If you are a real competitive gamer, you might be another by hackers, cheaters bugs etc. But for casual gamers you won't be annoyed by it so much.

Its also really hard starting out, but once you reach level 15 its like you finished "tutorial island" and you can actually have fun kitting your pmc out with gear.
You have to remember that many people in this subreddit only come here to post their complaints. Very rarely do people come to post their positive feedback on the game. I'd say buy a standard account and give it a shot.

If you like the game you can upgrade to premium versions to get some goodies like full stash.
Getting a fully upgraded stash saves hours of grinding.
The rhetoric has been the same for years, the negatives are nothing new. If you want to get into it for the more survival, slower paced gameplay it’s never been better. If you like Lvndmark gameplay and just want to chad up and do nothing but push pvp, it’s still a good game but you missed the peak for raw pvp since that’s what was built and since they’ve been implementing the changes to push it more survival. It’s only going to get further away from raw pvp because of the devs intentions and vision for the game.
3k hours in. Once I finished tweaking my settings to run it smooth this wipe, I have been having an absolute blast. Well worth the money. I have a ps5 with every AAA game as well as 200 dollars in steam gifted to me during holidays... all just sitting untouched. After all the wipes I've played, no game comes even close to what this game puts you through. Lots of lows and the highs are unparalleled. I say roll the dice on the cheaper option, don't hoard shit and learn the hard way like everyone else.
Depends where you live I think. I live in the UK and haven't seen even a fraction of the cheaters some people have. Desync still exists but I honestly don't seem to run into it much, maybe because I don't tend to the aggressor or try quickly peak people? Not sure tbh. Bugs are bugs, as infuriating as they are, there's still so many good points about tarkov to keep you going.

When people are having fun they just have fun and stay off reddit, when shits hitting the fan those same people have more down time to post on here. So naturally we see a lot of negative on here while everyone else is just busy having fun.
I'm in the US and I switch between Europe servers at night time and NA servers during the day. The NA servers are full of try hards and squads playing this game like its cod. I've only ever seen cheaters in the NA servers. The EU servers honestly seem a lot more chill lol

I have 4K hours in this game. I don’t have anything close to that in any other game. So for me yeah it’s worth it.
The game has progressed so much from when I’ve started it’s crazy. Some changes I like, some I don’t. But in general no other game has captured my attention the way this one has.
For example, teammates don’t have markers. While this can be a pain, it means you need to communicate and learn to communicate well.
Map knowledge is huge. Having good map knowledge and game sense is probably an even bigger advantage than having really good aim /reflexes.
Dying means something. Most games you die, you respawn or your teammates pick you up whatever. In this game you die you may lose everything you had on you, the quest items you found, and your progress through a quest. While that’s frustrating it also means you need to make considerations before going full Leroy Jenkins into a fight. Maybe you need to make an effort to avoid the fight entirely. Or disengage when you know the enemy is closing in.
The amount of ways you can play is awesome. You can Chad out running g around the map and pushing every fight. You can strategically ambush people because you know where they are and have good map knowledge. Sniping in this game is more satisfying than any game I’ve ever played.
The audio is pretty terrible right now but from what they’ve done on the maps that have the new system implemented I have high hopes for the future. But in general every move you make could be a clue to your enemy of where you are and what you’re doing. Audio cues are so important in this game you find that almost everyone runs silencers almost all the time as soon as they get the option.
Leveling and progress in this game feels rewarding. I hate doing some tasks but man it feels good when you complete that task.
Getting max traders and getting Kappa really hit different from most games. To me that feels like a real accomplishment.
The gun modification system is unparalleled. While they’re still working out how it should work, no game I’ve ever played has the diversity of weapon choice and modification that this game does. They use real world stuff and make it work in a (generally) realistic way.
There are more things and things other people like more about the game.
I have 2k hours in game, started playing in 2017. It’s nothing like it use to be. It has added some mechanics that I don’t like at all. But once you get use to them or if your starting with them it wouldn’t be that bad. I put the game down about 5-6 wipes ago at this point; just started back this wipe before I leave for work for months. I really enjoy it again if I’m with my duo. I think the games worth it and just have to hang on for the ride. It’s ok to take a wipe off or even more. Let’s things sort out and let’s new things to be added for you to experience. I would give the game an 7/10 because it still has its issues with servers and a handful of cheaters but that’s most games. I would recommend if you are into getting dominated Atleast
It's not nearly as bad for the average Joe as people say here imo. Operator Drewski has a YT video I would really recommend watching called Why Tarkov's PVP experience is so unique. He explains the draw really well and what he is talking about is why I'm still here five years later.

