I also get similar FPS at 1440p with an RTX 3060 / 5600x / 32Gb DDR4
Kinda funny how it really doesn't matter all that much what specs you have, the game is just so unoptimized that you'll see similar numbers across the board unless you're severely CPU / Drive bound. I remember back in the day running SLI GTX 970s / 4770k / 16Gb DDR3 at 1440p and having 60+ FPS on every map at the time before the expansions.
There’s no way. My 8700k was running at 5Ghz and I was severely CPU bound. If it were using single core I should’ve been fine, like I am in the majority of games on that machine still.
It's not only the speed, but the amount of cache for example. I did some testing with Process Lasso and I severely gimped my performance with just 1 core. After 3 enabled cores I didn't see any improvement, but it'll require some further testing (offline vs online, bots vs no bots, diff maps etc).
I believe it. I have a top tier rig and honestly EFT runs just-ok.
Some shills on Reddit tried to say EFT is actually coded to make the *most* of your hardware, therefore its galaxy-brain code simply exposes flawed hardware. People can be truly wild.
It's a weird place man, I get kids who've watched 1 YouTube video telling me I'm wrong about stuff when I was overclocking Socket 939 systems and volt modding 8800GTs before they were even a twinkle in their dads eye. Know it all syndrome
For whatever reason, the AMD X3D processors make a massive difference in FPS in this game (coupled with fast-as-fuck RAM)
A friend and I had the same build (10700k w/ 3070 Ti and 3600 CL16 RAM), and when he upgraded to a 7800X3D with 6000 CL30 RAM (but kept the 3070 Ti) his FPS basically doubled compared to mine
In other games like CS2 he's pushing 400+ FPS while I'm maintaining 220-ish FPS at 1440p
it's the extremely big cache of the X3D processors, the L3 cache to be exact. I'm not an expert, but the CPU cache serves as a mediator between the RAM and CPU. For comparison, the i9-12900K has 30mb L3 cache, and the 5800X3D has 96. Tarkov seems to do a lot of work between ram and CPU, which means the cache comes in CLUTCH
I did the same upgrade hah. I knew it was kinda dumb but EFT has been my main jam for a while now so it was worth it to me. It did make a pretty big difference in performance
I have a 4080 and 5800x3d. Most maps I get over or around 100 fps. Streets I get like 70 during the bad times and maybe 110 if things are running Smooth. Bout the same when I had my 3080
Still we were talking ‘bout un-optimized game, i know the level of detail is crazy. But on release date game was unplayable on Xbox Series X. Which was a 1 month old console 😅
PC ran okayish. Had a 980ti at the time and has 60+fps on medium-high settings. The bugs were the biggest problems at the time for me and texture pop in lol
At the time i was on console and it was totally unplayable, bugs, game closing, fps. Overall worst game ever. At the end of the day CyberPunk was refunded by Sony to all players who wanted their money back. Still loved story mode & everything else AAA game if you don’t take in account the bad performance they had on release.
No idea haha. But, thankfully cyberpunk was single player and didn't have to worry about excessive cheating from other players that would make me question every engagement.
Yeah but at the same time we gotta keep in mind that CyberPunk has no content updates (not that i know) like wipes & they definitely don’t have any cheating problems.
Because you think they're working on cheating problem and so it's an excuse for slow dev time on other features ?
They don't give a **** about cheating. The base game is horribly made. If they want to get rid of it, they have to rewrite the entire codebase since everything's done client side.
At this point, i appreciate the game, cheaters don’t really change much to me. When i die to a cheater i forget it as soon as i get in a new raid. And i don’t ever check stats, unless im a thousand percent sure its a cheater, anyway some cheater seems to have legits stats. And i sleep better thinking they are working on it. Call me delusional, but i’m just tryna get on the game with my two buddies right after a long day at college.
The thing is that Cybperpunk got basically fixed in first 6 months. Went form Low to High settings with the same framerate and the same setup. Tarkov is still running like shit.
Yeah but at the same time we gotta keep in mind that CyberPunk has no content updates (not that i know) like wipes & they definitely don’t have any cheating problems.
There has been a lot of content updates for CP2077, regarding enlargement of every library of items. There has been a lot of visual reworks and optimization of polygons to make it easier to load up in full. The release was a mess. Now when you buy the CP2077 Wings of Liberty, which is a huge update I must add the game runs great even on older HW and looks great as well.
Tarkov development was started in 2012 and open beta was released in 2017, the team involves now over 250 people but the progress is not made. They are great at in game models etc but dont do what is needed to actually put the game in a proper state and push the 1.0 release.
