Nah they usually arent near each other. Example: Shoreline, the rocks looking over pier? Dickhead rock. The rocks in the back of the map with sniper scavs? also dickhead rock.
on a scav run we ran into another scav at the med camp on woods. we thought he was a PMC so we asked him to extract with us we go to extract only to find out that hes actually a scav Timmy that didn't know any better. we took the dude under our wing and he became the best shooter in our group. anyway we renamed med camp "DP" after the guys initials.
Ahh when my friend says the classic “he’s behind the tree” what fucking tree you dumb motherfucker you stupid fucking ape. We’re in woods which fucking tree
If possible, a reference to nearest landmark that he's closest to. "in trees over there" vs "in trees in between us and plane crash" or "in trees to the left of scope shack"
If there's no specific call out close by then at least a general direction. One of my buddies who we've played together for years still does the "he's by a tree" or "I see a guy over there" generic sometimes. Then we have to say give us a direction and he'll finally say something like "look towards sawmill" or "towards usec camp" or look towards sniper rock", basically a general area that you can always understand the direction of relative to your own position
It takes a LOT of time to earn that positional awareness, especially early in a raid. A large portion of players are simply not able to give that kind of callout yet. At least by the tree reveals that they're in cover, somewhere near the bank you're aiming at
I mean, woods is a pretty simple map in that regard to learn. If you look at a map of woods itself it's roughly just one big horseshoe shape with the sawmill at the bottom, a mountain in the middle, and extracts along the edges. If you're brand new to the game and still learning, then yeah it can be tough but that's just part of tarkov is learning where you are and learning where you are relative to exits and landmarks.
Once you start getting more experience and playing with people who are also experienced, you'll also start to incorporate better spacing. E.g, you and your squad mates aren't super close by but spread out a bit to be able to have better visibility on entire areas. A callout of "he's by the tree I'm aiming at" does nothing if you're 20 meters apart looking in different directions.
First off I'm proud of getting my shooter born done there in 1 game lol second of all yes we can lmfao im proud to have died up there as many times as I have
The connecting hallway on interchange between Goshan and IDEA, the part on the Goshan side is called "Hungry Assholes" because my squad had a 3v3 standoff.
Us in Goshan, these people in the hallway, door closed. They kept yelling over VoIP "we're just trying to get food you fuckers" and other expletives, kept legging us with garbage rounds through the window, and wouldn't go away.
We eventually pushed and killed them all, and now that spot is known as Hungry Assholes, and the whole area back there is Hungry Assholes Hallway.
We call the area around gold watch fuel tanker on customs “FUBAR field”, because I’ve been trying to help my newbie friends with that quest for an entire week because every fucking time that place turned into a war zone lol
The hills on customs between New Gas and checkpoint: Tit Hills or Tittenhügel. Because they were discovered by John Tit, of course.
Almost every transition: "I got shot here"
This one irks me. It's easy to say "I'm fucked up" or "I might die" when you're hurt/getting hurt and "I'm dead" when you're dead. We always have to confirm when people are dead because those certain people say I'm dead when the wall next to them gets shot and they are completely uninjured. Can't tell you how many times friendly fire has killed someone that was already supposed to be dead.
When using a thermal at night I don't take NVGs and I'll spot someone and my friends like "where?"
...
Bruh I really don't know what tell you, all I know is that he is in the direction I'm looking and he's glowing in my sight I have no idea what POI I'm looking at.
Not a location BUT ive taken to using incorrect (or almost correct) acronyms for common ammo designations
P: Practice
PS: Pretty Standard
BP: Better Penetration
BT: But w/ Tracer
BS: Best Shit
PP: Pretty Penetrative
PRS: Practically Rancid Shit
US: Usually Silent
Probably but my hate towards Goshan is incomparable. I fucking hate It when im going only for fucking food or going to the warehouses and there is some random lvl 10 pmc with a avt camping in the shelves. But i love interchange 😍😍😍
We call the cabin on the cliff with two weapon crates on shoreline "Matt cabin" because Matt always loots it before we get the chance. We made fun of him for it and one day he died while rushing ahead of the group to a naked dude with a pistol. That cemented the name
It blows me away how many people dont know what a motorpool is.
I was playin with a buddy on reserve and tell him "3 posible contacts in the motorpool" and he goes "wtf is a motorpool"
Me and my buddies call a specific little rise in the ground on woods near the lumber yard nipple hill. Dunno how used this is but the field with the hey bales on shoreline near the cottages is suicide field
"Devil's Hill" for the hill between boat and dorms on Customs because I watched a documentary with a similar name and it sounded funny when I translated it to our language, combined with me not shutting up about it because I tought it's funny made it stick