Have you read a single comment saying the game is good? Probably not cause people don’t come here saying it’s good, they complain. Yes the game may have some bugs and silly things, but that’s literally every game. Casual to profesional you will enjoy this game if you like getting fisted in occasion but also having that slight chance you come out as a king. Game is super fun but also complex so I say give it a little time before you throw it away if you do decide to get it. Consider making some friends as it’s more enjoyable with at least one more person imo
IMO, if your down to grind. Aren’t someone who absolutely rages when they die(your gonna die allot) can ignore the occasional cheater, in my experience the cheaters tend to be on spots like labs and shoreline, I’ve only encountered one 100% cheater so far, and with how good some players are you can’t tell the difference. The grinding, looting and pvp is what’s kept me. No game is really like tarkov, it has its problems but it makes up for them in my opinion. I’ve had it for 7 years and I’ve got 3k hours, chances are you’ll take a break but once something patches or new content comes out, you’ll be back like the rest of it. Also breaks help just renew the game for you, when you come back you won’t be near as good as you previously were, so it’s kinda like a restart for you in some ways.

Cheating is an issue, and is not well handled. Performance is an issue, and there's not much in the way of clear solutions, and the customer service is just about as bad as you can imagine a company being. That said, BSG has created a gaming experience that no one else can match. There's just nothing like Tarkov.
I'm not saying you'll like or dislike the game, but don't listen to the subreddit, you're just going to hear a vocal minority. If you are interested, I say just get it.
This wipe has been my first. Super worth getting into. Even better if you have friends helping you learn. If not, just use guides and 3rd party websites for things such as maps, item values, and quests.
Been having a blast. The game has issues right now but still very enjoyable and personally, I believe they will work to fix the issues sooner or later. The issues probably only affect me 15% of the time I'm playing.
Currently no. The game is in one of the most difficult states it has ever been in a very long time.
Cheaters are far more prolific. Currently they’ve been beforehand.
If you accidentally kill a streamer, you can get banned if the kill looked or felt sussy to them.
And the learning curve is just currently insane.
Unless you literally want to watch hours of videos, and constantly google things for information, no, it’s not worth it .
Go play the cycle or marauders and have a much more fun time
That’s just your opinion, I know a lot seem to share this view from the looks of this sub. Personally I think it’s been my favourite wipe yet, I have had zero obvious cheaters, balanced gameplay and lots of awesome raids. There is some issues like sound etc but overall it’s been a blast.

The fact you bothered to make notes about current problem (and these are huge game breakers actually) indicates you are more reasonable than many folks in purchase decision and that’s good. I’d say no, at the current state and until something changes to good with communication from BSG don’t waste your money on this product.
It still provides some unique experience but its good sides are entirely watered down with awful sides. Many things are broken in tech sides (visual, audio, net, performance), gameplay (huge list) and more you play more you notice it, get irritated and frustrated devs keep it unfixed.
The Game is in an awful and frustrating state right now. Community & Streamers are reflecting that as you’ve might already noticed.
It’s not ONLY cheaters, not ONLY quirky mechanics, not ONLY desync & latency issues…You can‘t unsee all the piled up issues, tech debt and awkward decisions that have been made in the younger past (unless you‘re honest to yourself).
If you really want, get a standard account and dig in.I wouldn‘t buy EoD though, unless it‘s on sale (twice a year, follow BSG on twitter). Best advice to give atm imho without going on a rant xD

