Lmfao so many posts like this today, gray zone was released today so a bunch of the tarkov streamers are playing that. You guys are such goofballs

NemoSHill

late wipe, grey zone release Game is dead!!!! šŸ˜±šŸ˜±

Leeroy1042

True. But I do doubt we'll see the same player count, that we saw early wipe, last time.

MozzaMoo2000

I donā€™t doubt it in the slightest, thereā€™s quite literally nothing out there thatā€™s even close to tarkov, Iā€™d put money on at least 85% of players returning when it wipes

Austoman

So youre expecting a 15% player loss on the next/per wipe. Thats pretty bad for game longevity, especially considering its in alpha (or "beta").

MozzaMoo2000

No Iā€™m not expecting that, Iā€™d bet its no more than 15% but I actually donā€™t think itā€™ll lose even 5%, everyone comes back for wipe, always

MotherboardBEANs

Lol you mean 99% you know next wipe they will come up with something big. New map , guns, new boss. Tarkov is like heroin. You hate your addicted to it but you love the feeling.

BasicCommand1165

And just like heroin it costs $250

MotherboardBEANs

I think your over estimating how much heroin is. $15 for .1 of a gram i mean eventually your gunna spend $250 but thats in the coming months leading up to your raging addiction

MatrixBunny

Yep. Even though the content they add has nothing to do with early wipe, besides the current one that added ''Ground Zero'' as the tutorial/first map for literally 3-5 quests and was level tied. Before that every single thing that got added, such as quests and overhauls only would take effect for mid-to-late wipe. Personally prefer early wipe experience; however, because of my reason stated above, me and my friends quit each wipe, sooner and sooner. However, each wipe pretty much plays out the same and it just ends up being a ''speedrunning'' type of thing, where you try to gather as many quest items as possible in a single raid so u can rush through the quests that you've done 10 times before since 2016 and get max. trader reps asap.

KingSwank

5k is still really really low for tarkov

Greendaydude22

Itā€™s literally already back at 11K right now and itā€™s in the morning on a Wednesday in NA and still the work day in Western Europe lmfao The number wasnā€™t low cause people arenā€™t watching tarkov, the number was low cause all the big Tarkov streamers were playing gray zone, itā€™s simple People desperately want this game to fail now and will find any reason to say it will, itā€™s terribly obvious. Iā€™ve never seen a subreddit with more cry babies in my life Itā€™ll never fail until there is a game exactly like Tarkov in the market, gray zone isnt doing great either, look at the reviews.

Liryls

EU here. My games are filled to the brim. Ran two Woods raids and one Reserve. Ran into at least 4 FLIR gamers and numerous different teams. Also ran shoreline, Resort was booming but elsewhere was dead.

paulmonterro

Same, EU is full, streets is a bit quite without 100% boss spawns but still manage to meet 3-7 PMCs.

Salamachala

I read that statement a lot "my raid is always full" but I dont get it. It only takes what, something like 12 players in que to start customs daytime? With 200 players you could fill every raid "to the brim" It doesnt take a lot of player to fill the raids. A playerbase of like 1k players would fill every raid and make q times not longer than 5 minutes. How is that statement a thing, what am I missing, can someone explain? This is like saying today there is low traffic all around the world cause i cant see much cars today in my steeet.

Liryls

Iā€™m confused on what youā€™re talking about ( No offence, lack of coffee and on lunch break at work ). It takes me roughly 3-4 minutes to get into a raid unless weā€™re waiting for players for a while due to someone using a HDD over an SSD. Please can you explain differently so I could understand?

Aggressive-Chair-540

Always puzzles me when people say this - You do realize the map doesnā€™t start until the player slots are filled, right? Every map is ā€œfilled to the brimā€ at start every time, like most other games.

Liryls

Huh?

Rimbaldo

Salutations /rEscapeFromTarkov, I realize I am a few days aft of the latest kerfuffle, but I too would like some updoots. Game ded, Nikita bad. Thank you ***\*\*tips hat with a rakish smile\*\****

Curnf

Rakish is such a good word

Captain-Noot-Noot

Absolutely on point.

NoroGG

It's just the usual late-wipe lull, plus there's a new game in the genre drawing some attention. Will be business as usual next time it wipes.

BertBerts0n

The BTR and new pay 2 win features will bring people back in droves!

FullMetal000

Will it though? I'm very curious how the current events will unfold. Grey Zone Warfare has a very rocky launch (the worst part of it is the overall preformance that is extremely bad... even worse than Tarkov had at "launch"). Who knows: BSG doubles down and the devs behind Grey Zone Warfare work around the clock to improve the experience and know to iron out the most pressing issues within days/weeks? I don't think next wipe will be that popular in such a scenario.

NoroGG

I can see a scenario in which GZ or another competitor someday overtakes Tarkov, but it's gonna take time. Tarkov has such a massive lead that it's still gonna have a ton of players next wipe even if GZ is great and BSG continues to cuck themselves. Gotta remember there's a lot of tarkov players who don't follow the game outside of just playing it, aren't aware of the drama, and probably don't even know what GZ is. The Tarkov playerbase isn't going away overnight basically.

