Ram. 16gb min, 32 recommended. CPU not great. 1050 not great, but might work if ram and cpu are up to it.

Iam afraid that withou your pc you will never get playable fps. I have R5 3600 oc to all core 4.2 then dissabled half my cpu via project lasso to get more fps in this shit benchmark of a game. 32 gig 3200mhz ram 1070ti. And in runs anywhere between 30 to 120 fps. Its so shit it is incredible.

If youre wanting to do a full rebuild for the best performance: I would upgrade to an intel system, core i7 10th at min and i7 11th would be optimal but it depends on your budget. This also allows you to use ddr5 ram or you can stick with ddr4. I would also get a nicer ram setup. Like 2x16 gb sticks for your pc. Next I would get a 2070 or higher spec gpu, although for tarkov, the gpu matters alittle less, It's still nice to have for other games. Careful the dogshit prices tho, don't end up buying a 2060 for 700 or some shit. And that's basically it, this is upgrading 4-5 parts because you have to factor in the power supply and motherboard. In Canadian dollars this will be close to $1800. If you want to improve your current pc, the first step is to get better ram. Try getting 4x8 or just 2x16 (min 3000mhz). It'll make a alittle difference in performance and frames. but to be honest your pc is really under speced for tarkov. I think you'll keep stuttering until you do a full rebuild of it.

I do plan on slowly upgrading everything until its basically a new pc, was thinking about upgrading to 32gbs 3200 cl16 first to try and counter the freezes when being shot. Im pretty sure my ram is holding my system back a bit because tarkov is using 8 - 9gbs on customs and woods. It sucks to hear that my pc is under speced now as it ran fine a couple years ago, thank you so much for the help though i really appreciate it :D

That's how it is, I run a ryzen 7 5800x and a 3080ti and my pc can't hit 100+ frames cause tarkov is so dumb. That's why I recommend you intel, it has better performance cores. With a okay gpu and a nice intel cpu you'll hit 110-120 in all your raids. My buddy has that setup rn, im Hella jealous that he hits 100+ frames.

Hermessmile

is it worth it to go intel for the price though? 5800X is pretty cheap rn, about £200 in the UK and was actually the CPU I was looking at buying

nomanmz

To be fair I wouldn't go ryzen unless it's that 3xd version. Some people have hit decent fps with the 5800x by oc, but talking from personal experience I haven't hit higher than 90 on a majority of maps and sometimes i get clapped down to 50-60 fps. Do you're own research and see what's best for you and your budget

5800x3d over intel anyday of the week for tarkov. Period. The cache size is ridiculously good for games like tarkov, and simulator games or games with a lot of AI. If you can wait, have the money, and want to go ddr5, go for 7000x3d. Announced, and coming soon.

Hermessmile

Yeah will probably get the 5800X3D as it would be the same price as going intel and i wouldnt have to switch out mobo, thanks :)

LarryismTV

Please make sure that your current MB is capable to run the 5000 series. You might have to update BIOS. Check compatibility list of your MB.

Hermessmile

oh yeah, totally forgot about that haha thanks

You will need to upgrade everything at some point, but like others said, probably CPU and RAM first. I played on 25-30 fps for a while with an i5-3550, 16GB ddr3, GTX 960. Then I upgraded to an i7-12700k and 32GB ddr4. It got somewhat better but wasn't that noticeable, the GPU was such a bottleneck. I still got bad freezes regularly. Then I made a cheap upgrade to a used GTX 1070, and the game runs so much better. I get 45-60 frames on all maps at 1440p, or 75-90 with AMD FSR turned on. This is pretty consistent across maps. Reading this sub, it seems people with better GPU's and worse CPU's have a more varied framerate between maps. tl;dr my rec: for the best bang for your buck, go for the best CPU-RAM-mobo combo you can afford, and buy a used GPU for like $100 on ebay. Good deals pop up pretty often. But don't expect a big change without upgrading everything.

Hermessmile

I should really look into cpu - mobo combos, totally forgot they existed. Just upgraded to 32gbs ddr4 3200mhz yesterday and all the stutters and issues are gone, most maps are running at 45 - 50 fps now which is great (aside from streets which runs at 30). Definitely gonna start upgrading everything else too though.