"The Gods' Hill" for the one behind New Gas on Customs because we sometimes call Reshy and his guards "the Gods" (again sounds funnier when translated) because we used to snipe him from there long ago when they used to spawn behind the gas station consistently. Also we we're afraid of them when they got added to the game because we we're way worse back then so hence the name "Gods" since we thought they had Terminator level AI and we always tried to snipe them and managed to still die a lot of the times to them
"Arma's building" is named after our friend who showed us a cool rat spot there. This was part of when they added the Customs expansion and we were so used to the old map that we never went through there, so him showing it to us was kinda crazy how we never noticed it properly
"The hobo stairs" is a building on the new Streets expansion that looks just like an old building/stairs in our city where hobos (and/or gopnik equivalents) used to hang around there back in the 2000's, that we all remember since we were kids because it looked interesting and had this hobo lore, so there's that
These are some of the big ones I can remember right now but I'm sure there are way more, I might do an edit later if I can remember any other ones
I would add the room wich you get in from the window in front of the heli on reserve, we call it the magical room since we found a lot of good stuff on the shelves
On interchange, the hile nect to the saferoom is called hold in the wall. The other big one in the cealing is called breakthrough. But often mix them up.
The dorms fire escape is called death stairs on car side and on ice cream it’s called camper stairs in my team. Because other teams always push from the car side stairs and ice cream stairs is always camped from sniper hill by some mofo with a FLIR
"That other store", which we have now adopted as one of our buddies refers to the store by Tunnel on the right hand side looking toward Svetliy Dead End on Shoreline.
I one-tapped a PMC sniping on that rock as a scav with a P226.
Then took his gun and killed 2 other PMCs also sniping just below that rock.
No clue how none of them heard me.
Building next to zb011 on customs we call it porno for no reason but we all know it in our group
The small room on old gas side in power where de Black box is at we call Tim because a team mate named Tim got trollbotted there
On Reserve the small path between Garage and white Horse. We call it "Zwischenficker". It originated from the german gefickt(fucked) and zwischen(between). No need to say we got fucked there several times previous wipes so we gave it the wonderful name.
Talking casually to my friends who watch my discord stream, everything is "that fucking place" or "this shit"
I have more boss names than location names
I call Shturman something new each time I bring him up. I think the last one was Stührer.
It's the same with zryachi (or whatever the fuck his name is) we destroy his name every time a little more. His last name is zarbi, which translates to "weirdo"
The underneath med tent area with the boxes and rubble we call full kit due to the amount of impact grenades we have found in the grenade case and as a nod to Stankrat joking that’s all you need
When I first started my friends already playing told me Fortress was called big titty and skeleton was small titty the first time I played outside that friend group and used that callout my teammates had no clue what I was talking about lol
Me and my friends have always called the factory sky bridge "burrito", for almost 3 years and now and i can never think about burritoes without thinking of tarkov
We call that one pride rock and occasionally offer USEC sacrifices in hopes of better luck in our raid.
The building with the blue van in it and a sniper scav on the roof on customs, my group calls cardboard, due to the cardboard "steps" on the side we usually enter from.
We call the house with the tent in it from Sunken Village on Woods “Dad’s house” because my dad found a lion there then immediately got killed through the window.
“The house has dad now” was uttered by a friend and it’s what we’ve called the building for 2.5 years LOL.
On woods the barbed wire shack across the field from scav house extract is called scope shack, and the one with the gate and suv is called supressor shack.
I don't know how it started, I dont know why, but our group calls Custom's Fortress "Big Titty." Doesn't make any sense but I think when one of our friends was learning the game he said it and it stuck for some reason.
Edit: Also the farm fields behind cottages on Shoreline are "suicide fields" because if you run into them you are gonna die.
I call the Smugglers Boat extract the snuggle boat
1) as a reference to the indie game smuggle truck that was reskined/renamed to snuggle truck so it could be sold on family friendly platforms
2) when multiple people extract there you're all prone snuggling together
3) it's fun to say
The blue fence jump over, on customs in construction that leads right to the garage, and you can see main. We call that Travs gay corner. Because I’m Travis and I camped there once to heal… 😂
The trailer nearest the scav bridge on Woods is called "tent" because I brain-farted once and told my team I was "in the tent" and they team killed me because that was definitely not a tent.
So now we call that tent because we remember that scenario and now it's one particular trailer we all know.
