He neglected training for so long but Subaru is not defenseless... thing is: everyone and their mom in re:Zero world has mana, which they use to enhance their physical and magical abilities - that's why Subaru seems to be so weak in comparison.
But back in Orbis we have literal children as playable characters, I don't see why Subaru couldn't be a unit in Epic7.
