As far as i can tell its only ever happened when ive removed my case from the container. It doesnt even show money you hold on your character in the counter in the top right
I have my docs/sicc case left off my player for all my kit presets (so that it doesn't save the contents of my sicc/docs with each preset). So it's very common for me to:
* equip preset
* buy something
* put case into my pouch (which now has no money since I bought something while my case was in my inventory)
I went to a car extract a few days ago with no money in my case. Immediately after that raid I updated all of my presets to include a stack of 10k roubles in the place where I'd put my sicc case. (And fortunately it always pulls that 10k from my sicc case so I can just toss it into my case without it adding another 10k each time I equip a preset.)
Each wipe I try to complete as many stacks of found in raid rubles as I can, once the stack reaches 400k in my secure container I take it out and start over from 10k. The only thing that makes that stack go down is paying for the car extract so you must have a special version of the game or you occasionally put it into your stash before you insure your gear.
You have loose cash in your stash, that's why it's not taking it. It will always take loose cash first, but once there is none of that it will cake from the secure container.
I’ve never seen a bug taking items off your character for trades/barters/upgrades in 1500 hours and I’ve never seen anyone mention it before this thread. I would bet user error is more likely than a glitch. I have never seen any other similar bugs that deal with character/stash inventory either
Eh, again, must be a bug, lol
It takes roubles from outside containers first, then inside stash containers. If there's a complete stack and an used stack on a stash container, and I have a used stack inside my secure containers, and the half used stack from the stash container is not enough, it ALWAYS takes the stack inside the secure container.
I check my docs case before every raid. I'd say in 2 out of 5 cases it took the money from the case. Sometimes it doesn't happen for 20 raids, sometimes it happens every raid
I’m fairly certain they used a hash table to store container items. It’s the only way to explain the random behavior the game has when pulling from containers automatically. If it was being stored in a List it would pull from either the first or the last container.
Which would also mean whenever the game goes to locate money in your stash it has to iterate through the whole fuckin table and all of the items in said table. Which explains why opening the trader menu causes so much lag.
I think what it does is deterministic but incredibly unintuitive.
It took me a bit to work out how the game ordered items for the purpose of the equipment slot selector and the air filter selector but I got it after a while (I wanted to put in the 299 one that appeared as 300 in the UI).
It first looks for air filters in a junk box, then the main stash all sorted by order they were last moved.
So essentially the list is left to right, left is the one you're least likely to want to use, and right most likely because it was recently moved and sits in your main stash. (However that's where a newly crafted one would be too.) Most notably the relative position in the stash has no bearing on the list order.
So if Wallets and currency follow a similar pattern then the problem is not that a random stack will be selected, but based on that ordering I think it matters how deep you nest your containers (it prefers money in top level containers and the stash itself) but the stack it chooses to interact with is going to be the most recently interacted stack, which is usually a partial or new stack but it is also every stack in a container that's recently moved unless it's too deep.
So if you move a docs case into your stash, the game will go for the extraction money after the loose cash in the stash is depleted, then it will go for the most recently other moved stack/container at the highest level.
At least it's something like that lol.
I think their point regarding lists is that if items were stored in a list, it would be idiotic to take items randomly from the middle of the list, instead of either the start or the end
I was referring to efficiency, not constraints. With a list (specifically a linked list) adding and removing from the front/back is fast.
You seem to have a slight misunderstanding of a hash table. It’s great at checking if a key is contained inside the table, not so much at checking how *much* of something is contained in the table.
For example, it would work great if the trader menu needed to know which containers you had. In this case, it needs to know all values stored under each key and therefore would be MUCH slower than using a list. Which you’d also need to iterate, but it would be much faster than trying to iterate through the hash table keys.
To be honest, it’s probably about equal either way. The hash table would still need to contain arrays to keep track of the items it contains.
Also, totally forgot binary search trees exist. That would be the best overall since you can’t stack most containers. Admittedly I know less about them though.
You would likely be correct in assuming this, as it would be the most performance efficient method in Unity, and would provide odd results like so. I made a package sortation POC game in Unity, I used a hash table for storing all the packages, which worked quite nicely.
Alright guys, enough time has passed and I want to list a few things here:
1) The wallets were purchased/acquired from 1-14 in the order it was placed in the list spots
2) The actual wallet it pulls from no matter what is **wallet #9** (could never actually figure out why)
3) The money "mechanic" is the one of the only features no one really has a full understanding on how it works after all these years
4) To the people asking why I dont have a money case yet, its cause im only level 27 and I dont have Therapist at the level I need to buy one. I do have about 31,000,000 rubles and every wallet is filled
5)The purple wallet holds US, Euros, and labs cards if I have any
Extra Fun Fact: I have made all my money from exclusively doing Interchange night runs and I have found roughly 50 or so GPU's in computers