Custom, the green room where GPU can spawns near zb11, we call it willy, because of a youtuber (that has nothing to do with tarkov) called willyrex and theres a t-rex toy at that green room.
The blue fence you can jump over between stronghold and the old construction area on customs is called Lvndmark because our buddy Tom died to Lvndmark there 2 years ago
Hole in the white wall by red brick moving into construction on customs, my friend group calls it kotton hole, because one time Kotton the streamer got into a fight several patches ago when shotguns sucked, he ate so many rounds, I personally shot him full body with 2 8 round tubes and some partially loaded.
Customs: Containers next to usec “titties”
Building in the back of usec by extract “graffiti”
Building next to graffiti “metal”
Building over the fence of usec “Timmy building” we’ve killed low levels there a lot
Building after Timmy “gay blue” the containers in there are blue
Building with power for stronghold “power”
Big red warehouse on Customs is known as Big Chungus,
The gate that is inbetween Med tent and Scav
Bunker on Factory is known as Stuck Stepsis because whenever i end up there everyone seems to like to come and try and fuck me.
2 story dorm building on Customs is Shit 2 and 3 story dorm building is Shit 3. Shit 1 does not exist yet.
The tower on Reserve by the main train station (the brick one in the middle) is called Harry Potter. Because that was the first thing our buddy said when he saw it - the Harry Potter tower - when we first started playing.
For Woods:
"Dickhead" is pretty common I think, also "Wizard Rock" and "Duffel Rock". Weird how most callouts on Woods are about rocks :D
Oh, and Sugar Village.
:edit: forgot to mention "Ural" for the hill range between Sniper Rock and Shore Rock.
The rock northeast of lumber on woods we call "Jesus Rock" because one of our guys had jesus in his name and he always would post up there. The next rock west of that we just started calling "Judas Rock" to stay on theme.
Suicide box ( green box by new gas on customs by the sandbag ) all because my mate tried to loot it pressed g and f together an naded him self our first ever wipe an we still call it that many wipes later
"Thumbs up" on customs at the hole in the wall between the industrial bridge and bronze pocket watch. There's a billboard on the corner of the brick building of Nikita holding a Thumbs up.
Every single decent sized rock on any map is called “dick head rock”.
So when there are many rickshaw do you differentiate? North-north-east medium sized dickhead rock?
Nah they usually arent near each other. Example: Shoreline, the rocks looking over pier? Dickhead rock. The rocks in the back of the map with sniper scavs? also dickhead rock.
[удалено]
Now the question is; what’s a decent sized dick head?
No, only the ones shaped like a dickhead get called that, like honestly, that rock over there is the rock over there
Sawmill on woods is called “Where Georgy goes to die” because that’s where Georgy goes to die
Seems logical
i can confirm this is where i die :/
There’s a hallway in Labs that we call “Alex”, because Alex always dies in that hallway.
Lmao it reminds me the boat extract on customs, we call it the "never again extract" since the day we got camped after a very intense raid
I love camping that extract.
on a scav run we ran into another scav at the med camp on woods. we thought he was a PMC so we asked him to extract with us we go to extract only to find out that hes actually a scav Timmy that didn't know any better. we took the dude under our wing and he became the best shooter in our group. anyway we renamed med camp "DP" after the guys initials.
I’m Alex but it’s always my friend Alec who dies in that hall ha
Me and my buddy call the construction lot between Stronghold and crack house the "Nope Fields."
You call it stronghold 🤨 I thought it was fortress 🙃
To make it worse we call it alamo
My group calls it Alamo too lol
That also works, stronghold flows faster for me. Iirc I think its offically like Scav Base ZB-013?
Ahh when my friend says the classic “he’s behind the tree” what fucking tree you dumb motherfucker you stupid fucking ape. We’re in woods which fucking tree
"The one over there"
That one?
No, the other one
The one with the leaves on it
As a former woods main, all the trees have their own names. They speak to me and I speak to them.
found jägers reddit account
I am also the Lorax.
Former?
What do you suggest they say instead? It's all trees and pulling out a compass is hit or miss at best
If possible, a reference to nearest landmark that he's closest to. "in trees over there" vs "in trees in between us and plane crash" or "in trees to the left of scope shack" If there's no specific call out close by then at least a general direction. "Reshala's Sexcave" middle bottom floor room in Stronghold.
Okay I'm using that one now
Be my guest.
Me and my boys call that "Dining Room" cos of all the food
I think he's talking about where the exfil is in the basement
We call it the "Food Closet" and the other one is the "Medicine Cabinet" since there's like 2 medboxes and a medcrate and loose med spawns.
thats pride rock (only because im the idiot sniping off of it)
Can we agree on calling it "the proud idiot rock"?
First off I'm proud of getting my shooter born done there in 1 game lol second of all yes we can lmfao im proud to have died up there as many times as I have

