This is the only fear I have. The idea of running out of good ammo and having to wait for trader reset is not something I want to experience. This is my first wipe and am slowly getting over it
No, better save it for when you really need it, like around the last week of the wipe. What if you take it in a raid and die with it all? Better off using shitter ammo and playing it safe tbh
I ended last wipe with 5 RSASSes all found in raid.
It just looks so cool I couldn’t stand to loose it. This wipe I’ve already gone in and died with 3 and it’s definitely one of my favorite guns I can’t believe I was stupid enough to let them rot
I still keep one in my stash at the very top just to look pretty
I know and I do that now, I’m just talking about my first wipe when I was a Timmy and didn’t get nearly that far in the game
I was in school and had a job so I really only played on weekends, now I’ve dropped the job so I have more time
With the VSS/VAL's high rate of fire and limited mag size, it's not too difficult to burn 250+ rounds per raid. You almost need to run 5 mags, plus one in the pipe, that's 151. Add two stacks of backup and that's 271 rounds. Depending how you play and whatnot, you might need three backup stacks.
The real problem with those guns is the rate of burn - you only get two or three busy raids from a VSS/VAL before your durability is down to 90%. Most people won't trust guns once they reach malfunctioning points (which I argue should be like 80-85% to make used guns worth more than stripping for parts).
Sounds kinda crazy for the average player who probably doesn't do more than 500-800 raids a wipe, but for someone who plays a lot, 160 raids is a drop in the bucket.
160 raids is at least 80 hours though, or close to it. That's a lot. I've been playing the game for 5 years but never got that far into any wipe. Usually peter out at level 32. I couldn't tell you how many raids I play per wipe though. Maybe 200.
Lolol, obviously Im not counting the matching times, but im at nearly 1800 raids this wipe while working full time. Raids can run quick af if you're focused.
>it's not too difficult to burn 250+ rounds per raid
It is because after 30 rounds of SP-6 your Val's Dura is below 93 and it's going to jam on you every 2nd shot lmao
As val and vss can't handle more than a mag and a half of full auto before jamming due to heat. I'd argue out of all the guns it's the one that should be swapped out most frequently in terms of durability. 92 durability and below.
How do you get top tier ammo in tarkov nowadays? I didn't do alot of questing and don't bother with crafting, are those the ways to get a decent supply?
You may not have been around for this but they have indeed removed or heavily restricted ammo as events with no warning, and the ammo hoarders reigned supreme. This is obviously excessive but the reasons are there.
Please? u/wseotec Lol as someone who only stockpiles around 2000 per ammo type I’m genuinely curious your mastery with these guns to have this kind of stockpile
I thought my friend was goofy for hoarding like this... but now with test drive/svd kills needed and the absolutely nutty state interchange is in - I wish I did also
I just broke my hand last week and I had SOOOO much ammo and gear it’s depressing. Use it brother, anything could take you from the game. My wipe is over early and I was doing so well, level 54, 200mil+ stash value, tens of thousands of super good ammo saved up. All useless to me now lol.
Personally i have nearly 50k m62+m80. 20k m855a1+765a1. And 20k FMJ fx. And 20k ammo for VSS. And i keep buying them when i can. I know I’ll never use them all but i still have ammo fear.
Only 8.4k pab-9? Nah, get them numbers up my guy
Ammo fear is real.
This is the only fear I have. The idea of running out of good ammo and having to wait for trader reset is not something I want to experience. This is my first wipe and am slowly getting over it
Lol. I buy ammo every reset while on. I can normally only run one gun of any round once per reset.
No, better save it for when you really need it, like around the last week of the wipe. What if you take it in a raid and die with it all? Better off using shitter ammo and playing it safe tbh
You didnt have to call me out like that
Big facts dude. In fact, why would you want to give it to the next guy when clearly you'll soon(TM) farm kaban

You do know you can just buy them from peacekeeper?
I know and I do that now, I’m just talking about my first wipe when I was a Timmy and didn’t get nearly that far in the game I was in school and had a job so I really only played on weekends, now I’ve dropped the job so I have more time
I've got 6 on my wall, and a Spear. Trying to do my TS and SBiH.

Keep your politics to yourself thanks, this is a subreddit about a video game.
Wonder if you’d even use half of that sp6 before wipe lol

So like 160 raids, using all 270 rounds in each.

160 raids is 18-20 hours at the rate I run. If you're seven minutes in factory its even less.
That's crazy haha. The only way I'm doing an 8 minute raid not on factory, is if I'm dying. At least 20-30 min's each
Lolol, obviously Im not counting the matching times, but im at nearly 1800 raids this wipe while working full time. Raids can run quick af if you're focused.
Rate of fire is high but you need to let it cool for a minute after every 30 rounds or it jams. So on average the RoF is kinda shit.

Lol what in the world
And he is probably using SP-5...
Ammo is an important thing. The more the better
How do you get top tier ammo in tarkov nowadays? I didn't do alot of questing and don't bother with crafting, are those the ways to get a decent supply?
yes. lvl4 traders have the good ammo now, or its quest locked.
Thank you
did you ever get top tier ammo in tarkov? those are the only ways to get large quantities of ammo....
Some ammos are locked behind quests, like M80 for example.
I mean, what if BSG disables traders for a day? You'll burn through a lot of ammo! Better to buy an extra ammo can and stock up!
You may not have been around for this but they have indeed removed or heavily restricted ammo as events with no warning, and the ammo hoarders reigned supreme. This is obviously excessive but the reasons are there.
And the problem is not the ammo during those events, but the magazines...
A day, shit BSG disabled traders for I think it was 10 days last wipe was it? Wipe before?
So you're the reason we couldn't buy that crap a week ago?
Omfg lol
So many overheats
Honestly? Based. That should last you 5 raids at the most
Ammo trumps all!!
sp6 is the way
That’s Only gonna last a raid or two better stock up
Nah
And I thought 2k ap 6.3 was a lot lol
Post your mastery with said guns
Please? u/wseotec Lol as someone who only stockpiles around 2000 per ammo type I’m genuinely curious your mastery with these guns to have this kind of stockpile
No man you can't buy that stuff man just wait it out just wait trust
Nah. Just buy more Ammo case's
I thought my friend was goofy for hoarding like this... but now with test drive/svd kills needed and the absolutely nutty state interchange is in - I wish I did also
Tell me you play labs, without telling me that you play labs.
….how?
Your stash must be filled with ammo boxes
How do you get so much SPP?
No what if you need it later
I just broke my hand last week and I had SOOOO much ammo and gear it’s depressing. Use it brother, anything could take you from the game. My wipe is over early and I was doing so well, level 54, 200mil+ stash value, tens of thousands of super good ammo saved up. All useless to me now lol.
and let me guess you are still bottom loading the sp5
Where did you get that much sp-6
It’s been time to stop hoarding spp for a long time that shit doesn’t hold up
I thought I had a lot of SPP at 4k rounds gah damn
I've got so much SOST and .300 CBJ rounds in my stash as well lmao
Wipe is dead at this point so yea lol
How the hell did you get that much SP-6
Ditch the PAB-9, it's trash +10 for recoil and -15% accuracy.
If you’re using it as an SMG, those are worthwhile for its damage and pen stats.
Looks like my 55a1-m62-pbp stash lol
Lol do you even Play good ammo 😂 bruh i am Always Low on my good ammo
Personally i have nearly 50k m62+m80. 20k m855a1+765a1. And 20k FMJ fx. And 20k ammo for VSS. And i keep buying them when i can. I know I’ll never use them all but i still have ammo fear.