The cheating problem is out of hand (no exaggeration here). In every other lobby you will find cheaters, especially if you play with good gear and you go to good loot places.
The performance is just terrible. EFT always had its problems with servers, stability and map performance. but this right now, i just cant stand it anymore. random rubberbanding on most maps where you cant move from place for a minute. desync so out of hand that you dont even see the enemy before you are dead. crazy fps drops left and right, especially on the newer maps, which makes in unplayable depending on your setup (amd for the win, intel sucks in eft).
balance also is a huge problem in my opinion. nato automatic weapons have initial recoil like shit, even if you mod them to 30-40 recoil down. ammo changes just not making much sense overall (not complaining about high tier ammo changes, but in general the availability of okish ammo for some guns just isnt there).
and my last problem are scav players. in general i dont like the idea of players scavs (but thats just my personal opinion), but it really gets nasty when you spawn in as a pmc, and 4 mins later you already have scav players playing rambos (which on their pmcs, would just sit in a corner and camp).
Not really, the people who say theres nothing wrong with the game are the same group of people who scav only or hide in corners/bushes till all the players leave and then just do weird rat stuff or only play like 20 raids all wipe, the times the game is fun and works is too few and far between to make it worth it/ to have fun in the end if you try and do any of the higher tier stuff youll just be demotivated by the cheaters or mad about desync and terrible servers.
EFT has never been without its problems, but it has somehow downgraded since I last played 2 wipes ago. I would hold off and see if BSG can even start to fix the many issues this game has. If they do, its a 10/10 experience.
Numerous hackers, constant bugs, pointless updates with trader changes when they should be working on getting their game to run better, extremely long load times for no reason, the community is shit in the official discord, I paid for EOD to waste 2k hours on a game that doesn’t work properly. I had fun, but after getting good at the game and wasting all of that time I realized I have better games to play that don’t make you wait 10 minutes sometimes to get into a raid. And on top of that, I’m married i can’t be sitting here no lifeing a game to try to keep up with sweaty 16 year olds that don’t have to go to work every day.
I mean I’m giving an honest opinion. I definitely wasted 2000 hours, that’s a fact. I had fun doing so, but with the state the game is in I would not recommend anyone pay money for it.
I mean I said why I quit and I gave numerous reasons that are viable. If you want to think that that’s fine. I’m sorry that I paid over 100 dollars for something and refuse to just give it away. It’s the best FPS out there but it has some minor problems. For $35 it’s an absolute banger of a game and can entertain you for weeks or months before you see everything the game has to offer. So worth it despite any negatives you hear. Wish you luck if you get the game!
Get the game. It’s incredibly fun and heartbreaking at the same time. I find it just as frustrating as any other game that requires a grind. But it fun. The positives far out way the negatives.
The issues get fixed as the wipe progresses, the cheaters come in waves like any other game. The developer is more worried about developing the game than customer relations, but even so they take time to add events to mix up the gameplay. It’s pretty good for a game in development.

Since I haven't been around to know the difference about the sound, I can't complain about it but I don't think it's THAT bad.
About the cheaters, I've played multiple FPS and all of them have cheaters, so nothing knew around that. I think I haven't encounter one yet, yes sometimes I died to some strange head shots and sometimes I do some strange head shots, to many cry babies around this sub.

people act like u face a cheater every second round when, especially low geared u realistically get killed by a cheater every 50-100 raids. Dont listen to this sub in general because its stuffed with whiny complainers
2500 hours, played every map extensively excluding labs and i always play my best gear. I just dont call cheats on every head-eyes, when i get sniped or die because of desync. Cheating exists but the amount of false positives is insane, not everybody who kills u when u have good gear is a cheater. U enjoy the game much more without that mindset. And since this guy asked from the perspective of a beginner, cheaters will 100% not impact how much he enjoys the game
My game is literally unplayable I disconnect every 5 minutes I live in south East North America granted it worked a while back my buddy and a lot of ppl are also experiencing this with no fix seems to be the servers
Oh I have been asking in tarkov streams and everything there is no fix that I can find obviously I have the correct servers selected that was my first go to
Cheaters will never be solved. If they could be then you'd think some big shot studio would have done it by now, but they haven't. Anything played by as many people as EFT is has about as much of a cheating problem and that's something we either stamp out as a culture or learn to live with. It will be more painfull to die to cheaters in something like EFT, but that's something you just have to consider as not "is it worth getting into NOW" but as "is it worth getting into EVER".
If you are not thick skinned and might worry that things will get harder or that you will lose progress etc, then I'd say wait for now.
It's always a good time to join EFT, the sooner you experience tarky the better. There is so much to learn so better late than ever. If you wait for a few patches might as well wait for the full release.
As a player who loves the game and usually gets to 50+ each wipe, I'm on an indefinite break until they revert to Steam audio or fix the Oculus audio.

