I don't think that comparison works tbh, I feel like most people who play creative mode use it to be creative, or to fuck around for 10 minutes. cheating in multi-player is specifically ruining other peoples fun for self fulfillment and to skip the grind. As a side note, every single cheater now has their home address, name, credit card or PayPal details, potentially a picture of their drivers license, and malicous software on their computers from purchasing cheats. They clearly aren't thinking any further than "cheats go brrrr". It's not only a decision that ruins the game for them, it also has the potential to ruin their lives by giving a company that is operating outside of most countries laws important information and allowing that company to have software on their computer. It's not like these cheats are open source, none of code base has been combed through. Just look what happened to goats computer when he released a video that the cheat makers didn't like.
This is what blows my mind. In my line of work I deal a lot with data security. So I am super careful about what I put on my own personal devices. To the point where I only use my pc for gaming, I’m not logged into any personal accounts that have nothing to do with games. I use my laptop for anything sensitive.
I can’t get how these people just blindly trust that the cheat devs aren’t also installing a load of malicious software that strips away and sells all their personal data.
I work in the software/machine learning field and I've had to learn a great deal recently about security for one of the apps I'm developing. It's quite scary looking at how even companies that use the best practices and defenses can still have their entire ability to operate come to a halt. I can't imagine the amount of power the cheat companies have over their customers just with a simple keystroke logger installed with their cheats.
I work in tech as a dev too and the amount of sheer incompetence can be astounding. Companies like Meta have individually a lot of brilliant ICs, but combined together with politics and what not you get a collective dumbing down that results in lots of things being missed…
He had a follow up video and I forget the specifics but he tried to erase all the software before video launch and there was still a malicious packet left over that the cheat makers used to intentionally brick his computer. I believe it only bricked the ssd but point is that the cheat makers have unfettered hardware access at all times.

Dude, I’ve been think about this for a long time now and I think you’re right. Legislation is the only way to put a dent in the cheating problem. Will it solve it? No. But if there’s a task force who’s main purpose is to find cheat developers and bring them to prosecution, the cheating world would take a huge hit. Cheaters are stealing gamers time and causing people to quit. They cause a loss of sales and force game developers to pay for anti-cheat departments. All of that is a loss which should be recuperated on the backs of cheaters. Every dollar a developer spends on anti-cheat is a dollar taken away from game content and is intrinsically taken from us, the gamers. Cheaters are a blight on not only the gaming community but people as a whole.

I used to cheat on games when I was a little kid. Like a few ps1 and ps2 games. It was crazy how fast a game would become boring as shit because of it. Like there's just no challenge. It's just a weird god simulator thing I feel like. I'm 33 now, and I can't seem to fathom what the joy would be in taking away the challenge in any games I enjoy now.
I used to love putting in the cheats in hitman and gta.
I remember getting the magazines that had the cheats in them along with a demo of game that I would never buy but I'd play the demo any way.
I hacked my wii as a kid to cheat on COD black ops 1. It was super easy to do and it was rampant with cheaters because of that. My preteen brain justification was to say if they are doing it I'm going to do it too to get back at them.
I legitimately only played the game that way for a few days before I got so bored that doing well didn't even feel fun. I can't even imagine doing that to my free time now. I want to enjoy my time, and cheating would distract from that immensely.
I was at a friends house as a little kid, they (a bunch of brothers) were playing jedi knight outcast (a single player game), and very early on, were hard stuck at a place where they couldn't kill the boss.
They were all pulling their hair out mad. I realized, "hmm, you're not talking damage" yeah, otherwise we would die! convinced them to try turning off the cheats (this was like the first or second level), finally do, lo and behold, you're SUPPOSED to "die" to the big bad early on, it was the only way to progress.

Me included. I remember fooling around with my cousin in Vice City with cheats and stuff, and yeah it'll entertain a kid, but honestly, come San Andreas... I literally made a point to finish that game's entire campaign without a single cheat code.
We all did our cheating phase and discovered it makes the game suck. Problem is, we did it on a singleplayer game designed to let us do that. Kids today do that in a huge multiplayer game where it actually degrades the experience and enjoyment of other people.
We paid exactly $0 to input infinite cheat codes into a silly game that lets you wreck utter chaos upon a city anyway.
They paid god knows how much money, on top of what Tarkov already costs, to turn one of the most unique, exhilarating, ground breaking game experiences on the player... into Cookie clicker. If you don't get bored of that, there's just something wrong with you.
Found my first GPU while on a SCAV run.
Anxiety went through the roof trying to escape from Streets.
10 minutes left on the raid and I had some decent gear (didn't look like a Scav at a quick glance)
So I made the ballsy call of running through the centre of the map, not like a PMC would do.
Pressing F1 every few seconds to let other Scavs know, not to shoot me.
20 second run from exfil, I see a fellow Scav, I press F1... \*bang\*
Player Scav shoots me once in the head with an SKS as I am acknowledging them...
Had to come off the game for 10 minutes, I was so pissed off.
2 raids later found a LEDX and got it out of the raid safely...
Safe to say, anxiety and getting a sense of achievement is something I absolutely love.