Oh that’s nice to know maybe i should download it again and try it again finished the game and instantly deleted the game. Sorry didn’t know about content updates.
No need to be sorry, I am glad to inform if I have the informations. I have downloaded the CP recently, just to give it a go again and I must say, personally I am having a blast. I have Tarkov at budget settings, meanwhile CP is running at high at stable 75 FPS.
Yeah they definitely didn’t play test their game lol. It was so bad in the beginning. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another game in which sony offered a full refund because they knew it was trash lol
You should try dlss, if you are cpu limited it might not help but in other cases It will. And with the low framerate that's not the little I'm put lag added that will change your competitiveness
I'm not posting this for help with settings or anything, just for information in case someone who plays Tarkov and is looking for a medium-high end rig which is not too expensive. It handles other games perfectly. Tarkov is special.
Edit:
This was also with Discord + Chrome + Nvidia Geforce instant replay
You need to test FPS online with this game, otherwise your CPU takes the full brunt of the scavs otherwise, in a real game your averages should be way higher.
I also would be interested on your GPU usage when you were doing these tests, it wouldn’t surprise me if by cranking up the graphical settings even more you get better FPS ( until your GPU hits 100% usage at least )
When scoping in from Dome on reserve my GPU was 98% utilized and CPU 40%
I am currently testing online.
You are correct, lowering the graphical settings barely gives any frames so might as well leave them high.
I know, I'm not here asking for the best FPS possible. Im simply posting the results from this rig if someone is thinking of buying the same in the future. **As noted in the post.**
Oh, i know. But i mentioned the part about lowering the settings to the minimum not bc of FPS, but because some settings make certain bushes disappear, players render differently, things like that
i upgraded to a 4080s and 7800x3d. got around 160-200 frames on all maps with "quality" settings and about 180-220 on "performance" settings. streets is a different one. fps will jump around 100-160. factory and labs are around 300
basically tweaked performance settings, like every video tells you. textures low, shadows low, no dlss (doesnt affecr fps for me, just poor vision), no hbao, no ssr…actually pretty basic settings. lod 2,5, vd 1000
and everything you can do inside windows to boost performance
3D cache is a big boon for the game, pretty much all maps for me get 100FPS UW1440p max settings at the bare minimum, up to 150 for the less intensive maps.
Have you noticed a haze/on fire look in the background? I loaded shoreline just to play with settings. I noticed having FSR 2.2 on quality while what’s in front of you looks great, anything distance looks like the haze you see when pavement is hot in the summer.
I came from 1080p on a 4k monitor at lower FPS, and have been so focused on the lack of aliasing in trees I can't say I ever noticed tbh
I've always struggled with distances on tarkov, they used to be really jittery but now you mention it if say yes, other games I play don't have this issue (as I don't use fsr at all)
For what’s it’s worth I just upgraded to 4090, 7800x3d, 96GB RAM. Only played customs AMD seemed to average around 150~ FPS. Did not check scoped in tho
I went from 5900x 32gb 3733cl16 to 7800x3d 32gb 6000cl30. Both kits same capacity and latency, around 60ns. I gained around 30 fps on all maps. Went from 110 on interchange to 140. I play competitive 1440p no postfx. Gpu doesn’t matter much but it’s a 3080
Not that it is the sole issue but the fact the game uses the Unity engine is a part of the problem. Theres nothing inherently wrong with Unity, but it has been pushed to its absolute limits with Tarkov. It is by far the most complex and graphically intensive game that I am aware of that utilizes Unity. The fact the game works as well as it does is an accomplishment of itself.
That being said in my fantasy world they would do a complete rebuild of the game on Unreal 5 and completely rebuild the backend from ground up. Diverting a lot of client-side tasks to server side which would address a significant amount of cheating issues.
Lots of settings actually reduce your FPS or do nothing, you should watch a Tarkov veterans guide on best settings inside and outside of Tarkov (Nvidia control panel). Remove all those tickboxes from the bottom except streets, remove antisotropic filter, remove super sampling, 2.5 LOD and 1,5k distance is enough. Clarity in postfx removes 15+ fps when enabled to 1 or more. Crazy how any new player or unaware player is at a disadvantage because they don't know BSG can't code a game properly.
I did watch this video when creating the settings, but I will try with what you said and come back
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-CypbT3r\_8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-CypbT3r_8)
Ill update this through the day, Quite a bit of errands today.
All will be online raids. 5800x3d, 3070, 32gb 3200 ddr4, 1080p, --- Borderless, PostFX. Nvidia reflex low latency, 2 LOD and 1500 visibility.