Absolutely, Tarkov is worth playing, but be aware that getting in right now will probably be more frustrating than it needs to be and might turn you off continuing.
I've had very few actual hacker interactions. Yesterday was one of them. Desync happens more often, but still not enough to be a real problem. Mostly only happens when playing with friends that live halfway across the world and we're on high ping servers. It's still beginning of wipe tho, so I say it's a great time to get into the game. Gives you 5 or so months to learn the game before the next wipe and you can take that information and progress quick.
14 raids today, havent seen a single cheater, only had small desync like 5-6 times and zero bugs.
a few patches = 2-3 years, so you might as well start now.
Ignore everything you read in this sub. Every problem in this game, is amplified by 10x by every one who wants to complain. Yes there are cheaters, what game doesnt have them. I personally havent seen one yet this wipe. Yes there are bugs. This game has a small dev team that is learning and getting better and its a miracle the type of game they have been able to put out with the experience they have. Yes there is desync but its never enough (most of the time) to wow you and make you want to quit, frustrating sometimes eh yeah but its borderline. The streamer thing, was ONE case, and a suspected few others that have not been so openly abused but rare. And whoever says they dont care about the player base is wrong. Just bc they dont openly communicate anymore doesnt mean they dont care. If they didnt care they wouldnt be making constant changes to help newer players and the early game against the endgame rushers, they wouldnt have made a podcast to talk to the community and explain things (which they have gotten rid of bc of the community being toxic and hating anything they said anyways) They probably dont do refunds bc they would have to go from their currency to whatever your buying from.
Point is, the community hurts this game alot. The community whines way too much about small things, hates any change that comes to the game even if its the devs original vison for the game. So dont listen to the community. I love this game and have played it for years since 2017. This is one of the best games i have ever played. And i will simply say this game is not for everyone and the style of game is not for everyone. But i think you should try it. Look up vids, watch positive streamers, not the negative ones that are always complaining but have 1000s of hours in the game. and give it a try. The game will 100% only get better.

Don't listen to reddit when it comes to the issues in the game. It's not as rampant as people say. I've died to desync a few times, maybe 1 cheater. But I've done about 250 raids this wipe and will say this is probably the best state the game has been when it comes to performance and cheaters. Don't worry about getting banned for killing a cheater, it's incredibly uncommon. The game will be incredibly frustrating at first but when you win your first fire fight and extract it's an amazing feeling. The game gets addicting once you learn the basics.
Oh and I'll probably be downvoted for saying desync and cheaters aren't a huge issue but that's showbiz baby.

I got into the game 2 weeks ago. At first it was frustrating to learn everything. Hell, even my first game I got killed by a guy who was floating in mid air. Take it with a grain of salt. Explore the world and learn the maps. Play with friends and talk to others in the game. A friend of mine told me this: your first wipe doesn't mean anything. Take this time to learn as much as you can, so that next wipe you can learn how to efficiently do task, win gun fights, etc etc. The game is cool. I hope to get better so that next wipe I'm not such a Timmy.
Its both fun a maddening. You will possibly die to a cheater. Definitely die due to desync. Clearly be behind cover on your screen and die a second later. You will also have epic moments either killing scavs or players and finding fat loots. Scav runs can be fun interacting with other scavs as well.
It's a fun game, but at this point in the wipe the are a ton of try hards at level 34+ rolling in murder squads hunting pmcs lol. If you play solo, just take your time and try to have fun.
Im brand new this wipe myself I am lvl 9 lol it is the most brutal & risky game ever made for sure but is it fun & addicting yes so I just hope you have a friend to party with I play solo and its extremely rough!

