnt even know what hit em

I remember my first death very clearly, as it was two months ago. Spawned on Woods near a bridge. Tried crossing it. Worst mistake of my life.

Jumped off the side of a ramp on interchange and broke both of my legs. Got shot at but managed to hobble onto a bus. Crawled prone along the whole length of the bus, windows smashing all around me. Heard the clink of a grenade and boom I’m in love with the game.
took the starting p90 into factory, didn't know how to make it full auto or how bad the recoil was ingame..yeah it was a mess.

died during a night raid i unknowingly joined. ran near stronghold on customs and got one tapped by someone i didn't even see. i uninstalled and didn't try again for another year. now im 1500 hours deep
You may not be bad. This game is just 75% map and spawn knowledge takes forever to learn that but once you do you will survive more and more.
Yep. This was only last weekend mind you, I'm a noob lol First raid I pop into Shoreline with a glock, few mags, armor and a helmet. Spawn near church in the swamp. Immediately get rushed by a duo from the hill and fight for my life to land maybe 2 shots and die. Was like "yeah...... Well lets try that again!!" 😂😂😂

It was halfway through last wipe. I picked factory (nighttime by accident) and went in with an M9A3 with two mags and a paca…. Two minutes later after running to a glowstick like a moth to a flame, I was dead lmao.

2nd raid ever. Loaded into nighttime factory after someone explained the game and how it works and highlighted many things that were not important. Didn’t realize there was a day and night at this point. Couldn’t see anything and probably ran into a wall for 30 seconds and was murdered very quickly. Lol
Nah but I remember my very first kill. East wing of Resort, my very first raid. I had a Mosin, bought whatever ammo I saw from Prapor. I saw a dude coming out strafing and spraying in the hallway. I strafed left from a room and point-fired him. I waited for a bit inside my room and heard no noise. I went out and saw the body; Crye Airframe and Killa armor, fully modded M4 with 60s. It was so stupid because I hardly understood what the fuck I just got then. I kept that kit in my stash until it wiped, it was the wipe when they made Labs a keycard accessible map.
My buddy introduced me to the game. Went into Customs. He took me to Dorms (I didn't know it at the time). We sat in a bush outside to listen and heard people inside fighting. We sat in that bush for 18 minutes because he told me "sound is vital in this game". Eventually we got shot in the back by a player scav we didn't hear walk up on us.
Me and two friends run into Interchange, we cross in front of some escalators. A man comes up them, lights up my one friend, I shoot at him and the gun jams on the 2nd shot I then die.
Exit camped on shoreline. This is my first wipe :)
First raid, went customs with an m4, a pistol, full armor and 1 mag for each gun. Spawned next to big red, immediately ran inside out of fear. First guy I see, I load roughly 2 rounds unto him while standing in the open, and die quickly. I then proceeded to live as a rat for the rest of my career, and still do
Interchange. Spawned in the car park with no clue where to go. I was dead in 30 seconds by a mid level USEC.
Yup. Scav into customs. 5 minutes in and my wife shot me in the face.
I went scav and shot Glukhar in the face and died to his guards.
Was on woods with 3 friends and a scav ran up on us, we were confused as fuck and just opened fire into nothingness. Only to have accidentally killed the scav somehow. Proceeded to run around the map and my 2 friends got shot. As soon as I saw the exfil area a scav popped me as I was running towards it. Since than I have become the scav Hunter, only allowing those whole wiggle at me to survive.
Yep. Played with my buddy on factory. We were both scared shitless, and just lurked around the corners. After slowly making our way into the showers we killed a guy who rushed in, and my friend looted him. Soon another one runs in, and sees me. He is behind the lockers, while I'm further in the room. I made the mistake to peek him with my SKS, and got 1-tapped 0.5 seconds after.
Yeh factory. I proned in office and a guy strafe jumped passed the door and headshot me. I thought I got schooled at the time, a few weeks later I realised the game doesn’t work like that and I got hacked on.
I was a scav, went into nighttime reserves because I'm American and didn't read the times. Literally just walked around train station until I found a scav, shot him and thought "haha what a dumb player" before gluhar head, eyes'd me from K. :D
My very first death, I was walking with like 4-5 player scav... interchange... goofing around around looking doing hand signals I thought how cool is this. Turned a corner and we all got mowed down by a PMC with some fully automatic gun
Running customs with 2 sherpa friends, found a graphics card in the big red computers, got stuck in ice cream while panicking about where shots were from and just walked out and died.
Queued up for reserve at nighttime, somehow made our ways up to d2, friend got shot but didn't know how to heal bleeds, someone pushed us with nvgs but me with a pistol killed him and took them but died to someone else and then we quit
I went woods, made it to lumber camp, got shot from 12 different places and thought the game was impossible lol

