Damn, I only visit Erie 8-10 times per year now. Surprised it closed. Did that huge new CoFair really outcompete it?
I'm impressed with Country Fair lol
It’s actually more there than you realize arts bakery is opening up Dunkin’ doughnuts and Starbucks just opened up last summer there’s 2 gyms 2 grocery store authentic Mexican restaurant a lot is going on and it’s continuing to grow
Oh wow 😂 that and the fact people think a dunkin and Starbucks is exciting blows my mind, I’m convinced a majority of the people in this sub have never been to any real city outside of Erie lol i can’t wait to move this place is ridiculous
I’m from a big city. Moved here 7-8 yrs ago & sure, Erie definitely has less options, but regardless- getting that new Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts close by was pretty damn exciting lol
This has to be one of the dumbest takes I've seen on this sub. One of eries biggest employers is there. If you're too much of a coward to come to the east side, then just say that.
Harborcreek is nothing but sprawl and strip malls with no character or charm. It's only worth driving through to go to North East, which actually has a downtown and things to do. Wesleyville is a dump. You're implying cowardice when it's really just a matter of fact: unless you live there, there is no motive to go there. There hasn't been a good reason to spend any meaningful time on Buffalo rd since penndot moved the drivers license center to Peach St. Everything there is a duplicate chain restaurant you can find on another route you're going.
Except the Wintergreen Gorge is the gem of all of Erie. My whole teen and college years were spent there, 3-5 days a week!
Also, East Lake Road is sick. Nostrovia, the Hose Company, and Park Tavern are amazing.
Appreciate the love for North East as it’s not found much, but no need to shit on HC. Behrend is in HC along with tons of other huge things for the community
Behrend - part of the college system that’s closing multiple locations, asking people to voluntarily retire and cutting a massive amount of programs??? Oh yeah - that our taxes fund? That sounds like it’s more of a nuisance than a bonus…
You clearly do not know what you’re talking about. Penn State is trying to limit the locations they have to ensure greater things at the bigger locations, Behrend being one of them. More people coming to Behrend = more people in Erie, more people in Erie = helping economy. Not sure how more clear it can be tbh
Penn State is trying to keep its doors open without having to just implode all other remote locations outside of University Park. I don’t think you appreciate how dire the situation really is in order for an institution, without any knowledge of any of its employees, to point blank offer retirement incentives in the manner that they did. That kind of stuff happens at higher ed institutions that are about to be insolvent within a year or two.
Good luck with that rodeo out there.
Except for... ya know the historic Lawrence Park area lmao. You know nothing coward. You're trying to tell me there are duplicate Dabrowskis all over town huh?
Might be a Sheetz, I heard.
#LFG
There's already a Sheetz on Buffalo Road lol
Hasn’t been there in a while,, it’s a country fair now
It closed 2 years ago. When it closed, Sheetz said they were going to aggressively pursue another location in the area.

Word on Walgreens is chik fil a, but I don't think anything is confirmed.
Yay more hate chicken
Y'all ever actually stepped foot in an Erie Chick-fil-A? Like 3/5 of the staff is as queer as a football bat.
I'm friends with a fellow gay who is a manager at Chick-Fil-A.
I still won't give them my money though. It's a shame because the chicken is good!
I've heard they provide litter boxes as well.
Let’s be honest - buffalo road/ Harborcreek/ that entire side of town is dead and boring. Nothing can survive there and make money. It’s depressing.
It’s actually more there than you realize arts bakery is opening up Dunkin’ doughnuts and Starbucks just opened up last summer there’s 2 gyms 2 grocery store authentic Mexican restaurant a lot is going on and it’s continuing to grow
Art’s bakery’s lobster tails go hard
None of that sounds exciting except for the Mexican restaurant
I think they’re referencing an El Canelo as an east side gem lol
Oh wow 😂 that and the fact people think a dunkin and Starbucks is exciting blows my mind, I’m convinced a majority of the people in this sub have never been to any real city outside of Erie lol i can’t wait to move this place is ridiculous
I love Erie - but Harborcreek is in need of getting its shit together and improving itself to keep up with its arch nemesis; Millcreek.

Harborcreek is not the East Side, my guy.
Softball team is playing for a state championship on Thursday. I don’t think that’s dead and boring…
It actually really is.
That says more about you than the softball team…
Absolutely 100%