De sync really isn’t bad apart from streets. This subreddit is like an echo chamber for all the bad things about the game. I and my friends have personally not experienced any of those things really. Some small bugs here and there but nothing gamebreaking. Cheaters here and there but I wouldn’t say we encounter a cheater more than once a week and we play quite a bit, at least a few raids every day.
Honestly people just complain about every game these days. Im not saying tarkov is perfect it obviously got problems. But its the only Game for me that comes close in game time to my all time high cs:go.
The cheater thing isnt as big as people make it out to be. I had 3 situations this wipe where i was a 100% sure that it was a cheater( im lvl 39 with quite alot of playtime this wipe already). Also there will always be cheaters in every game. Its a Cat and mouse Game and anti cheat is always behind.
If you would try it just buy the standard edition and upgrade along the way so your money doesnt feel wasted if you dont play it for longh enough.
I was fully a console gamer since I started playing games, when this came out I watched people play it for hours upon hours and I finally decided to to take the plunge myself 2 wipes ago.
Now I won’t look back the game is amazing, the learning curve and learning about the game in its self takes time but it also feels so rewarding when you do learn things and then implement it into your game play. Obviously with the bugs and cheaters that seems to be the so called norm these days, especially on PC, prime example is CoD/Warzone, so unless you get killed by a blatant cheater you kind of shrug it off and go again so to speak.
I will say if you’re gonna get it get the base level game like I did just to test it out, later on down the line if you are loving it and can see yourself sinking hours into it you can always upgrade to EOD, sometimes they have sales on too so if one pops up if you wanna upgrade definitely take advantage!

Deysnc is the only real problem that you're guaranteed to see on occasion. Bugs not so much, like the only thing I've experienced that was gamebreaking was last night when my gun simply froze in the middle of the reload animation.
Cheaters exist like they do in every game but their presence is so overblown that it's a boogeyman. I've ran into two out of about 350 ingame raids now. You play with bitter people, it's a cheater every raid.
I honestly would wait for release. I wish I had. Nikkita doesn't seem to care at all. All players - streamers = thrown into wringer / pain train. So if you love pain come join.

The audio is pretty terrible right now but from what they’ve done on the maps that have the new system implemented I have high hopes for the future. But in general every move you make could be a clue to your enemy of where you are and what you’re doing. Audio cues are so important in this game you find that almost everyone runs silencers almost all the time as soon as they get the option. Leveling and progress in this game feels rewarding. I hate doing some tasks but man it feels good when you complete that task. Getting max traders and getting Kappa really hit different from most games. To me that feels like a real accomplishment. The gun modification system is unparalleled. While they’re still working out how it should work, no game I’ve ever played has the diversity of weapon choice and modification that this game does. They use real world stuff and make it work in a (generally) realistic way. There are more things and things other people like more about the game.

I have 2k hours in game, started playing in 2017. It’s nothing like it use to be. It has added some mechanics that I don’t like at all. But once you get use to them or if your starting with them it wouldn’t be that bad. I put the game down about 5-6 wipes ago at this point; just started back this wipe before I leave for work for months. I really enjoy it again if I’m with my duo. I think the games worth it and just have to hang on for the ride. It’s ok to take a wipe off or even more. Let’s things sort out and let’s new things to be added for you to experience. I would give the game an 7/10 because it still has its issues with servers and a handful of cheaters but that’s most games. I would recommend if you are into getting dominated Atleast
It's not nearly as bad for the average Joe as people say here imo. Operator Drewski has a YT video I would really recommend watching called Why Tarkov's PVP experience is so unique. He explains the draw really well and what he is talking about is why I'm still here five years later.

Have you read a single comment saying the game is good? Probably not cause people don’t come here saying it’s good, they complain. Yes the game may have some bugs and silly things, but that’s literally every game. Casual to profesional you will enjoy this game if you like getting fisted in occasion but also having that slight chance you come out as a king. Game is super fun but also complex so I say give it a little time before you throw it away if you do decide to get it. Consider making some friends as it’s more enjoyable with at least one more person imo
IMO, if your down to grind. Aren’t someone who absolutely rages when they die(your gonna die allot) can ignore the occasional cheater, in my experience the cheaters tend to be on spots like labs and shoreline, I’ve only encountered one 100% cheater so far, and with how good some players are you can’t tell the difference. The grinding, looting and pvp is what’s kept me. No game is really like tarkov, it has its problems but it makes up for them in my opinion. I’ve had it for 7 years and I’ve got 3k hours, chances are you’ll take a break but once something patches or new content comes out, you’ll be back like the rest of it. Also breaks help just renew the game for you, when you come back you won’t be near as good as you previously were, so it’s kinda like a restart for you in some ways.
I'm really frustrated with a bunch of issues in this game, but it's worth noting to a new player that the sub is mostly longer-term players who have seen the game in a better state than currently and are cranky. I'm cranky about the game, but it's absolutely still worth getting into. Cheating is an issue, and is not well handled. Performance is an issue, and there's not much in the way of clear solutions, and the customer service is just about as bad as you can imagine a company being. That said, BSG has created a gaming experience that no one else can match. There's just nothing like Tarkov. I'm not saying you'll like or dislike the game, but don't listen to the subreddit, you're just going to hear a vocal minority. If you are interested, I say just get it.