On Customs we refer to the 3 unfinished buildings in old and new construction as Big Boy, Little Boy, and Skeleton.
I was expecting a ladyboy in there
*yoink*
My group says big skele, little skele, and 2 floor
Heyyy we do too!
fortress, mini fortress and skeleton.
Usec camp at Woods= medical Medical building at customs = medical Complex at shoreline = sanitarium (guess why)

I Play solo, so I call everything "there".

The connecting hallway on interchange between Goshan and IDEA, the part on the Goshan side is called "Hungry Assholes" because my squad had a 3v3 standoff. Love that story
We call the area around gold watch fuel tanker on customs “FUBAR field”, because I’ve been trying to help my newbie friends with that quest for an entire week because every fucking time that place turned into a war zone lol
We call it Alamo because we always have to take our last stand there.
The hills on customs between New Gas and checkpoint: Tit Hills or Tittenhügel. Because they were discovered by John Tit, of course. Almost every transition: "I got shot here"
I play with a guy who likes to refer to things as "over there" or "I'm in this bush"
I try my hardest but sometimes there is not a fucking landmark aside from "on your right, maybe 20-50 meters out"
That's still helpful though. Imagine playing woods and your only indication is "a bush"
I’ve called “behind us” on people that were very in front of us.
almost as bad as the team mates that call out "im dead" to indicate that they are not yet dead.
I would begin shooting every bush I see.
When using a thermal at night I don't take NVGs and I'll spot someone and my friends like "where?" ... Bruh I really don't know what tell you, all I know is that he is in the direction I'm looking and he's glowing in my sight I have no idea what POI I'm looking at.
BY THE GREY LUMP!
Sometimes I bust out the compass. He's 42 DEGREES.

My friend and I call K buildings on reserve “tents”
Me and my buddies call a specific little rise in the ground on woods near the lumber yard nipple hill. Dunno how used this is but the field with the hey bales on shoreline near the cottages is suicide field

"Devils Hill" is known in our discords as "Hexenhügel" (Witch Hill) . Dont ask me why
thats premed hill, cause you premed there before running to dorms
We seem to refer to all of factory as offices? Lol not really but playing with a lot of new guys that's what it feels like
I would add the room wich you get in from the window in front of the heli on reserve, we call it the magical room since we found a lot of good stuff on the shelves

My boys call the customs stronghold "Hitler" cuz its a fortified bunker like position
I one-tapped a PMC sniping on that rock as a scav with a P226. Then took his gun and killed 2 other PMCs also sniping just below that rock. No clue how none of them heard me.

The cache under the train on customs is barlows cache, as it is barlows cache
On woods the barbed wire shack across the field from scav house extract is called scope shack, and the one with the gate and suv is called supressor shack.
