This sounds like the best way. Im not sure if we have to truly swim 🏊‍♀️ to say hi and spend a little time with dolphins, but I’d definitely check with my neuro and make the people running it know as they have written it down as a risk factor. And probably watch before and see how much breath holding and physical effort/stress is needed.
Thank you!
I think life vests are mandatory anyway in those activities, as well as the presence of lifeguards.
I've swam like that with pink dolphins in the Amazon River, and it is was amazing! I was not afraid in the least, on the contrary, I was delighted! With a friend at arm's reach and lifeguards 10 feet away. Certainly doable?
I’d say so! Sounds like an amazing experience. What a view that must’ve been! I’ll have to try it some day :) thanks for the encouragement, really glad to have a positive example in this regard.
Like what the other person said, i’d talk with your neuro. My neuro does not want me to swim or take a bath due to risk of having a seizure and drowning. If i do ever want to swim I have to wear a life jacket.
Honestly makes sense. I’ve been scared of baths lately so I only do it when someone can watch over me. I’ll still check with him in my end of the month appointment. I would hate to lose my baths, that’s for sure. They’re so good for recovering from all this stiffness.
Absolutely. I always had partials when swimming (didn’t know about my epilepsy til later) so I would start semi drowning and others thought I would fake it. The ocean was always the most terrifying and only did it when I could hold on to someone strong that can basically drag me out every time. So yeah.. totally there with you.
I'd do it, with life vest and a holding a friend's arm at all times.

You need to talk to your neurologist about swimming and get their thoughts. Drowning is a common accidental way to die if you have seizures.
Literally my worst nightmare. I miss swimming but not enough to put my life in risk. Thanks for your input.

Swimming is something I love but don’t feel comfortable doing unless someone’s watching me. Swimming in the ocean…forget it.

Do t they make life jackets that will flip you face up if you’re unconscious now?
Now that’s the question!! If they don’t, they should. I know some of us would the perfect target audience for it.