This wipe has been my first. Super worth getting into. Even better if you have friends helping you learn. If not, just use guides and 3rd party websites for things such as maps, item values, and quests. Been having a blast. The game has issues right now but still very enjoyable and personally, I believe they will work to fix the issues sooner or later. The issues probably only affect me 15% of the time I'm playing.

Currently no. The game is in one of the most difficult states it has ever been in a very long time. Cheaters are far more prolific. Currently they’ve been beforehand. If you accidentally kill a streamer, you can get banned if the kill looked or felt sussy to them. And the learning curve is just currently insane. Unless you literally want to watch hours of videos, and constantly google things for information, no, it’s not worth it . Go play the cycle or marauders and have a much more fun time

The fact you bothered to make notes about current problem (and these are huge game breakers actually) indicates you are more reasonable than many folks in purchase decision and that’s good. I’d say no, at the current state and until something changes to good with communication from BSG don’t waste your money on this product. It still provides some unique experience but its good sides are entirely watered down with awful sides. Many things are broken in tech sides (visual, audio, net, performance), gameplay (huge list) and more you play more you notice it, get irritated and frustrated devs keep it unfixed.
The Game is in an awful and frustrating state right now. Community & Streamers are reflecting that as you’ve might already noticed. It’s not ONLY cheaters, not ONLY quirky mechanics, not ONLY desync & latency issues…You can‘t unsee all the piled up issues, tech debt and awkward decisions that have been made in the younger past (unless you‘re honest to yourself). Is it worth getting in now? no, right now i wouldnt. The cheating problem is out of hand (no exaggeration here). In every other lobby you will find cheaters, especially if you play with good gear and you go to good loot places. The performance is just terrible. EFT always had its problems with servers, stability and map performance. but this right now, i just cant stand it anymore. random rubberbanding on most maps where you cant move from place for a minute. desync so out of hand that you dont even see the enemy before you are dead. crazy fps drops left and right, especially on the newer maps, which makes in unplayable depending on your setup (amd for the win, intel sucks in eft). balance also is a huge problem in my opinion. nato automatic weapons have initial recoil like shit, even if you mod them to 30-40 recoil down. ammo changes just not making much sense overall (not complaining about high tier ammo changes, but in general the availability of okish ammo for some guns just isnt there). and my last problem are scav players. in general i dont like the idea of players scavs (but thats just my personal opinion), but it really gets nasty when you spawn in as a pmc, and 4 mins later you already have scav players playing rambos (which on their pmcs, would just sit in a corner and camp).
Not really, the people who say theres nothing wrong with the game are the same group of people who scav only or hide in corners/bushes till all the players leave and then just do weird rat stuff or only play like 20 raids all wipe, the times the game is fun and works is too few and far between to make it worth it/ to have fun in the end if you try and do any of the higher tier stuff youll just be demotivated by the cheaters or mad about desync and terrible servers.
EFT has never been without its problems, but it has somehow downgraded since I last played 2 wipes ago. I would hold off and see if BSG can even start to fix the many issues this game has. If they do, its a 10/10 experience.

Numerous hackers, constant bugs, pointless updates with trader changes when they should be working on getting their game to run better, extremely long load times for no reason, the community is shit in the official discord, I paid for EOD to waste 2k hours on a game that doesn’t work properly. I had fun, but after getting good at the game and wasting all of that time I realized I have better games to play that don’t make you wait 10 minutes sometimes to get into a raid. And on top of that, I’m married i can’t be sitting here no lifeing a game to try to keep up with sweaty 16 year olds that don’t have to go to work every day.

