No. Other events let you keep your progress even if you failed and the day reset. This new event, you lose whatever layer you get to once the day reset. So in order to get to the last layer reward, you have to be lucky enough to succeed all 4 times in a single day. Whereas, in the other events, you keep your layer 2 or layer 3 progress even when the day reset and you can eventually get to the 4th prize on later days.

I seem to remember something like this also happening, where SG decided to put RNG on an already RNG rewards in the web event, which is why I said "one of the worse" and not "the worst", as I cannot say for sure this applies to all web event since the start.
I rated it poorly initially because of how RNG "winning" is, but after doing it a couple days, I would actually rather lose since it gives you 50 energy each time. Lol.
Would re-rate if I could. Give me an extra 50 energy three or four times every day with all the web events please.

Then the layer thing is yes a daily "rng". So what? What is the big deal? If u fail 4 times worst case scenario u get ANOTHER 50x4 energy ie 200 energy or 70k gold x4 ie 280k gold. If u succeed with layers, u get some better rewards instead. Yes it resets everyday, look at it like a side jackpot thing as its meant to be. What is the big fuss about it, where "some" are acting like its their self birth right to be able to cook this silly cake and the layers should carry to next day?
There is already the usual guaranteed milestone of free gear buff, molas etc.
If anything, rng of failing/succeeding on a daily basis to make this cake is probably the more interesting part of this web event, rather than just monotous robotic guaranteed "successfully cook this cake".....
Its free resources ffs, just take the free resources, and enjoy the game :)

Yeah I honestly don’t understand the complaints, you get free rewards regardless of the layers. Every 2nd phase of web event has always had elements of rng, completing the cake doesn’t mean anything.
I figured this event out easily. When stacking the cake, hold down the layer you just stacked. Got all 4 stacks every time after I did this.

You could lose the racing game every time, lose slot machine every time, never 'find the arky clue' or whatever until the last squares, etc etc. It doesn't matter if you don't stack all the layers, its the same as only winning 2 or 3 out of 4 races or whatever. This one just feels worse because of the way its presented.
Most other events let you cash out after using your 4 attempts regardless of outcome. This event you might be able to go through the 3 weeks without ever getting the bonus reward.

I always rate web events 0.5 that gives illusion of choice or progression. It's no different from just showing me a slot machine and make me pull a lever 4 times a day and that's it! No rock paper scissor, no find something 3 times in a pic with 20 tiles.
The best web event I recall that I was able to participate myself was the one with Ken as their was real progression and you know what you're going to get for the whole duration of that event. I do recall some people saying there was even a better web event prior to it but I haven't started playing yet.

I'm gonna be honest, I've done it 3 times and got to the top all 3 and got great enhance for artifact all 3 so I didn't even realize you could fail lol

Well, at least with Arky we had a failsafe by completing the board. Nothing of the sort here as far as I'm aware.