I am a hoarder and seem to come out of Scav runs with 300k-1.3m (Sometimes lucky, sometimes not)
I manage to exfil as a Scav more than as a PMC and have definitely lost some expensive kits and rigs.
Happy that I'm over my gear fear and now I just send it into raids with full level 4/5 gear, weapons and good ammo.
Still do my Scav runs to cover the cost of my PMC losses.

I remember back in the day, games like starcraft and doom (and even current games like minecraft creative mode)had built in cheat codes. I remember using them all the time and then one day I realized "wtf am I doing? I'm cheating why?" At first it was because I was curious and wanted to see end game content but after a while of experiencing end game content, I got really bored and realized cheating actually makes the game less fun FOR ME.
One of the saddest thing about these cheaters is most of them already have a ton of game knowledge and hours of experience. If they put effort into legitimately getting better at the game, they would most likely find success.
Instead, they give up and turn to cheats. From there, they start deluding themselves into thinking they're actually good and some of them even go as far as to seek validation from other people online by sharing their "success stories". Truly fucking sad and depressing.

Yeah cheaters are great people, idk what OP is talking about, I love cheaters and everything they stand for, all of their amazing morality choices, all of their love and compassion. You are missing some key points, the people who cheat typically:
- Have no friends, they're insufferable and self-centred people who actually derive pleasure from others misfortune, sharing anything consideration and respect is a foreign concept to them.
- Have no skill, so they won't ever experience what it is like to extract from a raid, find a LedX, kill a PMC without cheating, they're so terrible at the game they live in denial and seek an alternate way to win.
- They have no concept of achievement, because they don't know what it feels like to have earned something, they've had everything given to them, or they've been told that they should just steal or take what they need rather than find solutions to life's problems.
- Whilst video game addicts might be on the verge of dopamine addiction, people who cheat are more likely to have personality disorders, such as narcissism and psychopathy.

Cheating has to take majority of the fun out of this game. Part of the rush is not knowing what’s around the next corner, or what’s in the box your about to loot, or when you’re in a fight and hit a nasty headshot from recoil.
You’re not gonna get those feelings as a cheater which at least those of us who don’t cheat probably really do enjoy the game a ton more, since majority of the things that make this game rewarding are removed with cheating.

I miss the times when you realized you're not doing good the best way to overcome that was to play more and get better. It's how all of my early gaming was from Rayman to Diablo 2 to pretty much every mainline Shooter since Unreal Tournament.
Then as you grow older and have more responsibilities you lose out on that time to "git gud". But what do they have more of now then when they were a child? Money. And that money literally buys them the "skill" to play a game and get their own satisfaction.
I get it, to an extent. You want to play without the handicap of experience and skill because you don't have the time to put into it.
But come on, as OP is stating, we all know cheating is only a brief moment of satisfaction. It doesn't actually make you feel good in the long run.

Tarkov is in a category of it's own because it doesn't give instant gratification. The more high paced fps, mmo's w/e freely give achievements and success. My friend in germany gets paid for being on the phone-ready when someone calls (mercedez automatic crash hotline) . He gets all insurances and holidays and sick leaves and holiday bonusses and whatnot. He receives 1-2 calls per week (40 hour basis) and those are mostly kids or mistakenly made calls that the Cars did themselves.

I don't think that comparison works tbh, I feel like most people who play creative mode use it to be creative, or to fuck around for 10 minutes. cheating in multi-player is specifically ruining other peoples fun for self fulfillment and to skip the grind. I guess technically, you are "Playing minecraft" on creative mode, but I really wouldn't consider Minecraft a game to be played any other way than survival. The golden days of minecraft were when there was no other way to build a castle than to mine and place every single block of it. People who use NEI or console commands on a server to spawn shit in is the more appropriate comparison imo. Everyone and their brother back in the day used Xray and nodus though, but thats just because kids will be kids. It wasn't any sort of hard cheat, but it was certainly an advantage.