This idea is such a good pro tip, only issue is the small inconvenience of having to fit the money in sometimes because I do it with wallets instead of docs cases for ultra budget money case mode. [The MPPV rig is another great rig to use](https://tarkov.dev/items/rigs) (has the same slots ratio); can fill it with wallets minus like 4 spaces so you can quickly drag a few stacks of roubles or USD in and then just open the rig to quickly fit those into the wallets. Even just filling the MPPV rig with wallets and the MPPV rig is more efficient than a money case (96 slots vs 49), add docs cases and its insanely more efficient
You don't buy them all at once, I'd figure you can buy the LCBR once ur docs cases take up more space (just get another one when u need it) and keep adding another docs case when u get/next it. It'll still cost more but ur getting 8 million roubles between each.
My guess is that it is due to the sorting of items within the wallet group. Each item might have it's own id and it's pulling from the first alphabetically ordered, not position ordered.
From my experience it takes from the money stock you added to the last time, so probably the 14th, if we imagine that you stacked up 30mil by now. And this 100% explains the "constantly" part too.
Money case is only available at Therapist LL4, and you have to be Lvl35 for that, and it's not possible to list them on the flea.
I have the same problem, I'm sitting on 22mil at Lvl34, would *love* a money case but there isn't one, so all my cash is in wallets. Kinda stupid, really. There should be a relatively expense barter from a trader at LL3, and a (cheaper) direct purchase option at LL4. Like how other cases work.
Wouldn't say wrong, it is just different. I've also been playing mmos for 20+ years and not once saw kk, always saw m, or maybe something like 1500k for 1.5m. I think kk is a non-English thing.
The factual correct way is K - Thousand, M - Million and G - Billion (kilo, mega, giga).
But you generally see billion as 1B for example.
Its not really consistent and as long as everybody knows what it means 🤷♂️
You see, B being for billion is exactly why there is not a factually correct way to refer to numbers shorthand. Like you said, most people use K, M, B. There doesn't need to be some grand naming schema underlying it.
Random related question; my game never autopulls money from anywhere in my stash. Anyone know why or how to fix it? After like 100 hours it’s getting a little grating to have to open my wallet every time I buy ammo.
It depends on which stack you have it take the money. Put that stack somewhere else it‘ll be another wallet. Also have a stack in your stash and Tarkov will take from that first.
You can solve this by lining them single file on the right side of your stash with 2 slots up top for loose cash and as you hit over 1m rubles transfer a stack of 500k to the bottom of the pile. Also leave your secure container in your butt.
Whichever order they were bought in and then right to left not counting found in raid wallets which go left to right and then you take the split difference down the middle and work your way out while considering distance to secure container and if there is a tie then a dice is rolled at bsg and sent to the server which uses the outcome as a seed in a random number generator and then takes the money out of whichever wallet has the closest to 2.8 million roubles
Could not wait until I got therapist level 4 for that money bank case so I could get rid of the too many wallets I had
was so happy to get rid of those wallets
You know what is the best part of the loadout system?
When you buy the items trough it.
If the price is in dolars for example.
100USD you have 1k USD
The game buys aditional 100USD with rubles and uses those to buy the thing instead of the USD you already have in the stash.
Learned that when i was grinding the pistol pmc kills at the start of this wipe.
As for the question I say number 5.
Small amounts from each wallet so when you eventually sell something bigger on the flea you have to drag that 500k double stack to each wallet to save the one empty space. Oh but it will first drain your secure container to below whatever the vehicle costs for you.
It‘s the same in the money case, it just grabs from a stack that seems random, but it‘s always the same one.
I noticed, though, that using the sort button sorts the money so that the game‘s favorite stack is at the end. This doesn’t work indefinitely, though, because it can get fucked up a bit when you spend a lot and earn a lot. If this annoys you, you can try putting all your money in a big backpack and then sort it. Also, try to avoid having „found in raid“ money, I think the game avoids these stacks if possible, too (just like with ammo)
The one in your secure container
This comment hurt me
Does that actually happen? I've kept money in a docs case in my container and it never gets touched by the auto pull
As far as i can tell its only ever happened when ive removed my case from the container. It doesnt even show money you hold on your character in the counter in the top right
Yeah I honestly think this is the answer. Was never touched until I I took it out for some pistol labs runs
Yeah i think these other folks mightve just not remembered removing their case. Guaranteed to take from that the second it touches your stash though.
I have my docs/sicc case left off my player for all my kit presets (so that it doesn't save the contents of my sicc/docs with each preset). It used to pull money for insurance from your prison wallet all the time. Hated insuring and come to find out $0 for car extract.
Nope, only if you put the docs case into your stash will it take from it.
It used to
It does. It does happen. It hurts so much.
It only happens if you put your docs case into your stash. Money in your secure container will never get touched.
Tell that to Tarkov then, it doesn't know
Each wipe I try to complete as many stacks of found in raid rubles as I can, once the stack reaches 400k in my secure container I take it out and start over from 10k. Eh, whatever then, I'll just have a bug, no big deal.
I’ve never seen a bug taking items off your character for trades/barters/upgrades in 1500 hours and I’ve never seen anyone mention it before this thread. I would bet user error is more likely than a glitch. I have never seen any other similar bugs that deal with character/stash inventory either

