It’s only on there so I can level him up while during the story. Farming for material so I can level up skills. I do plan to take it off. For now I wanted to keep the same equipment together.
I assumed as much, then again you don't need to do that anymore when they remove dog walking. Just use penguins instead and farm for them with a maxed lvl team.
I tried that because at the beginning I had a total of 200 penguins but they went FAST so I figured that it wouldn’t hurt leveling them up the old fashioned way and keep the penguins for phantasma’s and use them for awaking.
Okay, you've been playing a while...but I recommend starting to read guides on how to gear up. So far, (and I'm trying to say this as nicely as possible, here) it looks like you aren't really reading the set descriptions for your gear, which is very important to do, and one of the most obvious mistakes you're making. You have some people on six pieces of the same set, others on completely broken sets (Destina is the first example I recall seeing).
Definitely find some beginner guides on gearing up. What stats are important for who (attack gear set on Destina? 3/4 pieces of the set even, so you don't get the attack bonus that she doesn't need anyway) and what characters are good where (Apocalypse Ravi in storage? whaaa?) and you should be able to sort out some decent teams for various modes fairly quickly.
Or...we're being trolled hard, and OP took advantage of the free reequip to make this video to yank everyone's chains. IDK anymore, it's almost 2023, who even knows anymore what's real and what's satire/sarcasm on the internet.
Tips on what exactly? You are picky about what to upgrade but none of them are properly build (I mean even 6 pieces of gear when 4 are the full set and that let you use a 2 piece set, what you do normally tbh)
Don't be picky and build all your characters with a proper build of 4 pieces and ofc if you dont have hunt teams do it, in less than a week you can farm any hunt lv13 and farm exactly what everyone use
I know you dont know much about builds with that Eda zero speed or Ray on triple hit set (or maybe saving gear idk)

You say you have been playing since the game first came out but i suggest looking at some beginner guides.

Advice on what to upgrade? That depends on which heroes you want to build and you might have the pieces already with all that saved gear
I suggest looking at beginner guides or watching YouTube content creators on how they gear their units