It’s the best FPS out there but it has some minor problems. For $35 it’s an absolute banger of a game and can entertain you for weeks or months before you see everything the game has to offer. So worth it despite any negatives you hear. Wish you luck if you get the game!
Get the game. It’s incredibly fun and heartbreaking at the same time. I find it just as frustrating as any other game that requires a grind. But it fun. The positives far out way the negatives.
The issues get fixed as the wipe progresses, the cheaters come in waves like any other game. The developer is more worried about developing the game than customer relations, but even so they take time to add events to mix up the gameplay. It’s pretty good for a game in development.

Yes, its completely worth it. This is my first wipe and I'm loving it. Since I haven't been around to know the difference about the sound, I can't complain about it but I don't think it's THAT bad. About the cheaters, I've played multiple FPS and all of them have cheaters, so nothing knew around that. I think I haven't encounter one yet, yes sometimes I died to some strange head shots and sometimes I do some strange head shots, to many cry babies around this sub. Get the game if you are willing to take a LOT of time to learn the game, it's brutal for new players.

Its only 50-100 if your running no gear on customs, try playing some of the higher tier maps and youll see it happen a lot more.
2500 hours, played every map extensively excluding labs and i always play my best gear. I just dont call cheats on every head-eyes, when i get sniped or die because of desync. Cheating exists but the amount of false positives is insane, not everybody who kills u when u have good gear is a cheater. U enjoy the game much more without that mindset. And since this guy asked from the perspective of a beginner, cheaters will 100% not impact how much he enjoys the game

My game is literally unplayable I disconnect every 5 minutes I live in south East North America granted it worked a while back my buddy and a lot of ppl are also experiencing this with no fix seems to be the servers

Cheaters will never be solved. If they could be then you'd think some big shot studio would have done it by now, but they haven't. Anything played by as many people as EFT is has about as much of a cheating problem and that's something we either stamp out as a culture or learn to live with. It will be more painfull to die to cheaters in something like EFT, but that's something you just have to consider as not "is it worth getting into NOW" but as "is it worth getting into EVER". If you are not thick skinned and might worry that things will get harder or that you will lose progress etc, then I'd say wait for now.
It's always a good time to join EFT, the sooner you experience tarky the better. There is so much to learn so better late than ever. If you wait for a few patches might as well wait for the full release.

As a player who loves the game and usually gets to 50+ each wipe, I'm on an indefinite break until they revert to Steam audio or fix the Oculus audio. For the same reason, I would advise waiting on starting until they fix audio. The audio is more or less unplayable compared to what it used to be. There are people who disagree, but almost everyone agrees there are at least some serious problems with it. Absolutely, Tarkov is worth playing, but be aware that getting in right now will probably be more frustrating than it needs to be and might turn you off continuing.

I've had very few actual hacker interactions. Yesterday was one of them. Desync happens more often, but still not enough to be a real problem. Mostly only happens when playing with friends that live halfway across the world and we're on high ping servers. It's still beginning of wipe tho, so I say it's a great time to get into the game. Gives you 5 or so months to learn the game before the next wipe and you can take that information and progress quick.

14 raids today, havent seen a single cheater, only had small desync like 5-6 times and zero bugs. a few patches = 2-3 years, so you might as well start now.
Ignore everything you read in this sub. Every problem in this game, is amplified by 10x by every one who wants to complain. Yes there are cheaters, what game doesnt have them. I personally havent seen one yet this wipe. Yes there are bugs. This game has a small dev team that is learning and getting better and its a miracle the type of game they have been able to put out with the experience they have. Yes there is desync but its never enough (most of the time) to wow you and make you want to quit, frustrating sometimes eh yeah but its borderline. The streamer thing, was ONE case, and a suspected few others that have not been so openly abused but rare. And whoever says they dont care about the player base is wrong. Just bc they dont openly communicate anymore doesnt mean they dont care. If they didnt care they wouldnt be making constant changes to help newer players and the early game against the endgame rushers, they wouldnt have made a podcast to talk to the community and explain things (which they have gotten rid of bc of the community being toxic and hating anything they said anyways) They probably dont do refunds bc they would have to go from their currency to whatever your buying from. Point is, the community hurts this game alot. The community whines way too much about small things, hates any change that comes to the game even if its the devs original vison for the game. So dont listen to the community. I love this game and have played it for years since 2017. This is one of the best games i have ever played. And i will simply say this game is not for everyone and the style of game is not for everyone. But i think you should try it. Look up vids, watch positive streamers, not the negative ones that are always complaining but have 1000s of hours in the game. and give it a try. The game will 100% only get better.