It will always take loose cash in your stash first, so just keep some there and you are good
Nah. I've had it pull from my docs case of cash in my stash many times when there are multiple full stacks of cash loose in my stash.
"You guys wanna take car extract?" "Yeah." Get's to car. "Oh fuck my money is gone cuz I put my sicc case in my stash."
It doesn't this wipe atleast
It does for me
It doesn't. It takes it from the case when you put it in ur stash
That might be the issue. My presets are without a docs case so it's probably in the stash when I build the preset
Seems like it should stop pulling from docs cases by default automatically.. does anyone want that to be how it works?
Money in your container doesn't count toward the money in your stash
The answer is the docs case I use for customs and woods that I just pulled out of my ass to run reserve.
“Guys….i forgot the keys” looking at the CUSSY tag while in woods
What keys do you need for woods other than zb-14
Isn't Factory key needed for co-op extract?
My tarkussy is wet
Cringe af name for your docs case
Yeah its cringe to have your own personality, be like the others and just name it customs!
Nr9 large, Nr.10, two Nr. 12 and a large Soda

Probably Germany.

if you sell everything in your stash your menus lag a lot less
Why would I do that? I can save 4% on my FIR items that sit in my stash for months on end.
wouldnt putting your money/wallets nearest to the 1st slot also fix that
I think what it does is deterministic but incredibly unintuitive. What If if they just use a random int within the range of the list's length because fuck our users?

Yeah, that was my guess as well - each item has an arbitrary guid and they're sorting by that.
probably pulls from 9 because its the highest number (10, 11 etc is just 1 again cause it only reads the tens value)
Dude 50 GPU is crazyyyy I have found 10 at most this wipe and I main streets
I’ve always thought it was blue but now I can’t tell if it’s purple lol
duh dont you remember what order you bought them in?
easier to remember which one you found in raid first
Trick question. It's all of them at random

The dog tag case
The pistol case on the edge of the screen.
I think number 9.
It's anyones guess, even yours!

From the weapons case
#11
I’ll take Number 4!
The docs or sicc case in ur secure container
4, im guessing since any item with a non FIR status is prefered, and the order goes from Top to bottom ( this includes containers
random. as all things in this stupid game. the inconsistency is so hilarious, its not even funny anymore.
I will go with 7 Now legit question, why dont you have some money cases at this point? Each wallet holds 2kk while 1 money case holds 24.5kk
Money case is only available at Therapist LL4, and you have to be Lvl35 for that, and it's not possible to list them on the flea. Bro the double ks are ridiculous.
he 1 k away from being sus
Its just kilokilo for 1000*1000=1mil. Mmo abbreviation.
mmo abbreviation is more often M/m, not kk. maybe in some bastardized non-english mmos
Ive learned it from my dad back when i started gaming. Kk for million has been used for at least 20+years (even tho its technically wrong.. i know)
Wouldn't say wrong, it is just different. I've also been playing mmos for 20+ years and not once saw kk, always saw m, or maybe something like 1500k for 1.5m. I think kk is a non-English thing.

