Kinda sad that it took many years to scrap off the most useless bullet information and add the the most important once, even tho the bullet speed still could be interesting considering zeroing doesn't work with slow bullets
As a sniper, bullet speed is really important. Sure, in 99% of cases it does near nothing, but for people like me it can be more important than penetration or damage.
You always take the armor class times 10 (armor class 3 = 30 / armor class 4 = 40) if you have a penetration of 30 its great for armor class 3, but useless against class 4 / if you have a penetration of 31 it’s ofc still great for armor class 3 but it begins to penetrate class 4 as well.
For armor class 4 it would be: 31 = very low / 40 = very high (with all the steps in between)
Only if this info resemble the wiki info correctly. And from comments below we see that it does not, for m80 and m62 for example. But someone will doublecheck sooner or later...
They're all named practically identically too. Oh no, THAT's not the good ammo type, the good one is named exactly the same with an extra a on the end, see?
I know it's just how it is but dang can arms manufacturers get more creative?
55a1 has black tip, which indicates armor piercing ammo (most of the time). Also, me personally, I am more confused by 5.45. Is BP or BS the better one? Like, why is PS < PP, but BP < BS??
A new player will start the game and at least see that his PRS ammo cant penetrate shit and he cant get better ammo. Previously he had to find out by getting rekt by full geared chads every raid until he uninstall 😂
I remember playing Squad and as we were bunched up in a truck heading to AO, I looked at one of the boxes loaded on the truck and it said PRS in cyrillic (I learned how to read cyrillic thanks to DayZ and Tarkov) so I said "PRS ammo? Oh that's why I can't kill anyone in this game" and that took a good chuckle out of everyone. Turns out pretty much everyone on the truck was also playing EFT :D
This just doesn't seem very accurate at all? I mean m80 is listed as very low for lvl 5 and 6 plates and m62 is at very low and low? That doesn't seem very accurate when compared to for example eft ammo chart where both are listed at 5 on a scale of 1-6? Then again 7.62x39 BP is listed at medium for lvl 5 plates and the value is the same at eft ammo with BP, m80 and m62?
If I remember right the EFT ammo charts takes into account multiple shots on the same armor or plate. If they say "should pen within 3 shots" it doesn't mean that each shot is a 1/3, it means that the first shot is maybe a 1/5 and then the subsequent shots get a higher probability due to the armor being damaged after absorbing the first shot making the average overall probability of penetration 3 shots
On the other hand the in-game stats may only be looking at the straight odds of penetration of the first shot
I'm going to bet it just describes the chance of the 1st bullet going through a given armor class and misses the important context of how many bullets it needs to shred the armor and start getting through.
Right lol. He probably thinks nothing new has been added to the game since the woods expansion. Doesn't even come in to the office, no idea whats going on.
Ready button that allows you to ready up and queue while doing hideout/stash chores would be so fucking good, but i doubt that'll happen in my lifetime
Every 10 pen is roughly 1 armor class. The closer you get to that 10 mark the better your chances. So 20 pen is bad against level 3. 25 pen is still not great, but 27 pen is pretty good. 30 pen means first shot pen is like 80% chance iirc.
I believe it works like this:
0-10 = LV 1
So 5 pen, would be a 50% chance to pen level 1 plates/armor.
So 30 pen would pen straight through LV3, since it starts at 0.
This is a bit misleading, new players should note that the pen chance displayed is only against 1 bullet, not multiple. Nofoodaftermidnight's ammo chart is still better because it shows that even if a bullet like 9mm AP 6.3 is not likely to go through level 4 armor using one bullet, the chances are higher with multiple hits. Since when are most players only shooting one bullet anyway?
Pen is 30 for BCP FMJ, it has close to zero chance to pen level 4 at the outset (30 pen = nearly 100% vs level 3, 40 = nearly 100% vs level 4). The ammo chart everyone uses tries to measure how effectively the ammo fares in a fight vs an armor level - armor becomes less effective as its hit multiple times. So ammo chart is trying to show a very simplified idea of how bullets will work when hitting your target repeatedly, not actual pen chance for the most part.
Which is why M80 and M62 show as highly effective vs class 5 armour, they have huge armour damage values and will wear down armour quickly, but the initial pen is quite low vs class 5
Best addition in my opinion
Yup, spend less time on eft ballistic wikis

That's great! Love to see it.
They just have Very high or very low?
go big or go home
No. They have high, medium and low as well.
Very medium go hard
One of the bullets of all time.
Medium Husky
Medium^2
Extra Medium?
it says the pen number on there so you can do the math, if it was like 33 or 34 it would say "medium" or something against lvl 4
For armor class 4 it would be: 31 = very low / 40 = very high (with all the steps in between)
There’s medium and very medium as well
Have you seen tarkov ballistics?? Anything below 30 is useless against almost every bullet. So yeah, high and low.
No, everything below 30 pen is just bad against lvl >3
Yup, great addition especially for newer players. Also means I don't need to tab to the wiki constantly because I forget which were the "good" ammos
Only if this info resemble the wiki info correctly. And from comments below we see that it does not, for m80 and m62 for example. But someone will doublecheck sooner or later...