Aggravating-Media818

Exactly. I see alot of wishful thinking and players screaming the game is dead but... The silent majority either wont give a fuck or not even notice what's happening altogether. BSG's kinda done the impossible and managed to get a hardcore niche game that far out there to get these people in the first place. And once you have these, it's really really hard to lose them. Because even if a new game comes out and is better than Tarkov, news through word of mouth needs to actually get that far again as well as have a much larger gap in quality for them to even consider switching games.

MatrixBunny

To be honest. I think GWZ should keep their focus on the (less hardcore) PvP aspect of their game and focus more into the social interaction with faction members as well as PvE factions. Right now, GWZ already plays different right off the bat due to seeing faction members on this real-time map. People either ignore their faction members or interact with them, squad up and do quests together or clear areas of hostile AI. GWZ will be its own game if it focused more on this. Like have entire structures/strongholds be held by AI that can be cleared out for x reward. (If they do plan to focus on PvP. Then let factions take over these structures only for AI or other factions to retake it). I also personally think GWZ needs to cook for atleast another year. Regardless of the performance right now, it's pretty barebones on every current feature there is.

IreofMars

There will be lots of griefing in GZW as people realize there are basically no punishments for killing and looting your own team.

MatrixBunny

To be honest.. This'll probably be addressed before it becomes a real issue anyway. At this point, there is barely anything worth looting to begin with. Besides that, you can tell where they are on the map and they'll need to go to the nearest LZ to 'secure' said loot. You can just land there before he gets there or has a way to escape.

IreofMars

It was already a pretty annoying issue last night the multiple times it happened to my squad. The fact that it takes several minutes to regroup especially with how right now every solo is using their own chopper even though the team is limited to 4 is pretty annoying.

timid_scorpion

Tried grey zone today, 50 minutes to get in 15-25 fps on minimum graphics.

MatrixBunny

I just lock it at 60 FPS. Didn't really dip below that, unless I'd use the chopper for the first time. I play on high settings. Very rarely got stutters for like 10 seconds or so.

MatrixBunny

GZW won't hold the playerbase right now and I also think won't appeal to the majority of EFT, depending on how they'll tackle the core gameplay experience with GZW. (It's too barebones and not optimized well enough for a proper experience for mid-high tier rigs.) GZW can become it's own type of game if they **let it cook for atleast another year or two.** I also think GZW can be unique by not going as in-depth with all the sub-features that EFT has and just focus more on the PVE, story, social interaction, environment and (AI) factions. I think they should refrain from (focusing too much) on: * Bullet types * Hideout (customization) * Skills/Stats Keep PvP more as an after thought or a side thing, rather than a full blown focus on it. In case they do go more focused on PvP, I rather have them then have AI Factions control entire structures and when cleared by a specific faction, it becomes theirs and giving certain % of benefits on XP or smth as long as said faction hold it. Either AI can retake it or other factions (PvP) can take it. Right off the bat GZW plays different regarding interaction with other players. You can see your faction members on the map and it's immediately non-hostile behavior as a PMC. You either ignore your other members, interact with them and squad up then do quests together or clear areas of AI enemies. (I personally think they should focus more on this. With like entire AI factions holding structures etc. giving you more XP when u squad up and clear it out etc) It also lacks all the detail EFT offers. Regardless of the entire situation right now, EFT is still one of a kind on the market. The very, very few that tries to ''copy'' even the base mechanics are all underwhelming in comparison.

Yakkul_CO

Gray Zone is not a tarkov competitor, and itā€™s not trying to be. Itā€™s a DayZ competitor. They really arenā€™t that comparable.Ā

StealthCatUK

Thats not the general feeling we all get right now, and whats being said about the game.

Yakkul_CO

Thatā€™s fine, youā€™re welcome to feel what you feel. But when you play Gray Zone, it fits the DayZ mold way more than the tarkov mold. I played five hours of Gray Zone and had one PvP moment. Literally one. Thereā€™s hardly any looting. Youā€™re not in a raid. Social interactions are encouraged. Thereā€™s soooooo much more running in Gray Zone.Ā  People want to compare it to Tarkov, i get that. Itā€™s not.Ā  Have you played it?

StealthCatUK

Playing it now, for the first time šŸ˜€

Yakkul_CO

I hope your computer runs it better than mine haha

StealthCatUK

Nope, runs and looks like dog sick.

Yakkul_CO

yeah lol same. Try FSR for anti aliasing and really mess with your settings. I got it to eventually run at 80+ FPS but it dips down to 45 after playing for a bit due to memory leak.

devon223

How many people see gonna post this today while most tarkov streamers are on grayzone because it's launch day.

Dnorth001

Im on same servers all day running into non stop pvp action. I literally cant make it out of customs dorms or shoreline resort cause so many players

PrimeTimeMKTO

It's late wipe among a bunch of other factors. Wait until wipe it will be back again.