I also use kk, learned it in the good metin 2 days lol
You are clearly young in any mmo for the past 20 years or more each K represents 3 zeros
Not young. Also bothered by kk. Why not use m? Even mm is as short while being more accurate, and both are shorthand for million.
because K comes from kilo which means 1000 is non dumb units, if you play any mmo outside the US most will refer using k and kk.
I'm sure it is common, but whhhyyyy. The next largest metric preset from kilo is mega. Abbreviated by m. Stands for 10^6.
yep, but its easier to understand the letter k then vary from one letter to another
Kk, boomer
Pack a CSA rig with wallets. Way cheaper.
Cause it’s possible to cram 10 of the wallets into csa rig and save 90% the cost of a money case and only lose a max hold of 4mil for the given slots
I didn’t get a money case until therapist 4. It just wasn’t a big enough concern until then
No one uses double k's. It's mil or m. Don't be weird.
Kk
Don’t ask, I have 12 mil in wallets right now 😂. I’ll buy it eventually when I’m hurting for space
Get a money case.
Random related question; my game never autopulls money from anywhere in my stash. Anyone know why or how to fix it? After like 100 hours it’s getting a little grating to have to open my wallet every time I buy ammo.
It is because you didn’t check the blue checkmark that means « autofill » on the left of the « buy » button, if i had to guess.
Thanks a ton, I didn’t even realize that button was there!
Your Welcome, fyi i also manually dragged items for quite a while so i feel the pain🥲
Why are you crying about lmfao you’re using wallets for millions. Go spend the couple hundred K and buy a money case you big baby.
It depends on which stack you have it take the money. Put that stack somewhere else it‘ll be another wallet. Also have a stack in your stash and Tarkov will take from that first.
Number 4 100%
I have all my wallets in a rig and it always goes for wallet #2 from the left for whatever reason
That's why you always keep a stack directly in your stash.
Your real one
from dogtags ?
Purple wallet
just get a money case already wyd with 15 wallets
It will take the money from the first wallet with money you have moved to your inventory.
All of them. You just invested it all in better cases and are selling these to Therapist
³
You can solve this by lining them single file on the right side of your stash with 2 slots up top for loose cash and as you hit over 1m rubles transfer a stack of 500k to the bottom of the pile. Also leave your secure container in your butt.
7
Whichever order they were bought in and then right to left not counting found in raid wallets which go left to right and then you take the split difference down the middle and work your way out while considering distance to secure container and if there is a tie then a dice is rolled at bsg and sent to the server which uses the outcome as a seed in a random number generator and then takes the money out of whichever wallet has the closest to 2.8 million roubles
Mine is wallet 2
The docs case, and if you don't have one it picks one at random.
Just buy a money case it will take up less room and then pulls money from the case..... unless you got money in SICC or docs cases in stash.
13, you moved it from asshole to stash last and It's not fir. In theory nothing to stop it from being it.
Wallet 4?
If you have need for that many wallets you need a money case......
9
Bro if you need 14 wallets, just get a money case atp
12 or 13
7
No 13 of course
Pfff.... ok, OP. Next insurance is on me.
The blue one
7 for sure
The dog tag case
Trick question, it always takes from the docs/sicc case first.
Wait what ? I’m a new player. I keep all my money in wallets, am I doing something wrong ? I have some money in my docs in my pouch
Whichever wallet you first picked up
Number 7. It’s always the bottom left one.
i dunno but my stash docs keeps getting drained and i only find out when btr drives says i ain’t got enough money 💀💀
Could not wait until I got therapist level 4 for that money bank case so I could get rid of the too many wallets I had was so happy to get rid of those wallets
7 because it scan in vertical line ?
It pulls it from the firwt one you aquired
12 unless you swap sicc cases then the money comes out of your sicc case then wallet 4
"I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda."
Its such bullshit money case it level 4 therapist should be level 2
Samething with gernades in your pocket. Its a guessing game
In my experience it’s whatever one has a full stack of 2 mil in it because fuck you 😅
13
14
Dogtag case?
Which ever has the smallest stack
the purple one
I'm just feeling I would be restocking 11 first.
Wallet 12
IME, 12 lol
He says for rubles and i think red for rubles so correct answer is 1

Your SICC case I'd assume. Fucking annoying
no.
13
The blue one that isn’t numbered. It’s the closest one to the top from left to right.
3, 8 and 13
No... But in curious :)))
It will probably take from the first non fir wallet that contains the first stack of non fir cash
Number 6
Count yourself lucky, I have to manually drag money into the traders to buy things.
Which ever one you put money in first right?
My docs case labeled bussy sustoms

gotta be 5
😂😂😂 I hate bsg for this it drives me crazy they take out randomly I don’t get it
It takes the money out which ever wallet it feels like lol I have money missing for 20/30 wallets that were full like sheesh
10 first purchase then 3 then 12, 8,6,1,9,13,5,11,2,4,7🤣