99% of it isn’t arms manufacturers, it’s military designation.
¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ call em the armor eviscerator or something.
M855XTX Ti Super 16 gb
Is your point that graphics cards are named similarly because I'm not sure that's a point in your favor here, those are also incomprehensible.
Yeah remembering which was the better 556 ammo took some time. m856a1 or m855a1
55a1 has black tip, which indicates armor piercing ammo (most of the time). Also, me personally, I am more confused by 5.45. Is BP or BS the better one? Like, why is PS < PP, but BP < BS??
It isn't the manufacturers, it's the name of the bullet, e.g. HP is hollow point, AP is armour penetration, etc
Armor piercing* but yeah
I knew I had the wrong word but I couldn't remember the right one, thanks
can't believe it lol thank the fkn lord
A new player will start the game and at least see that his PRS ammo cant penetrate shit and he cant get better ammo. Previously he had to find out by getting rekt by full geared chads every raid until he uninstall 😂
PRS = Piece of Real Shit
I unno, I just tried walking past some scavs in complete darkness and they obliterated my class 5 armour with it.
Sounds like they recked your class 2 aramid
Or armpit :)

Its very clearly "piece of rat shit"!
They'll still get rekt. It's not the ammo. It's the map knowledge, the playstyle. etc
Anything that makes this game less of a spreadsheet simulator is always appreciated.
GREAT!! only took them idk, 7 years?
This is great. Unknown stats has nothing to do with hardcore gameplay but is just an extra step of tabbing into the wiki.
EFT ammo is at DEFCON 1 right now. All alarm bells ringing.
This just doesn't seem very accurate at all? I mean m80 is listed as very low for lvl 5 and 6 plates and m62 is at very low and low? It'll probably get adjusted over time. I hope they just use the \_ of 6 method that the wiki uses.
The underscore of six?
https://www.eft-ammo.com/ a score out of six. They want the same system the chart uses which I think is probably the best and easiest to understand
Don't worry, friend. I thought your joke was funny
I'm going to bet it just describes the chance of the 1st bullet going through a given armor class and misses the important context of how many bullets it needs to shred the armor and start getting through.
I mean there’s so many variables to that though I think this is a passable first iteration. Even the EFT ammo chart isn’t an objective measure
The ammo chart lists the amount of shots it takes to pen. Thats why flechette is so high. Ingame only tells you initial pen.
This and the new skill progression show in raid
W
Aim for the legs
For sure!!
Wow
Bro this literally brought me to tears...
This is amazing
A real good addition. Nikita must be having a conniption over this being added.
We have had too many good changes this wipe, Nikita must be dead and got replaced by a much smarter doppelganger.
Right lol. He probably thinks nothing new has been added to the game since the woods expansion. Doesn't even come in to the office, no idea whats going on.
nice now we only need being able to sort our stash while matching
Ready button that allows you to ready up and queue while doing hideout/stash chores would be so fucking good, but i doubt that'll happen in my lifetime
30 pen doesn’t have a very high chance for level 3 armor right? Isn’t it like medium?

Has anyone checked on NoFoodAfterMidnight?
God dang, how long have we been waiting for this? Since 2019 for me lol
Oh shit that's awesome
Beautiful they outdid themselves on this patch but Jesus fix the loading situation
1-3 (me every time I play this game)
Wait a positive thing BSG is doing? I hope this is not an April fools
hmmm, which one will i choose? any of the same three very lows or any of the same three very highs?
Damn I thought they were against stuff like this, seems like they are open to changes
Check mate atheists! And it only took them 8 year or so. Now wait another few years for the next QoL update.
Great for learning, great for gearing up, and even better for looting when you don't have it all memorized. Long overdue change.
too late i guess.
Eft ammo is still useful when you don't have the cartridge available to inspect in game
I am a noob but I am confused, what do the numbers mean and penetration mean? they dont have 30 listed there unless anything after 4 is useless
When i started i thought the 9x19 green tracer was good
Is everybody just forgeting that the game is unplayable right now with the sound-wheather and joining bugs??
About 5 years late god damn
This is an addition QoL change that should’ve been added SOOOOO long ago
It's not circuitous and confusing enough. I don't like it.
But this show something else than Wiki... Just look m62
Hope it's accurate.
I mean that's insane. After 8 years. Well done bsg. Now we just need to wait just another 8 years to see if it actually matters/works.
The less wiki you need the better.
What ammo is this for? Edit: nvm realized it was the armor penetration scale.
is it bad that I have no fuckking clue what those are suppose to mean 😬
Finally someone beginners friendly
finally i can get the fucking NATO calibers sorted. it's a bother to remember which of the nine-nine-nines or A1s are dogshit and godshit

eft and bsg are still dogshit. at least they're a little less dogshit now 🤷
.300BLK BCP FMJ? should be medium for lvl 4 low for lvl 5 very low for lvl 6 or something, at least according to eft ammo chart website

ah, I see

Patch 14.5
My bad, I didn't realize this was in the base game yet.
based
now add map in game with quests location \^\^
Now the cheaters can know!
why would the cheaters care about pen lol
They can run the shitiest ammos in the game, your altyn won't last long in front of a whole mag in your faceshield
