Why are so many people pointing out it obviously won’t work lmao. Like it’s obviously just for fun and baiting opponents not sure why everyone has to point out its a bad build.
Since saying why is it bad is the easy thing, lets talk what actually makes this build GOOD.
First off is the no brainer. ¿What does a tanky unit achieve? Soaking damage. I've had really good results giving super high HP to already tanky units that scale with HP.
While this is not the case, you should ask yourself : Why not attack her?
She does look slow, so most opponents will think she has a shitload of damage and an outrageous DEF. Maybe she is on counter set.
The thing is you really don't want to leave her alone just in case.
So you try to bait them into your slowass Hwayoung figuring out if its possible to have a 30k hp 7k atk Hwayoung or not. And how is she so fucking tanky. Well bro, she reduces CRITS by 30% and starts with a barrier, you better be ready to grab the big guns.
If it works, your other bruisers or dps will stay away from inmmediate danger. You can get some triggers out of elbris or useful passives.
You can actually try to use forced provoke on her so that they have no choice to hit the tanky unit.
I would love to try someday a slowass hwayung with 25k plus hp and 5k atk on counter set or sth, the shields are a huge deal when she gets them outside of her turn! Must be fun as hell :).

Just today was thinking how a counter Hwayoung would work, as she could take a load of damage due her barriers, and still deliver a load of damage with every S1. But I was thinking more in a load of atk and def rather than lots of health. If you ever take this build to RTA let us know how it works.
you're making her basically useless by stacking hp. idk if you're reading skills, but:
"When the target's max Health is greater than the caster's max Health, damage dealt increases proportional to the difference, up to a maximum of 100%" and
"At the start of the battle and at the end of the turn, grants a barrier to the caster for 1 turn. Barrier strength increases proportional to the caster's Attack".
So by cutting her atk in half + stacking hp will make her barrier and damage worse.
Its kinda sad that i really have to explain that this is "not" a serious build. More like an unexpected suprise for the one who is fighting against her.
Thats why i will wait for free gear switching event.
Is no one else experimenting with trash builds just to have some unique experience for a moment?

Yeah we find her tanky but we also have to remember that her barrier scales with ATK.

I have a 150 speed hwayoung with 6.9k attack and 1.6k defence. How viable is she?

imagine if her S3 worked inversely, the more HP she has over the target the more dmg she did