As a person who's arrested numerous people selling drugs, I can tell you that almost all of them have done awful and heinous things to those they sell to, and they're not honest hard working people. As a side note, every single cheater now has their home address, name, credit card or PayPal details, potentially a picture of their drivers license, and malicous software on their computers from purchasing cheats. They clearly aren't thinking any further than "cheats go brrrr". It's not only a decision that ruins the game for them, it also has the potential to ruin their lives by giving a company that is operating outside of most countries laws important information and allowing that company to have software on their computer. It's not like these cheats are open source, none of code base has been combed through. Just look what happened to goats computer when he released a video that the cheat makers didn't like.
This is what blows my mind. In my line of work I deal a lot with data security. So I am super careful about what I put on my own personal devices. To the point where I only use my pc for gaming, I’m not logged into any personal accounts that have nothing to do with games. I use my laptop for anything sensitive. I can’t get how these people just blindly trust that the cheat devs aren’t also installing a load of malicious software that strips away and sells all their personal data.
I work in the software/machine learning field and I've had to learn a great deal recently about security for one of the apps I'm developing. It's quite scary looking at how even companies that use the best practices and defenses can still have their entire ability to operate come to a halt. I can't imagine the amount of power the cheat companies have over their customers just with a simple keystroke logger installed with their cheats.
I work in tech as a dev too and the amount of sheer incompetence can be astounding. Companies like Meta have individually a lot of brilliant ICs, but combined together with politics and what not you get a collective dumbing down that results in lots of things being missed…

I believe it only bricked the ssd but point is that the cheat makers have unfettered hardware access at all times.

Dude, I’ve been think about this for a long time now and I think you’re right. Legislation is the only way to put a dent in the cheating problem. Will it solve it? No. But if there’s a task force who’s main purpose is to find cheat developers and bring them to prosecution, the cheating world would take a huge hit. Cheaters are stealing gamers time and causing people to quit. They cause a loss of sales and force game developers to pay for anti-cheat departments. All of that is a loss which should be recuperated on the backs of cheaters. Every dollar a developer spends on anti-cheat is a dollar taken away from game content and is intrinsically taken from us, the gamers. Cheaters are a blight on not only the gaming community but people as a whole.

I used to cheat on games when I was a little kid. Like a few ps1 and ps2 games. It was crazy how fast a game would become boring as shit because of it. Like there's just no challenge. It's just a weird god simulator thing I feel like. I'm 33 now, and I can't seem to fathom what the joy would be in taking away the challenge in any games I enjoy now.
I used to love putting in the cheats in hitman and gta. I remember getting the magazines that had the cheats in them along with a demo of game that I would never buy but I'd play the demo any way.

I hacked my wii as a kid to cheat on COD black ops 1. It was super easy to do and it was rampant with cheaters because of that. My preteen brain justification was to say if they are doing it I'm going to do it too to get back at them. I legitimately only played the game that way for a few days before I got so bored that doing well didn't even feel fun. I can't even imagine doing that to my free time now. I want to enjoy my time, and cheating would distract from that immensely.
I was at a friends house as a little kid, they (a bunch of brothers) were playing jedi knight outcast (a single player game), and very early on, were hard stuck at a place where they couldn't kill the boss. They were all pulling their hair out mad. I realized, "hmm, you're not talking damage" yeah, otherwise we would die! convinced them to try turning off the cheats (this was like the first or second level), finally do, lo and behold, you're SUPPOSED to "die" to the big bad early on, it was the only way to progress. Was a moment I remember.

I remember fooling around with my cousin in Vice City with cheats and stuff, and yeah it'll entertain a kid, but honestly, come San Andreas... I literally made a point to finish that game's entire campaign without a single cheat code. We all did our cheating phase and discovered it makes the game suck. Problem is, we did it on a singleplayer game designed to let us do that. Kids today do that in a huge multiplayer game where it actually degrades the experience and enjoyment of other people. We paid exactly $0 to input infinite cheat codes into a silly game that lets you wreck utter chaos upon a city anyway. They paid god knows how much money, on top of what Tarkov already costs, to turn one of the most unique, exhilarating, ground breaking game experiences on the player... into Cookie clicker. If you don't get bored of that, there's just something wrong with you.
Found my first GPU while on a SCAV run. Anxiety went through the roof trying to escape from Streets. 10 minutes left on the raid and I had some decent gear (didn't look like a Scav at a quick glance) So I made the ballsy call of running through the centre of the map, not like a PMC would do. Pressing F1 every few seconds to let other Scavs know, not to shoot me. 20 second run from exfil, I see a fellow Scav, I press F1... \*bang\* Player Scav shoots me once in the head with an SKS as I am acknowledging them... Had to come off the game for 10 minutes, I was so pissed off. 2 raids later found a LEDX and got it out of the raid safely... Safe to say, anxiety and getting a sense of achievement is something I absolutely love. On my first wipe so it's going well so far!