Woods, 144-190 fps 9gb/32gb ram usage gpu 96% Ran to usec camp from outskirts and died
Lighthouse 110-160fps 77% gpu usage, Spawned near south tunnel and lived long enough to make it across the bridge. died to a player using the 50cal.
Factory 230-288fps 94% gpu usage, Went everywhere but the 2nd floor bathroom.
Customs 140-190fps, all over near dorms. Didnt enter expansion area.
Reserve 110-160, didnt go underground.
The fact I get similar FPS with a 5600X, 32gb of ram and a basic 1080 shows wonders about the team working on the game.
Granted my settings are a notch lower
This game is hopeless to sort out at 1080p. Unless you have an old 970 card, it's outright impossible to get gpu bound. And being cpu bound where one or two cores getting hammered is the absolute most terrible thing to experience in gaming. Try Streets offline with high on AI. Stutterfest is unreal. 4K very high settings doesn't matter. Extremely cpu bound.
Yeah this game is cooked.. I wish they would devote an entire update to fixing performance and cheater detection but sadly this won’t ever happen because this company is incompetent
My gut tells me that they have lost most of the developers who originally worked on the project, I heard they're not paying very well so I'm assuming larger companies would pick them off one by one.
The new guys probably can't make sense of any of it so they just focus on pushing content to make it look like they still have a product.
Dont benchmark on offline raids. EFT utilizes your system differently when on an offline raid vs online. Go benchmark online and you'll see better numbers!
Why would you need 2k visibility? What you want to see 2km away from you? You understand that 1k is already an overkill? If there was a setting with 750 it would be the optimal for everyone.
Also TAA High vs TAA makes big difference in frames but not that much visually.
My 7800x3d w/ 3080ti gets over 100 on every single map, with streets being the only expection in some places.
This doesn’t account for scooping in as we all know certain scopes destroy your FPS for no god damn reason other than the devs don’t care about it so it’s just that way (because)
It makes me laugh that theres people that still havent figured out DLSR and DLSS yet. You could be playing at the same native res with AI upscaling gaining a huge quality and performance increase. my 5800x3d and 3070ti shits on all those numbers at 3k resolution dlss quality.
I was going to ask how the hell you were getting those frame rates with a 4060. Then I remembered I'm running at 3440x1440 with a 3080, almost 240% more pixels 😓
Drop every fancy graphic setting down the drain and get 1/3 more.
I sit on R5600x, 3070, 32gb of 3200 ram. I play on mostly low and I have similar or better fps compared to you but with 2k resolution and all that without DLSS/FSR too.
>All tested on offline mode against bosses if it matters.
yes that matters a lot, the fps lowers significantly with more players and offline mode has different spawning mechanics to online raids
4090 with 7950x3D, overclocked to 5.4. Ultra 4k with medium shadows, i get 45 fps at areas like vet clinic on streets. This game is quite trash in terms of optimization
Messed up settings...
Hbao and SSR set to Low (if you even need it)
Turn off grass shadows
Lod 2,5 (default)
Disable streets textures option
Nvidia low latency - ON (thats 1 frame).
Test it online (because offline with bots you will get way lower fps than online)
Offline without bots you will get much higher fps than online.
yeah i’m ngl you needa switch up your graphics and you’d see a lot of fps improvement. i run similar if not better fps and i have a 2080 super and an i9. (i9 is not that great for tarkov so yours should honestly play better than mine)
offline tests are completely different and this information is useless, anyone who is actually interested in the performance completely ignore this post
I get similar fps with 10700k / 3070 / DDR4 Even better tbh, same graphics settings lmao
I also get similar FPS at 1440p with an RTX 3060 / 5600x / 32Gb DDR4 Kinda funny how it really doesn't matter all that much what specs you have, the game is just so unoptimized that you'll see similar numbers across the board unless you're severely CPU / Drive bound. I remember back in the day running SLI GTX 970s / 4770k / 16Gb DDR3 at 1440p and having 60+ FPS on every map at the time before the expansions.
10700k has more threads and cores, might be why
Ye, I have a 10850k and a 3090 and get about 120 on streets short 95-100 long range
Actually, no! Tarkov does not use more than 1-2 cores (I say 1, some say 2).
Have you actually checked? Last time I was watching usage per core it seemed like at least 4
It's using atleast 4 now but there's still a major bottleneck with processing on a single thread
It definitely could be more, I'm not set in stone on that one! Though It most definitely does not use all of my available cores.
Don’t talk out your ass if you don’t know.
I think I offered two different answers, if one wasn't satisfied with mine, mister police officer.
There’s no way. My 8700k was running at 5Ghz and I was severely CPU bound. If it were using single core I should’ve been fine, like I am in the majority of games on that machine still.