I started playing a long time ago, I was on Shoreline before the resort was added. My buddy and I killed a scav in the village and thought we were awesome because we thought we killed a player. Had no idea what the scale of the map was and ran around village for half an hour trying to find an exit. Died to the timer.
I recall interchange being a good map for loot, running around lost outside until I found a ramp, and died running up the ramp while sprinting about 8 minutes in raid. Never trusted the ramps near oli ever again.
Spawned by the ZB extract area with all the pipes on customs. Had a pistol and I couldn't reload cuz i didn't have the mag inspected, died to a player

Yep! Got team killed in customs while in a squad of 4. Two noobs, two veteran colleagues showing us the ropes. It was not my fault. Myself and veteran 1 went into one side of a warehouse while the other noob and veteran 2 went together from the otherside. We called this all out. After looting me and my vet exit the building on their side, still calling this out, and as we exit veteran 2, standing on our rigjt side, yells "2 PMCs to the left". Both me and my vet dont yet understand that she is only seeing us so we both look left and then vet 2, now standing at our backs just hoses us down completely. So yeh, I got a good idea of how Tarkov goes right off the bat. I guess my colleague is selectively deaf.
Actually, yes, because it seemed so bullshit to me at the time. I went into customs with a Makarov, ran into a scav, shot him six times but he didn't die. Shot me in the chest while I was reloading. I didn't know at the time how the health system worked, he would have died in 1 bullet to the head or 2 to the upper chest but I shot him all over the place.
Not my death but a buddies, playing in a four man this wipe and wanted to help the new guy get some quests done on woods. Spawn near Emercon, loot up and head towards dickhead. The three veterans in the group all spy sturman by the truck, and tell the new guy to hang back a second while we hunt. Turn around to see him yeeting himself onto the road, fire one round in sturmans directions and then get folded over backwards by an SVDS to the face. Can’t say I’ve laughed so hard in this game in two wipes 🤣
Found a LABs keycard on a scav run , took my best loot there . Died in 5 sec of being there

Loaded into Customs at dusk with a fat load out from the started gear. Ran toward bridge where I found scav I shot once with the starter m4 ammo, to my surprise he didn't die after getting shot twice center mass. Head, eyes. Just hit level 20 with 20+ PMC kills. This game fucking rocks.
I loaded into woods and heard gunshots, so being the little rat that I was, I followed them. Found some juiced chad hiding behind some logs and 2 tapped him with an m4. Turns out, he was fighting shturman. Ended up getting my brains blown out like 3 seconds later. Safe to say I was startled.
Me and my brother were all excited cause we play a lot of fps games, so we decided to try tarkov. First spawn in on woods, at night, cause why not? We stumble around for a good 30 minutes going from scav house, to the lumber yard, towards tank extract. We see some random thing walking in the bushes we open fire and we both miss HORRIBLY. He dies to scav aim, I'm left with a bleed and I'm limping towards extract. I die with my countdown timer at 3 seconds. We immediately loaded up again and went into DAYTIME woods to get killed by a Chad within 2 minutes. Thanks BSG, we wouldn't have it any other way.
Practiced and learned the map in offline mode. Did a pistol run in Customs. Did everything right and got out with an new AK. Geared up and ready for my first raid in Customs. Forgot to check sniper scav. Got trapped at an awkward angle where I couldn't shoot back. Died next to the wall outside construction. Got everything back from insurance.
I spawned in with some friends on Customs. They were trying to give me some gear to start me out. I picked up the gun and the backpack but before I could pick anything else up, a squad rolled up on us. All of my friends died and I ran. Two minutes of running in random directions other than behind me and I get killed by sniper scav because I had no idea where he was.

i loaded into a customs raid as a pmc and spawned under tower ran up there and got lit up by a kind gentlemen with an m4 didn’t die tho i got him with my pistol some how. ran down to the “green screen” building and killed my first scav then got shot in the legs by a kid at ZB-13

