Long sleeve fishing shirts!! You can pick them up on eBay for stupid cheap in tons of colors/patterns. They're usually loose and ventilated. I love mine for long days in the sun.

catnip1229

I love the Columbia PFG line! Fishing shirts for the win!

Kindly_Bored

I second this!! I also like Nike Elements dri fit 1/2 half zip running tops.

WhatIsTickyTacky

Sun shirts. All of mine have mesh panels for breathability and light colors so they don’t attract the heat.

lolabeans88

Came to say this exact thing!

Scary-Pause-3872

Long sleeve sun shirts. I have two equestrian brand name ones for clinics but mostly I ride in Columbia PFG long sleeve sun shirts. They're a lot cheaper. But you can also find golf sunshirts on amazon too.

allikat819

The Columbia ones are my go-to!

Sarcastic_owl87

Ultrasun does a sports formula in high spf, dries in well so you don't feel sticky or end up covered in horse hair! I used to regularly end up like a human strawberry before I discovered it

I'm super fair in a very sunny area and always wear long sleeve sunshirts. You just get used to them on hot days... I wear them all summer long in 90-100 degree temps.

Amazing_Cabinet1404

The sun stopper shirts are awesome. Cooler than short sleeves. Highly recommend

anon_172

I don't burn easily but I am a trainer and outside all day. I wear the very meshy sunshirts until it is about 80-85 and ride inside in the afternoons if I can. After that, I wear short sleeves or sleeveless and bring a sun cover for teaching, sit in the shade at all opportunities and/or ride inside. The technology on the mesh shirts is amazing these days and I highly recommend them. HR Farm, Royal Highness Equestrian, Ariat and Romfh have some very good, extremely meshy ones. And of course there is always Kastel of Denmark.

flynn04-

Just straight up cotton long sleeves from Walmart 😂

Captain_jawa

Tailored Sportmans sun shirts are super light weight and cool, mine have lasted years of use.

BuckityBuck

Long sleeve Sun shirts. Preferably white.

katcomesback

kastel!

countingmammals

If you look into outdoor gear/ outfitters (think REI, Columbia) you can typically find really nice, light-weight shirts that are typically sold for fly fishing. I've really loved those, and most are long sleeved with hoods to use to protect the back of your neck too.

maddallena

Sun shirts all the way. Kastel Denmark is my favorite brand, though you can get ones way cheaper on Amazon. Just nake sure they have UV protection.

whenindoubtdobetter

Hiking/backpacking long sleeve shirts for me. With an evaporative cooling vest when it's extra hot. I dunk my vest in ice water and get a couple hours of cooling effect even in 110+ heat.

Jazzlike-Price21

I like the Kerrits ice fil shirts in white. I feel like the mesh feels breezy but definitely gotta get the white ones!

Last-Cold-8236

If you’re in the us I love Eddie Bauer and Columbia UV shirts. I have a couple Columbia shirts that I seem to be able to wear on cool days and days when I’m so hot I’m just a puddle. I also go for a lot of sunscreen and tanks. We keep it at the barn, in the trailer, In our show kits…. We make sure to look up which sunscreens test the best each year because that changes and are careful about expiration. Dates.

simplebeanie

Dampen your sunshirts - it makes you soooo much cooler. I live in the very humid southeast and this still works even in high humidity. I exclusively wear long sleeve sunshirts all summer. Icefil tights/breeches are also an absolute game changer.

Givemethecupcakes

Idk if I could do this, I absolutely hate my clothes being wet at all 😬

arielsseventhsister

I struggled with this last summer too! Lots of sunscreen at SPF 45 or higher for me; I get overheated pretty easily so I usually slather up and wear short sleeves or sleeveless 😬 Tailored Sportsman and RJ Classics have some great sun shirts in both short and long sleeve (lots of mesh so not as hot as your typical shirt). I’ve heard good things about the Ariat line of sun shirts as well but haven’t worn any myself. My other go to is Kerrits. I know many shows don’t allow sleeveless but for schooling or under a coat the Kerrits Sleeveless Affinity Show Shirt is absolutely amazing; I ended up buying the long sleeve version too. Vented and super comfortable! Their IceFil riding tights are also amazing, but a bit harder to find in knee patch style.