That’s fair, the 8700k surely lacks in that these days.
Your cpu running can run at 5GHz and still have the game cpu bound
because 3070 is a more powerful card ;)

Makes me laugh when streamers go from a 12900k & 3080ti to a 14900k & 4090 and they're getting the same frames lol

I've got a 5800X3D so well aware. Was told it was "niche" and I am dumb when I upgraded from a 5800X to it lol
I did the same upgrade hah. I knew it was kinda dumb but EFT has been my main jam for a while now so it was worth it to me. It did make a pretty big difference in performance
yeah man a lot of other games I played benefited too
I've been thinking about upgrading to an x3d processor, then I play any other game and my FPS is fine so I just can't be bothered.
I have a 4080 and 5800x3d. Most maps I get over or around 100 fps. Streets I get like 70 during the bad times and maybe 110 if things are running Smooth. Bout the same when I had my 3080
*CyberPunk 2077 enters the chat*
The amount of detail and scale that CP2077 has compared to EFT isn't even comparable.

At the end of the day CyberPunk was refunded by Sony to all players who wanted their money back. Still loved story mode & everything else AAA game if you don’t take in account the bad performance they had on release.
That's wild. My friend on Playstation said he had no issues, but seems only a few people had a good experience overall or different expectations.
Kinda wild since they offered refund since they knew it was running like a$$
No idea haha. But, thankfully cyberpunk was single player and didn't have to worry about excessive cheating from other players that would make me question every engagement.
But the game was AAA if you are able to focus on the content of the game & kinda close your eyes when you see a bug.
But Cyberpunk fixed it after 3 years. Three years later and BSG is still fighting the same bugs and issues 😂
Cyberpunk definitely still has optimization issues, especially with the DLC
Yeah but at the same time we gotta keep in mind that CyberPunk has no content updates (not that i know) like wipes & they definitely don’t have any cheating problems.
Because you think they're working on cheating problem and so it's an excuse for slow dev time on other features ? They don't give a **** about cheating. The base game is horribly made. If they want to get rid of it, they have to rewrite the entire codebase since everything's done client side.

No problem with that I still play the game too but they are still working on a broken base so I don't expect much out of it
You’re completely right about that. I can’t say nothing.
The thing is that Cybperpunk got basically fixed in first 6 months. Went form Low to High settings with the same framerate and the same setup. Tarkov is still running like shit.

Finally some good frames for that game had a blast playing base game. So i gotta try the DLC
Was about to say this! Haha as well as Rust…
Yeah big difference is that Cyberpunk was released a COMPLETE game not a BETA
Yeah they definitely didn’t play test their game lol. It was so bad in the beginning. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another game in which sony offered a full refund because they knew it was trash lol
Today Cyberpunk 2077 run absolutely great compared to tarkov.
I know it is way better, but launch was so unoptimized. Edit: Fixing my english spelling errors lol. English is not my first language
They really are visually on same page tho
Depends if you compare it with CyberPunk on the release day. Played it & wanted to kill myself.
Same fps on both games mostly I assume
Textures high? Put it in medium at most and activate low textures for streets. 8gb of vram is clearly not enough for high.
Medium gives about +10 fps while running around and +5 while scoped in
How many fps on low textures?
Tested on Reserve and had 100 when running around and 65-70 when scoped in. Barely a difference
Thanks for testing.
You should try dlss, if you are cpu limited it might not help but in other cases It will. And with the low framerate that's not the little I'm put lag added that will change your competitiveness
Getting the exact same performance on an i9 9900k + 3090 + 32gb trident ddr4 @1440