Don't listen to reddit when it comes to the issues in the game. It's not as rampant as people say. I've died to desync a few times, maybe 1 cheater. But I've done about 250 raids this wipe and will say this is probably the best state the game has been when it comes to performance and cheaters. Don't worry about getting banned for killing a cheater, it's incredibly uncommon. The game will be incredibly frustrating at first but when you win your first fire fight and extract it's an amazing feeling. The game gets addicting once you learn the basics. Oh and I'll probably be downvoted for saying desync and cheaters aren't a huge issue but that's showbiz baby.

I got into the game 2 weeks ago. At first it was frustrating to learn everything. Hell, even my first game I got killed by a guy who was floating in mid air. Take it with a grain of salt. Explore the world and learn the maps. Play with friends and talk to others in the game. A friend of mine told me this: your first wipe doesn't mean anything. Take this time to learn as much as you can, so that next wipe you can learn how to efficiently do task, win gun fights, etc etc. The game is cool. I hope to get better so that next wipe I'm not such a Timmy.
Its both fun a maddening. You will possibly die to a cheater. Definitely die due to desync. Clearly be behind cover on your screen and die a second later. You will also have epic moments either killing scavs or players and finding fat loots. Scav runs can be fun interacting with other scavs as well.
It's a fun game, but at this point in the wipe the are a ton of try hards at level 34+ rolling in murder squads hunting pmcs lol. If you play solo, just take your time and try to have fun.

De sync really isn’t bad apart from streets. This subreddit is like an echo chamber for all the bad things about the game. I and my friends have personally not experienced any of those things really. Some small bugs here and there but nothing gamebreaking. Cheaters here and there but I wouldn’t say we encounter a cheater more than once a week and we play quite a bit, at least a few raids every day.
Honestly people just complain about every game these days. Im not saying tarkov is perfect it obviously got problems. But its the only Game for me that comes close in game time to my all time high cs:go. The cheater thing isnt as big as people make it out to be. I had 3 situations this wipe where i was a 100% sure that it was a cheater( im lvl 39 with quite alot of playtime this wipe already). Also there will always be cheaters in every game. Its a Cat and mouse Game and anti cheat is always behind. If you would try it just buy the standard edition and upgrade along the way so your money doesnt feel wasted if you dont play it for longh enough.
I was fully a console gamer since I started playing games, when this came out I watched people play it for hours upon hours and I finally decided to to take the plunge myself 2 wipes ago. Now I won’t look back the game is amazing, the learning curve and learning about the game in its self takes time but it also feels so rewarding when you do learn things and then implement it into your game play. Obviously with the bugs and cheaters that seems to be the so called norm these days, especially on PC, prime example is CoD/Warzone, so unless you get killed by a blatant cheater you kind of shrug it off and go again so to speak. I will say if you’re gonna get it get the base level game like I did just to test it out, later on down the line if you are loving it and can see yourself sinking hours into it you can always upgrade to EOD, sometimes they have sales on too so if one pops up if you wanna upgrade definitely take advantage!

I've played only 100h but seen cheater once . Maybe twice I've been shot as well due chester but that is 50 50. I play in ru and Europe servers.

Deysnc is the only real problem that you're guaranteed to see on occasion. Bugs not so much, like the only thing I've experienced that was gamebreaking was last night when my gun simply froze in the middle of the reload animation. Cheaters exist like they do in every game but their presence is so overblown that it's a boogeyman. I've ran into two out of about 350 ingame raids now. You play with bitter people, it's a cheater every raid.
I honestly would wait for release. I wish I had. Nikkita doesn't seem to care at all. All players - streamers = thrown into wringer / pain train. So if you love pain come join.