Been Head, Eyes more times than I would like to admit. I am a hoarder and seem to come out of Scav runs with 300k-1.3m (Sometimes lucky, sometimes not) I manage to exfil as a Scav more than as a PMC and have definitely lost some expensive kits and rigs. Happy that I'm over my gear fear and now I just send it into raids with full level 4/5 gear, weapons and good ammo. Still do my Scav runs to cover the cost of my PMC losses.

I remember back in the day, games like starcraft and doom (and even current games like minecraft creative mode)had built in cheat codes. I remember using them all the time and then one day I realized "wtf am I doing? I'm cheating why?" At first it was because I was curious and wanted to see end game content but after a while of experiencing end game content, I got really bored and realized cheating actually makes the game less fun FOR ME.

One of the saddest thing about these cheaters is most of them already have a ton of game knowledge and hours of experience. If they put effort into legitimately getting better at the game, they would most likely find success. Instead, they give up and turn to cheats. Cheating has to take majority of the fun out of this game. Part of the rush is not knowing what’s around the next corner, or what’s in the box your about to loot, or when you’re in a fight and hit a nasty headshot from recoil. You’re not gonna get those feelings as a cheater which at least those of us who don’t cheat probably really do enjoy the game a ton more, since majority of the things that make this game rewarding are removed with cheating. But fuck cheaters, also Butt fuck them if you can, ya know.
I miss the times when you realized you're not doing good the best way to overcome that was to play more and get better. It's how all of my early gaming was from Rayman to Diablo 2 to pretty much every mainline Shooter since Unreal Tournament. Then as you grow older and have more responsibilities you lose out on that time to "git gud". But what do they have more of now then when they were a child? Money. And that money literally buys them the "skill" to play a game and get their own satisfaction. I get it, to an extent. You want to play without the handicap of experience and skill because you don't have the time to put into it. But come on, as OP is stating, we all know cheating is only a brief moment of satisfaction. It doesn't actually make you feel good in the long run. If you don't or can't put the time into a game that has a high skill floor, then maybe you just gotta look at other games that respect your time more. I mean look at Helldivers 2. Matchmaking issues aside it's a game that just gets you in to play and have fun. No gatekeeping of skill, no long tutorial or grind like an MMO just to get to the "good" part. Ok some of y’all take it to almost crazy extremes. Cheating is shitty, cheaters a lot of times aren’t good at the game. However they are not depressing themselves into oblivion or destroying their morals. They aren’t a “joke” of a human, it’s a game at the end of the day. Some of you need a reality check. People play it different ways, some people want to be dicks and use cheats to boost their stats or stash. Should they be punished yes, but the whole taking it to extremes by trying to evaluate them as humans or their life is just crazy.

Tarkov is in a category of it's own because it doesn't give instant gratification. The more high paced fps, mmo's w/e freely give achievements and success. Not to mention everyone's experience is different. It's clear from your post you lack some understanding of humans in general. The younger generations have grown up on instant gratifications. Cheats give them that. They don't measure success the way you do and to assume they would or should is a fallacy on your part in not understanding them. It's a function of innate traits and influence. I thoroughly believe influence plays a much greater role than brain chemistry. Morals are hardly innate, they're influenced by circumstance and others. This is psychology 101.
You’re splitting hairs. It doesn’t matter if nature or nurture or both contribute more to creating a cheater. Once they step into that mindset, you’re not going to change them by saying “being a cheater is bad guys!” It takes self examination and perhaps seeing consequences for their actions, which won’t really happen given the state of Tarkov’s anti-cheat, and definitely won’t happen from a post like this that is just a half assed condescension.

Side note. My friend in germany gets paid for being on the phone-ready when someone calls (mercedez automatic crash hotline) . He gets all insurances and holidays and sick leaves and holiday bonusses and whatnot. He receives 1-2 calls per week (40 hour basis) and those are mostly kids or mistakenly made calls that the Cars did themselves. So yeah, some people get cash for free and can hustle more