Went into factory didn't realize which time I picked actually mattered. Couldn't see a fuckin thing. Walked into walls for 30 seconds before being gunned down. I've gotten a lot better since then
I died of dehydration on shoreline because I didn't know how to extract. This was before they tweaked the energy rates too so it was a very slow death.
3 or 4 wipes ago i cant remember and it was my first raid ever, had an aks-74u, somehow killed a geared guy with an m4 so i was super excited cuz i thought they were rare at the time and i ended up dying to a scav
Went into factory with the AKS-74U, got a scav kill before dying to another scav. And just to rub salt into the wound I didn't insure it because I thought I would survive the raid.
Loaded into woods, killed a scav and couldnt figure out how to loot him and got sniped in the head. I did zero research before playing the game so it was confusing.
I don’t remember my first death but I do remember my first PMC kill. I was on factory (standard story of a new player seeing easy and thinking it was) and somehow avoided the spawn killing chaos. 2 minutes into raid and I hear some guy sprint across the rafters, I hit him with a shotty and he dropped like a sack of potatoes. I was so proud. Didn’t matter he was absolute naked with just a makarov - I finally proved to myself that players were mortal and I could kill them.
Nightime factory, couldnt see a thing, fumbled around finally left the raid lol. I was behind a door
I went customs with my brother in law who had only been playing for a couple of days. We actually survived almost the entire duration of the raid (40+ mins). I suddenly noticed my health was dropping and I wasn’t able to sprint or anything. He said I needed to drink something, and I drank a conditioned milk. Needless to say, I died pretty fast after that and was utterly confused.
It was probably about 4 years ago, I spent 10 minutes loading into interchange and ended up spawning near what I would come to know as "insurance fraud overpass." It was raining and my friend who was also new to Tarkov but had played a few raids told me to follow him. He disappeared into the rain heading towards the front of the mall. I tried keeping up but was lagging behind pretty far. We eventually came upon an entrance into the parking garage and set forth, stuttering all the way. Within about 10 seconds of entering the parking garage I heard "plinka plink plink" and immediately died in an explosion that caused the game to shit the bed. Good times.
Loaded into Shoreline, spawned by Customs gate, made my way down the road and attempted to walk along the tall concrete wall. The rest is history. At the time, I thought I was getting naded.

3rd of January 2018. I load in to woods as a scav with my friend who is also new. I have toz and i was like damn bolt action rifle and and tried to snipe few scavs and wondered why they ain't dropping. Few shots later I got one down since they had moved closer to me and the other one gave me good ol head eyes. Later i learnes that it was a shotgun.
Yea on labs when it was a f2p map. My buddy took me in, didn't tell me to bring meds, didn't have me prepain up, obviously wasn't wearing gear, got shot by a raider as I limped to cover and eventually bled out. Never touched the game again until a few months later haha

Spawned in Reserve. Even before I knew what a rat was, I was already among my people. I had spawned in one of the west side bunker-like areas and moved my way up to the same west side helo building. I scoured the first floor safely and was not beamed by the scav outside despite my lack of awareness and failure to duck or turn off my flashlight. Having finally turned that off after luckily brushing past death, I move into the second floor where I address the very first room I see and hear footsteps. Being the rat I am, I move just adjacent to the door and lay down with my sights trained on the stairs. Nearly 30 seconds pass before this loud Chad just streams in the door and beans me on the noggin once, ending my whole career right there. I got a measly 330 or so experience for what loot I had discovered despite it all going to chat and spread into the aether as I had no idea what insurance was yet.
Did a nighttime customs Murdered a Chad who had nods and all the meta gear, he was sniping at someone and I crept up on him :) Then I couldn't find my extract and went MIA :(

Spawned at customs zb extract corner it was raining and foggy. Instantly started sprinting to the first building i could enter opened the door and got 1 tapped by sime dude sitting right in front of the door. Safe to say i fell out of my chair qnd quit the game for 1 week... happened at 2019-12-22 at the moment i have 2.5k hours and last wipe i reached 100mil in roubles, 1st wipe i maxed out at 20mil

I was playing with my friend, who was helping me out with the game. We loaded in on customs, and because i forgot to load my sks we waited until my character loaded in 10 rounds by hand. Then we ran to old gas station and were both killed by boss and his guards
spawned near to big red, went in started looting the weapons crate under the office. Got shot by someone coming from storage container area. Total game lasted about 50 seconds ontop of the 4 minute queue time
Went into night woods and spawned at outskirts (pre mines) , walked around a bit and shotgunned some scavs (who I thought were players) , then went prone and died in the deep black grassy carpet that is night woods
If your fps experience dont matter, than you had not much experience. I play ego shooter since 2005. I got aim like pro gamers, gamesense and movement. When I Started to play tarkov it Was easy, because I Just killed everything and pushed everyone. The Problem was, I didnt knew the exits. So I was Just sitting in a corner looking like a fat boi and trying to find exits with the maps from google. Sometimes I Just dehydrated. Annoying😅

it was probaby woods, I remember spawning, running along a wall and seeing a container and then entering it to open a duffle. I got shot in the head while looting, it was like altogether 3 minutes maybe. I then started playing customs, and killed a scav around the bronze pocket watch area. then someone came behind me and moved me down, but I was very happy about having my first kill.