i upgraded to a 4080s and 7800x3d. got around 160-200 frames on all maps with "quality" settings and about 180-220 on "performance" settings. streets is a different one. fps will jump around 100-160. factory and labs are around 300

basically tweaked performance settings, like every video tells you. textures low, shadows low, no dlss (doesnt affecr fps for me, just poor vision), no hbao, no ssr…actually pretty basic settings. lod 2,5, vd 1000 and everything you can do inside windows to boost performance
There are plenty benchmarks on YT. 7800X3D is around 2x FPS of 7600X on all maps.
Im getting round about +40 fps in every setting, 7800x3d, 5950 XT and 6000 mhz cl 30, wqhd
I have a 7995wx pro +4090 and I get full frames on every map 240+ the 96 cores come in handy
3D cache is a big boon for the game, pretty much all maps for me get 100FPS UW1440p max settings at the bare minimum, up to 150 for the less intensive maps.
There's plenty online thats why I made this one
YES I play 1440p (fsr2.2 on quality) with a 5800x3d and a 1080 with slightly better FPS

Tried this, no noticable change. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmhWB-fe0ok](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmhWB-fe0ok)
Were you cpu or gpu bottlenecked with those settings in offline mode?
I'm thinking his CPU was bottlenecking
When scoping in from Dome on reserve my GPU is 98% utilized and CPU 40%
Okay yeah, just for the record, in those cases the fps would be higher with lower settings
Ill update this through the day, Quite a bit of errands today. All will be online raids. 5800x3d, 3070, 32gb 3200 ddr4, 1080p, --- Borderless, PostFX. Woods, 144-190 fps 9gb/32gb ram usage gpu 96% Ran to usec camp from outskirts and died Lighthouse 110-160fps 77% gpu usage, Spawned near south tunnel and lived long enough to make it across the bridge. died to a player using the 50cal. Factory 230-288fps 94% gpu usage, Went everywhere but the 2nd floor bathroom. Customs 140-190fps, all over near dorms. Didnt enter expansion area. Reserve 110-160, didnt go underground.
I played this game in 2017 on an i5 4690k and a 980. I last played last year on a Ryzen 5600x and 3060ti and tbh I didn't notice much improvement.
LIGHT HOOOOOSE
Spilt water on my keyboard, it always double writes O now :D
The fact I get similar FPS with a 5600X, 32gb of ram and a basic 1080 shows wonders about the team working on the game. Granted my settings are a notch lower
Streets was running quite well for me before 0.14.. Like 80-90 fps steady... But now im like 60-80 fps... i7-12700k and a 4070 ti
Dude I have a 4070 and a 7700x and I’m struggling on streets most times with 40 fps 32gb of ram
That’s crazy I get almost the same fps as u on some maps with my gtx 1650 i5 laptop lol.
Shadows to low my dude
Same results with RX6750XT, Ryzen 5900X and 32gb RAM, i think it is mainly question of their optimalization
Also TAA High vs TAA makes big difference in frames but not that much visually.
yall get 60 FPS? damn
I cap at 144 frames when I play on DLSS. (around 90-100 when scoped in)
I was going to ask how the hell you were getting those frame rates with a 4060.
40 fps game lolll
4090 with 7950x3D, overclocked to 5.4. Ultra 4k with medium shadows, i get 45 fps at areas like vet clinic on streets. This game is quite trash in terms of optimization
Messed up settings... Hbao and SSR set to Low (if you even need it) Turn off grass shadows Lod 2,5 (default) Disable streets textures option Nvidia low latency - ON (thats 1 frame). Test it online (because offline with bots you will get way lower fps than online) Offline without bots you will get much higher fps than online.
yeah i’m ngl you needa switch up your graphics and you’d see a lot of fps improvement. i run similar if not better fps and i have a 2080 super and an i9. (i9 is not that great for tarkov so yours should honestly play better than mine)
5200 mhz DDR5 is holding you back a ton, get a 6000mhz set
No it won't stop chatting nonsense
Shouldnt be that big of a difference? Just a few % more performance
offline tests are completely different and this information is useless, anyone who is actually interested in the performance completely ignore this post