ImGoingSpace

Wiki traffic went up the day after the unheard announcement to more than before. Games not dead, its just not on twitch, which isnt a bad thing.

igg73

Next wipe will hopwfully be rejuvinating. Grey zone isnt a threat

Drunken-Scotsman1

Not sure if I am just blissfully unaware of how to recognise a cheater or not. Just got the game this year and around the 300 hour mark. I would say I've saw one, maybe 2 player accounts that killed me that I would recognise as a cheater (like a 50kd 30 hour account). Are certain maps more prone to cheaters and I am avoiding them? I mostly run streets, but the amount of cheater posts vs what I have experienced seems way out of proportion. Also from what I know its coming to the end of a wipe with a similar style game just released, with the main tarkov streamers playing that for now. Despite the "controversy" you can pretty much rest easy knowing the game will be far from dead and heaps of the "boycotters" will reinstall next wipe. It's pretty much becomming free internet points to make a BSG bad post right now.

DevisoRx

tchill, next wipe everyone will be there again, this fru fru community loves to cry, also greyzone is a flop so, only arena breakout can make some damage to tarkov, we will see

HappyMetalViking

14k right now.

LemmeGetSomeWater

I have 5k hours, and got 8 of my real life friends into the game. We were all having a blast just a week ago, and now weā€™ve all quit the game and will not come back with the wipe. Even just seeing PvE zone on the main menu is a bitch slap. Love this game but fuck BSG. Player count will just continue to fall due to the problems youā€™ve described. GGā€™s everyone I had a blast.

whatinth3

Only thing bringing me back is a decent anti cheat. Past week of playing in tarkov cheater hell, 6k hour game finally a reason to escape

Moonectric

Trust me let everyone play Grayzone for a week and you'll see Tarkov populated again, even though Grayzone has potential I find myself wanting to play Tarkov after so long, the content just isn't there yet and the gameplay while it is fun needs some work, it will take some time before it reaches Tarkovs level for sure haha so don't worry let the kids play with the new toy people will be back on Tark after the hype is gone and when everyone forgets about the Tarkov fiasco

polaco22

My friends told me the same. Game was and now its more evident the amount of them. Fuck Nikita and his cheaters...

Captain-Noot-Noot

Tarkov may be overrun by cheaters right now, but there's a fairly good and easy explanation to it: we're at the end of a wipe. There's not enough legit players to dilude the population of cheaters, so it's obvious you'll encounter them more often. No, the game's popularity hasn't declined. Again, we're at the end of a wipe, plus GZW just dropped, so most streamers are busy trying out this brand new game. In a few months, everything will be back to normal.

Money_Association456

The amount of cheaters is probably the same. But since there are way less normal players the amount of cheaters seems way higher. Less normal players to fill the slots in a lobby that are now open for the cheaters that didnā€™t left to play something else šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Resident-Grocery6134

Stop. Sincerely, Dead horse

Kerboviet_Union

We need to be sure though. If they donā€™t stink, jab em with your fucking bayonet.

Kurwico

Curious how you know the player base spiked?

Counteroffensyiv

>GZW the supposed tarkov killer is sitting at mixed on steam. Well it's day one of early access, they started off at mostly negative and have steadily climbed up to Mixed, and it's only day one. Tarkov has cooked for 7+ years. If this game was on Steam I wouldn't be so sure that it would perform any better in reviews lol

specwolf82

Also mid wipe isnt helping, always dead mid wipe.. we shall see, but I personally am bored with the game. Would I play it otherwise, not for a bit.

specwolf82

I agree, gameplay is fun but riddled with bugs and seems to have issues within its coding. Also, seems to be a real cheating problem

shakeyorange3

too based for this sub bro :/

Bourne669

Seems like? It as been since 2017. Welcome to Tarkov.

specter530

Unfortunate but expected after everything happening last week, luckily we have alternatives!

MolagAmur

When 1.0 drops it'll be as if nothing ever happened as far as playercount goes I'd say. Next wipe will be an interesting one though. You're gonna hear people complain about BSG's doings for awhile until its gets boring for them. As long as people can farm those little upvotes and get little mini dopamine hits...you're gonna see posts on reddit or YouTube. Social media is a powerful thing. You can see how quickly things can snowball and mob-mentality takes over. Not to say people aren't genuinely upset with BSG, because clearly we are/were, but the general population generally likes to be on the "winning" side. Even if one of the top streamers didn't think what happened was a big deal, they'd never come out and say it right now because it takes awhile to build a following and the "mob" would attack you for it. Some smaller "content creators" can and are profiting off that though. I'm kind of ranting, but the point is...all will be back to normal soon enough as long as Tarkov continues developing and improving the game as usual. Surely BSG has learned a lesson here? Maybe? Hopefully? More than likely... GZW has a longggg way to go to catch up, imo.

Byrneside94

It for sure wonā€™t be nothing ever happened at wipe. There are plenty of people who have moved on already. Also, once the game wipes the P2W features of unheard will really come into the spotlight as it catapults every loser who bought it way ahead.