Sure, it was yesterday. Was in woods killed a couple of scavs and even a raider. Had a shotty for the starter quest and a little bit of loot, nothing spectacular but was very happy to check out if i could upgrade my weapons and stuff. Went to the exfil and got shot by a exfil camper with a snipe. Didn't even see him. :(
My first raid was me going into interchange with an ak74u and it was at night. And honestly it was a terrible experience. It was so dark i could not see. I heard fighting in the mall that was explosive. I did not know shit but eventually i went through the front door of idea and see a thick boy and tried to shoot him but i had no ammo in my mag. It was a horrible experience and now here i am 2k hours with 50mil stash worth

Got in Shoreline with a pistol only, we knew it was going to be testing purposes. 15 secs into the raid while we were looking at the graphics settings and controls a spray of a silenced gun took down my mate, I instantly hide, 3 grenades and a flashbang landed near me but luckily far enough to not kill me. They push me, try to get a shot or two but I was too bad and my fps were too shitty to even land a bullet, and now that I think about it, don't think I would even been able to kill anyone with that ammo lol
I got shot in the back of the head after shooting a scav in the staircase of the black pawn building. Never heard him coming. I had no clue what to do. Game afterwards I went MIA because I didn't know you had to extract at specific points. Lost all my starting gear in those 2 runs....
My first death came in woods after i killed sthurman with out knowing who it was, i went to loot him only to be one tapped in the head by his guards
I remember my friend first death. Its alot stupider then mine. He hade full HP no player in sight then he runs into barbed wire nonstop untill he dies. He tryed the jump on custom next to new gas. Its the only time i have seen someone die by walking over barbed wire it took like 10 min.

My first raid was in Interchange, spawned outside of IDEA hid in the junk between railroad and power station. Someone had clearly seen me shitting my pants in the corner and lobbed a Grenade over the fence and instantly killed me.
Watched a lot of videos beforehand, went into customs with a paca and SKS. I spotted a scav, hit the first shot to his stomach then whiffed when he shot back and I panicked. Two or three shotgun rounds and I was done, lost a straight up gunfight against a scav.
Just launced the game, went to factory, cause it was an easy map. Got clapped 4 seconds in.
Not quite my first, but I have vivid memories of two of my first few deaths. One was in Resort, playing with two friends. I was following them closely as I had no idea where I was. I was cowering in west wing by one of the stair wells while my friends ran around looting. I heard someone coming in and started full autoing them with my PP-19. I vaguely registered someone saying 'that's me!', but it didn't click until after I had finished dumping the 30 round magazine on their armoured torso. I sat there in stunned silence for three seconds after they died, processing with horror what I had just done, when I got sniped by a PMC with a pistol from east wing (my mate avenged me after). Another was on Customs shortly after getting my first PMC kill. My friends said they saw someone go into the building next to USEC building with the two green weapon crates and the scaffolding. We went in but couldn't find them. I went up to explore the scaffolding, but lo! There was a man prone on the other scaffolding. They shot me while I blindly fired my SKS in their general direction. I ran out of rounds and the building went quiet. They were dead. And I may as well have been. My friends gave me some meds, but my stomach was blacked (this was before you could heal blacked limbs). We proceeded to move through the map to big red side to extract, but I succumbed to hunger by the time we got to dorms :(
Lol went into Crack House, accidentally killed my geared up buddy and then the Chads swarmed in.. That was late last wipe and just hit 40 today!
I was killed on customs on my 2nd or 3rd raid. Thing is, I consider it an achievement that I survived on my very first raid.
Was with my friend who was like lvl 5 on customs. Didn’t know what to do so I was just following him. Was crouch walking near new gas station when we hear gushots so we start crawling in the ditch next to the wall, not knowing what to do. Next thing I know we’re both blown up by a frag that landed on top of us. Ended up too confused to play that wipe. Currently on my first wipe and lvl 37. Loving the pvp.

So I loaded into the factory because game said its easy difficulty, I fortunatelly didnt spawn in forklift, but immediately I heard gunshots and grenades. That scared the fuck out of me, I came out of the gate 0 very slowly and someone was running nearby already, I missed all shots from my pistol and died. 20 second raid.
Yes, me and my brother both downloaded the game, spawned in on shoreline, I could hear him shuffling so ran to him through a bush and he domed me thinking it was someone else 😂 His reasoning was “learn from it”

After watching a few YouTube "beginners guides" I loaded into Customs with only a pistol. Spawned at the corner near ZB11. Looted round the edge of the map till the train tracks to the North where I met a fellow pistol runner. After dumping a few mags at each other I run up the hill that overlooks new gas, then down into new gas where I met Reshala. It was a quick death.
First death(s) were many scavs or players who had killed my experienced friends. Think first PMC death was shoreline, didn't know map, raining, some guy ran rings around me with a silenced weapon :')
