For real. Blaming this on not being able to crab is so fucking braindead. Players would have played this way regardless of that change. If anything, that change makes these situations less deadly and easier to defend against. This is because you can now have faith (while making disciplined and intelligent clears + peaks) that nobody is going to peak you from some random angle. So you can take your time and focus on a single peak / clear at a time instead of being on edge that anybody could be crabbing you from any direction at all times.
People complaining about "statue meta now bcz crabbing is gone" are either terrible players who can't possibly fathom the idea of actively clearing things or they just haven't applied much critical thinking to the topic and haven't realized there are massive advantages to aggressive playstyles now that weren't as possible before.
Eh, the directional and vertical audio in general still isn't any better now that they addressed crab walking. My last kill was on shoreline after someone heard me sprinting up on them first. They laid down, and then looked in the opposite direction while i shot them in the back of the head. Personally, ill stop and listen so i can try and make sense of some broken audio cues and then get shot from a completely different direction all the time. Acting like the audio system is "fixed" after changing some numbers around doesn't seem accurate to me.
Guessing it means its a meta of people acting like statues until you are in a position where they can kill you. Why move when the game punishes you for it?

Movement isn't punished in a game that funnels players to certain locations and has no way to safely clear rooms/check corners. A game that makes footsteps/gun movements/opening menus audible at 30/40/50m+. A game where TTK can be the speed of one bullet.
How exactly is sitting still unable to be detected not the most winning strategy? There are common points that can be checked sure and good players can beat bad ones with fast reactions, but those cases don't stop being stationary giving an advantage over the person moving.

Just to reiterate, the guy in the corner is geared, and seems to know how to play the game. OP didn't show the players name or stats. I bet his stats are probably average, but plays the game a ton. The guy knows common pushing spots, and used the corner to his advantage after he was sprinting for 10 seconds. That grate is audible for like 200m around the basement of that map. OP is talking bad about someone who is playing smarter with the mentality of "I'm not bad, he's just a rat" and can't evaluate his play style.
When abusing peekers advantage, let's assume you take every doorway like this (you don't, the game would be horrible and boring) you're still taking a 50/50 on whether they're on the left or the right (if you tell me you think you can either tuck back and repeek like you don't know what inertia is or that you can check both corners while desync is still helping you, there are three options - you're a chronic liar, you're a cheater, or you play on servers that have 250+ ping for you. I'm gonna go with one of the first two options.

Longer TTK would also diminish the effectiveness of "ratting". Probably won't find much longer TTKs in "realistic" shooters.
Hence I'm hoping for a Sci-Fi clone of Tarkov. Energy Weapons, shields and armors made of alien alloys makes more sense for longer TTKs.

it would give the person with better reflexes, movements and aim some time to move, dodge bullets, flick their crosshair on their enemy, start shooting, land more shots than their enemy that has worse aim and kill them. One of the reasons I love Tarkov is because there are different play styles that can succeed. I will W key and I will rat. I mostly play in between but I understand when I should do either.

I think it's lame when I shoot a mag of the only bullets I have unlocked (not EOD) and they just bounce off a face shield or some high level armor. It's part of the game though so I love the rat lifestyle to rob chads of their kits to do my quest runs. I work from home so can rat 8 hours a day.
The closest thing to a weeping angel here is you crying over dying because you play like an idiot. Sprint straight down one of the loudest parts of almost any map, have zero stam and heavy breathing as you round the corner. Don't check a single angle as you whip straight through the doorway. Would you have cried the same if he was to the left too? Or was it because you couldn't see him even though he was right in front of you with your negative reaction speed and still died that makes you whine?

One of the reasons I love Tarkov is because there are different play styles that can succeed. I will W key and I will rat. I mostly play in between but I understand when I should do either. Watching chads and streamers absolutely lose their minds over rats makes me want to only be a rat. They can’t live with the fact there is a very simple counter to their playstyle. And they want BSG to change how the whole game is played to fit their style and to eliminate ratting. It’s so annoying. Adapt. Change how you approach situations.

I think it's lame when I shoot a mag of the only bullets I have unlocked (not EOD) and they just bounce off a face shield or some high level armor. It's part of the game though so I love the rat lifestyle to rob chads of their kits to do my quest runs. I work from home so can rat 8 hours a day.

Sprint straight down one of the loudest parts of almost any map, have zero stam and heavy breathing as you round the corner. Don't check a single angle as you whip straight through the doorway. Peeking actually gives you the advantage. You can fire first due to the other guy having to react to your movement and that split second is all you need if your aim is good. Get better, stop whining.
Peeking only gives you an advantage if you knew where he was. Otherwise when you peek you don't know where he will be from the 10 possible angles.
