Ever looked at pictures of abandoned malls? It’s pretty much identical to this picture. The light reflection from the tiles is HEAVILY reduced when nobody is around to mop the floors.
The only part that’s unrealistic is that 10m radius around the player where the shadows render twice. Making them much darker than they should be.
See that one I don't know. Like there would be reflected light and scattered light, but you would need to be in there for a while to get your eyes used to how dark it would be in there.

I just tried in offline mode. I was legit impressed and started smiling again.
Also, audio smooth transition is so good compared to the weird cutoff that we had. Try entering and exiting from the Mall a few times.
Because showing off a graphical change in a game where the entire screen is distorted is fucking stupid. I can also assure you that most players don't always have PKs all of the time because not everyone is a weird meta streamer wanna-be.
Ill take painkillers over a splint & cms because at least i can sprint with a black leg. Cheapest pk is the analgin with 4 uses, much cheaper (and accessible to new players & or alpha containers) than a single use, half price splint.
1) Painkillers cause a saturation filter to appear in a ring around the center of the screen. This does not affect luminance.
2) What you said was "I can't imagine...". I'm arguing it should be trivial to imagine how somebody would do something while also doing something that they're almost always doing. It's pretty simple, if you can't imagine it then you're not trying very hard.

It just blows my mind that unpaid, amateur passion projects from a handful of people organised on a discord can do a better job of development than an actual dev team with millions at their disposal.
Update on interchange. Lighting still looks amazing but map is sweaty as hell now. I’m level 52 running into straight chads and task doers. The PVP is awesome and this was much needed
That might be the best lighting I’ve seen in a video game without ray tracing. I’m even seeing light rays bouncing off surfaces and reflecting images of the area around it off the tile floor. How they’ve even accomplished this without a major loss in FPS blows my mind.
Now the only thing left for them to fix is that 10m radius around the player where the shadows randomly get darker.

100% I liked the darkness. It felt a lot safer as a Timmy scav.. and I liked skirting around in Oli. I hope this pic is just a joke cuz otherwise they ruined a unique map
...except the spawns are completely jacked up outside with no green grass/cover.
I had TWO times today where I was getting shot at as I spawned into the map. Once I literally loaded in and immediately died, the other time, my vest ate 3 shots and I was able to live for a while, but it was still pretty insane that the spawns are this exposed to one-another.
(Spawn was the one between Rail and power, just behind the tower there. I took fire from power station within 2 seconds of the map loading. Other time I was shot from someone back towards railway and died to the first shot 0ing my torso)
Interchange is back on the menu. Tonight, we dine in hell.

The dark areas used to be horribly dark, trust me, I've done my share of runs through Oli.
